This is my office for you guys to come and ask me for anything you might need while you're here. The set up is pretty simple. A nice oak desk in the center of the room for me to do my paperwork as well as a couple of chairs for guests. If you guys have any questions you need to ask then this is the place to find me.

Ichiran walked into the captains office of squad 8, thinking this was where he should be since he was just transfered here. Looking around, Ichiran saw no one, so he sat down in one of the chairs and reached into his jacket, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.I hope the captain doesn't mind. Ichiran thought, looking around the room to make sure that no one was in here. He saw no one, but decided that it was a bad idea to smoke in the captains office, so he took the cigarette out of his mouth, blew one last puff of smoke and put it out, waiting for the captain to either come into the office or reveal himself if he was hiding.

Growing impatient, Ichiran got up and left the captains office, heading for the training grounds.

(( BWAHAHAHA. ))

:Since the door had been left ajar by the last occupant, a chilling breeze swept into the room, wrapping itself around the furniture, almost as if it was alive and sensing around for another presence. Before the cold retracted, a woman silently stepped into the room, casting a quick glance about her.

Her feet were padded with soft, warm brown suede boots that came up to her knees. Tucked into the boots was a pair of dark blue skinny jeans, hugging tight to the woman's well toned legs and thighs. A cloth belt looped around her waist and from it hung a sleek ebony black sheath. Though it emitted a muted sense, it was obvious that the chill originated from the sheath, and had the woman grabbed the silver hilt and drawn her katana, the cold could have become all but bearable. The woman's top was pure white with a flowing bottom, and it was clear that she wore a form fitting white cami underneath, accentuating her thin figure. Around her neck dangled a simple chain, elegant in its own right. Her now short hair was not tied up and hung loosely around her shoulders, stylish bangs framing her face instead of covering her eyes for once. If anything, it was a completely new look for her since no one had recognized her as she entered the Sereitei.

Settling lazily onto a leather couch, she threw her legs on top of an ottoman, allowing her to slouch down lowly. It was the exact opposite of the prim, uptight image that she had left the Sereitei with, and there was no suggestion as to what could have brought about the change. Hopefully someone would come by soon though. She was interested to see if the people who mattered still recognized her, even if she had no story to give them. She could not even think of a story for herself to explain the vast change.

Giving off a large sigh, she turned to the side slightly, curling into a corner of the couch so that she could stare morosely out the window. With each soft tick of the watch on her hands, she counted up the minutes until her reappearance would be made known to at least one soul.:

Making his way back from a training session with one of his new recruits, Tansen let out a small groan of disdain as he made his way back to the mountain of paperwork that he knew awaited him at his office. Seeing as there wasn't anything the young Captain could about the paperwork however, he simply lit himself a cigarette and kept on walking, silently cursing the stacks of paper that demanded his approval as he let out small puffs of smoke from his lips.

"I bet that nobody even reads the stupid things... huh?"

Coming to a sudden halt, Tansen could feel his heart beating faster as he sensed something coming from his office. A presense that he hadn't felt in a long time, and never expected to feel again. Could it be...? No, it was impossible. That person had dissapeared a long time ago, leaving no traces behind as to their whereabouts. The thought they could even be alive, let alone in his office was unthinkable, and yet... there was no denying the familliar reiatsu coming from down the hall.

"..."

Regaining his composure, Tansen slowly began walking again down the hall towards his office, but not before cloaking his reatsu and placing his right hand on the hilt of his zanpakutou. Even if there wasn't any mistaking the familliar presense coming from his office, he couldn't rule out the possibility of a trap. Finally at the door, Tansen swiftly stepped inside and nearly dropped the cigarette in his mouth as he stared blankly at the woman on his couch, struggling to come up with something to say.

