Team Glacé, as they called themselves, walked towards the entrance of Lightning Factory to start, and hopefully complete, their first mission. For this one they had a client come with them, because he apparently really wanted to beat up some electric-types. Glacé was meeting them at the front of the dungeon, and so that’s where they were headed. Rather quickly, actually, because they were 10 minutes late. ”I TOLD you, Noelle, if you want to say hi to the guild master, please make it under 15 minutes.” The Eevee shrugged off the situation and sprinted away to the front of the dungeon by herself, and once she got there, shouted back, “HEY EVE! THIS GEODUDE GUY ISN’T HERE YET. I WONDER WHERE HE IS? HM…” Eve shook her head at her partner. She was a great friend, but sometimes she could just be really annoying. Her train of thought was interrupted by a big rock that was mere inches from crushing her body. A loud shriek escaped from her mouth and she jumped back 3 feet. ”Oi, I’m the Geodude you are probably looking for. And I startl’ you because it were a test to see if you were ready for the strenuous dungeon, and YOU, MISSY, FAILED MISERABLY!” He pointed a rough finger at Eve and scowled. He turned to Noelle. ”You, on the other hand, passed with flying colors…” His voice still held the same gravely tone. ”YAY!” Noelle spun around chanting ‘I won, I won.’ ”Or was it because I didn’t test you?! Who knows! Anyways, me fingers are gettin’ ITCHY! I NEED TO BEAT UP SOME ELECTRIC-TYPES, LET’S GOO~!” The spazzy Geodude punched the entrance to the dungeon and made a hole in the wall bigger. What did we get into?” Eve thought to herself as she lagged behind. Noelle was happily chatting along with the Geodude about everything in life. Eve sighed and they officially entered the dungeon.

1F- (oo)(oo)(oo)(oo)(oo)
Lightning Factory was just a maze in a building with electric Pokemon ready to shock anything. Geodude was blazing right through everything, because he told Noelle he was resistant to electric-type attacks. It looked like he was the way he was defeating everything in their way. ”Hey bub! Leave some for us, ai’ight!” It was apparent that Noelle was trying out her scary Geodude accent, and Eve had to admit it was pretty good. ”Are you tryin’ to copy me, you li’l runt?” He punched his fists together in a threatening way, but Noelle was un-phased. ”Alright, that one in the cornah’, that can be yours li’l missies. Go beat it up. Iss malicious. Everything in dungeons iss.” He pointed to a Shinx in the corner that was growling with another. ”OOH, Eve, let’s give this Pokemon a taste of Team Glacé!” Noelle rushed into the battle and body slammed the Shinx HARD. It slammed up against the wall and gave out a yell. ”Wha was that foh, man?” He charged up electricity for a little bit and it just happens that Eve was the closest thing to him when he released the electricity. It hit her, and she was sent flying, and hit the Geodude with her back. Noelle growled. ”You don’t hurt my friend like that. But since you did, I guess I have to KILL YOU NOW.” The Eevee body-slammed the Shinx a couple of times and he fainted. By now Eve had basically recovered by using Absorb to sap a bit of Geodude’s health after she hit him. She was hobbling back, and saw that the Shinx had fainted, and quickly tackled him to give him a piece of her mind. ”Wow, Eve, I didn’t know you could be so violent!” Noelle said with a surprised look. Her partner shrugged, then they heard a loud voice from the other side of the room. ”I’ve had near enough fightin’ on this floo’; let’s go up here, da stairs are heyuh.” The two little Pokemon of Team Glacé followed the not much bigger Geodude up the stairs to the next floor.

