It had been a long and very tiring day for Evil. She had worked especially hard of late to try and get enough free time to attempt to work on her Bankai again, but being Commander general of the Sereitei came with a lot of paper work. Hopefully this time no one would stumble on her new training spot, since the last time she had tried to get a handle on the hunger in her bankai had gotten Zaine eaten.
Evil had set up a weak barrier of sorts around an area she deemed wide enough for her purpose. It was a rough circle ringed with Reitsu to scare off any animals and warn any intruders that someone powerful was inside and didn't want to be bothered. While she couldn't tell if anyone would enter or not, since when she got to the point where she needed to go everything in her mind would be erased but the need to fill her belly, she hoped they would take a hint. She double, no, triple checked the area one final time, and after she deemed it was good she went into her bankai.
She fell on all fours, grunting a little at the more painful transformation. Her skin shredded and sprouted fur, her mouth and nose elongated to form a muzzle, her bones crunched, broke, and then reformed into her new skeletal structure. She groaned, her ears sliding to the top of her head and becoming pointed. fangs and claws grew large and sharp and her coat became thick, and blacker than midnight on a new moon. One of her golden eyes shadowed for a moment and it looked as if blood spilled into it as it turned red, giving her a maniacal appearance. When it was done, she was a huge beast now, a little bigger than a Clydesdale horse.
She snorted, circling around for a moment and loosening her muscles. For the moment she was okay, her hunger wouldn't start until later. But she could already feel her reitsu cranking up notch after notch and pressing the grass flat down around her. She flicked an ear and layed down on the grass, trying to relax. She hoped she could try and tough out the hunger.
Hours went by and she was beginning to feel herself starve. Her stomach twisted in on itself and she was panting heavily, rolled over onto her side. She whined, scrabbling at the grass. Already she could feel her mind starting to slip into the seemingly endless void of hunger that accompanied her bankai. How long could she last?

Xeion, given that he had just finished organizing a rather fun Christmas party for everyone to enjoy in, took the time to simply walk around and enjoy himself as he wandered aimlessly through the woods like Little Red Riding Hood herself, but minus the hood...and the color red...and the little...and the fact that he was a guy. Yeah. That's it. Xeion wasn't any Little Blue Boy though; in fact, he was far from it. He was the captain of squad nine, chief of internal affairs, and overall fun-loving cheery, cuddle-huggie aficionado of all things bright and wonderful which includes chibi bunnies, duckies, and bouncing piggies -- basically anything that makes people smile. It was kind of his thing, no matter how weird people may think it to be.
"Ah, wandering around the woods at night is so nice," Xeion said with a smile, preoccupied with looking at the beautiful night sky and the shining stars to actually mind where he put his foot in. To him, so long as he could still feel the solid ground, he could risk getting lost since he prioritized gazing at the stars and the moon over anything else at that point in time. Call it stupid, but it was Xeion. Who could blame him for getting lost in the beauty of nature?
WHAM!
It came at Xeion as a surprise -- he had walked into something solid, like a barrier or something, which was enough to stop him in his tracks and rub his head with his right palm at the place where the solid object that hit him. Still, curiosity took over the mind of the young captain and Xeion quickly forgot the pain, exchanging it for exploring the thing he had bumped in, first by knocking on it a few times then proceeded to lightly kick it since every time he made contact with the barrier, it made a cool sound similar to that of the sound an empty goldfish bowl made when someone knocked on it. Xeion continued to do this for a few minutes, a childish amusement washing over him as he did it some more.
"Wow, this is so fun! Let's knock on it some more!"

Evil groaned, her tongue lolling out of her mouth as she tried to force herself to stay in one spot. If she wandered she may leave the weak barrier she had made and hurt someone. Still, she was starting to lose herself again and soon she wouldn't be able to recognize anything at all. Being in her bankai for any extended period of time was a much more taxing mental experince than using Beast Armor. At least in her Beast armor there was some sort of intelligence, even if was an insane one, running her body. In Bankai, after awhile, it was just her body running the show and not even a hint of Evil left. There was just the hunger, and the need to fill that hunger with something, anything that would fit in her belly. She made a soft huffing noise, her eyes beginning to lose their shine of intelligence as her hunger drove her further and further down.

