Characters: Priest Seth: Seth is the son of Priest Akunadin, the Pharaoh's brother. His mother was a commoner in a village outside the main city where the palace was. He saw very little of his father for the first few years of his life. Then when his mother passed away he and Akila were sent to live with Akunadin in the palace. Because his mother was a commoner Seth was seen as inferior compared to his cousins, Atem and Yugi/Atsu. Akunadin put a lot of pressures on him to train and study hard. Because of his lifestyle he is very serious and somewhat cold. He is very protective of his sister and very loyal to the Pharaoh and Princes. He belives in honor and justice. When he's older he becomes the High priest and is entrusted with the millenium rod. Akila: Akila is Akunadin's daughter, Seth's sister and cousin to the princes. She is the only female left in the family and therfore the only one able to carry on the royal blood. She is engaged to Atem from an early age because he is the heir to the thrown. She gets treated better then everyone else because of her status, even Atem has to study and train but she doesnt have to do anything. Well more like she CANT do anything. She has magician abilities and craves adventure but she isnt even allowed out of the palace grounds. She cant fight or play a lot of things the others could. And most importantly she cant be punished. If anything were to happen to her where she couldnt have a child the royal bloodline wouldnt continue. Because she is forced to have this lifestyle she blames and takes her anger out on Atem because he is who she is being forced to marry. Atsu/Yugi: Atsu is the son of the Pharaoh and the younger of the two twins. Because Atem was born first Yugi isnt the heir, not that that bothers him too much. He isnt power hungry in the slightest and is actually quite shy and timid. He thinks Atem is the right man for the job. However he is treated as much more of a nuisence then a prince, always having to do things for Atem and making sure his brother is happy. No one really cares if anything happens to him. So he has become very insecure and a bit lonely with the lack of attention. He preoccupied his time with finding out more about the new healer girl that was brought to the palace. He instantly liked her once they met but hasnt quite realized his feelings yet. He felt bad for her and tries to comfort her as much as he can.

Characters: Atem Atem was the first born of Pharaoh Ahknemkhanen. He and Atsu/Yugi are indeed twins, but because Atem was born first, he is the heir to the throne. His marriage to Akila was arranged when he and her were only children. Because of this, and other factors, Akila constantly teases him and disrespects him. And because of her actions, Atem resents her back and teases her just the same. Because he is to take the throne, everybody forced Atem to study hard. Although he is responsible and obeys, sometimes he switches places with his twin to get away for a while. Atem is nice, but can be rather stubborn and hot headed, especially around Akila. Ammeterasu (aka Amme) Ammeterasu (commonly just called 'Amme') was born to common folk within the kingdom. However, when her parents discovered she had the unique ability to heal people (and animals), they brought her to the palace. They pleaded for them to take her, that it would benefit the Pharaoh and royalty. They also did this to give her a chance at a better life. They accepted her and planned to train her so that her power could grow. Amme is considered an outsider, so through out most of her childhood she was picked on and teased. She is shy and quiet, and as a child, a bit of a cry baby. When she becomes older, she is still quiet but she has a wise and gentle aspect to her. Also, since she has helped many people in the palace, she is no longer picked on (and if she is, very little). She is closest to Atsu/Yugi. Joey/JonoJono is the child of Seto and Akila's family slaves. Because his parent's are still alive, Jono is not expected to serve them yet- only to stay out of the way. Because of this, he is rather rough with other kids- demanding respect and friendship. Some kids are actually friends with him, most pick fights with him or tell grownups which result in him getting in a lot of trouble. He especially gets into a lot of fights with Seto- since he constantly picks on him. He is however friends with Atsu. [[should I add Kisara and Bakura here now?]]