2F- (oo)(oo)(oo)(oo)(o-)
”Hey, Geodude, how about you stay near us this time? Because I think client usually stay with the team they hired… Just a thought?” Eve said timidly. Surprisingly, he nodded. ”Yeh, you righ’. Don wan me gettin’ lost, now do yah?” He got next to them, and noticed they were a little bit tired. ”You fellas ai’ight?” Noelle nodded after the question. ”That Shinx was tough. I think I used one too many Body Slams.” The Geodude nodded sympathetically. ”How about I fight them enemies foh a coupl’ a floors, eh?” So Noelle and Eve took the lead and Geodude followed behind, beating all the wild Pokemon in their way. Soon they found the stairs and settled down next to them to rest for a little while, but not for long, because Mr. Geodude’s fingers were getting ‘itchy’ again. So they moved on before one of them got punched.

3F- (oo)(oo)(oo)(oo)(--)
Eve was getting very fed up with these floors looking exactly the same. She checked the bulletin board flyer in her bag and looked for the floor number on the paper, because she figured it would be rude to ask. FIFTEEN?! This was going to be a long day. Noelle seemed to sense that Eve was concerned with the amount of floors they would be going. ”Say, Mr. Geodude, why do you want to go all these floors just to beat up some weak electric Pokemon? Don’t you think that is kinda… sadistic?” She asked, standing back and he was brutally punching a Pikachu. Eve flinched at the sight but stood still because she wanted the answer to Noelle’s question as well. He put the Pikachu down and it scurried away. He sighed, and turned to them. ”It’s a long story, kids. I don’ have time to tell an long story.” He avoided eye contact with them and picked up another Pokemon, this time an Elekid. ”Anyways, let’s get movin’. Also, at the 15th floo’, there’s summin’ I want to get. But I ‘unno if it still there, yesee?” Eve agreed they should probably get moving and picked up the pace to the next floor.

4F- (oo)(oo)(oo)(o-)(--)
As soon as they got up the stair the Geodude starting assaulting some electrode. Little immature Noelle just giggled. ”Hee hee~ They’re the same shape!” But at least she had some common sense to tell it to their client. That would have been disastrous. She looked around, and spotted a young Pichu they might be able to fight. Noelle pounced away while Eve struggled to catch up with her stubby legs; and her bag with a lot of food didn’t make it any easier to walk. When Eve arrived at the scene, the Pichu was already taken care of. ”Aww, Noelle, I wanted to help you beat some Pokemon too, but you already beat this one!” She showed off her infamous pout and stared at her partner. Noelle felt a little sorry but shrugged it past her. ”If you want to be a great explorer you gotta be faster!” And with that Noelle and Geodude walked away to what seemed like the next floor, but Eve couldn’t tell because she was to far behind. And the Geodude was too chatted-up by Noelle to notice that there should’ve been two rescuers instead of one.

5F- (oo)(oo)(oo)(--)(--)
After a short while, Eve had caught up with the two, they were becoming fast friends. Or it seemed like it when she came up to them. She finally got Noelle alone. ”Psst, why are you trying to be friends with that Geodude? He just wants to harm innocent Pokemon.” Noelle leaned in and whispered quieter than Eve had done just now. ”Because he’ll give us better rewards when we complete the mission, don’t you know?” She shrugged. ”Truthfully, I doubt it, but I still want to make an attempt. But it’s so hard to do when you want to faint from his horrible B.O.!” Noelle made a face and went back to the Geodude, but didn’t forget about Eve, because she turned around and winked. It was a relief to her she wasn’t losing her only friend quite yet. And it would be nice if they got a better reward as well. The Budew thought for a little bit, then rushed up to Noelle and Geodude. ”So, Mr. Geodude? How do you feel after beating those Pokemon?” She smiled at him warmly. ”Well, little Missy, I feel great! But I still want to go to th’ top, an’ anyone who tries to stop me will pay…!”

