"And you're certain it's over here?" The cream colored mare's voice echoed slightly against the large bolders she stood between. Her bright green eyes were locked onto the form of a primarily tan goat. He nodded his head in the afirmative. "I'm positive." He said pawing at the snow covered ground before bending his head to investigate. The mare didn't look reassured in the slightest. She turned her head this way and that double checking the area for the umpteenth time. She had to admit it was remarkably similar to what her friend had described upon waking but a little voice in the back of her mind kept whispering that it wasn't right.
"Are you sure you're positive?" The unease in her voice cause her friend to lift his head and look back at her clearly annoyed. Ijn shifted under his gaze. It wasn't that she didn't want to trust him but she couldn't just ignore the feeling she had. It hadn't led her astray before, why would it now? "It's just...you didn't mention that there was any snow in your dream..." The goat simply shook his head ignoring the mare's worries.
"It's winter, weather changes, it's really nothing to worry about. This is definetely the place. Two large bolders the same height and shape pressed up against a rock wall covered by vines." He stopped pawing at the ground and turned his grey head upward to meet the mare's eyes. "I know this is the place Ijn. I just...crouch down and then..." He lowered his legs to the ground before springing forward suddenly with his head down. "Charge!"
"Blix wait!" Her startled warning didn't come fast enough and a loud thud followed by a groan rang out in the crisp winter air.

Brioso flicked her tail in annoyance as she jumped from one rock to another, making her way down the mountain; she was hungry but there was nothing to eat... Unless you count dry, bitter tree bark. Ugh, she had been eating that all winter! To make things worse, it was cold and windy, making her even more irritable. Letting out a sigh, she continued on her journey down the mountain, carefully hopping from one rock to the other.
"Hm?" The mare froze suddenly, her ears turning to where she thought she had heard something... Did a boulder fall off a cliff? She frowned in confusion; it sounded too hollow to be that. Her expression quickly changed to one of worry, however, when the wind brought something that sounded like a groan from the same direction - maybe the rock fell on someone! Ignoring her grumbling stomach, Brioso changed direction, determined to get to the source of the sound; anyone caught unconscious in this cold weather would probably freeze to death before bleeding to death!
"I'm coming!" She cried out as she sped towards the source of the sound, hoping for the best; maybe she heard wrong! Maybe nobody was injured... However, she had to make sure. After all, she had been taught not to make too many assumptions.

Ijn watched with a completely horrified look on her face as he goat friend staggered backward. He tried to find his footing for a moment before falling over onto his side sending a small cloud of powdery snow up around him. If Ijn hadn't been so worried about her friend she would have been relieved that she hadn't herd any bones breaking or see any blood. Completely unsure of what to do she stood completely rooted to the spot just listening to something within her telling her not to worry.
For the life of her Ijn couldn't find anything about the situation that would or should keep her from worrying. And then she heard it. There was a voice on the wind telling her that they were coming. She wasn't sure who owned the voice but everything inside her said to trust the owner and so she would.
"Please hurry if you can!" She called back turning her attentions away from the fallen goat for a moment. Her eyes scanned the area searching for signs of the mysterious voice's owner. She couldn't see anything but rocks, snow and trees off to one side. Still her eyes stopped wandering as they came to rest on one area of the mountain side. For a few moments she simply observed nothing but then a dark form appeared in the rocks.
This was the voice owner. Somewhere in Ijn's body she just knew it. "We're over here!" She called again lifting her forelegs off the ground over and over again to draw attention to herself.

