Who: Lazarus, Cordelia, Ebony Where: At Ebony's house When: A days after Christmas, afternoon Weather: Cold and wet
It was a day after Christmas, Lazarus meant to make his visit before Christmas. But alas, Kyou had to anchor the Sigel to the lab to help with Christmas decorations. Lazarus didn't know what the decorations were for, there weren't any parties or anyone visiting at all, he just don't see the point for the decorations. Perhaps Kyou was just trying to give the lab a more festive look, to enlighten the dampening atmosphere the infection had given to the lab, he's not very sure. Or maybe Kyou is just trying to keep Lazarus busy, some people think that distracting yourself with work is a good way to get over certain traumatizing events, helping the emotional scar to heal. Lazarus wasn't sure if the scientist's efforts were working or not, but today will definitely be one big step forward. Hopefully.
Floating up to the double storey house's porch, Lazarus was wrapped in a white turtleneck and a thick black pea coat, both of which was customized to have slits and zips on the back for his wings. Stretching his boney wings, the Sigel gave it a gentle shake to get rid of the thin layer of snow that gathered on it.
Lazarus stared at the front doors warily, here he is, in front of Ebony's house. He don't know what to expect, since the last time he attempted to apologize didn't work out as well as he expected, he was sure that Hazeline haven't forgave him yet. A shiver ran down his spine as he recalled the memory in his mind, Cordelia's smell, her taste. Closing his eyes the Sigel tried to shook the image out of his mind. It was wrong, she was just a new born. Lazarus wasn't sure how this is going to turn out in the end, but he won't know if he just stayed quietly outside on the porch like an idiot. Gathering his courage, he raised a hand and rattled on the front doors. He felt himself sweating inside his shirt even though it is a cold and snowy day as he waited for an answer not so patiently.

It was rare and mostly unheard of for Ebony to leave Cordelia alone for any major length of time, yet she had today. Since the girl was no longer virus infected she felt it would be fine to leave her while she went out and took care of a few errands. Besides, the Snake was becoming more and more stubborn about leaving the house these days. One look outside to the cold snow covered landscape and she'd practically barricaded herself in her room. Not that Ebony could blame her, the Brit not really wanting to go out herself, but someone needed to get the groceries.
After she was sure her guardian had left, Cordelia finally slipped out of her room and returned to her beloved fireplace. Ebony must have known she'd eventually return to her favorite spot because the fire was blazing bright while a small stack of logs sat to one side of the hearth just in case. With a more than pleased smile, the Basilisk snuggled deeper into her blanket, sleep not too far off now.
And that's when she heard it, a rough rap to the front door. Her smoke filled orbs looked to it annoyingly. Who was this to interrupt her perfect peace? The girl thought to ignore it since Ebby had said she was not to answer if she wasn't around. But then again...maybe it was the mailman, and maybe he had another present! This prospect had the girl leaping from the couch and making a beeline for the door.
Quickly she undid the locks and threw the door open, a fairly big smile on her face. That was...until she saw who it was standing there. Suddenly that smile turned into a hateful scowl as she hissed and flared her wings at the Sigel. Ebby was right to tell her not to open the door. Now she was alone and he was there. Well he wouldn't get any chances of hurting her this time, she'd make sure of that. Delia quickly tried to close the door before Lazarus could get inside.

When the door opened, he was surprised that it wasn't Ebony who appeared beyond the doorway, but Cordelia. Crimson eyes staring in shock, Lazarus's throat tied into a knot immediately, didn't know what to say as Cordelia scowled at him, her dangerous looking wings flared. Oh boy.
It wasn't until Cordelia tried to slam the door on him that he reacted. "Wait!" he cried in a strangled voice. Using more force than he should, Lazarus slammed his palm onto the door to prevent it from closing on him, and resulting in pushing the door back a little instead. Realizing what he just did, the Sigel quickly withdrawn his hand as he floated a little close to the door, but didn't make any sudden moves that might indicate a force entry. "Wait, I-I came here to just... talk." he said, a look of regret dawning on his face.
"Is... Ebony not in?" he asked a little timidly as he tried to look beyond Cordelia into the house.

