Heavy tail balanced in the air lazily as the dark female padded her way across the warm sands. The sun was high and the waves loud but calm; a spectacular day by this prides standards. Milani'la smiled softly as she let her light eyes scan over the water's choppy surface. Perhaps she could do for a nice swim right now? Hm, or maybe go enjoy a nice nap up in the nearby trees and enjoy the watery view?

Indecisive, the feline stood still for a moment to clear her thoughts. But there was no rush and the day was still young. Giving a sigh, Milani'la gave into the urge to groom, and languidly rolled herself into the sand with a 'thump'. It really was relaxing, as the sand was fine and powdery and oh so warm.

Ah yes, she was content to lay around just for this moment...

Kirjava was never contant to just lie around. Kirjava was energy and adventure, spontaneous and fun. Even now that she was an adolescent, the cubbish streak and need for adventure had not been quenched. She lived for the thrill of the unknown and, though she knew this land all but inside out now, she always loved to see what new things had drifted in from the sea.

Things from far away lands where lions looked different from the ones here in the place she knew.

So, to say that she was surprised to see an unusual cat had been washed up on the beach that day, was an understatement. Her eyes widened and in seconds she was tearing down the coastline to where the 'alien lion' was rolling.

"Finally!" She blurted. "You don't know how long I've been waiting for you! Like...like my whole life!" She skidded to a halt and began to bounce eagerly on the tips of her paws.

Black ears had been muffled by the nearby sound of waves and of course the smooth sand. So it came as a surprise to the older female as well when the other Bahari member came bounding up to her side. Confused and alert, Milani lolled up to her side and leaned upon her elbow to get a better glance at the other. Though...her brow did lift as she heard the excited words from the younger lion.

"I'm....sorry? Have we met?" The leopard was perplexed by this other feline. Was she expected at another pride ritual and she missed out? No, that couldn't be it. And just who was this lioness anyways? Politely, she asked the girl what was on her mind.

"Now, what exactly have you been waiting for?"

Kirjava shook her head fiercely, laughing in delight as the other spoke. So the lions from the other side of the water spoke the same language? That would make things a lot easier!

"Nope! I'm Kirjava. Very.very.very.very.very pleased to meet you!" She took another step closer, her nose working maniacally.

"Waiting for? Well, for you, silly! I knew there were lions across the sea. Lions that looked like us but different. Most days I came down here, waiting for the moment when one of you would be washed ashore. This is so exciting! I just...I just can't believe it! What's it like...living on a different land? You must tell me everything!"

Okay...so Kirjava's imagination was certainly running away with her.

Slowly, the leopardess leaned back as she sat upright. Hm, seemed this young lion has alot of energy to expel. "Kirjava, it's a pleasuer to meet you." The darker feline nodded while maintaining her calm demeanor. It was hard to forget that this pride was not used to the company of other creatures. So in hindsight, Milani'la could really understand the raw joy of the young lioness at discovering her.

Why not play along?

"Oh, yes that. The water was truly cold to cross. Lucky thing I ended up here, yes? Why, it even washed away all my tail tuft." And the female flicked her tail in display. "What a shame..."