((dont forget Jono/Joey biggrin omg those smilies are soooooo cute!!!!!!! Seto's looks weird though))
"How about tag?"
"No."
"Ball?"
"No."
"Jump rope?"
"No. I'm not playing anything with you." Seth replied to his little sister, preoccupied with reading a scroll as he walked through the palace to the library. He didnt have time for games, he had work to do. Even at such a young age his father expected so much of him, while Akila had no responsibilities and all the time in the world.
Akila sighed exaduratedly, walking behind Seth with her hands laced together behind her back. Everyone was busy! Leaving her bored and un entertained. "But Seth!!!!" She whined.
"Stop youre whining and find something else to preoccupy your time with." Seth spoke as they got to the library. He returned the scroll and went through a few, grabbing them to take with him.
Atsu was currently stuck in Atem's lesson in writting for the day. He sighed a little and looked at the page. He was almost finished! He didnt know why he always did whatever Atem asked of him even when he didnt want to. He was always stuck doing the most boring stuff! He could be playing right now! with a final stroke he was finished. He smiled and handed his work to the tuttor.
"Very good Atem, you may go now." The tuttor said after inspecting is work.
Atsu grinned and ran off down the hall, looking for his friends and brother.
((Maybe this could be the first time Atsu and Amme meet? or no should they already be friends and the others pick on her?))

[[perhaps they just met? Trying to skip over the scene where they introduce her and acceptance blah blah blah.]]
It may have been hard to do, but it was worth it. Jono had climbed the perfect tree- perfect cause nobody would be able to see him up here. He looked down, seeing most of the royal children now out to play. "Pft," he said tossing some unripened dates then catching them. "I'll show those stuck up kids...." he said. He saw a few kids he especially hated, so he took aim and tossed a few dates at them. Direct hit! "Ha! You guys are such babies! Stop crying!" he called out to them as the kids who were hit actually did cry. The other children yelled at Jono, calling him a dirty rat and threatening to tell a grown up. Jono stuck his tongue out and called out again, "Go ahead! nobody can get me up here!"
Atem easily convinced Atsu to take his place today in studies. Sure, he knew they were important, but they were so boring! Atsu got to play a lot more then he did, he just wanted a day off. He was walking through the halls, intending to go outside with the other kids. When he walked past the library he looked inside for a moment. He saw Seth and.... Akila! He quickly turned his head around and continued down the hall quickly- not wanting her to see him. He wouldn't mind being friends with her, but she was so mean to him! Ever since they arranged their engagement, Akila was nothing but rotten to him! And of course he wasn't going to stand for that! He was a prince after all, and he was going to be Pharaoh! He just hope she didn't see him....
It was already a day since Amme had been at the palace, and she deeply missed her parents. Sure she had a beautiful room, clothes with no holes in them, food, comfort, servants; but she didn't have her parents anymore. Well, they told her they would visit, but she was already so lonely that she wished they would come now. Not only that, but there was no one to play with. Nobody wanted to play with her- so far she would get dirty looks or dirty comments. But as the hours went by, more and more children would, what seemed to her, look at her, whisper in each other's ears, and then laugh. So she stayed away from all of them. She sat in the field where all the children were playing, but off in the distance, curled up and just watching. She watched as the boy in the tree threw things at the other children. She bit her lip a little, why did he do that? That wasn't very nice.
[[She's going to be picked on much more, they are still finding out who she is. How should Jono and Akila act towards each other? I'm still deciding how Jono and Atem will act towards each other- if they are friends it's probably only because of Atsu. Still also deciding how Jono and Amme will deal with each other. He probably doesn't like her at first- since she's like him but she's not a slave. He'll eventually be her friend though.]]

Much to Atems dismey, Akila had indeed spotted him as he passed by the library. Who couldnt spot him with that hair? Her bored expression vanashed and she smiled devilishly. "Atem! Aaaaatemmmmm!" She called, picking up her ball and running after him. She saw him just about to go outside and she raised her hand with the ball. "Lets play catch!" She said and threw tha ball hard at his back. She giggled. "Oh c'mon, cant you catch?" She mocked.
Seth saw Akila run off and he grabbed his scrolls and followed, heading outside to read anyway. He felt a little responsible to keep her from bothering the princes. Though that never really worked. She constantly teased them. He sighed as he reached her and walked past, over to the prince. "Are you alright Prince Atem?" He said, always using prince while Akila just called him Atem. He glanced outside, hearing some commotion. He saw one of the lowly servent children, Jono, the one he hated most, in a tree pestering the royal children. He narrowed his eyes and leaned down, picking up Akila's ball with one hand and holding the scrolls with the other. He easily through the ball into the tree, successfully hitting the brat and knocking him out of the tree. He made his way over and glared at Jono, his family's servent boy. "What do you think youre doing you lowlife?" He said.
Akila watched as Seth threw her ball into the tree. "Seth! Thats mine!" She said, sounding just like the spoiled brat she was.
Atsu showed up from the other direction, just in time to see Jono fall out of the tree. Though Jono was a servent he became quick friends with him. "Are you alright Jono?" He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly as he leaned over, placing his hands on his knees. He then glanced at Seth who was always mean to Jono. "You shouldnt hurt your servents Seth." He said with a frown. Even though he had seen many servents punished he was still extreamly kind and thought it was wrong.
Seth narrowed his eyes at little Atsu. He may be a prince so Seth paid hima little respect but he didnt respect him like he did Atem and he thought he was much more of a whinny little pain. "Not to be rude prince Atsu but I will do what I wish with what I OWN." He said and smirked a little.