"...hi."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 26, 2010 10:33 pm

:With her back to the door so that she could look out the window, the woman had not been paying attention to what was going on in the hallway. As soon as the greeting reached her ears, she whirled around, her spine stiffening and her legs dropping quickly to the ground as she struggled to put on a professional composure. Being caught off guard, she inadvertently let off a blast of reiatsu, causing frost to crackle straight up the window panes and emanate from her feet towards the man. Oddly enough, the air around the man remained unaffected, and the frost seemed unable to penetrate the ground in a wide radius from him. The last factor assured her that she had not made a mistake, and the person was exactly who she had been hoping it was.

The man who framed the doorway was no different than she had remembered. With the captain's haori draped about his shoulder, he had the same weary look he had gained ever since he first adorned it, and inside, she was tempted to laugh. The cigarette that was clipped limply between his fingers and the smell of smoke that wafted towards her quickly turned her lips into a scowl of displeasure though, and she swiftly swirled the cold air about her to disperse of the disgusting scent.

There was an awkward stance to the man, as if he had no clue what to make of her, and she sighed inwardly, having expected such a reaction. What surprised her even less was the tense way in which he gripped his zanpaku~to, awaiting an attack at any moment. Of all the reactions, she had probably been expecting a defensive one the most - there was no chance that he could have ever expected her to reappear.

Though the tone with which he had greeted her was ambiguous and suggested uncertainty, the woman relaxed, slumping back into the chair and kicking her legs back up.

"Hey to you to...," she said tiredly. "Captain Tansen of eighth." The last part came out quietly but certainly, as if recalling a heavy burden.:

As the chilly breeze swept through his office, Tansen no longer held any doubts as to the identity of the woman before him. Her appearance had changed slightly, and so had her mannerisms apparently as he watched her make herself comfortable, but it was definetely her. Suri was back. Noticing how she didn't seem to care for the smell of the cigarette he was smoking, Tansen hastily put it out and flicked it into the grabage can next to his desk with ease before turning to her, his emerald green eyes looking her up and down before he spoke.

"You look well, Suri. It's good to see you again. Coffee? Tea? An explanation perhaps? I was worried about you, you know."

Shaking his head, Tansen turned away from his old squadmate and stepped into the other room of his office. After turning on the lights, he quickly began filling a kettle with water and placed it on the stove to have tea. That being done, the Captain made his way back into the other room and sat down on one of the chairs, facing Suri. Again, he struggled to find the right words to say, unreasonably nervous. His desk was littered with empty cups of instant ramen and stacks of paperwork. The floor needed to be swept as well. It would have been nice if he had known about her return beforehand, as it was downright embarrassing to have her in his office when it was in such a poor state.

"Does anybody else know that you're back? I don't recall hearing any news of your return."

:Suri kept her silver eyes trained on Captain Tansen as he crossed his room, evaluating each step as if she had never seen him before. As far as she could physically perceive though, there was not much different with him. Each step was awkward, as if he was unsure of the stability of the ground beneath his feet, but that did not keep him from playing the gracious host. When the cigarette landed in the trashcan, the swirling around Suri's head halted and her hair dropped back down into place, the tips brushing her collarbones.

"Must you really ask?" Suri's gaze met Captain Tansen's emerald eyes equally, as if she was trying to search his innermost thoughts. "My preference will always remain tea. I am not a different person by much. That being said, you do not need to worry unnecessarily. Obviously I am still in one piece."

She paused as Captain Tansen disappeared into the next room, not wanting to continue the conversation if she could not see him. Before he reemerged, she heard the low humming of a kettle and realized that the ice plastered all over the room would probably keep it from every boiling. Breathing deeply, Suri pulled all the reiatsu back into her, allowing it to coarse, freezing cold, through her veins and reintegrate with her normal pool of spiritual pressure. It was odd, but she felt as if she was more in sync with her reiatsu than ever before, as if she had dug deeper into a well to find that there was sweeter, clearer water to be found. The sensitivity with which her reiatsu responded to her natural reactions had recently been demonstrated in a manner that surprised even her. Unfortunately though, she could not fathom how such a synchronization had come about.

When Captain Tansen returned, choosing to settle into a regular armchair rather than behind his desk, Suri raised one eyebrow quizzically, inquiring as to why he chose not to retain his formal and professional position behind the desk.

