It was a foggy morning. A very... very foggy morning. It was morning. And Lipi didn't know why she was up. The lazy lioness stretched out as she blinked gold eyes against what little sun there was; it was still to much for her tastes. She had found a pride of misfits and claimed it as her own. She made a spot for herself in it and everything. The only thing she didn't do, is really meet anyone. That thought rolled around in her muffled head for a moment, trying to get her body to work the way she wanted it too. Usually the lazy lioness wasn't up until the sun was high in the sky.
With the fog, there was a chill in the air, which made Lipi one happy lioness. She loved colder weather; she wished it was colder still. Finally rising to her paws, she stretched out her legs once more and was greeted with bones popping. Aaah. A wonderful feeling. Rubbing her side against a tree, she took off to go explore. What she saw of the pride wasn't much; they didn't really have anything together yet, but it was coming along. Why she cared was because she had to record all of this stupid stuff.

Unfortunately for Agen'theluji, the foggy weather was the one thing he didn't want right now--it was too chilly to be comfortably sleeping. Whatever happened to the sun? Ah, well, time to get up and snoop around--er, look around--for things that were happening. Ever since he was--quite literally--dragged into this new pride by his sister, Safura'miezi, he'd been put into a strange position of... well, being a spy. Then again, that suited him fine. He was good at gathering information and keeping it to himself, and well, if the king inquired about any specific information, he'd be able to part with a... well, specific amount. Of course, even his sister didn't know what he did...
Well, then again, she was the story teller, and if she spun tall tales or told true ones, it probably would be better for him to "joke" around about being a spy to his sister--she wouldn't believe him, since he was, well, laid-back and all. Haha. Grinning to himself, he wandered through the fog, not really expecting to run into anyone--save his sister, who was already gone. His sister's job was more strict compared to his: where Safura had to be at a certain time and place, he could wander around and mingle and just do whatever--all in the name of... gathering information. Whoohoo! Just the job for him! ...Sorta. Of course, when he spotted a pretty brown lioness walking about in this stupid fog, he considered his options.
Talk to her, call her over, ignore her, or... well, he couldn't exactly do all three. Might as well mingle and get to know the other pride members... after all, every lion or lioness had secrets he would so love to learn. "Excuse me," he called over to her, after realizing he'd just been sitting there on his bum contemplating. "Hey, missy. Yes, the pretty brown lioness with the amber eyes~ Over here, please," he continued in a friendly--albeit somewhat lazy--voice.

Missy? She blinked at that, turning golden eyes towards the voice, ears swiveling back against her head. That was not something she was used to hearing. Who else cold he be talking too, though? The lazy lioness sighed and moved through the fog to get a better look at who was calling her, paws barley making it off the ground.
Oh, it was this one. She'd seen him once or twice before, but she'd never gotten his name. He was hardly visible through all the fog that he seemed to blend with. Sitting down in front of him, she inspected him again and then shrugged. I couldn't hurt to be friendly, she supposed. It wasn't like she really had anything to lose. "It's Lipi, not missy. That just settles odd with me," she said, her tone equally lazy as his had been. Her ear flicked and she gave a huge yawn before stretching out her front legs.
"What position do you hold in this makeshift pride?"

Ah, hah, he knew her. The recorder in the pride. He gave her a lopsided smile. "Who, me? Why, isn't it already obvious?" Might as well dance around the topic. "Pleasure to meet you, then, Lipi who's not missy," he teased. "I'm Agen'theluji, at your service... sort of." She seemed fair laid-back, much like himself. How fun! "Well, who knows what position I hold, I tell you, I was dragged here, myself," he continued, not completely waiting for Lipi to reply. "Oh, you can call me Agen, y'know, since my name's long n' all," he added as an afterthought.
Despite the fog, the lioness stood out pretty well to him--well, much as he didn't like the fog, he blended in well enough, perfect for his position. Well, he'd have to report in at some point, he supposed. But for the time being, he was having a conversation with the recorder of the pride. Fun, fun. This meant she knew who he was and yet didn't... thus his position of Mpelekezi, hm... Well, she seemed certainly sharp enough... again, very similar to him, ahahahah. "So, what brings you around this area of our lovely little pride, Lipi?"

