Shanya has been miserable since the day he was born. His mother died when he was born and his dad killed himself not long after, and so he was left alone in the world. Everyone in town alienates him and often push him around. For years he had been a beggar on the streets, and passersby would kick dirt at him or make comments about how dirty he was or how lazy he was even though nobody would hire him no matter how many times he tried looking for a job.
When countless people complain about the beggar boy to their king, he takes action and arrests Shanya, forcing him to work as a slave although he doesn't know what he did wrong. Now Shanya would have to survive in his new home, alone and possibly forgotten...
...but not by the king, who seems to have a constant eye on him.Rules♠ Please be active ♠ No text talk, since the decoding is annoying ♠ PG-13 stuff only ♠ Minimize swearing ♠ No god-moding... on purpose that is ♠ Most of the time, at least two paragraphs per post ♠ One-paragraph posts are allowed, just not a continuous pattern ♠ If you're interested, please post a profileCharacter ProfileWhat is your purpose?--> (username) What is your name?--> How old are you?--> (13+) In bed you would be--> What happened in your past?--> This is how I see you-->

Meet Thy Characters What is your purpose?--> Crazy_Tomboy313 What is your name?--> Shanya Sachi How old are you?--> 13 In bed you would be--> Uke What happened in your past?--> My parents died the day I was born, and for years I had to live on the streets. It's amazing how I was able to stay alive, but I guess someone took care of me. For some reason, the citizens of this town don't like beggars, because they kept talking about how poor or disgusting I am. Eventually, I was arrested for a reason I don't know and my punishment for said crime was to be a slave. I don't really have any place to go, so I guess I'm a little okay with it... except they put the chain around my neck. This is how I see you-->

What is your purpose?--> BLacKeMoSAdneSS What is your name?--> Reiba Tsukiyomi How old are you?--> 15 In bed you would be--> Seke What happened in your past?--> Reiba had lived within the confines of the castle his entire life, rarely ever going outside. Being easily much more skilled, intelligent, and artistic, his father chose him to succeed him when the time came. His siblings were incredibly angered, so Reiba forced them to leave the castle. This angered his brothers, so Reiba was forced to make them leave the castle. He had been reigning for three years, since he turned twelve, when his people began to complain about a beggar. Reiba had heard enough about him, and arrested him, even though he wasn't sure why. Now he tries to help him from the sidelines, trying to make his already difficult life easier. But after realizing who this person may be, does Reiba realize his life's dream is coming true again? (Nice to read from you again)
It was just another day of begging and hearing complaints from the townsfolk. Shanya didn't understand why they had been treating him like trash and they just drop coins off for other beggars. It was probably his amber eyes, which had seemed to scare the passersby despite the innocence in them.
He had been orphaned since the day he was born, and he wasn't sure who took care of him while he was helpless. It was impossible for him to live as a beggar even as an infant. There was no way that could be possible. Whoever it was that took care of him, he would like to meet that person again.

(Likewise.)
Another towns member appeared in the throne room, which deeply upset Reiba to no end. Why were people complaining about a beggar? That poor person could easily be them, yet they were complaining about him. It was the same dialogue every single time.
"What is your complaint?" "It's that beggar again, my lord." "What has he done?" "He is crowding the streets, and doesn't get a job. He profits from our wealth when people give him money, yet he doesn't get a job to help repay out land!" "Very well, I will see to it that he is punished according to his um... crime."
Reiba had finally had enough, and closed the throne room for complaints for the rest of the day. He tossed on his Monk's robe and left the castle to go wander around outside. While out, he noticed a young boy on the streets. His hair was dirty, his face was caked with dirt, and his clothes weren't the best thing in the stores. Could it be... could this be the person everyone was complaining about? He walked over to the boy and placed a few coins by him. "You may need these." He murmured quietly, not letting the boy see his eyes. Then he walked away, leaving all of the bystanders confused and utterly shocked.

Shanya was a bit surprised when a stranger left some coins next to him. He didn't have time to thank the person, because he had walked away so quickly. Picking up the coins and placing them into his dreadfully empty pocket, Shanya got up from his spot on the ground and walked away to a bakery of some sort.
The coins were most likely enough to pay for a small roll, or at least it would be for normal people. The baker always seemed to raise the prices whenever Shanya walked in, and when he left the prices would go down. It always seemed unfair, but he could always live another day without anything to eat.
Suddenly, he tripped over someone's foot and fell. The very fall caused many to kick at him and call him names that he couldn't understand. He heard them saying things like maybe he should have worked at a brothel, which scared him dreadfully. He had heard what happened to those hired at the brothel, and he'd very much rather be a beggar despite the current abuse.

