Hi, everybody! I'm the new City Planner for Chel'elSussoloth. Previously, Chel'el'Sussoloth was a place with restrictions and limitations at every corner, but I wanted you all know that a few changes will be made so it is more member friendly to all of us here at NHG. (:
I wanted to ask you all a few questions to improve the Dark Elf City.
1)What would interest you more at Chel'el'Sussoloth? 2)What do you want changed? 3)Do you have any ideas that will interest everyone else? 4)Any ideas to add to the story line?
It will soon be a place that all Dark Elves, Drow, and even other non-humans can hang out and enjoy the view. (:

So, you're the city planner? Cool, i've got a few suggestions. The clans are nice and all but there are too many and the hierarchy isn't planned out at all. I think that we should start at a low number of clans maybe two or three and about the hierarchy, i don't really know how that would work because the drow and dark elves have a governing system that i really haven't studied. I prefer military hierarchies but social hierarchies work just as well.

Well, Dark Elves were small tribes or clans and slowly grew into their own empire, developing a matriarchal society that they passed on to the Drow. They also were worshipers of the Moons and magic. They were the shadow culture to the Light Elves, who were a more patriarchal society at the begining and that worshiped the Sun and nature.
Drow society is generally led by a clan represented by the moon. This clan is lead by a queen called Ilharess. However, Drow do prefere military rulings. (:
I believe there are only three clans in Chel'el'Sussoloth at the moment. They are named Val'Sarghress, Val'Kyorl'solenurn, and Vel'Vloz'ress. Each clan should have a Ilharess, but we won't be able to elect them until we have gathered more Dark Elves/Drow. ^^

Also, I know few to no female 'drow/dark elves' that stay like that all the time so do we open the leadership up to female none 'drow/dark elf' elves or to male 'drow/dark elves'? This suggestion is of course in case we can't find too many long standing 'drow/dark elf' females to run the dark elf cities.

If we can't ever find about four dedicated and willing Dark Elf/Drow females, I'd say we hand the position to males. However, that is only in case of emergency and if we can't even find one. If you can find one Dark Elf/ Drow female, we can have her be the Ilharess of the comming soon moon clan. This moon clan, out hierachy, will consist of the first Drow/Dark Elves to join Chel'el'Sussoloth. I'd say the first 7, not including the Ilharess.

I see. Moon Clan seems out of place in between the other clan names don't you think. Also, a clan consisting of seven Drow/Dark Elves seems small... Also, how would the clans interect? Wars? I'm sorry that all i'm doing is throwing problems at you but I want answers before i can actually do any good.

Well, it wasn't going to be called "Moon Clan," but the hierarchy of Drow is lead by a clan representing the moons. And that one would be small because it would be the leaders of Chel'el'Sussoloth. If the clan is too large, there will be a higher chance of ill-usage of power.
The clans will interact within eachother as a family, but clans will be against eachother. This is because they have different view points. The Ilharess, however, is incharge of making sure that they can work together to the extent that the Drow civilization will prosper. But if the Ilharess is injured or threatened by another clan, the clans will go into all-out war.
I don't mind the questions; I'm actually happy for them! C:

So the Moon Clan is a group that governs the city. Is that it? So how exactly would they work?
-A Military force or an elected group?
-Will they be working together or is their a hierarchy there too?
-Also, will they be all women just like the Ilharess' of the clans or will there be men as well?
Answer these and i think i'll have all the info i need to start helping...

After doing research, the moon clan would be named the oldest clan that dates back to the original Dark Elves that lived with Light Elves. The clan's name would be Vel'Sharen. The Ilharess' title would be Val'Sharess, and all other clan member would have the last name Vel'Sharen. If we expand Chel'el'Sussoloth successfully, we can recieve more clan members into Vel'Sharen.
Vel'Sharen believes in noble blood and money, so they would be similar to a monarchy. They have ruled Chel'el'Sussoloth for over a millennium and pride themselves on showing off their power and bloodlines. All other clans obey the Vel'Sharen without questioning, and do not need to rule with a military, however a military is needed to protect the city from invasions. They ride dragons, however dragons have become weaker over the centuries and have undergone so much inbreeeding that they are dumb and only know how to follow orders.
Vel'Sharen is a mix of both men and women because they pride themselves on bloodlines instead of gender. They rule together, as one, but must obey their Ilharess at all times. The Ilharess will instruct the clan members to watch over certain parts of Chel'el'Sussoloth. They work as a family, the Ilharess being the parent.

The elves don't have a moon clan. The drow live underground, can't see the moon thus thier period of time of moonless age. The reason its called moonless is that after the great war between the north and the south clans. The north won banishing the southern clans, thus we found a new home underground. Once our ancestors evolved to the darkness, the southern clans quit thier alliance making in hard for us to return to the surface. This is caused by each clan wanting cotroll over the city. Laca please do not tell me you add your own words to the history. The Vel'Sharen's Ilharess is called Val'Sharess They did help build the city, have been the ruling clan of the city for a millennium. The dragons are not dumb, do follow order. They only evolved and are unable to fly.

I know this, but the moon clan was a tradition passed down from the Dark Elves. The moon clan is now about magic and bloodlines, but the symbol is of the moon phases. The moon clan also partakes in making sure that Chel'el'Sussoloth does not become infected by tainted magic. Although they traditionally represent the moons, they no longer worship it. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, since moon worship is from the time of Dark Elves, not Drow.
However, dragons are unable to make their own decisions. They can only follow orders. This is because of the inbreeding lead from being trapped underground. They are unable to fly, but also do not have the mental capability to think on their own. C:

Dragon are like every other animal they don't care if they imbreed it doesn't make you get lower intellegence. It not called the moon clan is called Vel'Sharen.TheyVel'Sharen are not the same clan who s against tainted magic thats the Val'Kyorl'solenurn. It's already posted in the clan, they are pretty much like crusader from medevil times.

That's good to hear! : D Now we just need our Ilharess... ^^; but inbreeding does cause lower intelligence, like it does to humans. It's a proven research~ It won't show signs for the first few generations, but there is a high chance of malformity of birth. If the malformity is inbread into others, it will spread into the entire population. The most common case of inbreeding malformity is the brain unable to process the desired amount information it could during previous generations. I know this because I grew up on a farm and have studied agriculture my whole life. C:

That research is for humans and only humans. Animals have gone so many more evolutions while humans have only went thoguh 12 and have been the same for like 3 million years because unlike animals we have technology. You know you will never hear of a retarded animal because they live by survival, wile humans live by technology.Animals become independent at an age of a month. While humans become dependent at 18. Thus survival of the fittest kills the retard, unlike humans who keep and train thier retarded.