[[no pron, I was away for a while too, still kinda am XP]]
Atem stopped in his tracks when he heard the ringing of his name. He knew exactly who it was, there were very few who called him by his name, rightfully. Akila rightfully should be calling him 'prince' but she didn't. He growned out loud and tilted his head slightly in a pout. "What do..." was the only thing Atem got out before he felt something smack him in the back. He jump and rubbed his back a bit. Atem swung around and glared at Akila. He growled, "What's your problem Akila!? That's not how your supposed to act!" He meant both toward him and how she should be acting in general. Soon after Seth apologized for his sister's actions. "I'm fine...." he said rubbing his back still- he could still feel the burning from the initial hit. Why couldn't Akila be like her brother? Atem had no problem with Seth whatso ever. Seth soon walked off outside to deal with what ever was happening out there. Atem looked back at Akila. "I wouldn't play ball with you anyway. YOU'RE not allowed to," he said almost rubbing it in her face. He was still sour from being hit.
Jono was continuously laughing at the kids he hit until he saw a round speeding object headed toward him. No way he could dodge it. SMACK! Right in his face! The hit caused him to loose balance in the tree and fall straight down on his back. Jono couldn't breath for a second or two, he lost wind from the fall. But when he could he coughed a little and sat up glaring at Seth. "What am I doing?! Why did you hit me in the face?! I didn't do anything to you!" Jono said as if he did nothing wrong. He looked over hearing a familiar voice. It was Atsu, his angry look disappeared when his friend stuck up for him. "I'm fine," he said with a smile.
Amme watched as Seth threw the ball at Jono. When it hit him and she saw him lose balance she covered her eyes frighteningly, not wanting to see the boy hit the ground. She then spread her fingers apart to see if he was ok. He was sitting up, but obviously he wasn't ok. She stood up and walked over to him, keeping her hands close to herself. She could see various scratch marks on his face from the contact with the ball. She kneeled down and asked him in the lowest timid voice possible, "Are you ok?" She put her hands on his face to try and heal him but was stopped.
Jono sneered at the new healer girl. When she touched his face he simply pushed her back away from him, causing her to fall backwards on her rear. "I don't want your help so don't touch me!" He growled at her. She had absolutely no royalty in her blood as he did but they treated her like one of them! She made him sick. Jono looked back at Seth and stood up. "You'll never really own me," he sneered back at him. Jono hated the idea that he belonged to these rich snobs, he couldn't just roll over and take it.
After she was shoved she shuffled back a little and kept her eyes down at the ground. She never really spoke to anyone and she never made eye contact with anyone either. She then eventually stood back up slowly, trying not to gain Jono's attention again.

