Gloomy Sunday is a piano piece. People say that once you hear it, you'll be compelled to commit suicide. eek
It was composed by a Hungarian musician before the second world war. He made it for this woman he fancied in this bar he worked for. The woman already had another lover. Anyway, as things progressed, she fell in love with the musician. She left her lover and ran away with the musician.
They ran out of money, and one day, the woman left the musician. He just woke up one day and saw that his lover wasn't in his bed anymore. He walked to the window, and whispered to himself "This certainly is a gloomy sunday."
The song was recorded, it became so popular. The musician got rich. When he felt that he was rich enough, he looked for the woman. He found out that upon hearing the song, she had also committed suicide as well. In the end, the musician jumped out the window to his death.

The problem is, Allie, Seig and I just listened to the whole song a while ago. It was so...unsettling. While listening to it, I got really sad all of a sudden, as if someone was slowly draining all the happiness inside me. But the song was really beautiful...

Interesting. I looked around for an mp3 of the song. I found a website that had an english verison by Bille Holiday. That version of the song is jazz, but it still made me sad. This website had the lyrics, and some information on it too. Gloomy SundayThere have been other versions of it. I listened to the other version on the website, and I still found it rather sad. Its a beautiful piece of music.

I think you can download some versions at the internet. Not the original version, though. Only the edited ones. ninja
