Ume was quite happy, she'd actually made it to the meeting place early, she felt -very- christmasy in her red coat, she'd even added a touch of silk ivy to her hair, she'd -wanted- mistletoe, but thought it risky, and Holly was a little -too- pointy to reside so close to her scalp. (even for someone whom was currently using large porcupine quills in her twist.)
Now she just had to hope that her invited victim -companion- for the christmas shopping, she had a -small- list, but most of it was just ideas, some where items to put together into -new- more complete items. And then there were the things she wanted to get for her new team.
And Caine... a small part of her mind whispered. Though she had no way of knowing if she'd ever see him again outside of her dreams. Just that -feeling- that lingered.
It would mean of course, slightly less to give family, but this was something -special- she could just feel it. The team, represented... something, something more, and not just because they were different. But more because it was a choice to be something, on how they chose to use these 'gifts'.
She rocked back and forth a little on the thick of her heeled boots glancing around for sight of the pretty girl whom had been nominated (under protest) as the team Leader, still smiling and raised her arm in a wave when she spotted her.

Christmas was one time of year that Rea allowed herself to give in, let go of all the defenses she had surrounded herself with all year long, and allowed the icy walls to be melted away by the spirit of Christmas. To her, Christmas was a time of hope, of wishful dreams and happy memories. It was a time when people young and old put aside their problems, their petty arguments, and were with the ones they cared about. 'Glory to god in the highest, and on earth, peace; goodwill towards men.' Lights would illuminate every home, the colors reflecting off the snow, bunches of holly and mistletoe hanging from every street corner.
Underneath it all, Reanna Marshall was a hopeless romantic. It was a very well-kept secret, probably one only her sister knew anything of. Very much a daydream believer, as Charys had so eloquently put it.
This year, however, the strawberry blonde Crystal student wasn't spending Christmas as she normally did. In previous years, she spent the time mostly holed up in her room, or taking care of her horse, or Christmas shopping for her parents with Eliza. But then she had met Eve, her new bright-eyed roommate, who had turned out to be Sailor Flora and her new patrol partner. Then she had met Charys Murphy, Sailor Nerissa, her 'kind of sort of was she really?' date and confident. Then she had met Sailor Lyra and Sailor Nemesis, Beth and Delphine, two more scouts who would come to be part of her team. And she had met Ume. Ume, the sweetest goth you would ever meet, who could talk about animal skulls as means of distraction against someone leaving.
Not bothering to avoid a rather large pile of snow, Rea went up on her tip-toes to peer over the crowds that swept the street, her blue-green eyes finding Ume's tell-tale black hair and pretty red eyes, lifting a hand in a half-wave before moving her way through the crowd, coming to settle by the victorian-y dressed girl.
"Anyone else decide to come?"

"Just us this time" She shrugged "But its kinda perfect! We can shop for them and they'll NEVER know what we picked up for them or where!" She beamed. "I -love- this time of year! I mean, I love trying to find those little somethings to make someone -smile- Oh god you should see the -mess- we made at my house making buckeyes!" She laughed . "I'm -so- bad in the kitchen sometimes, but I think it tastes better if you make a mess somehow.
She did a little careful pirouette of exuberance in black button up boots "well... I do wish we had um...winter gear just a bit." She smiled. "Those skirts of ours, aren't quite the same as wool and fleece... so! Where do you want to go first!" She clapped her hands together. She had gift wrap, ribbons and tags all waiting at home. Admittedly some of it had tiny skulls on it, but she was sure of its 'cute' factor.
She'd even secured a package for Rea, but she wasn't about to -admit- that yet.

Well she was glad Ume was happy. Despite the warm gloves, Rea stuck her hands further into her pockets, watching the girl spin and shaking her head a little, a smile just barely curling the corners of her lips. She seemed really into it -- very peppy, for a gothic girl, but she didn't complain. In fact, she liked that the black-haired girl was so cheerful. At one point in time it would have gotten on her nerves, but ever since meeting Eve, things like that had started to grow on her.
Walking next to her, the Marshall girl listened as Ume talked, nodding to let her know she was listening as she talked and every once in a while glancing in the windows, trying to find something their teammates might like. The problem was, they hadn't spent that much time together yet. Admittedly, it was partially her fault -- as group leader, she should have been organizing these things. But it always seemed they were busy. She'd have to get in contact with Chloe, maybe she'd be able to round them all up.
"I'm not sure... we can just keep walking until we find something," She replied after a time, peeking in another window and shaking her head when it was a pharmacy.

