User ImageShadows seemed to bloom in every corner as the days grew shorter and shorter, and chilly to boot. The icy feeling on the air filled his lungs as he breathed deeply which gave him a boost of energy; a jolly smile spread wide across his face. Erebus began humming to himself as he made his way toward his beloved Fallen.
His big black form was a mighty contrast to the rest if the white world. The holidays were approaching fast and he found the uplifting spirits grow inside him. He only hoped Sara enjoyed the winter as much as he did, and if not, he'd show her the wonders of the white, powdery world.

User ImageThe sun's rays did nothing to melt away the insistant nuisance, nor did it help to warm the place up. Opaque, yellow light shone down through the wispy white clouds casting a heavenly glow to the snow around her. Her golden glowing eyes glared at the prints her paws made with each step, as she tried to sweep away a clear, warm area on the ground.
Sara only wanted to lounge in the sun and feel its rays warm her fur. She wanted to fall asleep and forget about everything for at least a day, but it seemed that winter had finally caught up with her. Usually she was gone before the cold or the snow came, but not this year.
Others could call her the Scrooge of the year, but she'd tell them to bite her. Sara didn't hate the holidays or Christmas, she merely hated the weather and everyone's seemingly jolly spirits. If she had to be miserable then everyone had to be, or at least everyone around her. That brought a jolly smile to her face.
She gave up with trying to clear an area of land and decided she'd go look for Erebus. He hadn't been around for a few days, and she found she missed his being by her side. Sara winced at the last day they had spent together since he'd been gone. She knew she'd truly hurt him that time, but Sara promised to herself silently that she'd make up for it.

Erebus wondered deeper in the thickest part of the jungle until it gave way to a cleared path. Roses of every possible color lined the way to his Angel's home. He had begun to whistle "Jingle Bells" to himself when he heard the crunching of snow under paws. His ears perked up and a grin spread right across his face. Erebus bounded along the trail and sprung from his spot and the last few feet to her home, landing on a big mound of fur with an "Oomph."

Sara fell flat on her face as she lost balance and slipped on a piece of ice. Cursing to herself, she felt someone near. It was an exceptionally familiar presence that got her heart racing and the blood to rush to her ears. Thinking about him, speaking about him and dreaming about him was different from being around his ever-changing aura. Sara had no idea how close Erebus was until he landed right on her.
She playfully batted at him and turned over to nab one of his ears and nibble on it. "My love! I was just going to look for you," she purred rubbing up against him. He was warm; something she needed against the cold. "I've been lost without you; just a wreck wandering by myself," Sara spoke overly dramatical and put emphasize on every word, before simply and lovingly admitting, "I've missed you."

He let her words sink before smiling like a fool. Erebus felt his heart flutter and flip, "I've missed you too Angel, remind me to never let you fly away again," he nuzzled up to her and growled when she caught his ear. He wrapped his tail around hers and bent to lick her cheek; having a claw on either side of her, Erebus got a mischievous grin and shivered with an excited flutter. Erebus kissed her neck before sinking his teeth in. He drank greedily at first, but slowed and lapped at the wound on her neck kindly. Erebus wanted to do more, but held back . . . if only for a while.

A gun shot of fear ran up and down her spine at the look on his face. She wasn't sure what he was going to do; nor did she know if she'd be able to strike him when allowed. When he bent down to lick her neck, Sara gasped at the faint pain when he sunk his teeth in. Soon though, the pain had passed and she let out a small moan feeling her skin grow hot and tingled with a need to be closer to him.
"Love," Sara's breath caught as she shuddered. She said nothing more and waited until he was done.

Erebus sucked at the last drop of blood before the wound sealed back up. He felt her shudder and couldn't help but to grin deviously. She was loving this and he knew he could use it to his advantage. Thoughts flooded into his mind. Some were twisted, others loving. Erebus shook his head and looked at her a second time. There was fear laced into Sara's eyes and body.
Erebus licked her neck and moved to one side to allow her up, "Isn't the winter beautiful? The snow sweeps the world up into a white storm and leaves behind it's beauty," he looked around at his surroundings thoughtfully; hoping to change the subject and to chase away the tension.