If she was still a foal, Brioso would be glad at the prospect of being a potential heroine to those in need of her help. However, she was no longer a foal and now, she would rather it be peaceful and uneventful. Although the cold wind continued to howl, she heard it - a female's voice above the howling. Despite the situation, she gave a small smile; she was on the right track.
She heard the word 'hurry', and immediately sped up. After spending a considerably long amount of time on the mountains, she had gotten used to the uneven and rough terrain. That same terrain covered in snow on the other hand, was a different matter altogether. It made the ground wet and slippery; one wrong move could mean serious injury and the extra care she took in trotting slowed her down.
We? So there were more than one? Judging from the voice, at least one of them seem to be fine enough to yell... That's always a good sign. Now that she had reached relatively flat land, Brioso wasted no time in approaching a light colored mare who seemed to be trying to gain her attention.
"Are you alright?" Brioso panted as she slowed to a halt, "Where is the other with you? Is he injured?" She wondered what anyone could be doing up here, but there were more pressing issues to address right now.

Out of habit Ijn bowed her head in greeting to the other mare. She didn't waste any time with verbal greetings and didn't even bother to look her over really. At the moment the pink socked mare was just glad for some help. "He's over here and...I'm really not sure." She sighed heavily before leading the way to Blix who lay in the shadows of one of the more distant rock.
Keeping a close eye on the spikes growing from her front legs she stepped right up next to the young goat. She bent her neck and nudged his tan neck but got no response from him. "He was trying to open up the wall...he wouldn't listen to me." She sighed once more and straightened up trying to hide the mist in her eyes behind her bangs. "He was just so sure that this was the place that he wouldn't listen..."
She felt a little bit like crying. She wouldn't, everything told her that it wouldn't help things. She wanted to help. So she shook her head a little and composed herself as best as she could. "Can you help us?"

"He did what? Well, at least he's not bleeding," She commented after a pause, surprised that the stranger's companion was a goat. She had been expecting another Soquili. Giving a smile, as if to comfort the obviously distraught mare, Brioso continued speaking, giving a quick nod, "That's a good sign, by the way... And of course I'll help! I think he's just out cold from the impact, so now we just have to get him to some place warmer till he wakes up."
She paused again, trying to remember where the closest shelter was located. Traveling back up would take too much time and besides, they'll probably find the trip too tough. Their best solution is to head down... Or find a cave to hide in as quickly as possible. Although winter is ending, the days are still short and being caught outside in the dark is a situation Brioso would rather avoid.
Trotting over to the goat, she nudged him gently before turning back to look at the other mare, "Mind helping me push your friend onto my back? I'll carry him since he can't move right now... By the way, the name's Brioso."

Ijn considered repeating herself for a moment but she got the feeling that the mare had understood her perfectly the first time. Besides, what he did really didn't seem to matter anymore. Her bright eyes watched the other closely and allowed herself to seek comfort in her words. Blix would be okay, that was all she had wanted to know.
As silence filled the air Ijn quirked her head to one side raising a quizzical brow. The mare was thinking, but what exactly was she thinking about? Was the situation more dire than she was letting on? With a quick shake of her head the cream mare banished the thought. It would do her no good to panic about thoughtful silence. Nothing in her said that it was worse except for her worried mind that was enough of a hint that it wasn't anything serious.
Blix made a muffled noise as he was nudged and it was enough to snap Ijn out of her thoughts. "You want to carry him...?" The light mare thought that she should be the one to carry her goat since he was her friend but she didn't want to waste time arguing. So bowing her head she worked her nose under the goat's forelegs and lifted them off the ground. "If you'll lower yourself I can get him up without too many problems, he's surprisingly light for a goat..." She paused and turned her eyes upward to look at Brioso. "And...my name is Ijn...this is my guide Blix...I thank you for helping us..."

"Hm? Yes, is there a problem?" She replied curiously, wondering for a moment if Ijn didn't want her friend moved. However, when the mare offered to help, Brioso smiled and nodded, lowering her body and trying her best not to move as she prepared herself to carry Blix; after all, one hard bump on the head is bad enough... She wouldn't want him falling off and getting hurt further in other places!
"You're very welcome. I can't just leave you here after all! besides, I'm more familiar with these parts." She answered happily before pausing, as if deep in thought. Turning her head upwards to look at Ijn, she continued, "To be honest, I'm a little curious... Most don't travel here, especially now since its winter and more dangerous than usual. So what were you doing here? Were you lost?"

