Liriel's existance had continued to spiral downward, farther and farther into a black abyss, her mind continuing to twist, her personality beginning to fracture and split, branching off. There was her cunning old self..pushed back into the recesses of her mind, while the sickeningly morbid and wrathful personality was beginning to flourish and surface, exposing itself fully to the world for the first time. She thought her rape and resulting pups had ruined her...but her alpha had assured her that was not the case, for what little his assurance meant to her now. The trauma had not broken her down, somehow it didn't reduce her to a simpering puddle of self-pity.

Instead, she had grown cold, disconnecting from her hopes and dreams and burying them under thick callouses of ice and anger. No male would ever rouse her interests again, she swore that to herself, and she vowed no male would ever touch her again. Secretly she doubted any would even try anymore. She was still a pretty thing to look at, she gave herself that, but it would be a rare male that wouldn't rather look from afar upon learning of her eager fangs and her new fiery temper.

So there she lay, just within her den in the shade. Numerous animal carcasses and bones littered the entrance and first few feet of her den, an ugly landscape of flesh and torn fur..the carcasses not even eaten or only partially so. Instead, the unfortunate creatures sported broken spines, crushed bones, mangled and torn fur, joints and limbs wrenched into unnatural angles from angry pulling, tufts of torn out fur littering the bloodstained dirt, caused from her new affinity for tearing out and eating the hearts of her prey. She lay there casually, sharpening her teeth on her latest victim's leg bone in silence. She heard approaching footsteps but simply did not care, her full attention was focused completely on sharpening those deadly teeth...

((Still RPing with Mog with Gabby but I’m setting this, time wise, as if she has met Gabby about one or two days ago now.))

Moghedein could not put off the inevitable anymore, Chernabog had asked her to look into Liriel’s pups and even now as his equal Mog knew this was something that needed doing and that she was the best one to do it having a natural ability to see beyond the surface. She made her way carefully towards Liriel’s den, not knowing if the female was going to be there, hoping she wasn’t as Mog did not yet want a confrontation with her past rival instead she simply wanted to find one of her off spring.

Though as the mouth of the den came into view she spotted a golden feather adorned mask and her heart sank slightly but she kept on at the same pace, never faltering and never showing sign off her inner feelings. Moghedein was the ice queen and a master of her emotions. The sight that greeted her, caused her noise to wrinkle in distaste, a sign she did not hide, as alpha female now she had every right to show her disapproval. Maybe even with gaining tribute from other packs the pack may never suffer from a lack of meat but she still could not condone this needless killing of prey from the packs territory, it was foolish and unnecessary.

Usually Moghedien would watch for a weakness before attack her prey and calculate the situation but she took a different tack now, for now she could. The slender female advanced though portrayed no aggression but took a confident stance, head high and tail swishing. Her voice icy as ever, more deadly than a hoar frost, 'Liriel, stop this mindless killing, I will not allow it.' Fire did not enter her eyes instead they became icy daggers, 'I expected more from you, more of a fight but now it's over I will not let you rot.'

She sympathised with the female though she'd never tell Liriel this she'd only belief her to be patronising her. She had a similar tale to tell herself which had lead to her current icy state but she'd mastered all her negative emotions and experiences, which was what she wanted Liriel to do and not to spiral down in this manner. The purple female was her pack member and a Lady of her court everything else aside.

Liriel hardly even moved a muscle at her ex-rival's approach, still she sharpened her teeth on that leg bone, eventually growing bored and snapping the bone in half between her jaws. The two splintered halves fell between her paws, only then did she lift her eyes to look at Moghedein as she approached. The better-than-thou posture the silver femme had recently adopted with her new rank made her stomach churn, and it was all she could do to keep from returning Mog's disgusted expression. She listened to her words with the cold detachment of a serial killer, her mind's voice laughing at the ridiculousness of it all. She won't allow it eh? She expected more? Oh I could give her more alright, more than that fragile little princess can handle...break those sweet little bones, like crushing a bird.. Her eyes were cold..yet there was volatile energy locked behind that new ice. She stared at the silver femme, unblinking and clearly unstable.