A few minutes went by and Xeion once again found a new way to amuse himself which involved the newly-formed pile of small pebbles behind him. Sitting on the ground, the young captain took one pebble from the pile and threw it at the barrier, showing once again his childish amusement when the pebble was deflected by the barrier. He did this numerous times, increasing the pebbles he was throwing each time he did it. He was having so much fun that it didn't really occur to him as to why there was a barrier erected at that certain spot in the woods in the first place. Although one can say that ignorance was bliss, for this case, it was a risk that Xeion had unkowingly undertaken. By allowing his fun to come first before his reason, Xeion was unwittingly putting his life on the line for whatever it was that the barrier was holding back.
"Yeah! I did a trick shot!"
Then again, with Xeion's sudden reaction when he performed a multiple pebble trick shot wherein seven pebbles bounced off each other and hit seven trees simultaneously after hitting the barrier, then I guess it was all well and good. I mean, it wasn't everyday a guy would get lucky like that and hit seven trees with seven pebbles all nearly at once.

Evil whined, her eyes showing no conscience behind them now. She staggered to her paws, snarling loudly. The guttural sounds that came from her jaws echoed around the quiet forest, since it seemed the animals had more common sense than Xeion and had fled the area. She gave her huge body a shake, drool dribbling off her chin. Her stomach clenched together painfully, eliciting a sharp yap from her as she twisted, digging her huge claws into the ground. Twisting her body with her stomach didn't help at all, it only made her hurt worse! She righted herself and stared dumbly at her paws for a moment, swaying back and forth as the tide of her hunger went higher and higher. her eyes narrowed and her sharp ears twitched forward, hearing an odd sound coming from somewhere in front of her. She now no longer remembered that she had put up a barrier and it was unclear whether or not this barrier would keep her in. It was for the most part to warn anyone sane that something dangerous was inside and should be left alone.
She growled softly and let her thick pink tongue hang out, little strands of drool dropping off it onto the ground. She began to lumber forward, not having any stealth of any kind as she went towards the sound.

It was an inevitable outcome that Xeion would run out of pebbles to throw, but by that time, Xeion had already had his fill of senseless, childish fun and was now wondering why there was a barrier erected there in the first place. Finally. It was amazing though that Xeion was still able to think of what was it doing there though considering that he can already sense a powerful presence emanating from inside the barrier. However, even with the presence there, looming over him like some predator about to take its prey, Xeion stood his ground and examined the barrier, looking for any trace amount of residual energy from when it was formed in order to get a clue to the identity of the person or thing that made the barrier.
Placing his hand on the solid, almost opaque wall of energy, Xeion concentrated in order to get to the bottom of this barrier and finally get a name and a reason why it was created. Slowly, but surely, the young captain scanned the energy bonds, the lines, and the composition of the energy, drawing out every possible lead and examining them. For someone from internal affairs, such a thing was easy enough to do, but it did not mean that it would be fast. Just a few more minutes to go before he would be able to ascertain the identity of the barrier's creator.

Evil paused in her slow advance, stopping to sniff a rabbit hole. The occupants of it had already fled not to long before and had escaped, but the smell there was still strong and made her mouth salivate. She stuck her nose roughly into the hole, making it collapse all around her. She jerked her head back and sneezed, the force of it making her rock back on her paws. She snarled viciously when she found there was nothing there and sent a blast of reitsu at it, causing it to create a mid sized crater. She looked smugly at the destruction she had caused to the thing that had irritated her nose, then turned and kicked a few clumps of dirt into it in a very dog-like fashion. She stood still for a moment, not remembering what she had been doing. Then her stomach growled loudly, making her wince and lower her head a little bit. Ah, now she remembered! she was trying to find the source of that noise from earlier. She wagged her tail stupidly at this, grinning and then starting forward again to where she had last heard it. Her pace was a little quicker now that her stomach egged her on, desperate for food to keep her going.