As the blue mare lowered herself Ijn began to situate her goat friend. First she maneuvered his forelegs up onto Brioso's back. Then she worked at pushing and pulling him one way or another until he seemed stable. All the while she listened to the mare speaking. It was comforting to know that their aide was a good aide to have. It would have been just awful if they knew the area no better than Ijn herself. If that had been the case then the cream colored mare may have found being on her own to be better.
She paused her efforts to better balance the goat as the mare continued in a different direction. "Mmm, I haven't been lost since I found Blix actually." She confessed meeting the other's words with a fond smile still looking at her unconscious guide. "It may be dangerous but there was something we needed to check out." Her eyes drifted away from the goat's small frame to look back at the rock he had mistaken for their destination. "Unfortunately he mistook this place for the correct place." She tried laughing a little before it broke down into a small sigh.
If only Blix had listened to her. If it wasn't 'here' then it must have been near to 'here' and the should have checked. Her guide put a little too much faith in his dreams sometimes, even for Ijn who trusted him blindly most days. Sighing again she tugged on one of Blix's hind legs and then one his foreleg until he was spread out on Brioso's back. "There, I think that should do it." She said straightening up. "I think, he should be safe to move now."

"Oh?" The female replied, even more curious about the two passersby. However, when she felt a small weight on her back, she resisted the urge to turn to look at Ijn in case it causes Blix to fall off. Instead, with eyes staring at the ground, Brioso continued, "Well... What is this thing that you were looking for? Frankly speaking, I'm not a local; I'm actually just a long-term guest... However, if you want to know something about these parts, I might have heard something from my mentor."
She paused suddenly, wondering if she had stepped out of line with the constant questions; after all, it might be their secret. Quickly, Brioso added, "But its alright if you can't tell me!" Seeing that Blix was secured on her back, Brioso stood up as gently as she could, surprised at how light he was.
"You're right! He's awfully light!" She exclaimed, clearly surprised and amused at the fact. Turning, she started to trot downhill, careful not to drop the goat.

She wanted to know?
At first Ijn said nothing further. She purposefully focused her mind on other things as she followed the mare down the hill. She kept close to the mare keeping a close eye on her friend from the back. If he started to shift to much in one way or another it would be her job to move him back the right way. She had just decided this.
In her efforts to not actually what had been asked of her she chose to take a good long look at the mare in front of her. She hadn't taken the time to examine her before and now was the perfect time to do it. She was a dark mare with a light mane like starlight. To Ijn it was an unusual combination but it worked well. She also bore pale patterns on her coat of celestial objects. For a short while Ijn tried to focus her mind on these patterns but her thoughts kept drifting back to the question.
It wasn't that she couldn't tell Brioso what they were looking for. It was just that she wasn't sure she should. Her own father had thought she was a bit of a nut when she confided in him about it. How would a perfect stranger react to it? After debating about it in her mind she let out a long sigh. The mare hadn't asked for the entire story after all, so it would be alright to tell. "The thing that we're looking for..." She started finally breaking the silence. "It's a stone chamber hidden behind a thin rocky door. There should be something inside that interests us..."

"Oh? Like... Some sort of hidden treasure?" Brioso replied, relieved that the silence was finally broken. However, the other mare's rather mysterious answer made her even more curious about the pair's purpose. She paused, wondering if she should question Ijn further or wait till later; after all, they were sort of on a mission to get Blix to a warmer place where he could rest.
"Well, don't think anyone I know had spoken of a place like that here before," She mused out loud, frowning a little. Putting her curiosity aside, she grinned when she found what she was looking for; a cave with a small entrance, normally hidden from view but easily spotted if it was purposely being searched for. Picking up speed, she smiled, "Then again, I'm sure there are little secrets here and there on a mountain so high. This cave, for example, had gone unnoticed for a while! To be honest, I wasn't sure if I could find it with all this snow..."
Her voice faded away into silence as she blushed, realizing that it sounded rather irresponsible of her.
