Corruption
A bird flies overhead.
She looks up,
In Wonder
And Delight.
The bird,
So wonderful in sight.
It’s wings a bright blood red,
Breast a pale rose pink,
Tail a shimmering sun yellow,
Eyes--
Eyes such a hard, beautiful color of blue
That no one has ever seen before.
It sounds--
A breathtaking cry,
Loud
And
Full of Pride.
Everyone who witnesses
This historic scene,
Is filled
With a sense of
Peace,
Fulfillment,
And Pleasure.
But.
When it crosses her,
The girl from town,
It stops.
It stops
Mid-cry,
Mid-beat,
Mid-breath.
It stops
To look
At her.
The bird,
So good,
So noble,
Turns.
It turns
Black.
The wings,
Once a bright striking red,
Now Black.
The breast,
Once a soft pale pink,
Now Black.
The tail,
Once the stunning yellow of the sun,
Now Black.
And the eyes…
The once-delightful blue of the eyes…
Black.
Animals
Meandering, aloof.
Plainly,
He doesn't care.
People indicting him,
Patronizing him,
Calling him things;
Animal,
Savage,
Beast.
Throwing scraps at him
And hollering.
Disgusting,
He thinks.
What animals.
Struggle
In unpeace,
In discord,
When the Two opose,
Shall the day be Dark
Or Light?
Which shall be the dunce,
Which shall be the failure?
Neither shall shy away
From their duty.
The coarse land,
Or the soft sky.
Which shall win
And be the anodyne?
Reversable
Unified,
All as One.
All stuck.
Stuck here,
In Black.
Dark Black.
The Ultimate.
An Ultimatum
Is made.
For Heaven,
Or Here.
In Black.
This Black,
Smothering,
Holding on
Too tight.
Can this be
Reversable?
Or is it
Too Late?
Rabbit
Without it all mewed up,
It runs
And leaves spoors all around.
It looks very sprightly
And queer,
Bizarre.
Almost like a fuddler,
Going this way,
Then that.
Nuzzles a bit of leaf
Before going its way.
Hunting
He perks,
Hearkening to the scuttle.
Focus.
He sits up.
Where did it come from?
Focus.
Slinking away,
To sniff it out.
Focus.
His indomitable senses
Find the creature.
Focus.
The small creature is in a dilemma
Now, for he has found it.
Focus.
Valiantly, he jumps,
And the creature is trapped.
Focus.
He bites,
He slays.
Focus.
The mouse is dead.
Origin
Knowledge.
Of it,
How much is known
For certain?
Science.
Is it always right?
Or are we grasping at
Straws?
Math.
Why?
For our own little formulas.
Made by us alone.
Language.
What is it?
A feeble attempt to know
Other animals
Like ourselves?
What is the Origin?
Origin of it all?
Is it God?
Or is he a figure made up
To comfort us?
Are there Dragons?
Or other animals?
Are they just there for
Comfort, too?
What is real
And what is made up?
And what is the Origin?
A person too early to know,
Like Adam and Eve?
Or are there
Heavenly Beings?
What is the Origin?
