Anali entered the labs, looking around. Well, this place was definitely nicer than the orphanage her first child was adopted from. She held the letter in her hand; apparently she was to become a mother to one more. Not that it bothered her any; she loved kids! True, things were a bit tough at the moment, with her hours getting cut and all, but she was sure they'd manage!
The tan woman wore a warm smile as she approached what seemed to be the front desk. She rang the bell, then stood back a bit to wait. Oh, this was exciting, now wasn't it?

From another room came a rather pleasant looking little woman with big poofy hair and large round glasses. "Hello hello!" Apoxi greeted her, smiling brightly. "here because of a letter?" They didn't have any appointments that day but there were plenty of letter people due to arrive.

The tan skinned woman smiled, nodding as she held up the opened letter. "Why, ah do declare, you've done gone and hit the nail on da head dair." she said, chuckling. "Ah'm to assume Ah'm heah to pick up a youngun?" If her accent was any thicker, she'd choke on it. It sounded like some garbled atrocity found between a Kentucky diner waitress and the stereotypical Jamaican accent.
"So, when do ah git to meet the 'il fella?" she asked, cutting to the chase. She was sure this lady was a very busy woman; she didn't want to keep her too long, now did she? Of course not.

Apoxi smiled brightly, "Oh you get to pick which you'd like. Unless you don't have a preference, then I'll go grab one for you." she said pleasantly. The accent was nice, somewhat comforting - she'd known people in her home with accents and they tended to remind her of it. "I know some people have the problem of always wanting to take every child home."

"Ah don't really 'ave much of a pref'rence." Anali said, smiling. "Why, if Ah wen back der, Ah'd prob'ly end up with more youunguns then Ah'd know what ta do wid." Yeah, she definitely fell into that second category. Why, she already had a youngun at home who was quite a handful; she was plumb out of her mind to take on the responsibility of another. And yet here she was, happily accepting the responsibility.

Apoxi nodded a bit and headed back to some of the rooms. Eventually, she returned with a toddler walking along behind her. He was green and looked kind of like an alien. But with long black curls and large wings. Cute, really.

"Aww, ain'tchu just a sight fa so' eyes!" Anali crooned, giggling. Such an adorable little one! She squatted down on her haunches so she'd be closer to his eye level. "C'mere, little darlin'! Tell Mama what yo' name is." She smiled brightly at the little fella, ushering him forwards.
Keru hung back, hiding behind Apoxi. Who was this strange lady and why was she talking funny? She was dubbed scary in the child's book, as far as it was concerned. "No." was all the little one said, and that was that. Keru decided he was NOT going with the scary! No way, no how.

Apoxi rubbed her eyes. "You're as bad as Hazij. Go with the nice lady, she's gonna take you home." the little woman said, nudging him a bit. "And don't be rude."
Looking up at Anali and seemed somewhat embarassed. "Sorry. They dont' have names though. We try not to put too much influence on the kids before they get homes. And this one hasn't got a gender yet so picking a name is definitely for the parents."

Keru frowned, taking a couple shuffling steps forward. "Don't like." the child informed his new mother, ignoring Apoxi's warning. "Talk funny. Weirdo lady." This was kind of funny, coming from a kid who looked like a humanoid frog with wings. Besides, he wanted to stay here! He still hadn't gotten a look around everywhere and there were SO many cool places he wanted to explore! Not to mention mischief to be made
Anali chuckled, more amused than anything. Such an adorable little baby, wasn't he, er, she, um....schlee? "Hmm... the youngun looks to be an Eric...or p'haps a Marlu? Or Kevin." The blonde thought a moment, tapping her chin. "Ah b'leive I gots it. Keruuuuu~" she said, drawing out the last part of the name. She then smiled to Apoxi. "Ah thank ya, ma'am." she said, bowing her head a bit.

"No problem. Just let me finish out the paperwork here for you." Apoxi stated, pulling out a small stack of papers and filling them out speedily. "If you need monetary help caring for the child, you need only request it. And Keru needs to be brought back here once per stage of growth for observation." she explained.

Anali nodded. "Ah undastand." she said, smiling warmly. She didn't think money would be a problem, but it was nice of the lady to offer the help. Such a nice place here. Too bad everywhere wasn't as nice as here.
Keru sighed as he was picked up by his newly-appointed guardian. "Don't want." he said, sighing. Looks like he wasn't getting a choice. This was SO unfair! He should get a say in who was his guardian! What if this lady was a human-eating alien in disguise? Or worse: a crazy cat lady! The horror!
