Louisa was a normal girl in fact she was a normal boring girl who tended to keep very much to herself. For example today she had decided to go do some more photography, normally she would take the dogs with her but as she planned on taking photos of buildings she had left the two dogs at home. She hadn't planned on bumping in to anyone and so she had kept mostly to back alleys, taking photos of the older buildings.

Buildings however are only interesting for so long and she was getting bored. She didn't really want to head back in to town but the sudden rumble from her stomach changed her mind for her. She needed something to eat and town was closer then her house. She kept her camera around her neck as she headed towards the cafe that she seemed to live in when not at home or school. She had met Eve here, a nice girl from Crystal but then she had also met that other crystal girl and she hadn't been so nice.

She went in and got a bottle of coke and a bun which she took outside and sat on the curb of the path eating. She didn't feel like being inside today. It was a nice day.

November, soon after the Team Alpha -- they seriously needed a better name. Everyone seemed to resist Charys' ideas of names. She kept on emailing them around, but nobody seemed to appreciate how badass 'Team Snakebite' was. Especially not Astraea, who (worse still) was riding around in her bag now: the only thing that saved the day was the fact that she was walking next to Rea Marshall, who had dutifully gone and seen a movie with her. Rea had demonstrated a lot of good movie-going habits: she didn't mind when Charys crunched popcorn seeds in her teeth, she didn't mind whenever Charys pointed something out on the screen, she did not mind when Charys laughed at things that pointedly were not funny.

So it should have been a good day.

Then they both saw the youma.

The youma of the city were getting bolder; this particular monster looked as though it were constructed solely out of sticks, and it had stolen a -- was that a toddler? A woman was screaming. Other people were screaming. A girl on the sidewalk eating her lunch was looking startled. Situation normal: all ******** up.

"I can't fight," said Charys. "I'm full of popcorn, you can't fight when you're full of popcorn. It gives you a syndrome. The butter they coat that stuff with is pure liquid smoke and nicotine."

"CHARYS."

"It should have a lung cancer warning on it," the bluenette continued doggedly to Rea.

Things were actually looking up, for once. During the entire time that Rea had been a senshi, things had never been as 'active' with the negaverse as they had been recently. Youma seemed to be popping up around Destiny City like ugly, mutated weeds, ten times more annoying and ten thousand times harder to kill. It seemed like every time she went out, no matter what for, there was always some disaster waiting for them, sitting there going "Oh look, there's Sailor Suchandsuch, trying to have a good time and live a relatively normal life, lets do something to screw it up."

To be fair, it wasn't every single time she went out, just the majority of times the Crystal girl tried to enjoy herself, the negaverse always went and botched it. And to be doubly fair, it was usually only when she was with Charys. Today, however, things had been going fairly normally. They had gone to see a movie, (she had been surprised at the offer, despite the many times she had gone 'out' with the bluenette,) and had had a relatively good time. In fact, she had had more than a relatively good time -- she had really enjoyed herself. Her companion had made what would have probably been a dull movie into a lively one, cracking jokes and laughing... although the other movie-goers probably didn't appreciate it, Rea had found that, for once, she had enjoyed listening to the quasi-whispers from the girl next to her.

So it was with a heart lighter than normal that the strawberry blonde girl walked next to 'date' and 'cat,' chatting idly as they headed down the street. It was also a greater disappointment when they noticed the youma wreaking havoc.

Well. That was the end of that good mood.

"They really should," she replied agreeably, still clinging to the remnants of the day. And it had been going so well too. Reaching out to touch her wrist, she ducked into an alley, preparing to henshin up. "C'mon."

Louisa was really enjoying just sitting outside eating and having a really normal average day when the thing came out of no where and stole a toddler. Louisa wasn't sure what to do, she couldn't move because she was so scared that if she did the thing would notice her and eat her. Oh it was ugly. She couldn't help but very very slowly move one hand towards her bag where her camera was, she would need to turn the flash off to avoid attention but a photo like this she could sell to a paper and get some money for, she couldn't resist that even if she would rather run and hide somewhere.