Her ears flattened at his speech and she sighed quietly. Ah, another laid back, lazy person like herself. It was her first time meeting someone of her own nature. She watched him, eyes narrowing as a frown slowly appeared on her muzzle. Lipi wasn't sure how she liked this other just yet. His speech was odd, not lazy like her own, and he seemed to be far too chipper for someone who was dragged here.
"Mn..." Is how she replied for a moment, trying to lift the fog in her head. "I've heard of you, Agen. You're the.. you're in the position of Mpelekezi for now." Yes, being the recorder meant she knew a lot about everyone in the pride. She just didn't have faces to names and positions yet. Hell, she barely had positions down in the pride. Her tail thumped against the ground as she watched him over and then grinned a bit. "You... might have been dragged here, but are an asset to the pride, unlike myself. I'm easily replaced, Mpelekezi are not." That was what she was taught and told, so that is what she quoted.
The brown female sighed again, watching the fog swirl around them, as if created their own little world of lazy talk and maybe some banter. "You're stocky." Look who's talking. Lipi was the size of an adolescent but was a lot heavier looking; giving her a stocky look. When in reality, she was a very lean lioness who didn't take any pride in her appearance. Thus, why she was dirty, covered in dust and bits of mud on her paws.

He yawned then, though he kept one eye open to eye the dainty brown lioness in front of him. Yes, dainty, compared to him and his sister. Of course, he was all muscles and hardly any fat, considering where he and Safura'miezi used to live before officially joining a pride. He wondered what had prodded his sister into joining this pride to begin with... Anyway... wow, this recorder lioness sure was sharp. Maybe she knew more than he expected, ah, well. "Mn... that all you can say?" he joked, flopping down into a lazy position... sort of. "Yes, Mpelekezi or whatever... you really believe that?" he asked, sounding like he thought she was kidding.
As if she would believe someone like him was an Mpelekezi. Sheesh, that position had its scary points! Too close. "Don't be like that, now, Lipi. I'm hardly an asset to the pride, you know. Just around and about, everywhere, here and there... stuff like that," he waved off her comment, pretending she was being silly. "And we're hardly replaceable as you've said, you know. Why, if you gave up your position--what is your position?--I'm sure you could join the warrior ranks or something." Yes, this pride had a place for everyone, no matter what. Even if he were to slog through everything... maybe. Ah, oh well. "Look, a pretty lioness like you wouldn't hardly be replaceable, ok?"

She snorted. Pretty was not a word she heard often, and to be in a warrior ranks? She was far to lazy for that kind of training. "I'm the record keeper, if you have to know," she said with no air about her. Just her lazy, almost slurred speech. "Hardly a warrior type. Too small, do not weigh enough. I'm quite content with sleeping rather than training." A nod confirmed her little speech she had there. Stretching herself out once again, she winced. Ah, hurting muscles were so stupid. Why couldn't they just listen to her for once?
"Either way, Agen, what are you doing just wandering around here? Shouldn't you be learning your position and duties?" She already had hers down. Honestly, she really didn't care if he knew his duties or not. It wasn't her place to even suggest he learned them. Still, it was conversation. In a way. "Whatever, never mind about that. Do you not have a sister? I think I remember that.." She'd heard it somewhere, from other pride members. Agen, this big, pale lion before her was a mystery that was slowly unraveling. Maybe he could finish it for her.

