Raven had an uncharacteristically pleasant expression on her face as she set up the classroom for a private tutoring session. There was a tall stack of books on her desk, specially selected from her private collection, next to an assortment of other magic paraphernalia. The board was wiped clean, except for a simple problem written in the far corner, a sort of preparatory exercise.

Considering the pupil she was expecting, Raven had high hopes for a class full of progress. It wasn't often she got to teach such students, and the few gems she had found at D-Corp actually got her excited about her job all over again. This class would be wonderful, she would make sure of it.

A polite, quick rap of knuckles against the frame of the open door and Tyven entered, a brief smile touching pale lips as her gaze met that of her instructor's. The girl's husky voice was soft as she spoke, greeting her and stopping just inside the door.

"Good morning, Professor Millner, thank you for taking the time to conduct a private lesson."

If Tyven was honest, magic was intimidating to her, and someone as in-control as Raven made her feel more comfortable. Someone she could respect and trust. Mr. Zyane was a little too light-hearted for her tastes, though he had revealed something to her, something troubling... And Powerful.

Raven nodded at her student, prompt as expected. Respectful, quiet, in control. Oh, this would be fun.

"Not at all. I've taken the liberty of selecting a few texts that you might find helpful. Of course, if you have a particular goal you want to accomplish during this time, please let me know. If not, I will come up with a suitable lesson plan." Meaning she already had one, but was willing to let Tyven dictate part of her own education. A show of trust in a student she placed a fair amount of hope in.

"When you've informed me of your choice, please do the exercise on the board while I prepare the necessary materials."

The exercise was quite short indeed: List the ways the word "elements" can be used in the discussion of magic, from the most correct to the least, with short explanations of how and why. Raven glanced at it again, and wondered how this student would react to a slightly unconventional question. It would be quite interesting to see.