"I was thinking, of going by the um... themes we have you know? Does that make sense?" She asked and then made a little 'o' with her mouth peering into the window of an an 'mystical' shop.
"Oh! Look! Nemi...er... Del, she had that very 'dark' goth thing going, c'mere!" She said and opened the door with a wave of warmer incense sensed air and a jingle of bells. Once inside she glanced around till she found whatever it was she'd spotted in the window on a shelf. A little pair of earrings, silver or pewter it was hard to tell with as polished as they were, but their heads were swirled with tribal marks, and in their tiny jaws were little blue beads. the whole affair smaller than Ume's pinky nails. "Not to big do you think? I could make her a choker from my collection at home! hmmm...." She flipped it over for price... "7 dollars, is that too much do you think?" She asked anxious. "I'm not sure she liked -any- of us honestly." She said lapsing into the formality of victorian era in her uncertainty.

"You mean... the themes?" She replied, smiling a little, Ume's digression with the 'senshi matter' beyond cute. She couldn't help but play it up a little... encourage her, if you will. The fact that she was so expressive, especially when looking in the windows, only made Rea laugh harder... privately, of course. She would never laugh outright, she hardly did that as it was.
Letting herself be pulled into the shop, Rea took her hands out of her pockets, pulling off her gloves so she could finger the trinkets, eying them all as she held them to the light coming through the shop window. All the items seemed to sit on different shelves and tables around the store, glass displays reflecting beams of light, crystals making prisms on the purple velvet. The items themselves seemed to vary in age and complexity, some looking old and antique looking, while others (like a certain plastic chinese-looking cat) seemed to be a recent fad. Picking up a small statue of what looked to be a naked greed woman, (for Charys, maybe? She'd probably do better just giving her a pinup girl calendar,) she glanced over at what Ume had in her hand, leaning over a bit and making a face at the mention of Delphine.
"She and I don't see eye to eye," She responded a little flatly, setting down the bauble and picking up a few multi-colored scarves, playing with them idly.

Ume considered the words "don't see eye to eye"... bit her lip and held onto the little earrings anyhow. She watched Rea as she glanced over the cases, what would be good, for 'dream' anyhow? Maybe she could slip something in white the girl shopped... Ooo, actually... She picked up a book, Dream Interpretation.
It was perhaps too obvious, but really, who knew? She tucked it under a sleeve of gift wrap, purple with gold 'spirals' for a design. Oh!... that was perfect for her sister! A little extra couldn't hurt could it? She twisted a tiny keychain of a white cat with rainbow ribbons. The problem with little odd shops like this, she had to admit, was that they made her 'impulsive' about gifts, as she picked up another tiny charm as a gift and broke down, picking up a flat wicker basket to carry her 'treasures' so she could keep looking.
"So... you met her before that meeting?" She asked curious as she fingered a batik scarf she -thought- Beth might like, but really wasn't sure about if she -wore- scarves. Nebulas... technically she -should- stay in theme but, she wasn't at -all- sure how to play that one, well... or whirl pools, but she'd find something. Maybe a nose ring... was that too personal?
Hairpins!!! She fingered a few of the wooden sticks trying to remember whom had hair long enough to share them with. Sadly not Charys, though the thought of her with long hair was an odd one for some reason. But Beth had those pigtails, if she twisted them back!... oh yes, these, with the little star bangles and the rainbow of semi precious stones, that pair was -perfect-, she slipped them into her basket along with a single, selfishly, for her own collection, a short wooden stick with a tiny pewter leaf as a bangle.

Rea quirked an eyebrow at something in her hand, tiling her head to one side then the other, as if trying to figure out what it was before she put it back down again. She wasn't sure how most people felt about giving gifts, but for the elder Marshall girl, giving gifts was like anything involving 'getting to know' people -- she was just bad at it. In fact, she was the worst gift-giver she knew. The strawberry blonde girl just seemed to have a knack for NOT picking the right gift, no matter what the occasion. She distinctly remembered one mothers day, when she had brought her mother a fragrant bouquet, only to find out her mother was actually allergic to the pollen that made them smell so pretty.
Screwing up her face a little, she set the bauble down again, picking up a pair of danglingly star earrings, tucking them in the palm of her hand for later and moving to another table. "Yes. In a back alley, off by that one daisy-dukes surfer shop," She replied, leaning down to peer through a glass kaleidoscope, turning it to look at Ume through it, "It wasn't exactly an amazing experience. I don't think she looked too kindly on my sphere. Then again, she did have decay, I suppose you could look down on jus about anyone after that."