"Know too much, think more," he commented in a rather dull way. "Record keeper, hm..." So he was right, after all. She was, indeed, the record keeper. He pondered that, noted it, and shoved it to the back of his head. He'd find her weakness yet. He was supposed to find weaknesses, after all. "Any of us can be a warrior, don'tcha know," he chuckled, eyeing her carefully as she stretched. "We all had to survive at some point. Learning to hunt, and all that." If there was one thing he refused to say, it was talking about his past. If she was going to try and get him to open up, that wouldn't happen. Not even his sister knew his past, aside from their own shared past.
"Oh, I wander about. I like to wander--you ought to know that, yes? Recorder," he grinned, using her title was fun. "My position and duties? Nah, I'm too lazy for that. Why should I learn it? I don't even know my own position, you see~ I mean, for someone like me... I'm just some random wanderer, you know." Conversation, conversation. He didn't mind idle chatter, after all. All he was doing was moving his mouth, really. "I do indeed have a sister. I thought you knew her, seeing as your duties are similar to hers. She's the storyteller." Ah, yes, his sister the storyteller. She weaved some amazing tales, she did. Most of them were true, some were made up... but because his sister was the kind to never stay in one place, she knew a lot and met many.
...Not to mention her adopted family. Whoo, was his sister a quick one. Unlike him, she liked to run about, move around... she never was one to sit still, after all. "Indeed, Lipi, you're right in your memory, I certainly have a sister. And your pretty self? Do you have siblings?" Or weaknesses? He had to go about checking and finding weaknesses... ah, he was already tired of this job, but if he didn't do it, his sister's words would haunt him. "Agen'theluji, if you don't do what you need to do Mother and Father will haunt you longer than I will!" His sister could be quite frightening at times, that was very certain. And to think, she was younger than him.

Empty, pretty words were just that. Empty and pretty. He didn't need to keep calling her pretty names and things, but it seemed like it was something he did. And Lipi was far to lazy to change it. She listened to him almost ramble and then shrugged her shoulders. So he was a wanderer, as she was before she stumbled upon this pride by accident. Their backgrounds were similar, only she had no siblings to speak of. Not that she knew, anyway. The lioness hardly remembered her own parents. It was a while ago that she left her den and everything for the life she wanted.
A little smile lite up her face as she remembered her first days of wandering; they had been scary and fun. Not knowing where she was going, trying to figure everything out. Now it was second nature to her. She didn't care where she ended up or who she ran into. Lipi believed that if you met someone, you were supposed too. Not fate or destiny. She didn't like to put a label on things like that. It was kind of like Karma, only different.
She was lost in her own memories until his question. Blinking and clearing her head again, she looked upon him with narrowed, curious eyes. "No. I'm an only child, I think. I don't remember, nor do I care, if I have siblings. I've been on my own for some time now," she said with a lazy, but slightly frosted, tone. No, she didn't take offense to his question, she just had a feeling she knew what he was doing. She wouldn't give away weaknesses or personal information like that right now. Well, she just did, but it wasn't like that was too personal.

Feisty, he decided. "Eh... sorry, Lipi. Don't take it too hard," he commented, withdrawing. Right. Recorder. Probably far more complex and also much more difficult to discern. In that case, it was better he forget his job and worry about something different. Making a friend in the pride wouldn't be a problem... he hoped. With all these different statuses and classes and whatnot, it was better he had the job description he had. Seriously. Safura'miezi was awful lucky herself. "All right, then, Lipi," he started, shifting ever so slightly, practically blending in with the mist and fog surrounding the two.
"By yourself? That's sad. I've been on my own too... well, apart from discovering a long-lost sister, so to speak. Still on my own, though," he agreed. She was a cold character, one who held secrets far too well. Even her own memories. Well, his assessing her character wasn't helping him, either. Despite her warm colored coat, she was definitely one who would bite back if bitten. Heh. She seemed amusing, actually. "Too bad you seem to carry that burden. Carrying another now?" He, of course, was referring to the pride they both seemed to have discovered--though, in his case, he was dragged her--and so... Agen'theluji actually was uncomfortable with the idea of a pride, but if it kept his sister happy, that was fine, too.
This stupid job. He didn't want to do it... well, then again, it fit his character, too. Sort of. He was too lazy. Probably. "Well, Recorder, since you're here to put me down... well, I suppose if you kept it secret and only the Royals know about it... well, that's fine. I'm sure you already know." After all, Lipi was the Record Keeper. She already had to know a lot of everything about everything. Right? Agen'theluji himself didn't need that--he just need names and faces... and weaknesses.

By herself for years now, and honestly, Lipi was beginning to think she preferred it that way. No one to tell her what to do, when to do it, how to do it. The only reason she was part of a pride was because she was tired of wandering. That's the only reason she settled down into the first pride she wandered into. She couldn't care less about the beliefs or rituals that go along with this pride, but the atmosphere was nice. Those yellow eyes looked at the pale male and she snorted.
"I carry all sorts of burdens, with memorizing the past of each member of this rag-tag pride." Her voice sounded so uninterested. She honestly didn't care about the other members, but it was her job, and she did want to stay in the pride and away from the others. Sure, Lipi would work with the other members to get histories and names of family members, but it wasn't like she had to be around them all the time. Her work was lonely, that she knew.