"You seem very lax," Suri commented aloud. "I am not sure that dropping your guard and demeanor as such is the wisest idea. Although, all things considered, with your abilities you could probably negate any attack I throw at you regardless." Giving a slight shrug to try and transition the conversation, Suri stared at the tips of her boots for a while, contemplating how to answer his question. "No, no one else knows I am back - they should not at least. I do not even know why I returned." Frustrated, Suri ran her fingers through her hair, pulling it away from her face. "In fact, I cannot recall what I have done in the time that I was gone. Somewhere down the line a change happened. I know I have not gained any abilities - my kido spells remain the same, and I certainly do not have bankai. For some reason though, I feel at peace with my reiatsu - it lost the wild edge, but not it feels like a deep river, coursing strongly, deeply, but glass-smooth on the surface."

She shook her head, clearing her mind of the philosophical thoughts swiriling through. As the tips of her boots fully came into focus, Suri realized that she had spaced and regressed into her own world for a bit, and shifted her gaze back up to Tansen, giving him a light, apologetic smile that did not quite erase the tiredness in her face.

"How have you been? Is your squad working out for you?" Suri inquired. "Fill me in on the politics of the Sereitei. I seem to have lost track of how long I have been gone for.":

((enters randomly from a nearby plot hole...))

"Captain Tansen Tsurugi, SUIT UP! Tonight, I'm taking you out to get laid. We'll stop by a bar, maybe Squad 13's, maybe somewhere classier, and then we're totally going to rock the Sereitei, Bro-Shinigami style. Its going to be Legenda-"

Pausing at the door, Nicholas D. Tenukage, complete with a new haircut and for what must be the first time in his after-life, clean clothes stared in mute awe, hand falling from its position at his wrist, where he was readjusting a cufflink, in dramatic slow motion as he blinked from behind his square frames.

Opening his mouth to speak, he raised a finger, requesting silence as he tongue attempted to form syllables, before he dropped his finger, confusion evident on his face, as he looked at Tansen, then Suri and back to Tansen.

Realization dawned on his face.

"Dude, score!" He raised his hand up high, the limb begging the touch of another bro's palm striking it as he grinned. "I'm totally sorry for interrupting your little love session, but you must tap this"

Wiggling his fingers slightly, Nick's face broke out into understanding again, and the limb dropped.

"I've got it! I'll make it up to you sir, right here right now!"

Turning on the spot slightly, he placed his attention on to Suri, looking her up and down, in a manner to a predator sizing up a meal, before rolling his head around in a bizarre manner to eye Tansen.

"Dude, titration is a definite 5, hell even 4. Very very acidic. Don't worry, I got your back, Wing-Shinigami style."

Clearing his throat, Nicholas paused, unmoving like some kind of statue rooted to the ground, as though waiting for a cue that only he could picture within his head, before breaking out into song, pulling off a surprisingly deep and clear voice for such a loud and admittedly annoying character.

"I'll make love to you, like you want me to, and I'll hold you tight, baby all through the night..."

Winking at Suri, he gestured with a slight nod of his head towards Tansen, nodding slowly as he did so before mouthing an "OH YEAH"

"I'll make love to you when you want me to, and I won't let go till you tell me to..."

Pulling out a walkman from his breast pocket, Nicholas hit a switch, announcing to the world the exact same song which he was singing, starting off from where he ended, the song being sung shockingly enough by himself. Placing it down on a table, he walked over to Suri and said:

"Haaaaaave you met Tansen? You know, where I'm from, Captain Tsurugi here is known to the ladies by another name" A nod to Tansen. "They call him, le Captain Sexyfyne"

Yes, with a fake french accent.

"Anyway, this one time, my bro Tansen and I were stationed down on Earth, and well it didn't go so well."

As if timed, the music changed to a more tense song, sending shivers down Nick's spine.