Reiba's head whipped around as he heard a commotion near the bakery. He rushed over to investigate, just to see some people kicking the young boy that he had tried to help. The young king didn't really enjoy that, and walked over to the group.
"Back off." He muttered. The hood covered most of his features, shrouding it in darkness. The group looked at him strangely, and one of them even had the guts to scoff, "And who do you think you are?" Reiba lifted his head suddenly, allowing the sun to catch on his eyes. Everybody stepped back instinctively. Everybody knew that only the reigning family had blue eyes, and that was what they saw when they looked up at the hooded figure standing near them. They immediately stepped back and ran off.
Reiba pulled his hood over his eyes again, kneeling down by the young boy and holding his hand out. "Need a hand?" He asked, his fingers slightly curled inward, but then straightened out once again.

There was a familiar voice and Shanya looked up to see the stranger that had helped him before. It wasn't long before the people who had hurt him ran away in a kind of fear. Shanya could have sworn that he saw blue eyes, but maybe it was just his imagination. Nobody from the royal family would care about him.
When the stranger held out a hand, Shanya gratefully took it, letting the person help him up. "Th-thank you very much," he said, smiling and bowing his head a little in thanks. He then realized that this was the first time he had genuinely smiled in years, and he felt happy.
His body hurt at the moment, and he wasn't sure if he could keep standing, but it was nothing. He had to deal with this every day, so it was normal.

Reiba helped the boy up to his feet, watching him to see any signs of distress. It was slightly, but he could see that the boy was in slight pain. His eyes looked it, even though he smiled. The smile was genuine, which kind of scared Reiba for a moment. Nobody smiled much in the castle, not even his own siblings before he had been chosen as the king.
"Come with me." Reiba muttered as he turned and began walking away. He didn't mind if the boy followed, which he hoped, or not. The stares that he was getting from other people didn't frighten him as he passed by. They instinctively made a clear pathway from him, and hopefully for the boy too. Since the boy was behind him, he allowed his hood to fall back a little, allowing his eyes to shine through the slight darkness of the hood.

Shanya followed the stranger, though he was unsure of whether or not he should. The bystanders separated so they could make room for the stranger to pass. Shanya could guess that the person was a well-respected person, whoever he was.
He watched the staring faces of the townsfolk. Some of them were upset, and others were scared. He heard some of them call him a 'witch', but he didn't know why. He never put the mysterious man under a spell. Strangely, the stranger voluntarily did what he did, and it confused Shanya since nobody had ever cared about him before. He was actually very happy that the person didn't kick him or anything like so many others did.

The duo finally appeared in front of the castle doors. Reiba pulled out a blindfold and, pulling his hood over his eyes again, he turned around to face the young boy. He held out the blindfold and walked toward the boy gracefully and slowly.
"Do you mind? You cannot see where I am taking you." Reiba murmured quietly. A soldier stood conspicuously on the side of the wall, almost unnoticeable. The soldier was waiting to the take the young boy away, to put him to work for the so-called crime that he was going to be arrested for.
The council of Elders had told Reiba right before he left the castle that he would have to find and reprimand this "beggar boy" and arrest him, since that is what the people wanted. And the powers of the king were supposed to be used to help his people and give them what they want, as Reiba had been told.

"I-I don't mind at all, if it's important that I shouldn't see," Shanya said, taking the blindfold and putting it on. He couldn't help but feel that he was walking into a trap. He heard a kind of metal clatter, and his fears were becoming much closer to being confirmed.
Still, he knew he shouldn't cause any trouble to the stranger. The man did help him out twice, so the least Shanya could do was do as he was told no matter how odd the favor, like putting on a blindfold, is.

Reiba nodded toward the guard, who clamped a chain around the boy's neck and roughly pushed him through the gates. The young king didn't want to do this, but he had no other choice. Even though he couldn't be overruled by his Council, he was going to do what was best for his people. And if that meant sacrificing one life, he would do it.
Reiba walked through the hallways of the castle, his monk's robes off and back in the closet. He was walking around in his average robes, finely tailored and made for the royal house. He hated them however, and picked the most dull of them all.
"So, did you do it?" One of his counsellors, Kitsuma, asked. Unlike the king, Kitsuma much enjoyed the fine tailorship of the robes that they were given, and sort of abused his power. It was he who had come to Reiba and proposed that he have the boy arrested. Reiba nodded, then gave Kitsuma the cold shoulder and purposely bumped him as he walked away.
