Even during cold weather, people continued to crowd the streets of the city. Luska's eyes frantically darted left and right, warily watching the people around her as she walked as close as possible to her current babysitter, Aaren. Normally, Luska wouldn't mind crowded cities since she was always with her guardian, Rein. But since the woman i still currently quarantined in her room, the child couldn't help but feel paranoid.

Not that being around Aaren wasn't any safer....Luska just felt more comfortable around her 'mommy' after all. The child had been whining about wanting to go home since the bakery had a rather slow day today. Not wanting to upset the girl any further, Aaren had packed away some freshly baked muffins and cookies to take home (which were currently being hugged protectively against Luska's chest) before closing up shop.

Looking to the side, Luska tilted her head as she spotted the fountain that stood erect in the middle of the plaza. "What's That?" She asks moves to pull the young woman over towards it.

"Ah, that's called a water fountain, Luska," Aaren explains, allowing the child to lead her over towards said structure.

"There's money in there..." Luska mutters staring at the coins that lay at the bottom.

"People like to drop money in the fountain for things like good luck." Not that Aaren particularly believed in stuff like that. But she'd rather not say anything that would make the girl feel bad. "Would you like to try? If you get your coin to land in a certain spot, like the statue's hand, you'll get extra lucky!" Perhaps turning this into some sort of game might put Luska's mind off of her sick guardian and make her somewhat cheerful again.

So there the two stood, trying to land their coin into the statue's palm. Luska hadn't realized it until now but...the child had very bad aim...and she was getting rather frustrated...

"I'm very bad at this!" Who ever said practice makes perfect?!

Fitzroy swung the two bags full of Christmas presents at his side, skipping next to his dad, who was carrying a similar load. A firm believer in getting the shopping done early, Caspian had closed down the shop for the day and taken his son shopping, allowing him a budget with which to use for his friends. Of course, the Liberality spawn had overspent, and had needed to ask for extra for food four times, but Caspian bore it with good humor. It was Christmastime, after all; gotta be generous and all that.

Blinking, he suddenly looked around; oh crap, he'd lost Fitzroy again. Even though he'd grown, his habit of rushing off after whatever caught his attention had persisted, and it was a few moments before he saw his son standing over by the water fountain, looking at a tailed girl excitedly. Sighing and smiling ruefully, he walked over slowly.

Fitzroy smiled and bounced at the girl, looking over her in excitement. He almost hadn't seen her neat ears or tail, but now that he had, he couldn't take his eyes off of them. Smiling in a friendly manner, he waved to the girl. "Hello there! I'm Fitzroy! I like your ears and tail and how they match and stuff! I don't have a tail, but even if I did, I don't think my tail would match it!" Grinning confidently, he looked at the coins this girl and her momma were tossing, and bounced in trepidation. "Ooh, what are you doin'? Is it a game? It looks fun!"

After watching the last coin sail over the statue's palm, the child sighed again. It was probably best to give up. She'd probably have to anyway since it seemed like Aaren was too busy digging into her pockets in hopes of finding more coins. Just as Luska was about to turn and leave, the jumped up out of surprise when a boy, who seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, happily greeted her.

For a moment, Luska stared dumbfounded and didn't know how to react. That was until the boy introduced himself and commented on her ears and tail. Shyly reaching up to touch her feather tipped ears, she gave Fitzroy a small smile. "H-hello, I'm Luska. B-but I like calling myself Lulu." She tilted her head, inspecting the others unique features and smiled, a little bit wider this time. "Lulu likes your wings. Looks very shiny." She looked over back momentarily and frowned at the lack of wings before turning back to Fitzroy. "Lulu doesn't have any nice looking wings like yours.."

At the mention of the coin toss, Luska's attention turned back towards the fountain again. "Trying to get Lulu's coin to land on the hand...Aaren says you can get very lucky if you do." She explains pointing at the statue. "But I'm very bad at this." The child pouts, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Luska just needs to keep practicing, that's all!" Aaren encouraged after finding whatever change was left in her pockets, which was only enough for several more tosses. The woman smiled towards Fitzroy and held out some coins towards him. "Would you like to try?"

Fitzroy smiled openly at Luska, unaware of how his over-friendly nature could have startled her. He'd always been this way with people, and it was unlikely to change soon. "Ooh, you have a really pretty name, Lulu! And it's fun to say, too!" he said with a giggle, wiggling excitedly. The Christmas season certainly had an effect on the Liberality spawn.

He grinned at the compliment to his wings, and spun around to give Lulu a better look at them, even wiggling them to the best of his ability. It wasn't often that his wings got the compliments; usually that was Pac-man, since he was in the front and stuff. "Thanks, they are! It makes up for them being no good for flying, don't you think?" He spun back around, not put off by Luska's envious comment, and shrugged. "No, but I don't have a cool tail like you. Or cool ears; my ears just look freaky," he said with a cheeky smile, said ears flapping in mild indignation.

Fitzroy smiled at the explanation of the game, and happily accepted the coins from the person he supposed was Luska's guardian. He glanced at the pouting girl, and patted her shoulder, flashing her an encouraging smile. "Yeah, you just have to practice! Watch, I bet I miss super-duper bad!" That said, he scrunched up his face in concentration, aiming his coin before flicking it clumsily. Just like he had predicted, the boy missed spectacularly, the coin hitting the eyebrow of the statue and ricocheting off in some direction, very nearly missing Caspian's head.

Stuffing his fists in his mouth to keep himself from giggling too much, he looked back at Luska. "See? I'm no good at it, neither! But that was still fun!" He plopped one of his coins into her hand. "You should try again!"