Akila cossed her arms and stuck her tongue out at him. "Youre such a bossy brat Atem." She said. But it was true, she wasnt allowed to do anything basically. She was told the ball could hit her and hurt her. She usually had people keeping an eye on her to stop her from doing anything she wasnt supposed to but Seth somehow convinced them to let him watch her sometimes and he let her do things. He always said if she dindt know how to do anything she would be an embarressment to him. "I'll do whatever I want!" She proclaimed. "Look! I even have been practicing my magic!" She said and moved her hands which made a small barrier. She smiled proudly, trying to show off and get his praise.
Atsu looked at the new girl curiously. He had heard about her but hadnt seen her before. He was surprised by the way Jono reacted to her. He figured she must feel pretty alone right now. "How rude Jono." He felt bad and moved around the two fighting boys and grabbed her forearm gently. "Are you ok? I havnt seen you around here before. My name is atsu. Im a prince." He said cutely, not bragging or anything as he introduced himself.
"May family already does you simplton, well mainly my father I suppose. But I can even tell your loser father what to do and he has to do as I say. You shouldnt be so outspoken as a servent but i'll make sure they beat that out of you." He threatened. He really wished he could have the boy beaten until he would stop talking. He was so annoying. "You should be gratefull we didnt just throw you onto the streets after your father became our servent. Youre useless."

Atem rolled his eyes at Akila's immaturity. He crossed his arms when she said she has been practicing her magic. He knew she was able to use magic, but she wasn't supposed to use it or practice. "You're not supposed to use magic either. Even if it's something so simple," he said not impressed by her skill. Jono kept an angry face until Seth mention beatings. More then a hint of fright crossed his face. Sure he acted tough, but he was still young and not very strong. There was no way he could defend himself. "I'd rather be on the streets then be in this stupid place," he yelled back at Seth and attempted to walk away from Seth. Amme looked a little frightened at first when Atsu grabbed her forearm. Most people have teased and picked on her, so it was no wonder why she was easily frightened. However, once he started talking the frightened look faded. She didn't say anything at first- especially when he said that he was one of the princes. "I uh...." she murmured trying to bring herself to say something. "My...um..... my name is A-Ammeterasu...." she managed to say even though she stuttered it. [[EDIT: JESUS ******** CHRIST I found a picture of Yugi in Egyptian times XD: http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g165/manda_manman/Yugioh/9kt7w5.pngalso these are cute too: http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g165/manda_manman/Yugioh/ac7w9z.pnghttp://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g165/manda_manman/Yugioh/28t8g0i.png ]]

Akila huffed, getting all worked up because he mocked her magic that she had worked so hard on and called it simple. He was constantly putting her down and telling her what she does is wrong. She could obviously never do anything right according to him. "You dont do anything youre supposed to do either! You have Atsu go to youre classes so you can laze around. Hmph some king you'll turn out to be." She made fun of him, knowing that was the best way to get him mad by mocking him being Pharaoh, something he took great pride in.
Seth smirked when he saw the other boy frightened. He then glared as he started walking away. He grabbed him by the arm and threw him down to the ground. He wasnt usually violent but he lost his temper around Jono so easily. "You'll bow to me and ask for my permission to be excused!" He ordered. For a young boy he seemed to already act like an adult, shouting orders and demanding respect.
Atsu smiled kindly as she stuttered out her name. It was delightfully cute the way she acted. The girls he was used to being around were Akila and Mana, who were loud and a bit obnoxious so he thought it was rather nice she was a bit different. "I like your name." he said cheerfully. "Are you the new healer?" He asked interested in knowing more about her and why she was there.

Atem gulped for a second, how did she know they did that when all the adults didn't even notice? "N-no we don't!" he tried to lie to her. He especially didn't like when she made fun of him being Pharaoh. He was chosen to be Pharaoh and he was going to do a good job! He had to. At least, that's what everyone kept telling him- how he will rise far and bring the kingdom even further. "And I'm going to be a great king! Just you see! And you're going to be my wife whether you like it or not!" he shouted back at her. Just as she knew how to push his buttons, he knew how to do to her. She didn't like the arranged marriage, well, neither did he but he put up with it.
Jono suddenly felt a clinched hand around his wrist and then suddenly felt hard ground. He looked up to see Seth who had thrown him down. Jono slammed his hands down onto the ground and glared up at Seth. He hated this place! He hated Seth the most! Why didn't he and his parents just run away from this all!? His eyes reddened but he held back the tears he wanted to shed. "I'll come and go as I please!" he shouted back at Seth as he foolishly threw a handful of dirt in his direction. Jono's rage blinded him from consequence.
Amme smiled a little when he said he liked her name. She was a little shocked though, this was the first child who has been kind to her and actually wanted to talk to her. She was still a little cautious. "Oh um.... my mom used to call me 'Amme' for short," she added with a small smile. She nodded her head innocently and replied, "Mhmm, t-they um.... they want me to be the healer for um the Pharaoh and um... others..." She then thought for a moment and then said, "I guess.... um.... your healer?" Atsu said he was a Prince, so she assumed that he was going to be Pharaoh. She didn't know about his older twin bother.