"Then what would you prefer I tear apart, my Queen?" she asked, her voice dangerous and low, "It is a dangerous thing to tuck such feelings away where they can fester and boil..lest they come out in a sudden and bloody explosion some time later..." she gave a dangerously cheerful smile now as her train of thought twisted onwards. "Or is that what you really want of me now? To see me quietly boil and seethe..until a fateful day where I finally snap and get myself exiled from these lands? You would like that, I bet...never have to look at my pathetic hide again." She looked around her pile of bones and carcasses, almost proud of her work in a sick sort of way, admiring the destruction she knew she could cause. "No..I won't be giving you that...these poor wretched creatures are merely practice..practice for when that wretched Caydenn dares to show his hide..and if you disprove, I'll simply have to find something else to rend to pieces now won't I?" She looked at Moghedein plainly now, not caring that the femme knew of her plan for revenge..not caring if anyone knew. It was the only thing she had left in the world to look forward to and that much should be plainly obvious.

Moghedein inhaled deeply though not audibly and stared coolly at the purple female. The rivalry between the two was over and Moghedein had captured Chernabog's heart in a manner that left her confident that he'd never look for another mate, flings perhaps as males would be males and this did not bother Mog as she knew he always return to his ice queen. The gulf that had formed between herself and Liriel must now be closed, Liriel possessed many talents and Mog needed to utilise these as an alpha and also she felt she needed a female close to her, as a male she had Damon a loyal and trustworthy friend that had stood next to her though all her hardships. Now she wondered if Liriel could be her female hand.

Moghedein broke the eye contact and looked down and flipped over a bone with her fore paw, out her path and took a step closer to Liriel. She would not converse on her feelings for Liriel, the female would not listen in this state but she felt she had to address the core problem here. 'Tell me Liriel, do you love your puppies? If not love them I believe you care for them, what would killing their father do to them?' She lowered herself gracefully to sit in front of the purple female. 'I met Gabrielle only the other day, she is not as strong as I had hoped for, not like her mother so I presume her father is to blame for that weakness. But she feels abandoned by her father already and this has already left scars.' She paused trying to gauge the females reaction before continuing, 'Do not allow her to lose her mother as well, do not spiral down this path of revenge Liriel, rise up and raise your puppies to something better, focus on them and make them stronger, let them speak of your strength not your madness.'

She tensed ever so slightly, not knowing how Liriel would react to anything she had said. Moghedein had never doubted Liriel's intelligence and talents but at the same time neither had she been unaware of her unbalanced personality. If words could not reach her, actions would have to then take over and then she could have no more influence on Liriel's fate as the task of dealing with Liriel would fall to someone else.

Liriel's body twitched visibly at the mere mention of her offspring, and at the particular vileness she saw in Moghedien's question. Did she love her puppies? What did this female think, that Liriel enjoyed finding out that she was raped in her sleep by Caydenn impersonating the Goblin King? That she was filled with love at the sight of their wretched wrongly-colored hides upon seeing them? No..Mog is smarter than that..the question is an insult..an appeal to what is supposed to be her maternal instinct.. Liriel again had to struggle to subdue her temper, her head turning again, giving Moghedian a slightly calmer, yet icy glare.

"No."

She took several steps forward now, her eyes fixed fully upon the silver female. "Those sorry whelps are the entire reason my life is now my own personal hell. I'd have killed them all If I could have gotten away with it as soon as I saw the colors of their pelts were entirely wrong...When I knew that I had only dreamed that it was our King who visited me.. I never even wanted to become a mother to begin with!" Her fur ruffled slightly from her angry flare and she paced now, glaring at the ground as if she had a personal vendetta against it.

"Our King..I could have been pleased with a litter of his..I could tolerate that, perhaps even care..but that lowly sneaking b*****d Caydenn, he's not good enough for me to put up with his spawn! He does this..and he leaves! If anything killing that snake would answer a lot of questions those whelps have..they'll never again wonder where their father is.." she paused, shuddering visibly "to even call him a father is absurd...and so is calling me a mother. I wanted no part in this, and still don't. Revenge is all I have left in this world anymore.."

She halted her pacing and took a deep, steadying breath. Her rage had subsided and been replaced by her own bitter emptiness again, as too much thinking can tend to do. She was still angry, no doubt about it, but her own words and realizations cut the deepest. She had nothing else to live for now, hope was gone for any existence better than what she was suffering with now. Her puppies gave her no comfort, and she still had no interest in motherhood. She was truly stuck...and this female she couldn't stand was sitting here telling her to better herself...

...why?

Moghedien steadied herself preparing for the worse when Liriel closed on her, walking directly towards her, Liriel's eyes fixed upon her in a predatory fashion but as Liriel explained she released it was at Caydenn that all her wrath and hatred was directed at. Moghedien relaxed her posture a little though not fully, knowing Liriel well enough not to fully let down her guard, physical and mental. She watched closely as the purple female openly expressed her feelings upon her current situation in life and towards the end Moghedien watched as the female turned in on herself perhaps only now having finally realising her personal suffering.