She managed to get her camera out and take a photo though whether the photo would be any good was another matter, she was shaking like crazy but she didn't dare move until the thing started moving again then she got up and backed up against the cafe. The people inside seemed to be holding the door shut so she couldn't get in, well it was probably to stop the thing getting in but Louisa doubted that it cared much about doors. In fact now it seemed that the news had been telling the truth she wasn't sure she would even survive to tell anyone it was true.

How stupid of her to take a photo she should have ran then she would be in the cafe and not backed up against it.

"Please don't notice me, please please please." It was a silent prayer that she mouthed, her eyes tightly shut. She really didn't want to die at the mercy of that thing, really she would rather drown or something but this, no. Then again it would be an interesting way to die. No she wanted to live, so she prayed, though who she was praying to she had no idea. She just wanted to survive.

Charys let out a long, involved bawwwwwwwwww, setting her bag down beside a trash can -- Astraea leapt out and ran off without either of them noticing, as the bluenette cracked her fingers and rolled her shoulders back. "I am going to throw up popcorn on this youma," she said. "Seriously. Popcorn barf -- hey, Marshall, do I get a kiss for luck?"

She puckered her mouth and leant out to Rea, but probably the talk of popcorn barf had not aroused her date to the point where she wanted to kiss her. If it aroused anything in her, it was not the kissing mood. "Wait, I should probably eat some tic-tacs first," she said, but noticed her date's expression -- "okay, okay, tic-tacs later. You talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes. Dinotherms ready, let's go."

If a lot of light suddenly came from the alleyway, everybody was too focused on the youma to notice. When two sailor-suited (if not sailor-skirted) soldiers emerged, running out as the toddler kept screaming -- its mother was running full bore at the youma -- Nerissa held up her arm, even as the toddler's mother kept screaming and trying to push past. "Ma'am, let us," Nerissa told the sobbing, panicking woman, which was probably the most chivalrous thing she'd ever said.

Then she ruined it: "Hey, youma, come on! That toddler's like, half a star seed!"

This was a terrible challenge.

For Louisa, in the depths of prayer and photography, she had something else to contend with: a cat suddenly tugging on her pants leg, a pretty silver cat with a silver star on its forehead. "Are you really taking a photo of all this?" it demanded in the mayhem.

"You get a kiss if you survive," came Rea's response, looking like she was seriously trying to hold back a smile. Charys was the only girl she knew who could talk about popcorn barf in one sentence then kissing in the next. It was rather endearing. Giving a slow nod of approval at the 'work now, play later' approach, she reached to grab her pen from her pocket, ready to do the 'senshi thing.'

The two exited the alley in a perfect display of 'superhero etiquette,' and from the moment they did it seemed they were swept into the limelight, Nerissa moving to block the mother from trying to get to her baby. For a moment Sailor Pegasus just stared, a little surprised by the chivalric speech that had come from none other than Sailor Nerissa, and she actually swooned a bit, her little teenage heart fluttering a bit. For that moment, Pegasus forgot that Nerissa was even on her team -- standing there, body positioned in front of the woman, she looked so... competant. Like things were under control, and it was no more difficult than rescuing a kitten from a tree.

Of course, the movie had ended an hour ago -- back to reality. A soon as the 'challenge' was made, the golden light which had surrounded Nerissa seemed to fade, Pegasus' expression turning to one of exasperated amusement.

Oh Charys. So charismatic.

"You have such a way with words," She half murmured, standing a little behind and to the left of the bluenette. Then, with a regained sense of seriousness, "What do you want to do? I don't want it to drop the baby..." She could have made a joke about catching and pitching but that just really wasn't her at the moment. Charys hadn't corrupted her that much. Not yet, anyway.

Louisa opened her eyes when she heard someone talk to her and as she saw no one around but a cat she looked somewhat confused. She did however see the senshi and took another photo. Oh this was good, so so good! She smiled before crouching down to pet the cat.

"Hey you, it's really not safe for a kitty around here." If she had known it was the cat that had spoken she would have probably decided she was in heaven and the thing had killed her already. Luckily for now she was more in awe watching the senshi, they really were something and they didn't look like they were doing anything wrong. Had the news people got it wrong?

