Louisa had a new dog and a new cat and so of course she had to buy new things. She also felt the need to buy Smudge a new collar as well. So she had found herself at the pet store. She had food for her cats, for the dogs, for all her other small pets. One day she was sure her parents would go crazy with just how many animals were in their house. For now though Louisa was more then happy to bring in more.

She had however discovered a problem. She didn't know you could get so many types of collars. There were stupidly pretty collars, normal ones, chains, spiked collars. How did one decide what collar they were going to get their dog? She let out a soft sigh and picked a random one up, checking the price. Ouch, when did collars get so pricey? Well she might as well pick two that she liked the look of then. She would just get her parents to give her some money towards them. Now which ones to pick?

When Emily shopped, it was always with great purpose and determination, This was pretty much true with anything Emily did, but shopping was something special to her. It was like having a miniature adventure, full of untold treasures and mysteries. This particular trip to the store was even more of an adventure, though. It was her first time shopping for a pet. And it was her pet at that. Her cat-thing pet. Of course Mr. Monty didn't exactly see himself as her "pet" but Emily was willing to overlook his sulking and acting-out for now. Because he gave her a perfect excuse to buy....well...whatever it was she need to buy for a cat-thing.

With a large cart and unlimited gold card firmly in hand, Emily fearlessly strode down the aisles, ready for whatever bright and shiny piece of pet-wonder that should catch her attention and prove to be something that she (and Mr. Monty) could not live without. But first, she felt, it would probably be best to buy him some food. "Hopefully they have something organic that won't cause him to rot slowly from the inside out," she murmured cheerfully to herself.

Louisa eventually picked two collars, a red one for the girl, a blue for the boy. Nice and simple. Right was that it? She looked through everything she had and then cursed. Damn she forgot the cat's meat. She had the biscuits but not the meat food. Her cats wouldn't be happy if she didn't bring home some tinned meat.

"Tuna, Salmon, turkey, chicken? Geesh what to get them today...." Louisa mumbled to herself somewhat. Animals always got such a choice of food and it all cost the same.

"They had tuna the other day... maybe salmon... they do like their fish."

Shelves piled high with giant bags and gleaming towers of cat food loomed above Emily. Bright labels, showing happy cats and proclaiming things like "Softer Fur!" "Cat's Love it BEST!" and "LOSE THE WEIGHT AND KEEP IT OFF!" - stared down at her. She stared back with growing alarm.

She had underestimated this store, and now she was forced to make a decision that may possible make Mr. Monty hate her. Or make him gain weight, until he was nothing more than a tubcat oddity whose brightest future lay in bad youtube memes and Oprah. He could get diabetes.

Maybe she should get them all. She should just get them all. She was going to get them all. Whipping her head around, she spotted another girl nearby, and stated, all wide-eyed panic, "I'm going to get them all. That's the only way to save him, right?"

Louisa turned around as she heard someone say something and laugh.

"Your first pet?" Louisa spent a lot of time in this shop and so saw a lot of first time pet owners become slightly overwhelmed with the choice of food. There was a lot of brands with different flavours, some even had vegetables in. She never understood why someone would feed vegetables to cats which are clearly meat eaters.

"Get something really full of meat. Cats like their meat." She smiled at the girl before picking up a can that said full fat meat. It also had a picture of a pig on the front of it.

Emily stifled a sigh of relief as the girl started talking. She sounded knowledgeable. "Yes, my very first pet," Emily answered, a touch of pride in her voice before she paused to consider. "Well," she continued honestly, "...there was the shark. But that's in the past, and this is my very first cat. Thing." She was fairly certain now that he was definitely not a robot.

She eyed the can happily until she noticed the pig, "This won't make him fat, will it? He won't get diabetes, will he?"

"Cat thing?" She wasn't use to cats then? Oh unless she had one of those talking cats? No, she had heard of two, Chloe and Astraea she doubted there could be more then two talking cats. That would be weird.

"A shark?" Yes this only just registered. Did she say she had a pet shark? Well... each to their own. Louisa wasn't a fan of fish, any type of fish dead or alive. Smelly things.

"Erm no it won't make him fat, just feed him half the tin in the morning and half at night and he should be fine. You can always get some toys to make sure he exercises." One of Lousia's cats was a hunter so she didn't worry about her but the other one, he slept and ate and slept and ate and was so fat. Then again he was fat when she got him.

"Whats your cat called?" Louisa was curious, she loved to hear what people named their pets.

Finally relaxing, Emily greatfully took down half a dozen cans of the pig-cat-food cans and placed them in her cart. How fortunate she had found someone competent to assist her in this hazardous expedition. Starting to feel a little more confident, she added a couple fish-cat-food cans of the same brand as well. She would do this, and do it well.

"His name is Mr. Monty, well...Montecristo. But that's a bit too..." Her voice drifted off as she considered all the wonderul kitty excersize equipment she was going to buy him. Did they make tiny treadmills....or what about one of those vibrating belts?! Remembering her manners, she turned back to the other girl and held out her hand, "My name is Emily Moffat, would you be willing to assist me in this endeavor?" She asked with the undertone of: Your mission, should you choose to accept it...