Saraphina let out another moan and shut her eyes. She felt like she was on a high; adrenaline ran through her body, laced into her blood and threaded its way to her nerves, making her feel . . . Alive! Her lids became heavy and she almost cried out when he moved. She knew he had read the fear in her, but hadn't he seen the excitement? Mentally sighing, Sara stood up and lazily opened her eyes. He cared about her, she knew that, and he didn't want to hurt nor scare her. But sometimes, he was too careful.
"It's okay my love . . . But it's too cold, and what fun is there to be had in this, this stuff!" she exclaimed in disgust. He looked at the world around him with such awe, she felt jealous and wished he'd look at her that way.

Erebus gave her a skeptical look and chuckled, "What fun? There's plenty! Come, I can show you." He trotted off toward the more public and open places on the Isle, knowing she'd hesitate, but if what she had said earlier was true, then he knew his Angel would follow him.

Sara frowned as he went on ahead. She hated being around others that would neither attack her, nor give her any enjoyment in a good fight. Cubs and their parents would be out and about playing in the snow, laughing, playing and loving each other; all of it made her want to puke.
Others had said Sara wasn't fit for a mother, perhaps they were right. She hated little, annoying, crying babies. They were nothing but trouble. But then again, Sara had always dreamed of raising her own family when she was just a cub herself.
"Erebusssss," Sara whined as she finally decided to follow him, "Can we at least go somewhere without little ones?"

There was no disgust in her tone when she asked the question, but Erebus could feel the irritation that surrounded her. "Why do you hate families so much? Don't you want one of your own?" He couldn't help but to ask. He wanted to know what she thought about it and if it was even a possibility for her. Honestly, Erebus wanted to be a father and take care of his offspring. He never had a family, and so it would be something new to him.
"Angel, we can go anywhere you want. But, we have to go to the lake first, I know you'll just love it!"

"I don't know. I just do," Sara shrugged her shoulders. She didn't want to continue with the topic, but it seemed he wouldn't give up. "I do or I did when I was younger, now it just seems like a job I'd have to deal with. Besides, what young-ling in their right mind would want a cold hearted lioness like me as their mother?"
Sara lagged a couple of feet behind him. She didn't want him to see the confusion, nor the hurt in her eyes at the lies she told herself. Maybe she wanted a family, maybe not, but it wasn't a NO for sure.
"The lake is frozen, we can't swim. I won't love it at all," she answered bluntly.

"What if you had a family with me?," He was hesitant on the question, but asked anyway.
"Our crazy children would love you. You know, you shred yourself up more than need be, you're not as cruel as you think you are. Angel you may seem that way, but all you've been to me is sweet," Erebus' tone was soothing and had an alluring accent to it. He tried to be charming, but serious at the same time. He really meant what he said.
Sighing, he decided to drop the topic for the time being and instead tried to enjoy the day with her, "Exactly! It's frozen! We can ice skate, the trick is not to fall on your bum," he bounded in between two bushes and landed on ice. His claws made marks as he skidded across and came to a slowing stop.
"It's fun!"

Sara said nothing for a time and thought over his words. A family with him. It sounded all right. Actually in her heart it felt right, but she didn't give the slightest hint she had just had an epiphany of a sort. "Yeah, our crazy young ones would," she smiled and strode up to his side to nuzzle his cheek, "They'd love you as well."
She just smiled sweetly and walked along. Sara actually found the snow to be beautiful in a way. He showed her many things, and appreciating things in life was one; for which she was grateful to him. Maybe having him around forever wouldn't be so bad after all, but she wanted to make sure that he absolutely wouldn't mind being hers until he died.

Sara bounded after him and found herself sliding across ice. She almost slid into him, but swerved to the left to avoid crashing and found herself giggling with joy. "I hate to admit it, but you were right!" she called to him. It wasn't long before she was skating like a pro across the mirroring ice. Sara went in circles around him and dared him with her eyes to "catch-me-if-you-can", before taking off around the lake.

"Oh now you've done it," Erebus grinned and swiftly slid across the ice. The cold wind whipped at his body, stirring up the red flames that surrounded his feet and the tiny bit on his tail. He knew she could see him clearly, but to everyone else, he was nothing more than a black blur across such blue, frosty ice.
Erebus looked to his right and noticed a bright green, winged lioness playing with her son and smiled at the sight. They looked so happy together. Again the thought, the wish of having his own family tugged at his heart.

Turning his attention back to his Fallen, he noticed she was coming head on toward him. He tried to stop, but only succeeded in slowing down and being knocked to the ground by her.
