As you enter into the walls of the inn, your eyes move towards the front door. A maid is waiting at the front door and slides it open, her eyes firmly staring towards the floor. You immediately show your respect for the inn and remove your shoes, replacing them with the indoor slippers that the inn provides for all of its guests.
As you step into the inn, the maid is still kneeling and slides the door back shut, slowly rising to her feet to show you to the front desk. There, you are greeted by some of the residents of the inn itself. Male geisha are performing in side rooms, as well as the maids are scurrying to keep the inn spotless. A male geisha greets you upon your arrival with a warm smile. He will be your guide to your room. By doing this, you will become familiar with one who is jester-like in actions and to whom you will become familiar with further upon your stay in the inn.

(The Inn receives a steady 50,000 yen every month.
20,000 goes to inn expenses. The rest is given to its residents.)
December - Received 50,000 yen. 20,000 yen went to expenses. 30,000 yen split amongst residents.

((I would greatly appreciate it if all future applicants for the inn would do the following instead of asking to join. I've been haivng a few problems with keeping up lately and have decided to make a change. I apologise to anyone who tried to join while I was away. If you are still interested, please let me know by doing the following. Males wishing to be patrons or danna, whatever, please post that here.) Short and simple they gave just the message he wanted.

I have taken the post as "Head Male Geisha" in the inn. I wish only to let the local okiya know that I have joined your district. I wish you well, and will harbor no ill tidings to any of your performers.

Later he would have a maid deliver them, or perhaps pay a messenger to take them to the okiya around the area. Of course the others probably already knew of his arrival in the district, but he felt it only polite to send an introduction to the heads of house. He stood after sealing the last of them and checked himself in the mirror. He'd done the costume properly yet again. Only someone who paid close attention could look at him and not take him for a woman at first glance. With a small smile he headed for the door of his room, sliding into his slippers and heading down stairs as he tucked the letters into his obi.
Picking his favorite of the side rooms, Hitori took a seat on a rather large, comfortable coushin near an open window, looking out into the garden. He had left te door of the room open purposefully so that should anyone enter the inn he would know, and shortly after his own arrival, a maid came in to offer him tea. Acknowledging her with a slight nod and a warm smile, he accepted the cup she poured and waved her away to her other tasks. Taking a small sip of the steaming tea he turned his attention back to the outside, wondering if people would take him seriously or take him as a joke. He wanted this job, and would do his best to keep his position and his honor in the post.

Sayuri stopped in front of the inn with a smile. It had recently been built in their small Hanamachi. Yes, such a cute inn where patron would come and go. If she was lucky, she would be offered a chance to help entertain patron here, as well as the teahouses in their district. Slowly, Sayuri stepped up to the front door.
A maid was waiting at the front door and slid open the door, offering a meek "Irashaimasu" and Sayuri stepped through the door, sliding out of her zori and into the slippers provided by the maid. The maid stood and began to lead the way to a geisha in the other room. Upon entering the room, Sayuri gave a slight bow.
"Sumimasen," Sayuri apologized as she entered the room. "I noticed that the inn was open and could not help but want to greet its residents."

Hitori smiled kindly and nodded to the new occupant of the room. "Welcome. It pleases me that you would visit. I'm afraid I haven't gotten anything prepared for your visit. I could call for the maid if you wish, but please, have a seat." Hey gestured with his hands as he spoke, indicating the table, bare but for his cup and the teapot, then to the offered coushin.
Though delighted to meet one of the others from the district, he inwardly chastized himself for not having anything ready for such a visit. He would, he vowed, be more prepared the next time. As he waited for the lady to take a seat he signaled the maid as he made her way past the open door, asking her to bring another cup for the new arrival, and asking for a small tray of fruits.

Sayuri listened to Hitori as he kindly offered her a seat. Sayuri took the seat as he gestured, careful to not wrinkle her kimono.
"The decor, in your inn, is quite exquisite. I was so surprised when I walked in. It was as if I were walking into the emperor's own palace," Sayuri described with pleasure.
As the maid brought the cup, Sayuri poured herself a glass of tea and seeing Hitori's low cup she refilled it with delight.
"I suppose you haven't had many visitors, then?" Sayuri continued. "I would suppose, though, that once words gets out about your inn, everyone will want to sleep like an emperor! I am sure the entertainment is just as exquisite as the decor infers it to be."

Hitori bowed his head slightly at the compliments. "You are too kind. I'm sure this inn is poorly decorated compared to many of the fine establishments in this area." He smiled as she refilled his cup, and took a sip out of curtesy, sitting it back on the table, and smoothing out the small wrinkles from his kimono (yukata?) that formed from his movement. "You honor me too much, I am but new to this profession, and I know no one here but you and those that work here."
He lifted the tray of sweet fruits to offer them to the woman. "I hope some time we can work together. Please know that I welcome the others to come here, provided they cause no discord that is."