Sharp... very sharp. Hm. Her aloof demeanor was interesting unto itself, but, like her, he didn't care much for it--as long as he had names and faces and their weaknesses, he could honestly care less. Of course, he still had to tread lightly. There were still the killers in the pride, and they were the ones best avoided, moreso than the other two spies. "All right, then," he heaved a great sigh of laziness, nearly flopping onto the ground as he did so. "What is it you would like to know, Lipi the Recorder?"
Though he spoke with a friendly, smiling expression, Agen was far from feeling warm with the lioness. He was still tense under this misty morning, only glad his fur blended in so well just now. "Rag-tag pride... I suppose we could call our pride that... a rag-tag group. Well, I'd say it's still... somewhat organized...?" Making conversation came easily enough, though sometimes he felt even too lazy to talk. Still, Lipi seemed a good companion, too. Perhaps he'd look into that a bit more sometime later.

"I want to know why you and your sister came to this pride. I believe I heard her mention something about dragging you here. What's making you stay. Why do you put up with someone if they're bossing you around like this?" Really, Lipi hadn't spoken to Agen's sister, but he'd heard her talking around the pride before this meeting. All this talking was making her tired again. Lipi needed a nap, and it was written on her face that she was struggling with keeping the conversation going or just going to sleep.
Since her companion had taken to the ground, so did she. She laid down, front paws crossed over each other as she waited for his answer. She didn't comment on the pride. The golden eyed lioness had her own views on it, and he had his. No sense in trying to change someone's way of thinking; that was just stupid. And really, she didn't care if he was comfortable with her or not. Lipi didn't care if he ever warmed up to her or not. She wasn't here to make friends; she was here to record births, deaths, the pride's history, why members joined, why they left. In a way, she was making it easier on their king. But whatever; she didn't want to please anyone but herself and her natural curiosity.

He chuckled at the questions she immediately tagged him with. Of course, Safura was the storyteller in their pride, so if Lipi honestly wanted to know anything of history, she was better off asking his sister. In any case, though, he had given in to her inquiries, since it was her job to record every member's personal history for the king's private knowledge. Agen figured Lipi wouldn't say anything much about any of the members' histories, so he was fine with talking about his.
"Hm..." he ho'd and he hum'd a bit, obviously trying to decide how or where to start, making a great show of deep thought, though he had no need. He was partially trying to push Lipi's buttons, since she looked tired, but he eventually began. "Well, Lipi, the reason my sister came to this pride was to fill a sense of loneliness, I suppose, and of course, since I am her brother, she dragged me here. You can say we're somewhat twins of a sort, but not quite." He gave a low chuckle, obviously thinking of fond memories.
"The reason for my staying has a lot to do with my personal weaknesses, of course," he continued smoothly. "I'm also staying for my sister, and I don't 'put up' with it, since my sister is far from bossy. She's just overly concerned, you see," he finished, answering her questions in the order as necessary. Really, he was getting rather tired too--and it was so early in the morning! Well, no matter, things would move on eventually, and whether he ran into Lipi again, it could just be fate, he surmised.

Personal weakness. Pah. She shook her head nd looked away from him. She didn't need anymore information from him. So, without a word, she got to her paws and stretched out. Gods above, she was tired again. Talking took a lot out of the silent recorder. Looking to Agen after she repeated what she said mentally, she yawned widely and sighed. "Alright then. That's all the information on you I needed. I'll talk to your sister later. Perhaps tomorrow.." It was said absently, her tone getting even lazier. The mists had completely soaked through her fur by now, but that was fine. Why should she worry over her looks? It wasn't like she was trying for a mate or anything.
With that as a goodbye, Lipi turned around and headed back the way she'd came. If he wanted follow her, he'd have a hard time unless he used his nose. Then again, Lipi got the feeling he wouldn't follow her. He looked as tired as she did, and sounded even more so.