"I think your sphere is beautiful..." Ume said picking up a leaded crystal sphere and turning it to peer through it, examining the way the world looked through its colored glass.
"And we all dream..." She said putting it back down carefully and fingering a little dish of overly ornamented barrettes. "I could... bore you to tears with mine I bet." She laughed. "It's just... odd, lately they are almost like a chain. What about you? Does your...sphere affect how you dream? I mean, not that that's what I'm dreaming about mind you." She said hastily. Dreaming about blood was probably more unsettling than her powers seemed to be, no matter how oddly comfortable she was with them.

The redheaded girl paused, lowering the kaleidoscope for a moment, peering at Ume curiously for a second. Did she look... flattered, maybe?
"I'm sure they wouldn't bore me. If you remember them, they're usually fairly interesting."
She use to believe that dreams were just your mind processing what you had done during the day, or things you were unconsciously thinking about. Recently though... Ume wasn't the only one who had been having weird dreams. Leaning back against one of the walls, Rea watched the other girl for a few minutes, thinking quietly before speaking again.
"Don't worry, I don't think you dream about blood. But you're dreaming a lot lately?"

Ume nodded and blushed. "Well... more since... I ran into this... " She looked around and then back, turning a little statue of bast to face Rea.
"Well... he... I think he's a -cat-... but he looked, human for a little too, eeecxcept for the ears and tail but... " She trailed off.
"He's in my dreams, but... in my dreams I'm... well its... I don't know, its strange..." She admitted. "Like I'm... me but not -me-, and I'm no place I've ever been, and that's a dream so its normal but, I -know- it has to do with him and, what we -do- somehow...but I'm probably just, forcing that on the dreams." She added and turned the cat statue back again.

Rea blinked once, twice, three times before lifting her eyes to Ume's, giving her a quizzical look that clearly said 'I like you, I really do, but if you really think you ran into an Egyptian god, I will tell you straight up I think you're crazy.' She looked a little pacified when Ume clarified that it was a cat and not Bast whom she had run into, turning her eyes back to the other things around the room.
"Sounds like a guardian cat to me... Ast... ... you know who does that, sometimes," She replied in a low voice, peering around the room. Luckily, the clerk seemed preoccupied with another pair of customers across the room, certainly out of earshot, even if they weren't chatting animatedly.
She did look back at the black-haired girl, however, as she started to describe her dream. She looked neither surprised nor critical as she stumbled over it -- in fact, she felt an almost kindredship with her. She knew that feeling of confusion and knowing-but-not-knowing all too well. "You never know... stranger things have happened," She murmured, quoting her roommate, "but don't worry, I'm sure your dreams aren't as weird as mine. So what do you do, in your dream?"

"Depends on the dream" Ume said with a small shrug. "I think your right about what, but...Chloe's never heard of him, and... I wish I could ask cranky-kitty but she's -never- around." She mused. "What about you? What did you dream that was so strange?" She tiled her head, perhaps, this could be something to do with what they 'were' or 'had become' depending how you looked it it. It was hard to say.

"Yeah, tell me about it."
Astraea was kind of notorious for leaving senshi in the dark. Suit 'em up and shove 'em out there. Then again, she had always gotten the vibe that the silver cat was running from things; whether it was a physical of psychological threat, she had no idea, but it did make a little more sense as to why she was never around. Then again, there was that saying about assumptions.
"I dream... about weird bells. And golden bird cages," She replied after a second, her face going a bit flat. For some reason, just mentioning the bird cage was enough to sour her mood a little, but why, she had no idea. It was the silliest thing, and she shrugged it off as best she could. "Dreams are weird. Even I think that, and that's my... thing."
Taking a few things to the counter, she paid for them and stood to the side, waiting for Ume to do the same, so they could continue on their merry shopping way.

Ume smiled at her "Better dreams than Blood, at least people don't ask you if you contagious...or.. other things." She crinkled her nose slightly. "better perhaps if a GUY were senshi of blood." She said without further explanation and shivered making more of a face.
Hmm... not to self no golden bird cages, she discretely put something back on a display and fingered other charms. That had been close...
She picked one more thing free and joined her at the counter to Pay...pausing for a moment with a widening grin to indicate that Rea should turn around. "Part of this might be reassembled for you...spin spin spin!" She winked.