"An orphanage...no a pound for puppies...no an orphanage that had recently received a donation of puppies from a downtown pound for the children within had caught fire, due to an attack by 5 Hollow...no 5 Arrancar! Anyway, these 15 Arrancar right, were going around devouring puppy and child souls, and we burst in, firing kidos left and right and destroying as many of the 25 Arrancars there as we could. However, the damage they dealt was too severe, and we were forced to evacuate the children. In that process, I was struck down by one of the Arrancars...and LOST MY ARM!"

A pause for dramatic effect as the music swelled to a crescendo.

"Don't worry, I got better...Anyway, we soon realized there was still a child trapped in there, and so brave...brave Tansen rushed back in, kidos blazing, sword flying, what was left of the 50 Arrancar who attacked flying everywhere...And he found the child, trapped underneath a portion of broken wall, craddling a puppy, if you would believe it." Here Nicholas had the audacity of looking proud.

"But, they were being drained by the leader of the 100 Arrancars, and thus Tansen engaged into the duel of his life!"

For the next 5 or so minutes, Nicholas recounted this epic battle, at one point using his very own shoes as props as spoke of this engagement. And in the background, the walkman blast away an awesome song, probably Requiem for a Dream or something similar.

"...and having lost part of his robe in this particular exchange of blows, he tore off his wounded sleeve and used it in conjunction with a mystical bag of jellybeans he had on him at the time, fusing them together with his alchemy powers to create a tactical nuclear bomb..."

"...Following the launching of this bomb, Tansen was capable of eradicating the 500 Arrancar, and leapt from the top floor of the orphanage as the building exploded behind him, landing squarely on all fours, placing the orphan and the puppy it held onto the ground before he removed the sunglasses he had forged from his own blood and the pocket knife he got last Christmas and polished them on his suit."

Nicholas nodded once more, eyes closed in thoughtfulness.

"Upon hearing this story, the legendary Liam Alexander Lopez" Nicholas sighed. "Phoned in and asked him if he could create a film based on this story. Production is in place AS WE SPEAK, with Johnny Depp as Tansen Tsurugi, Orlando Bloom as yours truly and Zac Effron as the leader of the 1000 Arrancar, who gets tragically stabbed in the face 500 times by Tsurugi."

"Sadly, this adventure cost Tansen and I the cost of our lungs. All the smoke from the fire and puppies you see, and we were told that normal oxygen would overload our precious organs. As such, we must continuously smoke." At this, Nicholas pulled out a pair of cigars and handed one to Tansen, lighting his and sighing with satisfaction as the nicotine hit his system. "In order to stay alive."

He puffed on the cigar a little longer before saying thoughtfully "Plus, it looks totally awesome. WHAT UP?"

((There Tansen, happy?)

:When the new shinigami burst into the room, Suri stiffened immediately, dropping her legs as her right hand landed on the hilt of her sword. She had enough problems to deal with as things stood, and knowing that Captain Tansen was already in front of her meant that whoever else came in was probably not anyone who she wanted to see.

Twisting around to find the source of the voice, Suri's eyes settled on a clean-cut shinigami, dressed as if he was ready to go out to a party. At first, she could not quite place who it was, but the voice rang familiar enough in her ears that after a while she made him out to be the Vice of Squad 3, Nicholas. He had been appointed before she left, so it was not a name too unfamiliar to her. However, that did not make it a name that she wanted to deal with at the moment.

Before Suri even had the time to react, he burst into his long tirade, hinting at her as if she was just a woman to prey on. The manner at which he went about his not-so-subtle hints grated at her a bit, but Suri kept her face impassive, not revealing the thoughts that churned on underneath. Instead, she let him finish, because she felt certain that if it came down to it, she could probably still react before things spiraled too quickly out of control. To her relief though, he did eventually end on a note that somehow tangentially tied everything back to the beginning.

"If you do not mind," Suri stated quietly, "I would not consider myself acidic, but I can burn. So freezing cold it burns."