It had been a few minutes, but still Xeion could not figure out the identity of the barrier's creator despite his efforts. It seemed as if something inside was complicating things up and constantly let out a twisted form of reiatsu, similar, but different, to the reiatsu used to make the barrier, hence tangling up the energies, making it harder to get an initial read on the energy.
To explain it in simpler terms, it was like adding more and more pages to a book without taking into consideration the page number or the part of the book in which the page added was supposed to be assigned in. This makes the book harder to read since the reader would not know where pages start and end. Considering that the amount of pages increased more and more with each passing second, the job of identifying the author of such a book was next to impossible at that point on. With that said, there was only one thing Xeion could think of to get to the bottom of things.
Drawing out Elena from her scabbard, Xeion released her and went into Shikai, immediately opening a Dark Mirror and used it to enter the area inside the barrier without much effort due to the dimension-bending properties of the Dark Mirror and the fact that the energy field the barrier created only applied to a single dimension and traveled down a designated path assigned within that certain dimension as well.
As soon as Xeion set foot inside the weird area, he looked around and tried to find any trace of the person or thing that had created the barrier, although that effort, too, was quite unsuccessful as well. However, Xeion didn't lose hope and continued searching for the source, but just for precautionary measures, held Elena close to him as he walked around. He had a bad feeling about this place, but he wasn't sure why.

When Evil felt something suddenly get closer to her, something made of bones and meat and flesh her mouth watered even more. She licked her chops absentmindedly, mostly achieving in splattering saliva all over herself. Her stomach burned and seemed to howl at her, demanding whatever this was be put in her stomach right NOW. If it had been her dead mother come back and presented herself to Evil, she probably would have eaten her and had no qualms about it, she was that far gone. A combination of a growl and whine escaped her, and she suddenly pelted forward, breaking out into a quicker run than could have been expected of such a large creature. her eyes were wild and her ears flattened against her skull. Her jaws were wide and revealed her gaping maw. She thundered forward and succeeded in knocking a few smaller trees down as she tore a path to where she sensed this new, edible thing coming from. Soon enough she was on it and she skidded to a stop in front of it, her sides heaving and her tongue still hanging out. She could see it was a human, though she couldn't remember who it was at the moment. Any other form of recognition was erased from her mind when her stomach roared at her, the sound clearly audible to the two. She jerked her head back a little, the pain of it making her gasp. But then she shook her head and leaped, giving a deep baying bark as she didn't stop for introductions.

Xeion stopped in his tracks when he felt a sudden rush of murderous intent coming towards him, wasting no time to make its presence known as it appeared from the woods and stopped by in front of him. The woods were quite dark and the moonlight was the only thing thaat gave illumination to whatever it was that was standing in front of the young captain, but from he was able to figure out, the beast was large and vicious, but most important of all, it was hungry. He could hear its stomach growl and its breath from its mouth, giving away its desire to rip apart something soft and chewy.
"Uhmm...hi...?" Xeion let out although he said it in an awkward voice and didn't follow up any more since the creature had already lunged at him. Always quick on his feet, Xeion jump-stepped to one-side and avoided the lunge made at him completely, but the sheer power of the creature, or rather, the energy it emanated, still managed to hit him like a powerful surge even though Xeion was sure he had avoided its strike completely. His assumption was proven correct when he landed back on the ground as a medium-sized bruise manifested on his left arm as if it had been hit by something invisible, though Xeion could tell that it was from when the creature passed him by, or from the energy it let out to be more specific. This made the captain all the more cautious -- if the creature had enough power to damage him just by its energy, what more could have happened if Xeion was just a split-second slower?
Gripping Elena's handle tightly, Xeion activated Elena's second stage, her 'True Reflection', and coated himself with the defensive aura the second stage was able to give. He knew the aura would prove to be a crucial ability in this little encounter and as such made sure that it was as powerful as it could get, gradually enforcing it from time to time and not all at once since he did not want to overload it with Cosmic Energy which would leave himself defenseless from the creature's energy.
"What are you?" Xeion asked, although he did not expect the creature to reply since the question was rhetorical. "How come you're so powerful?"

Evil's characteristic red and gold eyes caught the moonlight as she turned, her hulking figure only letting the light escape for a mere moment before eclipsing it. Warm breath escaped from her open jaws as she exhaled and all of her senses were on fire as she took in the smaller man in front of her. She lipped her chops hungrily, her throat moving as she swallowed nothing. Reitsu began to coat the inside of her mouth, throat, and stomach, fusing with the flesh there and strengthening it while creating an internal sort of barrier at the same time. She growled, lowering her head and staring at him dimly for a moment. Black Flames suddenly coalesced around her, originating it seemed from her furry stomach. the sprung into life and snapped at the air, flickering wildly before spreading out around her. While it did not burn the grass or trees it gave off an intense heat and the temperature of the immediate vicinity began to climb. The flames cast eerie shadows across her immense form and she shook herself, grunting before exploding forward once more, trying to pin him to the ground.