6F- (oo)(oo)(o-)(--)(--)
Noelle had been talking to the Geodude for a while now, and didn’t know his actual name. She and Eve had just been calling him Mr. Geodude. He seemed not to mind, because he never said anything. She decided not to ask him because if he didn’t mind, why should she? She heard a loud gasp coming from the Geodude, and he went off quickly to the corner of the room they were in. Glacé rushed after them and peered over his shoulders to see what was in the shadows. Geodude blinked, and turned sharply around. ”I-It be nothin’. I thought I saw summin. Let’s get movin’.” He retraced back to the spot they were, and kept his head down the whole way. Eve timidly approached him. ”You know, I thought I saw something too… It looked like a Magnemite, or a Magnetron, or something.” She said quietly. Geodude instantly lifted his head and whispered to himself, ”So they are here. Good, I’ll finally be able to get it back.” Eve’s sensitive ears picked it up, but she didn’t say anything, while Noelle was talking to a small, friendly Elekid family about this dungeon.

7F- (oo)(oo)(--)(--)(--)
After the incident on the last floor, Geodude remained quiet and attentive to his surroundings. No one knew what was wrong, but all the same he kept fighting these poor electric Pokemon. Now Eve couldn’t stand it anymore. “Mr. Geodude! Please tell me why you want to beat up these electric-types.” She said. The Geodude sprinted off extremely quickly for a rock. He came back with a Pichu in his hand. ”This is the reason why, missy. This Pokemon here separated my family!” He shook it violently. It started crying. ”No! No! You must be mistaken! I’ve never done anything bad in my whole life I swear! I am a good Pichu! I’m very young and so I couldn’t have done anything! Please, good Geodude, let me go!” The Geodude made a face. ”Eh? You are a Pichu? Then off with ye!” He dropped it then it scampered away. ”Wait! Pichu!” Eve ran after it and finally got it’s attention. ”First of all, what’s your name? Second of all, do you know this Geodude or have heard of him in any way?” The little Pichu nodded. ”My name is Dash.” He grew quiet. ”I may know this Geodude, but why would I trust YOU?” He pointed a finger and his cheeks lit up. The Budew sighed. ”You’re right. Truthfully we are only with him to get a reward. We rescue people. We are a rescue team.” He smiled. ”A reward? WOW! You get stuff for rescuing people? That’s cool. Okay, so I know the Geodude. I don’t have anything to do with him, and he doesn’t have anything to do with me. BUT, my uncles, my father, and older brother all went to his house on the 16th floor and kidnapped his family…” He lowered his voice once again. ”Please believe me that I have nothing to do with this.” Eve nodded. ”I trust you, Dash.”

8F- (oo)(o-)(--)(--)(--)
Dash followed Team Glacé and the Geodude to the 8th floor. Eve had gotten him to tell them where his malicious family members were. ”They live on the fourteenth floor,” He had said. ”I’ll come with you if you don’t mention my name to anyone there. I WILL get disowned. I need to stay with them, I have nowhere else to go.” The team accepted his help with the consequences and set off for the fourteenth floor. Right now they were not close and not far from their destination floor, but they needed to start hurrying up if they wanted to get there before nighttime. But soon they heard buzzing and two Magnemite appeared. They looked angry and ready to fight. ”BZZT YOU HAVE INVADED OUR TERRITORY. NOW WE WILL- BZZT- MAKE YOU LEAVE.” Noelle thought they would say eliminate, or destroy, or something more threatening. She voiced her concern. ”You guys need better threat words.” She got into a crouch as the two Magnemite charged in anger. One went to Noelle and Eve and the other made their way towards Geodude and Dash. Eve was a little worried about them, but reassured herself that they would be fine. After all, the Geodude did want to come to this dungeon to fight electric-types. Noelle quickly Body Slammed the Magnemite as it got near, and Eve Mega-Drained it. None of the moves were very effective but the small Pokemon did flinch a little. Noelle took this as a chance to attack it again, but didn’t see their Thundershock coming towards her. It was a direct hit to her, and she fell to the ground, but quickly pounced up. Eve retaliated by using Mega Drain once more and the Magnemite scurried away. Noelle cheered. ”PFFT, they’re just scaredy cats.” The two went to check on Mr. Geodude and Dash, and found them nearby. Geodude had the Magnemite in a head-lock and Dash was cowering behind him. Once he saw the team, the Geodude threw the Magnemite away from him and headed for the stairs. They got to the next floor quickly and silently.