Instantly her silver eyes glazed over and frost swept the room. Since her zanpaku~to was still sheathed, the frost was unable to form in circles around Captain Tansen and Lieutenant Nicholas. Still though, the blast of reiatsu that followed this one was far stronger than it had been earlier, since before she had been able to subconsciously recognize Captain Tansen. With a purposeful intent in mind, Suri blocked up the doorway with a thin sheet of ice that was infused with her reiatsu. If anyone tried to break through at the moment, they would need a lot of skill and a deep reservoir of power, because she was unwilling to allow the situation to spiral out of control.

"Even if you require smoke to breathe, I would say it is substantially more difficult with cold and wind," Suri commented off-offhandedly. "And if I am lucky...perhaps you will simply pass out first and not remember ever seeing me in this office...":

As he continued to speak with Suri, Tansen still couldn't shake off the feeling of unease he felt around his old comrade, and the million different ways that she could be an enemy in disguise. Years before, the old Tansen would have frowned upon doubting one of his friends, but years of fighting battle after battle had taken it's toll upon the young Captain, and had changed him into someone who prioritized his safety over good morals.

Her mannerisms are different than before, and she admitted herself that she doesn't have any memories of when she was missing... She didn't exactly take her time in asking me what the state of affairs are in the Sereitei either...Her reiatsu and abilities seem the same though, so why do I distrust her so much...?

Fortunately for Tansen, his upsetting thoughts were interrupted by a newcomer at the door. Unfortunately for him however, that newcomer just so happened to be Nicholas D.Tenukage, the Vice Captain of squad three and the most annoying person the squad eight Captain had ever met in his entire afterlife. Before Tansen could even open his mouth to ask the Lieutenant to leave, he had already gone off on one of his rants, this one being particularily humiliating for Tansen as it was not only centered around him, but also being told to Suri, who the Captain had always respected and tried to impress. The ridiculous story about saving orphans with puppies with magic beans and nuclear bombs was a blow to his pride unlike anything he had felt before, and never wanted to feel again.

Finally, when Nicholas had finally finished his story, the young Captain calmly took the offered cigar and was ready to give the Lieutenant a piece of his mind when a sudden chill went up his spine, and for good reason. The fact that Tansen wasn't the only one not impressed with Nicholas became very obvious as Suri unleashed her reiatsu, freezing the door and windows over to eliminate the places he could run before calmly threatening him. Not wanting to hand over the satisfaction of pummeling Nicholas over to Suri though, the young Captain calmly put a reassuring hand on her shoulder and shook his head before turning to Nicholas, a look of sheer evil and malice on his face as he drew his sword, a small grin etched on the Captains's lips as he released his zanpakuto and drew a small object from his robes.

"Transmute, Tsumari Renkin."[Ultimate Alchemy]

In an instant, a large number of chains erupted form the ground below Nicholas and coiled themselves tightly around the Lieutenant's midsection as the Captain's sword glew with an beautiful emerald green glow as he worked on his next transmutation. Probably to Nicholas' horror, an old classic style cannon was formed around his body, his head just barely poking out of the top as Tansen walked over to him and pointed a small object at the Lieutenant's face before clicking a button, activating it.

"...There. Now you won't remember a thing other than the pain. But just to make sure you leave us in peace, I'll send you off in style myself."

With those parting words to the poor victim, Tansen took the cigar that Nicholas had given him, lit it with a touch of reiatsu from his finger, and took a long drag before using it to light the fuse of the cannon, intent on sending the shinigami flying off into the horizon. Sheathing his sword, Tansen took a few steps back so as not to get caught in the blast and spoke up softly.

"Don't worry about my roof, Lieutenant, I'll bill you for it later. Have a nice trip."
PostPosted: Fri Feb 05, 2010 4:54 pm

"Whoa, is it just me or is it suddenly chilly..."

Blinking behind his specs, he lowered his glasses a fraction, only to be blinded temporarily by a flash of light from Tansen's direction and the sudden feeling of chains encircling his body.

"Kinky stuff, another reason why you shoul-"

Nicholas frowned, attempting to move his hand to his forehead, only to discover it was being held down. Chains? How did they get there?

