Kimya was holed up in his 'den' next to the river bed with a leg of antelope in his maw. He'd stayed there all day just to keep the hyena's away and now his legs were starting to cramp up. Looking down at his prize he sighed. It was all that was left of last weeks kill. Even the flies had left.
Dragging it out with him, he jogged down to the river bed. It felt like heaven to be able to move again. His flourescent fur, though dingy and dank, glistened like fresh water. Kimya looked about him before breaking out into the open. He was a wary lion. No one was to be trusted and all should be feared. Seeing nothing, he tossed he scraps to the crocs and took a moment to stretch his legs.

 The blue male might think he was alone in the early morning light, but a pair of lavender eyes were watching the blue male curiously. Zana hadn't seen anyone around, besides her family, in a few days so she had assumed the area was unoccupied. Tilting her head she watched him feed the waiting water lizards then stretch.
"Hello there." Her voice was light and musical, almost like a flute playing as she slipped down from her perch on a low branch. How he could have missed seeing the white and lavender lioness was a wonder, but it was if she had simply appeared out of no where.
"Beautiful day isn't it?"

Kimya's tail dived for cover between his legs the second he heard a voice. Timidly he turned around, hunching down to make himself smaller. If he could speak he would be stunned. Never in his years had he seen a coat that pure. It was slightly blinding, if not embarrassing to know that he'd missed it.
He tried to respond to her, but after voicing air he remembered his disability. Kimya's ear folded back as he nodded. The closer she came, the further away he scuttled. Females were the enemy and as young as she was, she was capable of the same things his mother was.

Zana stopped when she noticed that he was frightened, and craned her head around looking for the threat. Why would such a strong looking lion be so afraid? It couldn't...he wasn't scared of her was he?? Tilting her head she looked at him putting on her best gentle smile.
"I am Zana, I am not trespassing on your lands am I? " She sat down a few feet from him, curling her tail around her haunches. "If so I am very sorry, I have been traveling for awhile and this seemed like a good place to rest. I can move on if you like?"
Her voice was oddly soothing as she spoke to him, careful not to seem to be staring at him straight on. Father always told her the best way to deal with someone frightened was to make yourself seem harmless as possible. Of course he had meant lost little cubs, but why shouldn't it work for a nervous adult too?

The male quirked his head to the side. Was it possible she didn't know what a danger she was? Weren't girls trained for that from birth? Kimya was confused, but stayed wary.
He shook his head at her question, sitting up a little straighter despite himself. At the first sign of an attack he would strike out at her, but until then he could pretend to be social. Kimya held up his paw and sat it back down on the ground. This was his land, her land and everyone's land. Taking a claw, he formed a circle in the dirt and ran a line through it. No pride lands here.
Zana was trying her best to be nice, which meant she wasn't evil, but that just made Kimya more confused. What the hell was wrong with her? She should be demanding her space, not asking him what he preferred. Kimya sat himself back down and flashed a little smile.

Her smile brightened when he mimed that it was free land, " Well good! I would like a few days rest before I travel onward." It was hard to be wary of her sweet smile and open nature. "Do you travel too? I was traveling with my family for the most part but lately I have been thinking of finding a permanent home. "
She had enjoyed the roving lifestyle of her family when she was young, but as she grew the adventures become less and less exciting and more and more about staying wary of being in another pride's lands. Too, the older she seem to get the more her thoughts turned to finding a good place to settle into a life, perhaps her own family some day.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts she looked back at the big, blue male again and smiled more. "Are you alone?"

Kimya tilted his head, quirking one ear up like a curious puppy. Where was she going on her own? Didn't females travel in packs? Her carefree nature was infectious, but it still didn't tame the demons in his head. If anything, it made him more suspicious. Like someone waiting for the rug to be pulled out of them when they were too full of pie to walk away.
He nodded his head and patted the ground softly. Yes, he travelled, but this was his home. It wasn't great, but it would have to do. Then again he made a sweep around him to show that he was the only one. It had been that way for a while, and as much as he hated it, it was better than living at home.

She giggled softly ears flicking as she watched him. "Do you mind I stay here for awhile? Just to rest before I travel on. " She tilted her head too when he perked up his ear and giggled again. "I promise I won't be a bother, you won't even know I am here."
"I am only staying a few days, I have a destination in mind. My mother told me of a pride that I think might suit me...but more than that she has told me of an aunt living there who can tell me more about my family."
She wanted to know what was wrong with her family, so many were cursed.

A twitch started up in his eye. Stay? Here? With him? He eyed her warily as the disappoint seeped into his stomach. She wasn't going to leave any time soon, then.
Kimya brushed his paw over top of the other, but couldn't come up with a reason for her to leave. They were both in rogue lands so this was as much her territory as it was his. Reluctantly, he nodded in agreement.
At least it was only for a few days. He didn't much care about her story anymore. He was too busy panicing. Then his stomach growled and he rolled his eyes to the sky.

She smiled faintly noticing the twitch, so he wasn't too happy with her staying around after all. "I can leave if you like, never let it be said that I forced myself where I wasn't wanted." Standing, she stretched with a soft hum before looking around.
When she heard his belly rumble she actually laughed, tossing her hair back from her eyes, " Tell you what stranger...If I can provid a breakfast for both of us..I can stay." She smirked playfully, "What do you have to loose other than a bit of your time."

Kimya had to admit that a meal would be nice and since he was planning on letting her stay for free, this was an added bonus. He nodded, watching her movements for a sign of hostility.
He hopped up onto his paws, tossing his fluffy mane out of his eyes. With a chirp, his only actual sound, he nodded back to the right and walked. It was the best hunting ground in the area, but he had yet to catch anything from there. If she could, well....his pride would be bruised, that was for sure.

Zana blinked after him then chuckled weakly when she realized he was heading for the hunting grounds. "Uh, actually I was going to catch us some fish. I am rather partial to fresh fish." She smiled padding towards the river.
"Is that ok with you?" Without really waiting for an answer, she slipped into the water with a soft sigh of contentment. Unlike more big cats...Zana was a true water baby. Keeping a careful eye out for the great river beast, she began to wade, her head snapping down like a snakes to come back up with fat wiggling fish in her mouth.

Kimya's shocked state showed in his face and caused him to pad to a slow stop before sauntering behind her. He'd never been much of a fisher himself, but he loved the water. It was one of the rare moments he remembered his mother sharing with him that hadn't been pain filled.
Without answered her he slipped in the water part ways and sat down, stirring little ripples with his tail. When she snapped up with her fish, his mouth made an 'O'. She was really good!

She turned her head when she felt the water ripple, her eyes widening in surprise that he was in the water, but she tried to smile around the fish, nearly dropping it. She had never met another lion that liked being in the water.
Padding towards him, she offered him the still twitching fish with a patient look. He would have to take that one so that she could catch more after all.

Kimya leaned forward hesitantly and tried to snatch the fish away from her quickly. In his haste it slipped out and tail smacked him, belly flopped back into the water. He put on a determined face and dove in after it.
In a moment he bobbed back up to the surface soaked to the bone with the fish in his mouth.
