WAIT! Mash' halted in his actions, eyes snapping open and growing wide as he looked around with some concern. He'd said icky. That was something a girl would say! Hopefully no one had caught that. With a light grumble under his breath, the adol looked down at the ground under him before swiping his front paws out and coating them in a light layer of who knows what in the dirt and vigorously swatting some on his face and mane. He needed to man up and deal with it! All the fully grown males did this to prove that they were rough and tough, right?.. But ick.

"Hey, miss! I asked if you were alri-oooooh.." She stopped in the middle of her sentence, the last word merging with her sudden realization that this feline was a male, not a female. Whoops? 'Alright, more like a major screw up on my part..' Her ears slowly swiveled back at her mistake, paws shifting underneath her in the bush she had been next to before perking up and leaping out. More silence. Great.
"Uh.." Boy, was this awkward. "..You have a handsome coat, sir! You've got a large patch of moss or something like it caught up in your tail, though." ...Well crap.

'Miss?..' Mash' whipped his head around at the sound of another voice, closer than he'd like for a stranger to be. He pushed himself up off the ground and took a new pose, standing straight and puffing himself out slightly. He suddenly spotted the owner of the mysterious voice, a lion older than himself. Who was this? Why were they here? Oh god, had they caught him sorta acting like a female?! And.. wait, was this female calling him a fellow female? What was wrong with her?! "E-excuse me?!" He questioned with a look of confusion and anger on his face, meaning for his words to come out strong and smoothly, but instead, the result being a stutter. "I.. I... I'm a male!" Wonderful, more of this nervous stuttering. Was it because he was around a girl? A harsh blush went over his face as the realization of this caused him to become even more nervous than he had been before.
Silence.
He raised his eyes to look at the female through the almost tidy locks of mane that had shifted over his face during his moving around. The blush remained as more of the awkward silence went on after she had moved towards him. Mash' took a quick step back, keeping his eyes on her. She then commented on his coat. Well, that was a little flatteri-.. Wait. What moss? "I've been through no moss. And I'm sure tha-Wait." He thought to himself for a moment before shooting a glare at the other. "I'll have you know that patch of moss is my tail. I-.. I am also one of the Guards of this pride." The last part he made up, just a little. He aspired to be a Guard one day, but wasn't one just yet.
"What are you doing here, rogue?" Hmph! He wouldn't introduce himself to her. She'd been rude.

Ah hah, so it was just his tail!.. Oh. OH! "Oh jeeze." Maile said out loud, more to herself than to Mashina, giving a shake of her head at her sudden roll of stupidity with her encounter so far. "Look, I.. err... I'm sorry, alright?" She'd never been one for apologizing, especially during those few oddities of situations there were.. this being one of them. 'I should introduce myself, kinda rude not to when talking with someone you don't know.' Oh well, the apology would come first, then an answer for his question. "I honestly didn't mean to come off as such a beast with all those silly little words! Honest. Really am sorry for all that."
She wouldn't question his authority, if there was any, she being the outsider in this situation and the other actually with the pride. "I've just been traveling around, like some others like myself do, and I happened to make my way in this direction and bam! There was your pride.. I don't mean any harm, dude. I just happen to be in the area, s'all." Maile then morphed her mouth into a polite smile to the younger lion, trying her hardest to be a little more respectful after all of the things she'd said. "My name is Maile, I'm just a rogue."

The adolescent listened intently to the rogue lioness, awaiting some sort of answer as to why she had been so rude while looking at her through his bangs. Hm? Oh.. So she hadn't really meant any of that mean stuff she had gone and said about him. 'Well then. I.. I must look like quite the a** right about now.' Mashina thought to himself with a soft sigh through the nose, along with a mental smack to the forehead thrown in. "Ah... Well, I suppose it's alright.. I-I guess. I'll accept your apology, Maile, and look over those things you said." He still had to keep up that macho Guard charade he had come up with, though! He didn't want to look like a complete fool to this stranger. "So, you've been traveling around? You must be a little thirsty then, hm? I won't allow you onto our territory, bu~t.." Mash' dragged the last word out with a look of thought on his face as he looked around for a moment, keeping quiet before looking back at her with a sheepish smile. "I suppose I could escort you to the nearest watering hole." She was still a stranger, after all, and he wasn't about to go letting random felines into the pride lands. But he couldn't just stand there and not be a little friendly, now, could he?

Hooray, the awkwardness of the situation had somehow fluttered away! At his reply to her apology, Maile let a smile creep over her lips, giving a flick of her tail and letting out a soft chuckle. This boy's mood certainly swung from left to right a lot, now, didn't it? "Heh. Well thank you, sir." She said this after he had spoken, a hint of a tease in the word 'sir'. Mai' found it a bit odd that he had yet to give a name or proof that he was actually a Guard for his pride. Ah well~ Her ears perked at what he said next, his drawled out 'bu~t' catching her attention. But what? Seeing the smile he gave her caused Maile to let out a laugh. Certainly the odd one, but he was nice! "That would be appreciated 'lot's. Mind leading the way...?" The last sentence posed as a question to Mashina, asking at last for his name at last.

Mashina's maw quirked into a slight smirk from his previous smile at being called sir, he catching onto that bit of a tease added to it. Huh. 'I guess I'll have to work on the whole Guard charade a bit more around her.' "Oh, I'm s-sorry. My name.. it's... My name are.." Ugh! Why did this always happen around girls? He sucked in a quick breath before flashing her an embarrassed smile. "They call me Mash'." He never gave out his full name, and doubted that he would ever in the future. It sounded so.. so.. girly. Mashina? Gah! "I would be more t-than happy to. Just follow me, alright? I'll get you there safe and sound." Mash' gave a motion of his head, indicating her to follow after him, before starting off towards one of the smaller watering holes he had stumbled upon when he'd just grown into his adolescent self, back when he had felt the need to get out and explore during those odd times in the middle of the night. He turned his head to look back at her and.. And now that he'd taken a little time to absorb it all.. Boy, did she talk oddly. 'lot's? S'all? Dude? Bah, he wouldn't question her about it right now. Perhaps later on, but right now, his goal was to get her to some source of water to quench her thirst.