She tried to push harder on the door when it was met with some resistance, but to her utter dismay, Lazarus proved once again just how much stronger than her he truly was. The murderous look on her face deepened, but stopped trying to force the door closed since nothing she could do would make it at this point. Though with the Sigel's advance, the Basilisk slithered back just as much, keeping the distance between them constant.
Cordelia watched him fidget slight while trying to peek around her to the house's inner sanctum. Crossing her arms over her chest, the young femme floated higher to match him and spread her wings to block his view. He was not allowed to look upon the place she called home. With a cold metallic stare, dark lips set in a fine line, Delia shook her head. Let him figure out whether it was the answer to his question or whether it was her silent means of telling him he wasn't welcome inside. Perhaps it was even both.

Taking her shake of head as a a silent message of 'No Ebony is not in' and 'No you can't enter the house', Lazarus decided to inch a little backwards to where he was, it was clear that this was going to be a brief meeting if he weren't allowed inside. Expected, really. Lazarus frowned inwardly, he wasn't sure how much he could do in a situation like this, especially with Cordelia being just a newborn too. Judging from the fact that she haven't spoken, she probably doesn't know how yet? Would she understand his apology? Maybe he should come back another time? Troubled, The Sigel just stayed in spot momentarily wondering what to do next.
Ah, to hell with this stupid worry.
"Wait a moment." Lazarus said as his hand dive into his sling bag. After rummaging for a bit he produced two neatly wrapped gift packages.
He pulled out a small marker pen as well, the Sigel use it to grocery shop sometimes. Hastily, he wrote the words 'I'm sorry.' on the purple package. Pausing for a moment, he added 'from Lazarus' at the end of the message in much smaller writing.
Then he raised his eyes to meet with Cordelia's again. Closing his eyes momentarily, he drawn in a long breath before opening the crimson orbs again. "I-I'm sorry for what I... did to you back then." he said, touching his own neck, the spot where he... attacked on Cordelia when he went mad. "This is for you, as an apology." Cautiously he held out the dark brown paper package in one hand towards the smoky Frei. "This purple one is for Ebony." he said, motioning towards the purple one in his other hand. Slowly, he extended the arm as well, waiting for Cordelia to accept it.

The older Raevan's sudden display of retreat gave Cordelia a deep rooted satisfaction, as if she'd just won a battle between a long warring foe. A smile laced with a tiny bit of smugness to it snaked its way onto her lips, yet when Lazarus stopped and merely floated in place silently and did not depart, the smile slipped away again. What was with this guy? Did he not get the hint? Did she have to force him away? Although she wasn't so sure how well that would go over since she couldn't even get the door to close on him, but hell if she wouldn't try!
Just when the girl advanced closer to the Sigel, calculating thoughts of how to physically move him further away, she was suddenly assaulted with two finely wrapped packages. Presents? A slow blink slid over those scaled lids, sharp wings dropping from their flared position and her demeanor in whole softening some. Cordelia had been expecting possibly a fight, more pain from Lazarus, but not this. Not an apology and most definitely not gifts. Conflicting emotions fought for dominance within her then. On the one hand, she was still upset of how he'd hurt her and made her feel weak. Yet...she really wanted the present! But accepting such a thing meant she was accepting his apology too. Delia sighed and swayed a bit in contemplation. Oh what was she to do?
It was then a giant gust of wind decided to pick up and rush at her into the house. The Basilisk gasped and shivered greatly at the sudden cold swirling about her. In her anger she'd forgotten the current condition of the weather outside. Her grey eyes shot back inside to the fireplace and went wide as she watched it get snuffed out. Panicking, Cordelia quickly forgot the gifts and the other Raevan as she rushed to where the fire had once been. It was totally out and she didn't know how to actually set a new one. Ebony had only put the logs out so she could keep the fire going when it was low. Now what was she to do? Delia had no idea how long her woman would be. The despairing thought made her pout sadly.