Blinking as the smell of smoke hit his nose, he looked down to discover his dropped cigar burning nicely away at the carpet, before looking up to see what appeared to be Captain Tansen lighting a cigar.

"The ******** warning, he shot up, crashing through the roof and sending debris flying. Suddenly free of his chains, he let himself fly freely until he was away from the office, before coming to a crash miles away.

The young woman who walked through the grounds of one of the prestigious Gotei Thirteen was somewhat startled to hear the unmistakable sound of a canon going off. With all due haste, the pretty blonde disappeared from sight, the faint hiss that followed was the only indication of the shunpo that had allowed her to cross the distance that had seperated herself from the Captain's office.

Her feet touched down softly upon the ground before Tansen's office, her hand falling in the long rehearsed movement to the hilt of her zanpakuto where her slender fingers curled around the weapons wrapped handle. Cloaked in a dirty brown haori and a straw hat, Sonia stepped forward quickly as she cast off the soiled traveler's garments and revealed the simple garb of a shinigami.

The barrier that shielded the doorway was familiar, the reiatsu that threaded through it even more so; she would recognize that particular identity if she were blind and deaf. But seeing the cloud of smoke above the office and the barricade of ice, filled her with dread. On the other side of the threshold, the former lieutenant of Squad Eight could sense the elevated reiatsu signatures of the two people she cared for the most within the Seireitei.

Raising her left hand, Sonia's own reiatsu flowed into the open palm and pooled there; forming a brilliant cobalt sphere that pulsed in time with her heartbeat and mimiced waves as if the globe was a miniature ocean. "Sai" Sonia whispered under her breath, naming the spell that she had shaped as she slammed the kidou into the ice barrier and allowed her reiatsu to surge like a tidal wave and crash against the icy shield, her eye flaring brilliantly as her own spirit pressure flared.

A highly proficient kidou fighter and a lieutenant's font of strength removed the obstacle that barred her entry and Sonia flooded into the room with her hand upon the hilt of her zanpakuto and a blossom of blue flames licked at the open air from the plane of open left hand. Tansen would probably die of shock as the second woman who had been missing from his life burst into the room ready for battle.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 22, 2010 4:24 pm

Still puffing away on the admittably fine cigar that Nicholas had given him, Tansen let out a small sigh of relief as he watched the irritating lieutenant fly over the horizon and out of his hair. Just as he was about to turn back to Suri however, the door to his office went flying past his head, the icy obstical having been blasted by a kido spell. Turning to face the new threat with his hand already back on the hilt of Tsumari-Renkin, Tansen's jaw finally dropped, along with the cigar.

"..."

He couldn't do anything but stare. Stare at the friend and lieutenant that he thought for sure had been lost. She looked a little worse for ware, but it was definetely her. Sonia Asakawa was back. Somewhere in the back of his mind, the young captain couldn't help but silently ask himself what the odds could've been of both Suri and Sonia returning to see him on the same night after having dissapeared for so long.

"Honestly, does nobody knock anymo- Huh?"

The shock of having a second long lost friend visit him had apparently been a bit much for Tansen, as he realized while looking down that he had forgotten something very important: The cigar he had dropped that was currently setting fire to his Hakama. Crying out in pain, the captain immediately wipped off his captain's haori and smothered the flames that were creeping up his leg, cursing as he struggled to put them out.

"Dammit! Ow! Ouch! A little help please?!"

"Oh for the love of..." Sonia sighed in exasperation as she relaxed her battle stance and allowed her reiatsu to ebb back; the flames in her hand dieing away. Instead, the blond shinigami allowed her reiatsu to pulse, her eyes flashing with an azure radiance; causing dew to forme and hang motionless in the air before swarming towards Tansen and dousing him in cold water to extinguish the flames.

"Ask and ye shall receive, so am I interrupting something?" Sonia asked with a raised eyebrow as she looked over at the gaping doorway that she had caused and the gaping hole in the ceiling. "Did you keep up on the insurance payments that I set up, Tansen?" asked the young woman as she fixed a questioning stare upon the Captain.
