In the mail, various people in Barton received free tickets to a concert and the Barton Symphony Hall as a gesture of kindness from the players. The concert itself was in that vague time between Christmas and New Years, offering shelter from the masses of shoppers and wrapping paper. But who would come?

Piaotte stood, applauding the young woman who stood proudly at the edge of the stage, bowing as she blushed. "Good job, Miss Morris! Bravo!" She laughed, watching her teacher grin, then turn pale as she almost dropped the piccolo. With a laugh, Piaotte sat back down, deciding to let the crowds pass. She was in the back, after all. Maybe Basil got tickets and came. If she found him, maybe he would like to meet the soloist!

Pizzicato twinkled happily, glowing brightly in his bottle. What a wonderful solo, BRAVO INDEED! He jumped happily in his bottle. The jingling spread throughout the theater with ease, taking advantage of the acoustics. .. Did he really sound so merry and bright? 4laugh

Kanna grinned, quickly putting the expensive thing away. "Thank you, thank you!" She laughed to all the praise. Of course, seeing the director in a corner, the woman flounced over, giggling. "I WAS IN TUNE~ I WAS IN TUNE~!" She teased the man, who simply grumbled about 'darn bet', and slipped her a bonus for the year. She smirked, and flounced back over to her section, discussing the holiday party.

Basil was clapping along with all the rest of the audience after the wonderful concert. Eppi jingled along happily until the clamor died down. Basil stayed where he was with Molly sitting quietly at his feet, waiting until a least a little of the crowd disappeared. He though that he might have heard Piaotte's voice, however, he didn't move. He'd just wait until more people were gone since the hall was an unfamiliar place. It wouldn't be good to be bumping into anyone.

"So did you enjoy the concert, Ellie?"

The girl had been gazing at the soloist with awe until her older brother's words broke her out of her reverie. She flashed him a broad grin and nodded eagerly, her pig tails bouncing merrily as she replied, "Oh yes!" As a musician herself, she appreciated the concert as much as anyone could. Her older brother knew this. He gave her a little push towards the stage as he snugged into his jacket.

"Go speak to her. I have to go get the car anyways."

It was difficult to maneuver towards the stage when, in fact, almost the entire audience was headed the other direction. Ellie pouted slightly until her sensitive ears caught a slight jingling sound - her eyes zoomed in on the stage. No, no one was even standing close to the bells, so where was this sound coming from...? It was then that she saw Piaotte, and walked a little bit closer. The jingling was definitely coming from her, for it was growing louder with every step she took towards her. She observed the twinkling speck of light contained in a bottle and blinked - why, what could that be? "Excuse me?" She inquired tentatively, "But may I ask what that light is? I feel as if it's the source of the tinkling I hear but I must be wrong..."

Normally, Forte and Canon did not venture out of their home very often. It was true that they had hobbies they wanted to pursue and friends to hang out with, but music came before any of that. They both shared the same dream, a daunting goal: to join a renowned orchestra at a young age, effectively becoming prodigies. It was true that the two had talent, but it was not merely talent that made the best the best. Long hours of constant practice were needed. It was not everyday that they stepped outside to take a break from their dearest wish, but how could they refuse to see a fellow musician’s performance? With their peculiar fallen stars in tow, they dressed properly (semi-casual) and attended the concert.

The music ended and the audience began to clap. As Canon politely applauded the person, eyes glued to the curtained stage, she inquired, “So, Forte, what did you think of the performance?”

His eyes, too, were focused on the stage, but nevertheless he answered without skipping a beat, “Interesting, to say the least. It’s not very often you see someone playing a piccolo. Overall though, it was pleasant.”

Grinning, twinkling eyes observed the few people fleeing to backstage, no doubt intending to congratulate the musician. Canon gently tugged at her brother’s arm, pointing to them. “Why don’t we do the same, hm?” she slyly suggested.

They silently and stealthily slipped away from their parents, darting and twisting through the fleeing crowd.