The sudden gust of wind caught Lazarus off guard too as it swirl pass him and into the house. He did not notice the fire in the fireplace went out, but the panicked look on Cordelia's face as she disappeared from the doorway was unmissable.
Curious on what was going on, the Sigel tentatively peeked into the house, not daring to enter just yet. That was when he saw the basilisk Raevan huddled by the fireplace, looking awfully sad. A thin layer of smoke rose up from smouldering logs, indicating that there was a fire there just a short moment ago. Is she sad that the fire went out?
Cautiously and a little hesitantly, he entered through the front doors. He wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing or not, since Cordelia so strongly suggested that the house was out of bounds just minutes ago, but he felt the urge to help. Silently, he closed the door just a tad, leaving a few inches open just in case he needed a swift escape. Then settling the gift packages on a table nearby, he approached the fireplace slowly, making sure that he kept a good distance from the Frei at the other side of the fireplace.
"I'm just here to help." he said, keeping an eye on Cordelia all the time as he moved slowly and deliberately, careful not to have any sudden movements. As his hand touched the dying embers in the fireplace, the half burnt logs burst into flames immediately. The fire licked his hands harmlessly as he withdrawn it from the flames.

Her fingers caressed through the quickly dissipating smoke, the tendrils leaking through her fingers and disappearing altogether. Cordelia made a sour, dissatisfied face. Cold smoke was so icky and tasted like mud not that she'd ever tried mud, but it was what Ebony always said when she ate something that was unpleasant. Besides, warmth was always a plus to the cold blooded Raevan.
At the elder male's voice and approach, Cordelia instinctively raised her wings, a hiss rising in her throat. Then she remembered that the other wasn't here to hurt her, in fact at the moment he seemed genuinely concerned. Folding her wings back down and biting her bottom lip, the Basilisk nodded, but made sure to keep her own eyes on him as he was her then.
She leaned in closer to Lazarus, curious as to what he was going to do. Whenever Ebony started the fireplace she had one of those long fire starter sticks, though Cordelia knew there had to be more to it than just that. Seemed too simple to her. Yet when the embers suddenly jumped back to life it made the Snake jump back as well. She came back though with a look of complete awe on her face, her mouth making a small 'o' shape. Looking up to Lazarus now, Delia's silver eyes shone with something akin to admiration. He was a fire summoner!
A genuine smile on her face, the Frei gave the other a hug in thanks. Though she'd only meant for it to be a quick gesture, Cordelia soon found it was hard to pull away from him. Lazarus she found was very very warm, much like the warmth of the fire he'd just started back up again. Thought went out the window when the Snake's instincts took over, wanting to be warm she snuggled closer to the Incubus. Was it her imagination or did he smell a little like smoke too?

Lazarus's cautiousness swiftly evolved into one of surprised when Cordelia stared at him, her mouth slightly agape as if impressed. It was just the simple gesture of lighting the fire, nothing too out of the ordinary, at least for the firey Sigel anyway. It did not dawn on him that his powers were unique to him only and probably not a lot of Raevan had seen an ability like that.
What Lazarus did not expect however, was the hug that came next. Initially he thought Cordelia was going to attack him, the smile was probably a friction of his imagination. He panicked just for a split second there. But when reality finally dawn on him and it was a hug - one that doesn't seemed brief at that, a blush crept onto the Sigel's cheek at the bodily contact.
"Cordelia?" he asked, feeling flustered. "W-what are you doing?" Gently he placed his hands onto the Frei's shoulder, but that was the moment the basilisk Raevan decided to tighten the hug. He can feel her boobs pushing into his chest as his blush darken. How can this be? She was threatening to attack him just moments ago. Unless... Then a dark thought came upon the Sigel. Don't some snakes wrap themselves around their prey and try to squish the life out of them? He remembered watching something like that on TV. According to lab data, Cordelia was formed with the soul of a basilisk - a large snake. Although she is not a snake now, but is she instinctively trying to kill him?
Panic rose within the firey Sigel as he pressed his hands onto the Frei's shoulders, trying to gently yet firmly push her away. He don't want to agitated her anymore than he did already. "Cordelia! Please let go of me!"

