I wanted to know what your opinions were on music. I've seen alot of threads talking about Christian bands, but I haven't actually seen one talking about whether Christians should listen only to Christian music or if it's okay to listen to secular too. I really only listen to Christian music and the reason is because God gave us ears, mouths, and voices to praise Him. I don't really feel comfortable listening to music were the lyrics talk about drugs, abuse, pointless bf/gf stuff and so on. I don't really think that we should be filling our minds with this junk. I think that we should keep our minds, ears, and mouths pure. What are your thoughts/opinions??

What are your thoughts/opinions?? hm, i listen to both Christian and Secular, my PC mainly has Christian music on it, but i also like a bit of Brum$Bass, and Queen, also it is extremely hard to find Vynal Records over here at all, let alone Christin ones, so i am quite limited on what i can play on my decks(hence name of DJ) so yah, i listen to both, but when i feel depressed, the only thing i listen to is Christian cos it reminds me that God is always there for me and he loves me!

Pretty much all I listen to is Christian music... but I do like a few secular bands and songs... I won't listen to anything with lyrics that are bad or against Christian morals, though. Here, I'll list the secular things I like:
-a bit of country music (a lot of which actually IS Christian music sweatdrop )
-a couple pop songs:
-"Unwell" by Matchbox 20
-"Beautiful Day" by...whoever it's by sweatdrop
-uhm... those are my favorites...but there are a few others I like...
-a band called Hiroshima (very relaxing... jazz music, I think? I bit electronic-ish, too, though...)
-orchestral nature music type stuff
-themes in anime, movies, video games...ya' know, that type of stuff...
Sooo, yeah... most of the secular music I listen to is either borderline Christian, instrumental stuff, or stuff that's not "Christian", but has Christian morals to it...

I love Christian music, but I also listen to others. Relient K is a good example of a band that doesnt do all Christian related stuff, and I love them to death! Most music in general! heart

I listen to mostly christian but I don't feel that all secular music is bad. I am a channel changer. I never leave the radio on the same channel. I find songs that I like and listen to them. I listen to country, oldies, anything with a good beat. I dislike music where people cuss or talk about sex, drugs, or alcohol. It shouldn't be played. I appreciate being able to find music unrelated to these topics.

I practically always listen to Christian music. I occasionally listen to other CDs that my friends have, but never if it talks about anything against Christian morals or with curse words in it. When I'm on the computer I mostly listen to Japanese anime music, which is also good!