Of course Akila noticed their little switches. Not that she would admit she payed that much attention to Atem and where he was. Though sometimes she did have a bit of trouble telling them apart but while following Atem sometimes she saw them switch. "uh huh! I saw you!" She argued. She laughed at him just to make him mad when he said he would be a great king. "haha yeah right." She got a little more irritated when he mentioned her being his wife. She couldnt imagine have to respect him and be nice to him and bear his children and stuff like that. It made her sick just thinking about it! "No way! I'm never marrying you!" She said though she knew she really didnt have too much of a choice.
Seth had just about enough of this guys disrespect. He was below him and Seth wanted to make sure he realized that! He covered his eyes quickly as Jono threw dirt at him and he let out a fustrated growl. "Why you little..." He muttered and moved to swiftly kick him while he was down on the ground.
"Amme..." Atsu repeated with a nod to remember. "Yeah, well youre really goung to like it here-" he stopped when he took note that Jono and Seth's little fight was escallating into something more physical. Jono was his friend and he wasnt going to let Seth hurt him! He quickly moved in front of Jono protectively, getting Seth's kick instead while saying "Stop it!" He fell to the ground quickly, holding leg where Seth's kick hit. His eyes teared up quickly and he rubbed his eyes with his forearm.
Seth looked horrified after realizing Atsu had taken the hit for the slave. "M-my prince..." He said, face paling a bit. It wasnt his fault! It was all that stupid slave Jono's fault! He hadnt meant to kick the prince! He gave Jono a death glare and then bowed to Atsu with his head lowered even more. "I'm sorry, It was an accident." he said quickly, hoping he wouldnt be punished himself.
Atsu looked back at Jono after whiping his eyes and he smiled. "You ok Jono?" He then looked back at Seth and nodded. "You shouldnt be so harsh on Jono Seth." He said, being very forgiving as usual.

Atem bit down on his lip when she said that she saw them. He knew if she told anyone he and his brother would be in a lot of trouble- and he wasn't used to being in trouble! Not only that, but if she did they may not be able to fool the grown ups anymore. "No we don't Akila! You're just making it up!" he said stubbornly. He was still ticked off that she didn't believe he would be a good king. Everyone else believed he would be a good king, he knew it himself too! But she disrespected him so much that she questioned his leadership skills! "You're going to marry me and you're going to have to respect me and do what ever I want!" he shouted back at her. He wasn't going to take this! Out of all the people in the palace, the only one to treat him like this had to be the person he had to spend the rest of his life with! He didn't want to marry her, but if he had to he had to.
Amme blinked a few times when Atsu stopped. She turned to see what was going on only to witness the two boys fighting. She brought her arms close to her body watching frightfully- it was getting bad. Suddenly she saw the one boy go to kick the other, but Atsu jumped in front of the two. She didn't see anything else, as she covered her eyes again, afraid to see what happened. But she did hear the boy's foot make contact with something, that made her gasp a little. She brought her hands down to take a look. Amme saw that Atsu took the hit- a bruise was starting to form on his leg. Amme simply walked over and knelt down to look at his leg. She put her hand over the forming bruise and started to heal it. It didn't take very long, only a matter of seconds.
Jono cringed and tried to protect himself against Seth's kick. He shielded his eyes away, waiting for the contact...... but it never came. He peeked to see what happened to see that his friend protected him! "Atsu...." he said in shock, shocked because he took the hit for him. Jono stood up and walked over to his friend. "Atsu are you ok?" He said putting his hand on Atsu's shoulder. He then gave a death glare back to Seth, "Look what you did!"
"Jono....." Amme said hoping he wouldn't start another argument. She was learning names as she heard others say them.
Jono looked down at the girl and shouted, "Shut up! Nobodies talking to you! Just leave!"
Amme jumped up from fright. Jono scared her a lot, he was always so angry- or so she thought. She backed away slowly from the group.
"Go! And if you tell any grown ups about this I'll find you!" he shouted again. He was so stricken with anger towards Seth he didn't kow how to extinguish it. So he lashed out at someone else.
[[Yea I found that picture on a message board and was shocked myself XD now if I could only find one of Joey XD
I keep forgetting to mention, Amme can heal other people (and animals) but she can't heal herself for some reason. Just a small tidbit :3 ]]