She couldn't see his blushing, but Cordelia felt his body temperature spike up slightly, something she relished. When he tried to pull away she instinctively gripped him tighter, not wanting to be cold again so soon. He reminded her of Zul, but his heat was different, wild somehow. The Baphomet's had always felt like it was being held in check by something else sometimes, yet Delia was unable to place a finger to it exactly.
Again Lazarus wriggled in her embrace, trying to get away. Did he not like her hugging him? She couldn't possibly be hurting him since it was very obvious how much stronger he was than her. Thus Cordelia clung to him and shook her blackened head in a resounding no. She didn't want to go back to being cold again just yet. But his voice...it'd gone up an octave or two, the panic in it quite apparent. Lifting her eyes to meet his, they widened in shock at how red his face was now. Immediately she let go of him and backed up a bit. It was true, Cordelia didn't always know her own strength, but she was sure nothing she could do would be enough against the likes of him. He was older after all and they were suppose to be stronger right? But maybe, maybe she had hurt him! There had been a time where she would have liked nothing more, but not now. Not after his apology and his help.
Biting her lip, the Basilisk slowly drifted closer again and reached her hand up to one of his still blushing cheeks. As carefully and gently as she could, Delia traced her fingers over the skin there, half wondering what was causing it. She wanted to apologize, but she didn't know how. Not in his tongue. So she did the only thing she could, quietly repeat his name as she remembered hearing it. "Lazarus..." She hoped in that one word she could convey the feelings she felt then to him.

Lazarus heaved an audible sigh as Cordelia finally let go of him, his middle section felt more relieved as the Frei's body left his. He was still feeling a little flustered, wary eyes looking at the Frei as she backed away, looking rather guilty. Maybe it wasn't an attack after all?
When Cordelia moved in closer though, Lazarus didn't make any move, because from the Frei's expression he could see that she means no harm. His crimson eyes were set on the other's smoky grey orbs, feeling them draw him in as her fingers traced his skin. The gentle gesture felt a little ticklish, but he found the coldness comforting somehow. Staring into the mesmerizing grey eyes, the Sigel's mind was blank as he was lost in them. The mention of his name drawn him back to reality gently, his gaze broke from Cordelia's momentarily. Her voice, it was the first time she spoke to him. There was a tinge of sadness to her voice, and he understood what it means.
Closing his eyes, a small smile of relief spread across his lips as he touched Cordelia's hand on his cheek gently. She was... apologizing to him, when he came here to apologize to her. At least he knew now that she is no longer mad at him, and that made him felt so much better. "It's okay." he nodded as he opened his red eyes.
"Here," The Sigel began as he wheeled around, retrieving the packets from the table where he had set them on earlier, bringing them to the basilisk Raevan. "You can open them if you want." he said as he presented the gifts to Cordelia once more. It just felt appropriate to do this again, now that they are not as cautious with each other anymore. Although Lazarus still wondered why she wouldn't let him go when she hugged her just now. Maybe it was one of those weird quirks some Raevans developed.

Those seldom blinking orbs watched as the tension in the male finally melted away, even daring to take her hand in his. And then he smiled. It wasn't a huge production of sorts, merely a small upper pull on the corners of his lips, something that could easily be thought to have been imagined if one wasn't careful to notice. But Cordelia was watching and that minuscule facial expression made her heart flutter a bit. In fact her wings gave a few happy clicks as she smiled broadly at the fire Raevan. He wasn't so bad after all.
Cordelia almost pouted again when he pulled away, but soon her smile was as bright as ever. The gifts! She'd totally forgotten about them what with the whole fireplace going out and all. In a very giddy and child-like manner, the Basilisk took the presents and debated which to open. Lazarus had said the purple one was for Ebony, but...Delia really wanted to open it too! Yet she didn't, simply sighing and placing it to the side for her woman later. It was really hard to be good sometimes.
Curiously, she shook the package deemed for herself. The contents rustled about softly, but gave no clear indication of what awaited inside. Immediately she ripped the gift open and drew out the...Delia blinked. What was it? She held it up to the light and watched the beads sparkle and twinkle. Well whatever it was it certainly was pretty.
Remembering the confusion of the hug earlier, the dark femme opted for gently patting his cheek in thanks. Then, well because she was a little embarrassed not knowing what it was or how it worked, Cordelia bashfully held it out to Lazarus. It was his gift, he should know how to work it after all.