My, my, my! What an odd boy, with all that stuttering and scrambling of words. Ah hah! The nameless adol' finally had a name. Mash', huh? Did that just so happen to be a shortening of something much longer? "Alrighty then, I won't stray!" She replied with an affirmative nod of her head and a cheeky grin, all of the tension felt between the two of them before now evaporated for Maile. As he turned his head away, she couldn't help but to let out a chuckle, muffled by the paw she'd brought up to cover her mouth. There was a bit of a.. silly? Yes, silly was the right word. She felt a bit of a silly vibe coming from Mash'. Did all young males act like him? All macho and tough? Oh, he would be fun to play with while she had him around. Quickly lowering her paw and wiping the look off of her face, Maile gave a tilt of her head as he looked at her again. "I got something on my face?"

'..Did I happen to hear a laugh just before?' The male gave a slight shake of his green head, self-assured that it was just a trick of the wind or something. He continued to look at the black furred lioness before locking his eyes on her own green ones. Wait. WHAT, WHAT, WHAT?! Oh crap, she had actually looked back at him! He hadn't been expecting that at all. A blush spread over his face once again, a repeat of what had occurred when he had first gone and talked to her. "Ah! I.. Uh... I.." His mouth was agape and blue eyes widening from their previous state as he rambled on with senseless words in response. "Er.." A distraction! Another person! Something to get him out of this predicament! Mash' suddenly let out a forced cough, blush growing deeper as he shut his eyes and turned back around and sped up his pace. "C-come on, l-l-let's go!"

Maile gave a blink of surprise at the reaction he had to catching her eyes. "Oh!" She struggled to keep in a laugh that wanted desperately to leap out of her throat. That settled it! This little boy was adorable.. Adorable as in adorably silly. She gave a shake of her head and a silenced giggle as he stuttered and kept on letting words escape from his mouth, random things that made no sense when put together in a sentence. At his rushed order, Mai' continued to follow after the adolescent, giving a bit of a wag of her tail in her delighted state, paying no attention to where it was they were going. It was sort of fun watching how he squirmed and was so awkward about these simple little things so far. Oh, this boy. "Yes, sir~"

'Mash', you're being.. you're.. you're a... Gah!' Mashina yelled and rambled at himself in his head, absolutely frustrated now at all of his actions. This was so embarrassing. Had he not been embarrassed enough yet, with all of the prior blushes and awkward stutters? He detested how his body forced him to act around females. Argh! Gods, he hoped that stupid watering hole was close. Everything was stupid! His actions, that blush of his, his mouth, what came out of his mouth, his actions.. Everything! He whipped his head back around and flashed a glare at Maile, still walking at that sped up pace on forward, oblivious to where he was going. The glare wasn't particularly aimed at her, more at all of the stupid reactions he had given with her around, at himself, but she was the only object he knew that was around that he could aim his hate at. Argh! WHERE WAS THAT WATERING HOLE?! Mashina turned his head back around to look at where he was going, brows still knitted in his pent up frustration. Something caught one of his front paws, however, an uprooted root, and he stumbled forward.

Oh, poor guy. Maile gave a flick of her ears back as she realized how embarrassed he must have felt with all of this. Especially with those things she had said with their introduction to each other. Oh.. "Mash', wait!" The lionesses eyes widened as the younger feline's paw was caught underneath a looped root, forcing him to be flung forward with his next step. "Got'cha!" She cried out as she lunged after him, giving a swipe at his back legs with her front paws, one after another, in an attempt to catch him. "Ah.. ah.. ah.." Mai' watched with even wider eyes and a flop on her belly as she missed. A loud splash rang out as Mashina did a sort of face plant into the watering hole.
...
The young lion appeared after a short moment with a booming gasp for air, scrambling out of the water and giving off a shiver or two. Maile looked at the soaked Mash' with a gaping mouth and sorry eyes, about to give an apology for not being able to stop the fall. He panted and looked at himself, shivering and dripping, then looked over at her. Before she could get anything out, he let out an embarrassed and completely frustrated snarl, whipping his head away from looking at her, fleeing the scene and making his way back blindly to the pride.
"...Well crap."

His day had been going fine until he had came across her! 'I bet that somehow this is all her fault!' Of course, this 'her' was Maile, that stupid rogue lioness. He thought this with another snarl, lips curling back and bearing pearly whites, his appearance not all that threatening with.. Well, look at him! Soaked to the bone, dirt and who knew what coating his four paws, his once tidy coat now soggy and dripping all over. Oh, he hoped desperately that he never saw that lioness again! All she was.. Well, she was trouble! It would be his duty as an adult to keep outsiders like her from stepping foot on Matembezi'wasakaji lands. Oooh, her! Coming to a halt in his running, he looked back in the direction he had come away from, giving a scrunch of his nose and a frown before giving himself a shake, an attempt to get himself dried off. Bah, only a bit of the water left him. He stubbornly refused to give another ruffle of his fur, not wanting it to take on that certain extremely fluffed look he knew all too well as a cub. "Hmph." At least all of the day hadn't been wasted.
He'd gotten her to the watering hole.
....Unfortunately, he'd also gotten himself into the watering hole.