Piaotte looked up as the young girl approached her, curious as to what she was asking about. However, she took one glance down at the bottled star and smiled. "Oh, that's just my star. It jingles when it's happy. I think it's trying to see if any of it's friends are around." She mused, picking the bottle up to show her.

"Did you like the concert? The soloist is my teacher." Piaotte smiled brightly. "If you want, I can take you to meet her. I've got the advantage of a backstage pass." She held up the slip, smiling politely.

The star jingled even louder when he was mentioned, glowing brightly in introduction. His name is Pizzicato! And he is here to fulfill Miss Piaotte's wish! He knew the woman couldn't hear him, but about the whole hall could now. Perhaps some other stars would come and greet his amazing glowing self.

Kanna sighed as she leaned back in one of the chairs in the lounge, waiting for Piaotte, and perhaps FRIENDS, to come back and greet her. It wasn't like anyone without a pass could get through...But some did manage to every now and then.
...
Especially kids. The guards had a soft spot for younger musicians going to meet the pros. Once in a blue moon, she would meet a future student, after all. That had been the case with Piaotte, at least....

Finally, the crowds began to clear out and Basil deemed it time to stand up and move towards the stage. Molly lead her master easily up the isle without causing him to bump into any of the stragglers leaving. The dog gave a soft bark at the sudden jingling and Basil couldn't help but grimace at Pioatte's star's...distinctive jingle. He could even hear Piaotte's voice clearly now.

The closer Basil got to Piaotte, the more jingly his own star got, the thing getting much to excited at meeting his friend again. Hoping that he wouldn't jostle anyone, the teen tightened his grip on Molly's leash, stopping when she stopped.

"Piaotte?" Basil asked, turning to face the direction he thought the girl to be in. There was another person nearby, but he had no idea who they were.

Epsilon tinkled loudly in greeting to Pizzicato, pulsing brightly to match his friends glow. He wanted to know how the other star was doing and how he had been!

"A star? How... wonderful. Its sound is gorgeous." Ellie said with a slight gasp as the star jingled louder. Wow, the way she had said it was so... calmly, like there was nothing strange to be carrying a wish around in a bottle. She knew that strange things happened in Barton, in Gaia... but nothing so delightful. As the girl offered to let her backstage, her jaw dropped. "I loved the concert - your teacher, she's brilliant!! The way she had nailed the high notes was simply unbelievable. I would ... love to meet her." For a second there, Ellie hesitated - would Christopher mind waiting a little bit? She knew he would understand her tardiness if she explained later... after all, how often would she be able to visit back stage? And after such a fantastical concert too?

She tried to keep herself from staring, but the jumping speck of light held her gaze. It was then she noticed another jingling sound, a similar sound but different in pitch... and a bark. Puppy! She reached down to greet Molly, stealing glances shyly at the boy that had just arrived. These two seemed like they were friends, and he also carried a star in a bottle from the sounds of it. How did these people obtain these stars?

A few twists. A few more turns. The boy and girl finally arrived backstage with little problems. It was significantly emptier here, but that was to be expected. The show was over; staff people were leaving, cleaning up, and eager to return home. That was all they could observe from a distance, anyways. Two guards barred their entrance.

“You need a pass,” one of them gruffly said.

Canon softly smiled, seeing more underneath their tough exterior. She pulled back a few locks of her platinum blond hair, fluttering her eyelashes. “Really, Sir? My brother and I – “ She gestured towards Forte. “ – were hoping to meet that talented piccolo player, is all. We found her playing to be absolutely delightful. Perhaps we could also converse about some pointers, maybe even a few lessons?”

This seemed to win the pair over, as they silently stepped away to let the twins through. Her slender fingers intertwined with her brother’s and they slipped backstage, Canon throwing a wink at the guards.

So they began their search for Miss Kanna, twinkling stars echoing in the distance unbeknownst to them. However, the single wish that they shared heard the tinkling. It peaked out from Canon’s bag, ringing its own reply.

