This was familiar territory. He'd spent the last month or so expanding the land which he roamed. It'd been hard times out there, he had chosen a bad direction to go in. Hard-packed earth had turned into mushy ground and he did not like walking where he wasn't sure his paws would land.
Now, with a half eaten (and rather scrawny) gazelle a few paces off the large male rested in the shade, tail flicking slightly in his contented state.

Shu'reh followed her nose, moving away from her home lands carefully. She could judge the difference in smell, sounds, and the feel of the earth as she moved which made her comfortable to be out and about, but she knew to be vigilant and cautious because she was alone.
It wasn't until she was out in the open that she realized she'd just walked into the presence of another. His masculine scent wafted into her nostrils and she immediately tensed, knowing she had probably already been spotted. From so far away she couldn't tell much about him, but she would stand her ground if it came to it.

Akua actually had heard her before he had managed to pick out what must have been another lion. She walked with a careful measure to her step, making as little sound as she could. Lifting his head he swept his poor gaze back and forth over his field of vision. Now that he was looking he saw the haze of white with a little bit of a startle. She'd actually managed to get relatively close without him realizing it.
He shifted a little uneasily, wondering if somehow he'd wandered into pridal lands without realizing it. He thought he'd been sure to remain a safe distance from the boarder.
"Hello." He got to his feet, remaining where he was. The chances of them noticing the faded gray of his eyes or being able to tell he had such trouble seeing was slim. If he acted normal they might not even be able to tell at all.

Shu'reh felt like she was going to burst with stress when the male finally greeted her. "Hello," she replied softly, trying to muster up a smile. "I'm sorry if I intruded. Usually I'm much better about sensing others nearby."
Her words were friendly, but she knew that in a moment's notice she would be able to strike should things go wrong. It was thanks to all the training she'd done that she was so confident, but she wouldn't get too cocky. If this was his territory she knew he could be fierce.

He relaxed... just a little. If she was worried of breaking into his territory then she might not be from the nearby pride and he certainly probably wasn't in it's territory. He gave a small smile, sitting down. He wasn't completely at ease, the female was tense. Poor thing might be a fellow Rogue lion who'd encountered one too many nasty others. "There isn't much territory to be 'had' here. Too close a pride's lands. No... I suppose you could call me a wanderer. I don't consider much of the land 'mine'."
He looked behind him, motioning with a paw towards the gazelle. "Here then..." His voice softened considerably in an attempt to sooth the anxious female's nerves. "If you're hungry I've had my fill. Your more than welcome to have a bite."
He wondered if she'd been in caught up in any fights to be so anxious. "My name is Akua."

At the males gestures she did visibly relax some. She moved forward witha more genuine smile and sat down in front of him, trying to look him in the face, though it could have been his chest or the sky for all she knew. She judged based on the direction his voice came from, but some times that could be deceiving.
"That would be my pride. Matembezi'Wasakaji." She nodded slightly. "But I've heard warnings of groups of lions who claim land anywhere they can get it, so I try not to let myself just walk up to a stranger carelessly." She grinned at his offer but politely shook her head. "I'm not out looking for food. Just wandering. Seeing how far I can get from the pride before I get uncomfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. Thank you though."
She didn't mention that she was blind. She'd already had enough grief over all the misfortune that had cause her. Blindness was an obstacle she worked every day to get beyond, and she did not want sympathy from others. She could do things on her own, so why should people feel bad for her?

The shape approched, solidifying a little bit more. White and red. How nice, he thought. She sat directly in front of him surprising him a little bit. Thankfully for her his own vision was bad enough that he couldn't tell she was looking slightly over his shoulder and upward.
"Ah... yes, those ones. I've had the luck to manage to steer clear of most of them." She was confident, he admired that. "The lands in this area are very familiar to me. I think I've been roaming here for quite some time." He settled a little bit, resisting the urge to lean closer to get a clearer view of her.
An ear flicked as he thought of something. "If you'd like I could travel with you. Like I said, this is familiar ground for me and perhaps you'll be able to find yourself managing to get further if someone who knows the lay of the land so to speak is around." He was confident he could hold up the sham of being of poor sight. Pointing out a landmark here and there.
