Z returned to the dorm room with a surprising armload of packages, the best of which, in his opinion was already hidden on one of Dem's 'sugar crashes', the better to keep it secret. But some of these, already wrapped and ready thanks to a holiday influx of funds from 'various sources' ((in this case mostly his mother, including a box under the electric tree that he'd scrounged up from somewhere, of course decorated mostly by things from dem that glowed, twitched, glittered or otherwise combined all three.
He dropped the bags and began resorting out some of them into a single bag of selected gifts.
"Get your coat, I have to drop some things off with my cousin. Your my escape plan..." He informed Dem.

In Demy's humble opinion their tree was the best tree ever. It glowed, it was shiny, and it was covered in enough random stuff to make a raver proud. He had been quite proud of his decorating job, and for good reason!
He scrambled from his current position (which HAD been sitting by the tree and poking at the curious box underneath it), and hopped up to face his roomie.
"Does this mean I can play in the snow? Pleasepleasepleaseplease PLEAAASE man come oooon!"
Coat nabbed, the pleading continued even as he was shrugging it on.
"Please? Pretty please? Pretty panda please? .....wait cousin? What?"

"We'll -see-" He said firmly in regards to playing in the snow. "Yes, Cousin, related by blood but not a 'sibling' - child of my mother's sibling - aka, aunt or uncle as the case may be... who's been in my desk?!"

"Cmoooon you haven't let me play in the snow yet and man if it disappears and you haven't let me play..."
Here he pouted. Heavily. He -so- wanted to play in the snow damnit!
"How come I've never met this cousin bef----well you seeeeeee Z-man, uhhh..."
Demy had to try and explain this without bursting out laughing. It was rather hard.
"My arcade rival stopped by...and tried to root through your stuff. Didn't get very far man."

Z slid the drawer further open to check what traps were sprung.
"... the mouse trap is missing, did he... oh...ink too..." he let out a low chuckle.
"Well... I trust he won't be trying -that- again." He smirked...
"Coat... come on, before they light the house on fire with 'christmas cheer' your meeting them now right?"

"Mouse trap is on my desk..."
Demy pointed to his own rather messy desk, the mouse trap sitting in the pile of glowsticks it had set off when it was flung that way. They were glowing dimly by now.
"And nope, probably not...my coat is on man!"
Look, he even had the slightly decent hoodie on, and not the one that looked like a bag of skittles had exploded on it.
"And I guess...fine fine, lead the way!"

Z stared at him for a long moment like he was assessing both for warmth and damage control then begrudgingly nodded.
"Fine... this way..." he said opening the door bag in hand, and lead the way on the walk to his cousin's house.

At last, about a 15 minute walk later they stood before a standard, ranch style home, 2 stories, pretty basic.
He stood in front of the door for a long moment listening to the muffled sounds within, christmas music... good, some singing... a trifle flat... fine. His aunt... fine... No smoke alarms... even better, maybe no one was baking yet. Then again there could be mixing bowls... that was dangerous.
He took a deep breath and shot Dem a look that said 'prepare yourself'
and rung the doorbell.

The walk could have gone by a bit quicker, if it wasn't for Demy trying to sneak off every few seconds to romp in the snow. Hell, even after giving Z his best reassuring grin at the door....he tried to sneak off yet again. Z would be busy with his family right! He could TOTALLY roll in the snow for a good few minutes and then sneak into the house unnoticed. Right? RIGHT.

And that's when the chorus sang on her Christmas music CD.
Oh- and the convient CRASH could be heard all over the house once the random knocking scared her senseless at the door. She had been standing on a 3 step ladder- hanging up some lights on the Christmas tree. Now conveniently covered in tinsel and other Christmas tree objects (which was a mix of glitter- and even a ornament dangling off of her red hair. )
Beth soon hurried over to the door- not really expecting visitors today. Yanking it open- she could only IMAGINE what she looked like to those outside the door. "Z! Its so nice to see you, Merry Christmas!" She handt registered the second person behind Z yet- still dizzy from the fall.

Z, whom had dragged his hoodie as far down over his eyes as he could from under his coat, shook his head slowly.
Somehow where there was Beth, there was disaster. It was amazing, he thought, that she wasn't hanging from the trim on the roof.
"Are you ok?" He said as an opener, it was polite after all... "Beth this is my Roomy Dem... Dem this is Beth, my cousin..." He waved the introductions.

Just a few more seconds and he'd be flopped down into the snow and...
WAIT WHAT?
Acid eyes quickly turned from the cold fluffy stuff to the door. And, of course, to get a better look he scrambled over and peered around his roomie. To further pull off the illusion of peeking around Z he even crouched down a bit to 'hide' behind the shorter boy.
It didn't work well.
"Beth? BETH! Hi!!!"
This simply couldn't have worked out any better! He knew Beth, Beth was awesome. For her to be related to Z was just...
....
It was cool, alright?

"Oh im fine! Really!" A little fall like THAT wasnt enough to get her down. Not when she had people to talk to now- her mother wasn't around and neither was Chloe.
Smiling she quickly noticed that one side of her head was heavier than the either, Curiously- she soon found the ornament hanging off her mane and removed it quickly. Holding it up to see which it was- a cartoony looking reindeer- she peered around as her name was called- seeing a certain blond that was clearly recognized.
"DEMY!" Forgetting that it was clearly below freezing point outside- hence the snow, she darted outside wearing nothing more than a large sweater and a long skirt. She soon pulled both Z and Demy into a large group hug. "Its SO good to see you both!" She squeed- who'd have thought? Her Cousin Z and her friend Demy knew each other!
"AHG GOD! YOU MUST BE COLD!" She said- quickly feeling her own toes turning into icicles. "Come inside- ill make hot cocoa!" Beth said- holding the door open. Wait... hot cocoa? That was asking for disaster.

"wait... you... know... how do you know Demy?" he said in first alarmed confused... followed shortly by "Ah! Nono! Don't trouble yourself, Let me... help."
He said help the way you might say let me take that dynamite away from the matches.
"Annnd then you two can tell me how you know each other" He said glancing between them both with some alarm.
Ohhh my god what had he -done-

"Beth!"
One more call of the name before the epic hug of doom got him. With a slight squeak of discomfort Demy returned the hug as best as he could then wiggled right out of it. Holy crap that had -hurt-, but he wasn't going to say anything about it.
"Cmon Z!"
Nabbing the other by his hand, Demy quickly followed Beth in and tried to tug Z along with him.
"We met at the mall one day, awesome huh?"
