I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories
I'm so tired but I can't sleep Standin' on the edge of something much too deep It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word Though we are screaming inside oh we can't be heard
I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories
I'm so afraid to love you, but more afraid to loose Clinging to a past that doesn't let me choose But once there was a darkness, deep and endless night You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light
That I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories
I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life pass you by Weep not for the memories

As the sun shone down over her brightly colored fur the once hardened warrior lioness flew through the sky, searching for the one named Reina. Since Eiji had left her with those two infants, and since she had left them to survive alone in a cave her heart had been constantly fighting itself. Though it didn't show she regretted leaving them, and now knowing they were alive brought a flicker of hope. That hope grew when she heard of a kind lioness who had taken care of them and given them love.
Now as her yellow eyes spotted a lone lioness her chest tightened with nerves, prepared for anger after abandoning the two. Carefully she landed in full view of the other, folding her wings to her back. "Reina...?"

Glancing around in all directions, the silver lioness who was clearly looking for someone, was startled, happy, and angered to hear a voice. Whipping her head around with an irritated grin, she spoke to the voice in which she quickly mistook for her troublesome sister. "Siara, how many times have I told you not to wander.... Oh..." she paused herself, blinking. Noting the other lioness was not her sister, but someone she had never seen. "Please forgive me, I.. I thought you were my sister." she said with a soft smile and a slight laugh. "She likes to disappear and sneak up on my time to time." she added gently.
Sitting down upon her haunches, she curled her tail about her paws and folded her wings softly against her back. "Hello there. It seems you know my name, but I'm afraid I haven't caught yours...?" she questioned, her guard alert encase this proved to be trouble - however the vibe she got form the lioness was both anger and over whelming sadness.

As she got close enough Akemi sat down as well, smiling in a friendly manner though tears wet her eyes a little. "I'm...Akemi. My sons...you know them...Hikaru and Kaoru...I heard you've taken care of them..." A lump formed in her throat as the tears threatened to spill, though she successfully held them back for now. She already felt her heart begin to tear in half even as she just introduced herself.

Reina listened closely, the two names striking a familiar tone. "Hikaru.... Kaoru.... yes I've met them and watched over them..." she said hesitantly. Even a cubless lioness such as herself knew better than to mess with an upset mother, however she could not keep herself from holding back her questions. "Please tell me...that they are ok?" she asked, concern clearly on her face as she noted the tears that threaten to burst from AKemi's eyes any second. Her wings fidgeted uncomfortably against her back.

Akemi looked away for a moment, gathering her thoughts before speaking again. It was getting harder to hold them back now, but she managed. "I honestly have no idea where they are. I haven't since the day I left..." She took a deep breath prepared to be yelled at. She knew she deserved it, but it would sting no less. "They are lost..?"

Reina flet as if something stabbed her deep in her chest and she wanted to cuff the lioness over her head but held back. Instead she took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "You left them.... If they are lost, I don't know. They.... I have been looking for them myself. I wanted to ask...." she paused, not sure if she should even say what she was about to. "I wanted to ask if they would stay with me. So I could take care of them properly." she said softly, eying Akemi. "Are you.... are you back for them?"

"I understand why your upset. Nothing I can say will ever make up for what I did, or in this case did not do...but right now I came looking for you to ask if you'd continue watching over them..." Her head turned as she hid tears, knowing the other could still see them. "I could not care for them before and now...I doubt they'd want me to come back. And I understand why..." Her head sank low. She had not seen them for so long, but this was still...they were still her blood and it hurt no less..

Reina blinked, her eyes wide. At this lioness really just told her she wanted to give up her cubs to some strange lioness she had never met all because she had heard of a good deed? Tilting her head, Reina could not find words at first. She gently took a hesitant step forward, and pressed her nose to Akemi's chin as she lifted up her head, smiling. "I'm sure deep down they would still love you, but if this is what you truly desire, I will not turn your request down." she said softly, wondering if what she wanted to say next would be better left unsaid at this current moment in time.

Akemi didn't move as she saw Reina move closer to her. She bit her lip when the other pressed her nose to her chin. Tears started to flow down her cheeks as she looked Reina in the eye. "Any lioness is better than me Reina...and you have been there. Something I never was..." Her heart felt as though somebody had hit it with a sledge hammer now, remembering back to those two tiny faces.

Brushing a tear away with her nose, she sat back and smiled again. "If you will allow me to say one thing, Akemi, let me say this. Your sons are truly wonderful boys, and they now hold a place in my heart." she said, her eyes shining with sincerity. She could tell the lioness was in immense pain, and she too could feel a hard lump welling up in her chest and throat. "Trust me when I say they are strong boys."

Though the pain did not let up, a little glimmer of joy joined it. She managed a soft smile, nodding her head. "They are...I..I don't know what they look like now...But I'll take your word for it..." She then stood, looking away for a moment before simply closing her eyes. If she was going to leave in one piece it had to be then...but did she want to? "I trust you..."

Reina also rose to her paws, though why she was uncertain. She looked to Akmi with a small smile. "I will not let you down. You have my word." She flicked her tail a few times and fluttered her wings. "You look as if your about to leave... will you not stick around a while?"

Akemi tucked her wings to her back as she fidgeted on her paws. "Is my staying wise..? What if one of them should see me? Though I'd deserve whatever they'd say or do..." Thinking for a moment she gave in and sat back down, looking around.
Hikaru streaks through the brush, clawing up the ground and surrounding foliage as he searches for Reina, tongue hanging out as tears drip down his cheeks from puffy red eyes. "Reina!!! Kaoru!!!" Stops short upon spotting two lionesses, tripping over his own paws as he end up rolling between them, landing flat on his back. Looks up wide-eyed trying to catch his breath.

Blinking at the sudden bursting in of a familiar voice, Reina watched as Hikaru tumbled head over tail and stopped right in the middle of them, her heart racing at the sight of him as she rushed to nuzzle him. "Good heavens, Hikaru whats wrong?! Whats wrong with Kaoru!?" she quickly demanded though in the gentlest way possible. As gentle as she could be with not only her new found crying cub at her paws but their true blood mother only inches away as well.