Piaotte nodded to Ellie with a smile, picking up the bottle to show her. It glowed even brighter, proud to be admired and shown off. She laughed quietly, seeing the pride of the little piece of space, and set it in her lap. ''I'm glad you enjoyed it. She practices a lot." The girl laughed, "The conductor and her usually have a bet about these concerts, so I bet she's happy to get a bonus tonight. It wouldn't be a problem to take you backstage at all! Not many people get back." She watched the girl glow in joy, and felt happy to bring this to another. And then, the jingles were in unison with another...

"Basil!" She grinned, "You made it! I was hoping you would be here!" Piaotte stood to give the other a hug, careful not to be too overbearing. "And your star came too!"

Pizzicato happily jingled a little quieter, not wanting to make Basil angry. Oh, it's Epsilon! His friend! Oh, oh how wonderful! Pizzicato has been fine! He enjoyed the concert so much he feels like he'll burst into flame! And how is Epsilon?

Kanna sighed, leaning back in her chair. Most of the other players had left for dinner with their friends or family, though a few chose to stay behind with her. She smiled quietly as she spoke to them, exhausted from all the work.
"Yeah, I'll probably take in Anarti for some shop work too. Since we have a week off.....They like me at Jameston's." She laughed, smiling to her friends.

Basil smiled as he listened to the unknown girl chatter happily about the concert. It was a rather nice concert and he was glad to have gotten out to see it. The hug though, that surprised him.

"Of course I would be here. Thank you very much for the ticket." He assured, as he returned the hug gingerly. "And you know my little brat of a star would not have given me a moments peace if I had left him behind." That and Basil was sure he couldn't leave the star out of hands reach. He pulled the jar from his pocket, the star pulsing its bright light happily. Basil had done so for the benefit of the unknown girl beside him, unaware that he was being looked at.

Molly gave a happy woof, licking the girl's hand. "Now you've done it." Basil said to the girl in a warm tone, blindly looking down at his dog fondly. "She's taken with you and will demand to be adored." The golden retriever was by far the best dog he had ever own. Smart and willing, she was the perfect seeing eye dog.

The concert was enjoyable! The star jingled happily, practically bouncing in his jar. Eppi was doing wonderfully, especially since he had sampled cakes with Basil yesterday. How was Piaotte coming along with her violin?

Ellie gave a small squeak of surprise as the dog licked her hand, laughing as she reached back to scratch Molly behind her years. "Hahaha, it's alright. My dog's very much the same way. I have a dalmatian and fox hound mix - he's found of jumping even though he's a big boy now, and that's how he likes to demand attention. She's beautiful though, what's her name?" She ruffled the dog's ears one more time before realizing that she was a seeing eye dog, and looked up to Basil - so that was why they had let her in here with him.

"I'm sorry, that was so impolite of me. Basil, Piaotte, my name's Elaine... but I would prefer to be called Ellie." She couldn't help but grimace slightly at her real name - it was so... old-sounding. "I can't believe my eyes - stars captured in bottles. They are so beautiful." Her words were a little wistful as she spoke, eying Eppi. "But ah, back stage, perhaps Basil would like to come with us? It's not my place to extend an invitation," she smiled apologetically at Piaotte as she continued to speak. "But the auditorium is emptying up, and I would love to ask you some questions about your stars on the way if you wouldn't mind." She smiled a little shyly at this point, biting slightly on her lower lip as she looked back and forth between the two in front of her.

The twins continued to aimlessly wander backstage, having not a clue as to where the person they were looking for was. It was to be expected. Canon and Forte did not normally observe the behind-the-scenes bustle. Who had the time to be dilly dallying with such trivial matters when one could be furiously practicing their instrument instead?

Their fallen wish knew perfectly where the star of the night was, however. It glanced up at the conversing siblings before jumping into their faces, zealously twinkling. The girl and boy stepped away, taken aback by its presence.

“Forte, do stars normally go around doing some sort of jingling dance?” Canon blankly inquired, warily eyeing the flailing wish.

