The Saber is a larger, more heavily armored and armed brother of the Scimitar starfighter. It is less modular and more focused on fighter to fighter combat than the ability to be outfitted for any mission.

While the Scimitar starfighter was an excellent starfighter and in most cases was good for anything one might need it for, the Drathonians tactic of fielding even larger swarms of ships to combat the more powerful new models of Terran ships saw the tiny workhorses overwhelmed. In response, a larger, sturdier, yet still fast and agile fighter was built, made specifically for engagements against large amounts of enemies, and for dogfighting. thus, we have the Saber starfighter.

The pilot sits in the cockpit in a semi reclined seat. the controls are a double set of joysticks, one on each side. it is controlled similar to a present day bobcat. the cabin is pressurized and has artifical gravity to
combat g-forces. the canopy is made from transparent duratanium. there are numerous volumetric displays showing information from the sensors inside and outside the ship.

The fuselage and wings are compsed of duratanium plating. Under each wing is two hardpoints for missiles or other armaments.
==== Computers and Electronics ====
SF-OS: the SF-OS is an operating system designed specifically for this fighter.
Pilot's Helmet: the helmet is wirelessly linked to the SF-OS and can interpret Thought signals, making piloting easier.
==== Emergency Systems ====
Emergency eject:there is an emergency eject button for extreme emergencies. The Button causes explosive bolts to set off, breaking armor plating off, and ejecting the Cockpit capsule, which is Identical to the Capsule of a Scimitar. These capsules are interchangeable and, after an eject, may be reinstalled on another body if the capsule is in good enough condition.
Distress signals:the OS automatically sends out distress signals when necessary, unless it is disabled.
Distress beacon: the pilot's helmet has a built in distress beacon.

Air Recycling System: The air of the SF-X-24 is filtered through a Co2 scrubber which purifies it with great efficiency.
Pilot's helmet: the helmet features a built in HUD and in an emergency can keep the pilot alive in a vacuum for several hours, provided the pilot does not freeze/burn to death
==== Propulsion ====
Dynamic Thruster Drive: A network of small front, rear, lateral, dorsal, and ventral thrusters. These thrusters permit very swift and erratic, yet calculated movement in battle. As such, The SF-X-24 can move in very unpredictable manner. In addition, if ever needed, the ventral thrusters can be used to achieve vertical landing and take-off.
High Energy Plasma thruster: The Main STL propulsion is provided by a pair of Energon diffusion thrusters, which convert the energy from the Energon drives directly into an extremely powerful high-speed plasma. Ships traveling too close behind the Saber can experience veavy turbulence or even become damaged
Propulsion: The fighter propels itself at speeds many times the speed of light by use of a Micro-fold drive. This allows the fighter to travel many times the speed of light.

The Saber is Powered by an Energon drive. This energon drive Produces enough power to power every system effortlessly.
==== Shield Systems ====
The Saber uses a Specially modulating Plutanovicz shield system, which has several sections which move about the ship in an infinitely variable pattern, keeping any one section from being taken down too quickly.
Shields and Fold are dispersed and modulated by a Deflection Relay system housed on the wings
==== Weapons Systems ====
The Saber can use anything the Scimitar could use, just in small numbers. It has three built-in armaments, however.
Heavy laser cannons: (4) Nose mounted, these heavy anti-fighter cannons are great for overloading shields and ablating armor plating. These primary armaments have one downfall, they will overheat eventually, and radiate the heat into the cockpit. Using the lasers nonstop for more than 30 minutes can cause a pilot to lose consciousness. ROF is one round per second per barrel.
35mm Gauss cannons: (4) Gauss propelled Depleted Uranium rounds are great armor piercing weapons and hold behind them the force of a 20'th century tank's main cannon. while powerful, they only have so many rounds, the exact number being 500 per cannon, or 2,000 total. Rate of fire is one round per second per barrel.
Micro-missile launchers: (48 ) Micromissiles are self-guided fire and forget weapons that seek out targets and explode in proximity. used mainly for defense, they can be fired in large numbers to distract an enemy, and sufficient hits can cause the destruction of a fighter. 10 micromissiles per luncher tube, making 480 total.