Lazarus blinked when Cordelia held out the hair comb at him, it took him a moment to understood what she meant. "Oh." he said quietly, his mouth forming a small 'o'. Obviously the younger Frei doesn't know how to use it, although Lazarus was hoping she knew since she lived with an adult human female after all. Then again, he don't remember Ebony wearing much accessories the last time he saw her. For a moment the Sigel was wondering if he bought the appropriate gifts for them. Xiu told him that girls like pretty things, and he bought the gifts based on that concept alone.
Taking the comb from Cordelia, he stared at the glittering flower momentarily. "You are supposed to put this in your hair." Sliding the comb in between his fingers, he roughly bunched his hair into a messy ponytail. Then with one hand held to the ponytail, he held the comb with his other hand and did a sliding motion into his hair, with the comb side facing in. However, he did not slid the shiny accessory into his hair, that would looked.. odd.
"Here." he said, leaning forwards and urging Cordelia to come closer. Then holding the comb out with his hand, he reached over her head and slid the accessory into her ponytail, settling the pretty accessory into her hair nice and firmly. His smile widen as he moved back and admire his handy work. "You look pretty!"

She watched him closely as he fiddled with the accessory. It was obvious he wasn't well versed in these kind of things either and the thought made her not feel as dumb as she'd originally felt a moment ago. Humans had such odd bobbles and trinkets, Cordelia quickly surmised.
When Lazarus began pulling up at his hair like he was about to put it in a high ponytail like she'd seen her woman do hundreds of times now, the girl couldn't help but giggle a little. She'd never seen a boy with a ponytail before and it made her sad she wouldn't now as the Sigel just as quickly allowed his long flowing hair to fall back to its normal place. Cordelia never realized how lovely the bi-colored locks were until now.
She was just about to reach out and touch a strand when Lazarus leaned in to place the glittering comb in her hair instead. The Snake blinked and rolled her eyes up to view it, but for obvious reasons she couldn't. That wasn't fair! But before her frustration could even begin to build, the Sigel's broad grin and compliment stopped it dead. He thought she was pretty? This bolstered Delia's ego and she floated higher, meeting his height once more and grinned brightly at him. Every minute that passed she was liking him more and more. She was sorry she'd ever wanted to see him hurting now.
Drunk on his presents and compliments, Cordelia boldly took the strand of his hair she'd wanted to touch. Gently she caressed it with her fingers, "Lazarus..." she murmured again in that velvet smoke tone.

The smile on Lazarus's face died down a little as Cordelia took a strand of his hair, his heart skipped a beat when she mentioned his name. Although she don't speak much, but her voice had a very alluring and seductive nature. It was... irresistible. He couldn't help but suddenly realized how close she was to him now, as she caressed his hair gently in her hand. So close, he could almost smell the smoky scent of her skin. So close...
Without realizing, Lazarus inched just a little bit closer to Cordelia. But a loud crack of the fire in the fireplace brought him back to reality. Eyes widen, he backed away a little. What was he doing? More importantly, what was he going to do?! He had lost himself momentarily back then, instinct taking over his logical mind. The Sigel would have committed the exact same crime that he came to apologize for. Blinking in realization, he decided that it is not a good idea to stay here for too long, especially if left alone with Cordelia like this. She is still a newborn for God's sake.
"I uhm... I think I should go." he began, backing away a little as he spoke, the strand of hair slipping out of Cordelia's fingers. He is trying to put some distance between himself and the Frei. "Please give that to Ebony alright?" Raising a finger he pointed at the purple package that the Frei had just settled aside. Then as calmly as he can, he turned around and headed to the front doors that was still slightly ajar.
Before he went out the doors though, he paused for a moment in front of the door, feeling the chilly wind air blowing through gently. Slowly he turned his head around to look at the black Frei. "I'm sorry." He repeated his apology, although whether this was intended for the incident that happened over a month ago, or the incident that almost happened just now, he wasn't very sure himself either. "Goodbye." And with that, he went out the doors, closing it behind him.