“Why don’t you ask me another time? I’m still perplexed over us finding that thing,” he dryly answered.

The star stopped and let out one last ringing twinkle that was reminiscent of something exasperatedly huffing.

The blond chuckled, amusedly pointing at the star. “Oh look! I think we got it angry,” she giggled as their star zoomed away, beckoning for them to follow. Without much to do, they complied.

They were lead to a lounge and as the two poked their heads inside the room their satisfied star buried itself under the clutter of Canon’s bag.

“Pardon, is Miss Kanna here?” they chorused.

Piaotte smiled, letting go of Basil as she pulled away. "It's no problem." She chirped, nodding. "Aww, does he get lonely? Mine does too." She looked down to the star, smiling. "And how are you, little one? Did you enjoy the music too?" She asked the little star, her own smile making her glow in joy.

"It's nice to meet you, Ellie." Piaotte grinned, holding the captured star's bottle in her hands. "And they are, aren't they? They get noisy if they're unhappy or lonely, though...So you have to take them everywhere! Like a little kid." She explained, smiling as she was answered by a slightly hurt jingle from Pizzi. "Oh, sorry. Like....Uhm..." She tried to find a better word. "I don't know." She gave up, giving a sheepish smile.

"Oh, right!" She blinked at the reminder. "I have a pass backstage. Perhaps you'd like to join Ellie and I?" Piaotte offered to Basil, smiling gently.

Oh, he's glad, Pizzicato shines brightly in assurance. And cakes? Wow, Eppi is so lucky! gonk And...As for the violin... Well....Work needs to be done. Still a shrieking cat, he sighs, becoming a little dimmer. But Pizzi will definitely get her wish granted! How about Basil? Any luck?

The musicians looked up at the two kids, then grinned over to a blushing woman.
"Oh yes. She's here." A bassoonist smirked, watching the piccoloist turn red.
"Kanna, wow! Two kids this time!" The clarinetist smiled, hands clasped by her neck. "Remember when Pia-chan came? Just like that!"

"You guys....Are so embarrassing..." Kanna murmured, cheeks faded to a light pink. "But yes, that would be me." She stood to greet the kids, smiling. "Did you two enjoy the concert?"

"It's nice to meet you Ellie." Basil replied politely with a smile, thinking that Elaine wasn't an old sounding name at all. "And you can keep petting Molly if you like. She doesn't mind." He added, not wanting the girl to feel bad for petting a seeing eye dog. In the meantime, Eppi was jingling like crazy at Piaotte's question, happy to have been spoken to so nicely.

Going backstage did sound like a lot of fun as Basil had never been backstage before. "I'd love to come Piaotte. As long as it wouldn't be too much trouble of course." He had to speak a little louder now as his star seemed to be getting a little overexcited by all the events. Basil sighed, trying very hard not to roll his eyes.

"Ellie, would you like to hold my star?" The teen asked, offering to bottle. "After all, touching is a lot better than just looking." Hopefully, the girl could distract his little star and shut the silly thing up.

Basil is so stubborn! Eppi related back as he practically bounced around in his jar. I don't think he believes properly at all. And don't be sad Pizzi! I'm sure Pia will get better very soon!

Ellie giggled as Pizzi jingled with hurt - they seem to be just a bit like children after all. She was a bit awed as the stars jingled back and forth as if in a conversation - perhaps they were conversing, just in a language that she could not comprehend. As Basil's star became extra loud, Ellie could not help but to laugh a little at Basil's exasperated expression. "Wow, I wonder how I could have missed them during the concert," she said as she looked at the stars. "Their sound is so... piercing." The entire concert hall seemed to echo with their jingling.

At Basil's offer, Ellie almost gave a little gasp. Why yes, she would love to hold the jar! Would it be hot to the touch? Or cold as ice? Would the star react to her in some way? Rather than bursting out with a joyous yes, she gave a quick nod. Nevertheless, her eyes were sparkling as she replied, "If you wouldn't mind."
