Nobody knows about bari? ...I find that hard to believe. The only thing I play that not a lot of people know about is mellophone. I tell them it's the marching equivalent of a French horn and they're like "Ohhhhhh, that thing." But I only play brass. Errbody knows brass.

Yeah another sax they might not know about is the Contrabass Sax.
And even though its not an uncommon instrument, I play Bassoon and not very many people knew what it was.

Whenever I tell people that im in marching band and they ask what I play, I always have to go into a long description of a melophone and how I play horn in band.

I'm personally a fan of the subcontrabass flute. Not that I play it (I play clarinet and alto sax, haha), but I love it. Click me for subcontrabass love.
Also, I like the didgeridoo. A guy at my school can play it. xD

Terra of the Lilies I've never heard of this "saxaphone" you speak of. Maybe a "saxophone"... you've never heard of the saxaphone!? it's a mythical instrument, usually only available to the musically pure minds of a beginning saxophonist. don't be mislead, though. plenty of people will try to offer a "saxaphone" but it's really a "saxophone" the subtle difference in spelling sometimes confuses serious buyers and they end up buying a boring saxophone, when they were after the ever elusive "saxaphone". i, personally, have never seen a real saxaphone, but i've heard stories. it's a magical creature, it creates music seemingly without the musician's concious effort. to the untrained ear, it sounds like nothing but a dying gaggle of geese. to the highly tuned, much-practiced ear of a seasoned musical virtuoso...it's heaven.

Oh, well that is certainly an overlooked instrument, then!

English Horn?
Or a Euphonium, which is similar to a Baritone.
