His whole body ached as he slowly opened his eyes to the sunlight washing over his weary form. He groaned burying his face beneath his paws trying to block out the horribly bright sun. It was too early for this, no it wasn't early it was just soon. His body still needed to recover but his mind wasn't content to let him go back to sleep. No it was demanding that he get up so he did.
Slowly he pushed himself up wincing as his bones creaked and his muscles stung. He clenched his teeth together, closed his eyes, inhaled a few deep breaths before moving to stretch his limbs out. He hissed as pain spread through his body as he forced himself to continue stretching, he wouldn't push it to the point where he'd tear something, just enough that he was more loosened up.
He rolled his head back and flicked his tail as he slid back into a normal standing position. His jade colored eyes flickered over the the sleeping gray lioness and he smiled. He had spent so long looking for her and now that he had found her. Well it was worth all the effort and time that it took.
He moved over to her and lightly nudged herself. "Kilelo, I'm going to try and get something for you to eat, I'll be right back," he whispered to her. He didn't want to wake her, surely she had taken this much harder than he had. She had always been rather thin to begin with.
He turned away from her and headed out of the den eyes already searching for his prey.

For once, Kilelo's mind was completely blank. As she had slowly followed Kabili into the shelter of a nearby cave; she felt herself relaxing. Smiling weakly at her once again recovered companion she had laid down, no more strength in her weary legs. She kept her head up and alert until Kabili, too, was settled down and then she let it drop to the ground with a soft thump. As soon as her head was down she was out cold. As she slept, no dream passed through her mind. It was as if she was in a catatonic state, her body not even twitching as she slept. What a relief it was to be able to sleep like this, Kilelo had not yet realized.
The sun came up without Kilelo giving it any notice. As far as her body was concerned she wasn't moving from this very spot for at least a few more hours. However, her mind had laid dormant for long enough. There was some stirring in their cozy shelter, along with the soft murmur of Kabili's voice. Kilelo's odd colored eyes shot open just in time to see the male turn to leave. No, he couldn't! She didn't want to part with him just yet! There was no strength within her to get up and follow. Mustering all her will power, Kilelo quickly extended a foreleg, reaching it after Kabili. He was just about gone though, and the only contact she made was running an outstretched claw through tuft on his tail. She lay there, defeated, her voice but a tired whisper to herself,
"Waiiiit..."

Kabili paused a few feet away from the mouth of the cave. His brows knitted together as he glanced back, a frown upon his lips. He has sworn he had felt something scratch his tail as he walked away. Had he woken Kilelo up? Worry decorated his features and he immediately turned around and headed straight back in.
"Kilelo?"
He whispered leaning down and nudging her gently with his nose. He smiled as he sunk to his belly watching, waiting. "I'm here don't worry. If you don't want me to leave then I won't." He told her with a soft sigh.
He hadn't wanted to leave but he wanted to get some food into her, but if she really wanted him to stay, then he'd stay. He'd do anything for her.

Kilelo let out a sigh of exhaustion, her muscles not wanting to move at all. Willing forth some inner strength, Kilelo tucked in her paws, laying up straight and perking her head up. She didn't want Kabili to leave at all. Last time he'd left... Well, that was the last time she'd seen him. There was no way he was going to leave forever again, but her deep seeded paranoia wasn't ready to accept that yet.
"I feel like if I lose sight of you, I may never find my way back to you again"
She chuckled lightly, once she said the words they sounded much sillier than they seemed to inside of her head. The gray lioness looked at her male companion with adoration, savoring the sight. She'd heard him say he was going out to get food... Her body would have welcomed that! The girl was running on fumes, he last concrete meal being the remains of a zebra she'd found abandoned about a week ago. She still had no idea how that whole hunting thing worked, even now as an adult. Tries to do so always ended in failure. How the hell was she supposed to be so sneaky? This lack of ability cut deeply into her pride. She would rather not eat at all than be catered to. No matter how hungry she was. Maybe, if she rested up a little more, she'd go out and find some grubs to settling her roaring stomach. With a shake of her head Kilelo's focus went back to Kabili.
"Don't worry about hunting, I'm not hungry, really. There's no hurry."
Kilelo smiled as brightly as she could, though she couldn't supress the rumbles coming from her severely empty stomach.
