I like the holidays. I LOVE the holidays. So, to commemorate their passing, I'm starting this thread.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE! except for Rio, 'cuz she's in New Zealand, and Fujin, 'cuz she's in England, and all the Canadians since they already had their Thanksgiving. But for everyone else, you get my sincerest wishes for a wonderful day filled with good food and lots of fun, whether you're with family, friends, or by yourself.
And, starting the day after Thanksgiving, no one will hear anything from my room except for a steady stream of Christmas music. LET THE HOLIDAY SEASON BEGIN!! 8D

QD went inside and sat down at a booth, leaning back against the wall, heaving a sigh like a man throwing an anchor overboard. Across from her sat someone who looked like her twin, only with black hair instead of brown. "So, this is it, huh?" QD mused. "The one place during this hectic season where I can kick back." She plopped a rather large glass of eggnog on the table. "Want any, DQ?"

The black-haired one just started at QD. An uneasy moment of silence passed between the two.

"What?" QD looked taken aback. She meekly took a sip of her drink. "Is something wrong? Am I inadequate company?"

DQ let out an exasperated laugh. "Oh no, it's not your company. Of course, why would I find my own company boring?" QD made to interject--maybe one COULD find their own company boring--but DQ powered through. "But...you DO realize how crazy you sound right now, don't you?"

QD leaned forward, excited. "Ooh, I bet we seem like Jack Sparrow from the third movie, right? Where he has the entire crew of himself? That would be totally cool! We'd sail a really great ship, I bet!"

[ xd It didn't hit me until afterwards. Oh, Jack, you silly man. But once you've been to the other side and back, what's left to do in life? Don't you wonder if you'd find yourself annoying if you met yourself in the street one day? Or would you be best friends? Hmm.]
DQ let out a sigh. "Yeah, we do seem like that, but we're also a) not dead, and b) not backed by a movie industry and 2 million devoted fans. That means we look crazy."

QD didn't note DQ's retort. She sighed. "I still don't like that ending. What a terrible way to finish the story!" She brought out a hip flask and took a swig. "Aaaahh! Stupid woman! Stupid Will!"

Hope everyone enjoys their Christmas Eve and morning! Or, if you don't celebrate Christmas, I'm sorry I'm not familiar with your customs but I hope you enjoy/have enjoyed them whatever they are! Speaking of, who celebrates what? I obviously celebrate Christmas, what about everyone else?

Our family celebrates Christmas to an extent. :] When my brother and I aren't lazy we put up Christmas lights and we exchange gifts but we've never actually had a tree.
My boyfriend celebrates Hanukkah so when I went over to his house... his mom dumped eight gifts on me. XD I fill like I'm double dipping in my holidays. XD

Christmas is a serious tradition, and even though it's the most emotionally stressing for my family members, I enjoy the heck out of it. I usually spend Christmas Eve with my mother and sister. We make quiche, watch The Muppet's Christmas Carol, and open all of our presents. We may or may not have a tree/decorations. (This year my mom decided to not do Christmas. I am uber depressed.) On Christmas morning, my sister and I drive over to my father's house and spend the morning there opening presents and hanging out. I always make sure to have a tree there, although this is the first year I didn't get a chance to put on decorations (besides lights). Then my sister and I go back to our mother's home where we proceed to a dinner thrown by a family member from her side of the family. The day after Christmas, my sister and I rejoin our father and drive to Phoenix, Arizona, to see his side of the relatives there. We stay there until New Year's Day.
I never really get a break during the winter holidays.

Christmas was fun. We go to my dad's parents house and have christmas with his family. We have a 'chinese christmas' where we bring a present for around 30-50 dollars, and we put them all in the middle (the presents are unisex) and we draw numbers and we pick a present. then if the next person wants that present they can steal it from you. A present can be stolen three times and a person can only be stolen from three times. And so on and so on. people, it gets rough there. and. people yell at eachother.
On Christmas morning we open present from "Santa" and do stockings. And then later in the afternoon, we go to my grandma's and open presents and eat a good meal. Its fun and hectic.
This year my boyfriend met my parents for the first time. It was interesting.

Wow, that sounds like...what is it called again? White Elephant? where everyone steals each others' gifts. Or at least that's how it's known around here.
Ooh, how was the meeting? Went well, I hope?
