Jared Sandeye slung his backpack over his shoulder as he ran into the hall.
"Hurry, Jared!" his mom called from the kitchen. "You're going to be late!"
"I'm on my way, mom!" he called back. I hate being the new kid, he thought. He grabbed his lunch, his mom gave him a quick kiss, and he hurried out the door into the bus.
Jared Sandeye lived with his mom in a small home in New York. Their family was poor, and this house was all they could afford. Jared was 14, and just entering high school. One subject he couldn't wait to start was Social Studies. Jared was a history whiz.
Jared stepped down from the bus onto the grounds of the high school. He smiled, and walked further into the school, not noticing somone behind him.

OOC: yeah.
BIC: An urchin ran next to the bus, her long platuim blonde hair streaming out behind her. She was about to set a new record! Just then, she bumped into Jared, and she fell down. "How did you get there?" She asked. "Oh, excuse me! My name is Sharie. Yours?"

Jared stood up, rubbing his face where it had hit the ground. "Sorry. My name's Jared. I'm a new student here. Er...do you go here? Because I could use a tour." He was stunned by this girl's beauty.

"I guess you can say that. Though not everyone welcomes an urchin in their nice pristince school! Come on!" Sharie took Jared's hand and tugged him along, showing him the differnt class rooms. "So, Jared, what's your family like? Me, I just live alone most of the time. My father comes and goes, and my mother, I dont know where the heck she is most of the time." Sharie stopped and began to braid her long hair so it wouldnt get in the way. Her striking pale baby blue eyes wandered up and down the hall, and sometimes even landed on Jared's face. When it did, she quickly turned away, muttering how improper that an urchin was looking at a boy like that.

Jared smiled as Sharie turned away from him. Unlike her, Jared's hair was black, and his eyes were brown. He was tall for his age, and was slightly muscular.
Jared was just about to turn a corner when a deep voice behind him made him stop. "Who's the newbie?"
Slowly, Jared turned round, and looked up into the tallest person in his life.
"Who the heck are you? You're a bit small for a new kid."

"Shut up Justin. You were a newbie last year and you remember when they made fun of you b/c of your tallness, right?" Sharie growled. "Besides, any friend of the Urchin is NOT to be picked on, understand? Anyone who does will answer to me. Clear?"

"Then who is this guy?" Justin asked, slapping Jared on the shoulder. "He looks like a dork. Where do you live, dork?"
Jared shook his head. "If you don't mind, I'd like to be shown around the school. Maybe you can show me something."
Justin grinned, and turned to Sharie. "Listen, Urchin. Are you sure you want to be hanging out with this dork? He looks weird, you don't want to mix in with the wrong kind."

"I'm the Urchin. I can hang with whoever I want. Understand Justin? You'll thank me later if I have to save your hide agian. Now, show me and Jared around, will ya?" Sharie smiled sweetly.

The bell rang at that moment. Jared relaxed. But before he could walk away from Justin, he was grabbed by the shoulder. "Saved by the bell, dork. I'll take care of you later."
Jared stepped out into the grounds and looked at his schedule. His first hour was English. He looked up at Sharie. "Er.....not to be rude, but, why do they call you...'Urchin'?"

"Because of my family, how I live. That's why. I rank high in the school, so Justin is like my bodyguard. Stay close to me, an'....blasted Spanish! Why do I have to take it, hm?" Sharie went next door to Jared's language class, her long hair swishing her back.
OOC: Sharie is SHORTER than Jared.....

Jared took one look at Sharie. She sure is pretty, he thought. He then opened the door to his Language class and disappeared behind it.

BIC: Sharie flipped her platinum blonde hair, and watched Jared dig in the sand. They have been dating for two years, and she was now 21. "What ARE you doing, Sandeye?" She laughed when some sand fell on his head.

Jared stood up and wiped the sand off his head. He sat down on a mound of dirt, and sighed. "I'm...just trying to find that treasure. I mean, remember when we found that symbol in my house?"

Sharie santured up to where Jared was working, and when she got there, she almost fainted, if Jared hadnt caught her. "Jared, my love..." Sharie didnt finish becuase she was soo suprised. She fell down in the sand on her kness, and put her hands to her mouth, her hair falling in her face.

Jared held Sharie close to him, dug in the sand, and pulled out a small gold ring with a diamond. "Sharie, I think its time I asked you this: will you marry me?"