"Come on kitty, lets get away from here, I don't want to see you get hurt!" Louisa was a sucker for animals and so she went to pick up the cat. While the senshi were here it meant she could get away or at least find somewhere safer to hide to take some more photos.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 18, 2009 1:48 am

"Oh, well, at least somebody doesn't," said the cat that Louisa was cuddling in her arms. "At least somebody cares about the cat." This was just about enough to make her drop the cat again, but somehow she made to balance it in her arms. "Sailor Sirius, please stop playing cutesy with me and get into the battle."

This was a horrible thing to suddenly be told. Louisa had not previously ever answered to 'Sailor Sirius'. Louisa also didn't feel that dead, which meant she wasn't in heaven and was being spoken to by an angel cat. Angel cats didn't sound as irritated as Astraea did. Angel cats would have been nicer. Astraea said, "You're needed! So stop taking pictures!"

Pictures of Sailor Nerissa and Sailor Pegasus struggling. The stick-youma was grasping the baby in its arms. And cackling. The woman dropped to her knees, sobbing incoherently. "Stand back, ma'am," said Nerissa, still sounding as though she were competent and the Super Senshi that Rea knew she could be, and then -- "Let us ******** this up."

She was looking at Pegasus. "Okay," she said. "You blast it, I go for the baby. Don't aim at the baby. Cannot handle exploded baby. Ready, daydream believer? On the count of three. Three, two, one, holy s**t I'm going to regret this."

The senshi of whirlpools bolted.

Ugh. Pegasus' face scrunched a little in disgust at the cackling of the youma, her gloved fingers slowly curling into fists. She hated it when garbage spoke. No matter what kind, be it cocky men or banana peels, it always said 'kick me to the curb, I smell,' and that was exactly what that huffhawing youma was telling her now. They would be more than happy to oblige, she was sure.

She hadn't even realized Astraea was missing.

"I won't aim at the baby," she responded, more serious than she should have been when she said that, her retort just as serious, "Don't forget to catch the baby." The tease was there, but they had their game-faces on now. Joke about youma guts all you want, but with a baby involved, at least for Pegasus, it was on. She might be handicapped in the emotions area, but other people weren't, and you don't ******** with stuff like that.

'Ready, daydream believer?'

She didn't even have time to reply before the countdown had begun, Nerissa taking off towards the place the child was supposidly going to land. If she could get straw-man to drop it. If she could land an attack. Sucking in a deep breath, she kicked off the ground not a second later, dashing parallel to the monster for a few feet before skidding to a halt, turning towards it, her arms already crossed, that sphere of iridescence already forming, ready for the attack.

Louisa stared at the cat in her arms, then shook her head then looked down at the cat. Did it just speak?

"Erm... who is Sailor Sirius?" She was curious though part of her had now decided she really was crazy. Who had heard of talking cats? Especially ones that told you off for taking some photos which Louisa could possibly get a nice sum of money for from one newspaper or something.

She looked up at the scouts and wondered which one was Sailor Sirius. However the cat was talking to her....

"Wait... do you think I am Sailor Sirius? Sorry kitty, you might be special with all that talking but I am nothing special." After all hadn't she spent most of her life trying to be invisible?

"Too bad," said the cat. "Prepare to be especially unspecial." What did that even mean -- suddenly the cat was spitting out a PEN (was that resting in her esophagus????) in Louisa's arms. A green pen. A green-and-brown pen. A pen that was a little too thick to be a normal pen. "You're Sailor Sirius, senshi of canines -- I'm sorry in advance -- and if you could help out the senshi here instead of trying to take pictures of the entire ordeal..."

Sailor Nerissa had bolted forward to match Pegasus' attack -- it was a little quicker than her, and when it hit the stick youma it staggered backward. No, it didn't stagger; it got sheared directly in half. This didn't make it explode, though, the top half was propping itself up on its arms and looking disgusted. Nerissa had grabbed the toddler just before it fell back, shouted "Score!" and there was a yell from the -- crowd?