Liriel was filled with so much wraith directed at Caydenn but she imaged deep down she directed it at herself, maybe she didn’t know it but subliminally Mog knew it existed, a feeling of stupidity for allowing herself to be treated in such a manner. She knew, she had made a large mistake in her life once, which is why something within her now wanted to help this female, someone she had been in competition with until recently but that aside she was now one of her pack members and she took it upon herself to see that all in the pack were bonded strongly to be able to work outwards rather than forever dealing with internal conflicts. Moghedien knew all wolves had their own personal problems and most of the members of the Reign had multiple but she could not afford personal vendettas to escalate to such a level where they prevented the pack from functioning, her preliminary focus.

Her eyes had never left the masked female and now as she drew into herself, her own thoughts taking her she spoke, ‘Things do not always go to plan Liriel, you and I are both old enough to know this. Okay, you didn’t expect to have pups and certainly not with any male besides the goblin monarch but it’s happened. You may take your revenge if you so desire but I beg you, do not let it consume you.’ She harden and her voice became frosty as she reminded the female that she was now the alpha female and that she was her lady, ‘You still reside within the Reign and thus you still have a role to play and as Lady it is a key one for the Reign to achieve it's ultimate goal.'

It took a few moments for it all to sink in, and as she looked Moghedien in the eyes and heard her words, the turbulence in her mind gradually began to settle, and the fires of her temper cooled. There was an inkling of understanding in that short gaze, and perhaps just knowing that another wolf knew her anguish was enough to soothe some of her troubled mind. The acknowledgment of another gave her a little closure.

She closed her eyes and settled herself, and it felt as if a great weight was lifted off her back. Her fires cooled, and she reigned her temper into check. She let out a long, soft breath and with it she breathed out her unvented rage for Caydenn. He was gone now, and she knew that if he ever came back she would then be able to mete out his punishment..but for now, she needed to start again. There was no use in wishing for the past to change, and she knew that in order to find satisfaction in her life, she was going to need to seek it in present reality. The King was taken, but her brood was at least beginning to show some promise..there was still hope for them. She needed to help them first..and maybe then she could find some happiness for herself. The Goblin King couldn't possibly be the only male out there worth her time..

Her golden eyes opened and settled once again on Moghedien, utterly changed. She was calm, almost serene, but her quiet inner strength was returning with each steady breath she took. She was letting go.

"I understand, m'lady... My judgement was clouded by my rage. I cannot wait forever and seethe until Caydenn returns..If he ever returns. I will have to cross that path when I come to it...until then, I cannot forget my duties.."

Her eyes rose and met her Queen's once again and she gave a soft, subtle nod -an unspoken "Thank you" - before averting her eyes. She still held some jealousy of Moghedien's success, but her hate was beginning to fade. That small moment of understanding was the most Liriel had ever received, and the rarity of it weighed heavily on her perception of the alpha female before her.

"The Reign must continue on..and I cannot let myself be left behind.."

The cogs in the back of her mind started turning again, pondering the merits and strengths of possibly aligning herself with the Queen, forming a partnership of sorts. A small smile worked at her maw as she entertained her thoughts.

Moghedien stood serenely in front of the masked female, her icy eyes meeting truly for the first time with Liriel golden orbs a moment of the purest understanding passed between them and in that moment Moghedien knew something great was going to come out of this bond. Moghedien permitted the raven beauty a rare spectacle as she demonstrated a little true emotion as a small smiled played upon her delicate features and a small incline and nodding of the head before she settled herself down to sit comfortably in front of the purple female. Her own icy mask soon returned however and she spoke once again of the pack and duty. 'The King and I will be holding a pack meeting soon, there we will announce where the Lords and Ladies are to travel to next.' This was only a formality and though Moghedien had not come to Liriel's den this day to discuss the matter she took the opportunity to divulge the information with her new trustee. 'Have you heard of a pack called Antianeira?'

The decision to send Liriel to Antianeira had been any easy one to make, from what Moghedien had gathered about the pack they were predominately female, males were considered slaves or at best 'pets'. It would have been no use sending a Lord to collect tribute from such a pack and Liriel was the most experienced Lady, the only other at present being her daughter Gabrielle and Moghedien saw no strength in her. Females dominating over males, such females could only be strong in nature and thus Liriel was the best candidate for this task and perhaps Liriel herself would find something to her liking while visiting the pack, morals or beliefs which she could adopt to help her deal with her issues surrounding Caydenn.