Wow long cat name. She smiled though and added some of the tins into her own basket. They were having pig and cow and ooo a duck one. Yep no more fish for a few weeks, she could only take the smell of cat fish breath for so long.

"Hey, I am Louisa McIntyre and I would be happy to assist you. I have a new cat and a new dog to buy stuff for. I like spoiling my pets." She smiled as she spoke half wondering whether she should try and get a part time job at the pet store. She could do with the staff discount but then with patrolling? No she couldn't fit it in. She would just have to take some more photos of the senshi she met. She needed some money after all.

"Whats your cat like? That will help you pick some toys for him." She smiled as she spoke wondering what toys she could get her cats. Wind up mice without a doubt. What cat doesn't like a good wind up mouse?

The question made Emily pause. They had only just met really, and their relationship was still a bit...unpredictable. "He's violent..." she began, showing a hesitancy that was rare,"...and he's bossy." Neither of which she really minded, to be honest. She actually found it more endearing than anything. She began to smile as she continued, "His personal hygiene is extremely questionable, and he seems to like my bed." He also had a vindictive streak, but Emily decided to keep that to herself.

There were cat toys based on personality? Time and again, Emily found herself amazed at the extent of human ingenuity. Impressed, she added, "Cat toys must be very advanced."

A vicious cat? Louisa was slightly surprised, she hadn't come across a vicious cat before. Toys for a vicious cat... erm.... she would have to think about this.

"Oh no, not really but different types of cats will or wont do different things. One of my cats is really lazy and won't move for anything and the other is a hunter, so I get treat toys for the lazy one because he will move for food and then the string ones or wind up mice for the other one." She hoped that explained it. Cats were generally demanding and bossy, that was normal... oh she had an idea!

"What about one of these... they are generally quite pricey but it could give him his own house as it were." She was pointing at one of those scratch posts that had several levels to it, with little 'rooms' for the cat to sleep it. She had never got one but then her cats probably wouldn't like it. Though if this cat was vicious and bossy then maybe a place of his own wouldn't be too bad?

"As for the hygiene, you can try and give him a bath but cats generally wash themselves." She smiled at Emily and continued to think about what toys to get a bossy violent cat.

Wind-up mice. That sounded promising. Even though Mr. Monty had turned out to not be a robot cat, she was sure that he would enjoy owning a robot mouse. Almost like a pet for her pet. However, the word "pricey" jolted her out of her musings and she turned to where the other girl was pointing. Staring, Emily murmered, "It's like a cat fortress."

Extremely pleased, she waved over a salesperson, "The biggest, most advanced one like that. I'll have someone come to pick it up shortly," she pointed at the large post. If Mr. Monty really liked it, and she was sure he would, then she'd get a second, smaller one for their dorm room.

The bath thing made her want to sigh. She just hoped the bathing situation would go smoothly from now on. "I think I've something of a compromise with him, when it comes to bathing." She just hoped it worked. Of course it would work. She would make it work. Straightening a little, Emily turned and asked, "Miss McIntyre, do you know if they carry robotic mice, as well as wind-up ones?"

Louisa was slightly shocked when the girl ordered the 'cat fortress' but then she wondered if the girl was a Crystal girl. They were the ones with all the money right? It didn't really matter, that would at least be one spoilt cat.

"A robotic mouse?" A robot mouse? Louisa looked confused for a minute or two. She seriously wanted a robotic mouse for her cat? Well it would probably be more mouse like but she hadn't ever seen one.

"I have never come across a robotic mouse before. You could check on the internet maybe?" She was at a complete loss at a robotic mouse and by the fact that she had been called Miss McIntyre and not Louisa.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:03 pm

The answer made Emily look slightly downcast, "I've been...banned from the internet. There was a situation." The black-hole generator hadn't even worked. Properly. Maybe she could find someone to make one for her, like one of the scholarship girls at the academy or one of the other nearby schools. Miss Mindy could probably use a science-minded minion anyways. The thought of multi-tasking like that, perked Emily right back up, "I'll just work around that, though."

In lieu of a robotic mouse, Emily picked up a couple wind-up ones to tide Mr. Monty over for now. A little uncertain about her next question, she cleared her throat with a small cough and asked, "Ah...I've heard that there are ways to train a cat to...use a toilet. Would you happen to know how to go about such training?" It not that she didn't trust Mr. Monty. She simply had very high standards when it came to Miss Mindy's household.

"Oh... you could use the internet at the library?" She couldn't help but wonder why it was that she was banned from the internet but there were always ways around these things. After all Louisa had been banned from the internet a couple of times, though of course she had found ways around them.

"Oh erm yeah, I haven't ever tried it but you can get a litter tray that fits in the toilet so that they start using it and then once they stop sitting in the tray and on the toilet to take it away but you will need more then one toilet in the house as taking the litter tray out could ruin the training." Yes Louisa knew too much about animals and training them but then she had spent years reading about them. Though she had never seen the point of toilet training cats. Each to their own as it were.