There was a crowd. There was also a police officer. The officer had her gun drawn, but she hadn't said anything, and wasn't yelling for them to freeze. She was watching Nerissa with the crying child in her arms -- and suddenly the youma barraged both Pegasus and Nerissa with sticks, which forced Nerissa down on the ground to shield the kid with her body. Sticks hurt when they were hurled with enough force, which they were being hurled with, and Pegasus had to duck for cover.

Now the police officer was shooting -- at the youma. The bullets hit the lower half and did not do a hell of a lot, other than chip it. The police officer got aimed in the barrage now, and rolled across the bonnet of the car to take her own shelter behind it.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 19, 2009 9:14 pm

The yell of 'score' was enough to make a flood of relief wash over the teal-skirted senshi, her eyes turning from the 'defeated' youma to Sailor Nerissa and the child. For once, things were actually turning out to be easy. No hitches, no mishaps, no screw-ups. You would have thought that a senshi who had been doing this as long as she had would have suspected something was up. But she didn't, whether because of relief or just the fact that Nerissa's speeches had lulled her into a false sense of security. Instead, she was staring at the police officer, gun drawn, wondering if she was really thinking of shooting them and trying to think of what she would do, should that happen. It wasn't until they had started getting bombarded with sticks that she realized the fight wasn't over.

So much for easy.

Lunging behind a nearby mailbox, Pegasus cursed, leaning back behind the blue metal, trying to block some of the projectiles with her hands. Not to far away, she could see Nerissa had used her body as a shield to protect the toddler, and she cursed again, looking for something, anything that might help them. She could use her attack just one more time before she'd be beyond useless -- she'd be a liability.

Ewww.

Louisa had seen animals be sick, in fact she was use to it but none of them had done that and for some reason it grossed her out somewhat more then normal animal sick did. She took the pen though and looked at it, oh it was so pretty!

"Erm... so if I am Sailor Sirius, what do I do because I am pretty sure if I walk over there I will get eaten." She did want to go and help, the policeman shooting at it didn't seem to be doing much help and the two scouts were erm... not in the best position. Maybe she was dreaming. Maybe she would go out there and fight and win and then wake up later to find it was all nothing more then a dream.

"Okay... tell me what to do and I will do it." After all if this was a dream she would wake up before she died right?
PostPosted: Sat Dec 26, 2009 2:09 am

"Say Sirius Power, Make-Up!" snapped the cat, obviously crotchety. At least she had the pen now. "You're not about to get eaten, that thing doesn't even have a large mouth -- oh, just go already! Attack it! Aid the others! And ask fewer questions!"

Louisa had just learned what many other senshi learned: that Astraea was sort of a b***h, and that unless you asked 'how do I attack' she wasn't about to answer you with any kind of specificity. With your head, maybe. Or your legs. It was up to the jury.

The youma was in-between barrages -- Nerissa stood up, heaving the child in her arms, and she was making a break for the line of stupid, gawking watchers and the mother -- unfortunately, the youma sprang to follow. A noisy "s**t!" could be heard from Nerissa's mouth.

There was little Pegasus could do from where she was crouched behind the mailbox, jerking back a few times as a stick came hurtling towards her, clipping her shoulders and legs, bruises already starting to form. She couldn't imagine how Nerissa was fairing, out in the open -- she must be covered in welts by now. Uncovering her head, blue-green eyes scanned the street, where the bluenette was starting to struggle to her feet, the child bouncing in her arms as she ran towards the crowd, basically at the mercy of the youma.

Christ.

This was it -- there would be no more after this. In fact, there was likely to be a lot of wooziness and perhaps a little fainting on her part. She didn't know the details of what happened, she'd only done it once. It had been an experience she hadn't wanted to repeat, to be honest, but there wasn't much that could be done in this circumstance. Nerissa had her hands full with the child. Maybe if she got the toddler to the parent, she'd be able to do her whirlpool.

This is why they made a team, dammit.

With not a moment's hesitation, the teal-skirted senshi bolted from her hiding spot, wincing as stray sticks pelted her sides, running perpendicular to Nerissa and her charge. She didn't have time to make it completely between them and the monster, but it was close enough -- Pegasus crossed her arms, gritting her teeth as she sphere sucked more energy from her.