"I am not!" She said. It just made her more and more angry that he didnt admit it. Her eye twitched when he said she would have to do whatever he wanted. Plus what seemed to bother her even more was knowing that Atem would have many more wives but she couldnt be with anyone else. She wasnt allowed around any men but trusted priests and the princes. And since Atem hated her he would surely only use her to bear an heir and then get rid of her. She hated him so much. "Youre not fit to be my husband or the Pharaoh! Since I carry the royal blood it really doesnt matter what you say! I'll marry Seth! He's much better then you!" She said angrilly, smirking after she finished. She really did admire and love her brother but it was just a family love and plus she knew he would never go against the pharaoh and princes.
It hurt but it was worth it for his friend. Atsu smiled reassuringly at Jono. "Dont worry Jono I'm-" He suddenly felt a hand on his bruise and he winced slightly, looking back at Amme as she healed him quickly. His eyes widened, tears gone along with the bruise. He was surprised. Sure they used magic sometimes to heal but it usually took a while and quite a few people working together but this girl healed him so fast all by herself.
Seth's eyes widened too as he looked up and saw her healing powers. Astonishing. He thought. He was a brilliant boy so while the other children like Jono, were frightened by her he foound it interesting. He could see why she was brought here. What a valuable tool. Then Jono yelled at him and his temper spiked again. "What I did?! Its your fault!" He yelled back at his slave. He stood up with his eyes shut, trying to focous on his temper. "Whatever, I cant be around you anymore." He turned on his heel quickly and walked back to where he left his scrolls. After picking them up he started walking away to find a place to read while thinking how stupid Jono was.
Atsu smiled at Amme and opened his mouth to thank her but Jono started yelling at her. He stood up, grabbing his friend's wrist to stop him. "Jono! Stop it! She just helped me!" He tried to stop his friend. He sighed and turned back towards Amme. "Thank you Amme." He said, stepping closer to her. He figured he should try to do something before they had a chance to fight again. "Do you wanna play a game?" he asked Amme.

Atem's eyes widened for a moment, she could technically marry her brother- they both had royal blood. He was so disorientated from anger that he didn't realize that his father and their father would not allow such a thing. Instead, he feared that she really would do this and that he just jeopardized his kingdoms chance at a future heir. In a panic, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward him. He shouted at her, "You're going to be my wife and that's that! It's your job to be my wife!" Atem widened his eyes again as he broke from his anger streak. He let go of Akila's wrist quickly and stepped back a little. Nobody was allowed to touch her, not even he could.
Jono stuck his tongue out at Seth when he turned around and left them. He then smiled widely as if he was victorious against Seth. Jono then felt Atsu's hand around his wrist. "But...." Jono said about to say things about the girl but stopped himself. After all, Atsu just protected him from Seth. He nodded in compliance but looked away with his eyes. He still didn't like the girl, he didn't like that she was just as lowly as he was in the eyes of these rich snobs and yet she was treated highly. Jono didn't even care if she could heal, big deal.
Amme stopped herself from running away after Atsu stuck up for her. She tilted her head slightly and asked, "What type of a game?" She played a few games with some children in the village, but she played a lot more with her parents. She looked off to the side to see the other kids staring at the three of them, pointing and whispering. She looked back, trying to ignore them.
"Why don't we play tag?" Jono said with a slight devious look in his smile. He pointed at Amme and said, "You have to be it!"
"What's tag? What does it mean?" she asked in a meeker voice. It was a game she never played, and she didn't like the way Jono suggested it.
"Means we have to run away from you cause we don't want you to touch us!" he replied.
"But I don't want to be it," Amme said sadly.
"Well you have to be it!" Jono replied.
Amme covered her face and shook her head, "Then I don't want to play that game!"
Jono put his hands on his hips, "Tch, baby."