Once again the creature lunged at him, brandishing a mood that had such ferocity that Xeion couldn't help but wonder as to how such a creature possessed so much rage inside of it. Still, Xeion did have to look out for himself and talking to an attacking beast wasn't really the wisest of decisions Xeion would make if he chose to make it. Then again, he did choose to play with the barrier and go inside of it, so who knew what to expect from the bubbly captain of squad nine? Surely he had something up his sleeve. Something -- anything would do so long as he would be able to get out of the beast's path unscathed. Not to worry though, he always did.
Before the creature could even reach him, Xeion opened up a Dark Mirror and jumped inside of it, completely escaping the creature's attack and reappearing at a safe distance away from it, but not too far away so that the creature could still hear his voice assuring it that it wasn't any harm. Xeion always did dislike hurting creatures who cannot control themselves since he thought that would be unfair to them as they had the right to exist just as much as he did.
"Hey, are you okay?!" Xeion shouted, "are you feeling hungry or something? I heard your belly rumbling a while ago. If you wanted food, you just had to ask, you silly rabbit!"

Evil snarled when her prey suddenly disappeared. She tried to stop herself but her forward momentum was too strong and she just smacked nose first into the dirt. She scrambled to her paws and sneezed, blowing soil out of her nose. She shook her head, wiping at her muzzle with one paw. Then she turned when she heard his voice, her mind not really comprehending the words. She grunted, taking a step forward when her stomach constricted tightly and she let out a breathless huff, her ears pressed flat against her head. If she didn't eat soon then something bad would happen to her, she could tell. Slavering and foaming a little at her jaws she righted herself, though she stooped a little now. Her eyes were wide and crazy and filled with hunger. She twitched her tail, wondering how she could get this prey if it could suddenly disappear like that. Gradually her Black Flames crackled back into life around her, sticking close to her fur before starting to touch at the grass. Maybe she could use her Fire? She didn't like her prey roasted since it was much better to swallow them alive and whole, and not in crumbly little black chunks...
She groaned softly under her breath and then bounded forward once more, this time her flames accompanying her and fanning out to try and surround him as she leaped once again.

Xeion's eyes widened when he saw the Black Flames spread around him and it was then he immediately knew the identity of the creature -- it was none other than Evie-chan, once again going berserk, probbaly during the course of her training sessions again. The first time was with Beast-san, but this time around, it was much different. It was something he hadn't seen before, but assuming that his assumption was right, Evie-chan's already in her Bankai form and suddenly lost control, leaving her just an over-powered shell of herself, oblivious of her own actions. At the very least, that explains one thing, but Xeion wanted to make sure.
Once again the creature leaped at him with great force, but once again Xeion used his dexterity to escape the creature's attack and somersaulted up, but not without suffering for it n the form of a small bruise from his lower left back from when he completed his revolution and landed back down. Because of the limited range caused by the Black Fire, Xeion had little room to dodge and was once again affected by the powerful surge of energy from the creature's body. However, the damage was far less severe compared to before, all thanks to the Cosmic Energy aura, but the damage done was still a reminder of just how careful he needed to be.
"Evie-chan, is that you?! Can you hear me?! Please, answer me!" Xeion shouted once again, hoping that the wolf would respond to his voice, even if it was just a little bit, just so he would know the identity of the creature and be certain that it was, indeed, Evie-chan, his Captain-Commander and friend.

Evil growled in frustration when she missed once again. her mind slowly clicked in ways to try and get him pinned so she could fill her belly, which was becoming more and more insistent with every passing moment. It groaned loudly, making her wince and flatten her ears before she shook herself roughly. She snarled at him, not responding to his pleas in any coherent form of words. All that rolled off her in her weak form of telepathy was her hunger and anger she couldn't get at him, but not in the way a sentient being would think of it. This was more primal and showed more primal desires to it. She flicked her tail upwards, not wanting to be patient and plan out a move. She wanted him right NOW! Why couldn't he just hold still?! She huffed, her body trembling as she tried to think of what to do. She let her Flames creep out again and start to surround the pair, having seemed to have forgotten Xeion could teleport. She grinned stupidly at her presumed clever ploy, then stalked forward instead of leaping now, trying to back him up against something and get the better of him.