9F- (oo)(--)(--)(--)(--)
Once on the ninth floor Dash was starting to get nervous. ”I do trust you guys and all, but please, PLEASE don’t tell my family that I ever helped you.” He repeated ‘please’ over and over and over. He was really afraid of whatever his family might do to him. So afraid that every move that anyone made made him sprint behind someone and start charging his electricity. He had seemed pretty normal before. ”You will be totally fine if you’re with us!” Noelle winked. ”Have no worries. Whatever our problem team creates, our team will solve.” She beamed at the little Pichu and smiled. Eve whispered harshly. ”WE CAN’T PROMISE THAT! ARE YOU CRAZY?” Noelle let out a quiet ‘oh’ and turned back to Dash. ”…Probably.” She added to her previous promise. Dash left no time to think, as he burst into tears and lay down on the cold tile. The team and their client waited for a few seconds for him to stop, but the Geodude had no patience. He picked Dash up by his neck and went forward. ”We ‘ave no time for distractions, less get moving!”

10F- (oo)(oo)(--)(--)(--) - Big Apple x1
”THERE! Over there, I saw my brother!” Dash whispered to the team while pointing at a shadow in the distance. ”My brother definitely knows about this Geodude and his family.” Dash hid behind Eve so as not to be seen, and Geodude went forward and shouted, loudly, many times. ”HEY! I know ther’ a Pikachurr here, I KNOW IT! Come out o’ the shadows.” There was no response for a couple of seconds, and Eve stood there blinking. Were they really just stepping into danger like that? Noelle stood her ground and tried to seem bigger to hide the tiny body of Dash. She heard a ‘swoosh’ behind her, and a Pikachu was there right behind her. He growled, and everyone turned that way. ”DASH! Little brother! I never thought you would betray us!” He then saw the client of the mission, the Geodude right there with everyone else. ”Dude, there’s a Geodude right there! Why aren’t you fighting it? Rock Pokemon don’t belong in this dungeon. Instead you are with this loser team.” Dash remained silent in the face of his brother, and his brother sighed. ”I’m sorry bro, but I’m gonna have to tell Dad.” He sprinted away, and Dash started bawling again. He was mumbling, ‘I’m never gonna see my family again!’ and ‘My life is over forever’ and ‘I have nowhere to go’ but finally he just curled up into a ball and whimpered. Geodude started to go after the Pikachu but the team couldn’t just leave this little Pichu alone after being abandoned. Noelle picked Dash up and set him on her back. The Eevee was only a little bit bigger than the Pichu, but she seemed to be able to walk alright. ”Let’s move onward. We have to stop this crazy ‘clan’ thing.” The Eevee, the Budew, and the whimpering Pichu all followed the Geodude to the fourteenth floor.

11, 12, 13F- (oo)(oo)(o-)(--)(--) – Apple x2
(I already have the required amount of Word pages for this mission so I’m skipping these floors because they would just be doing nothing/the same thing over and over.) Team Glacé, Geodude, and Dash all sped through the floors as fast as they could to get to the 14th floor. On the way there, Eve stumbled upon a crazy Voltorb who promptly killed itself in front of Eve’s face after one Absorb attack. The greenery around her face will never be quite as bright.

14F- (oo)(oo)(--)(--)(--)
Finally, they were here and they instantly knew what they had really gotten themselves into. The three Pokemon were faced with a row of over 10 Pikachu, all staring at them as soon as they had come up the stairs. Dash’s brother from before stepped before them and spoke. ”See what I mean! Dash has paired up with a Rock Pokemon and a rescue team that thinks they can beat us!” He stepped back and the whole ‘clan’ let out a roar of growls and sparks. Geodude had protected them from it, because he could apparently barely feel them. Noelle set now-sleeping Dash into the corner of the room in case they had to fight. She would prefer him to fight as well, but he was just a little kid; what could you expect? Noelle just wanted to battle so she rushed forward and used a Body Slam to hit Pichu’s brother, but he easily shocked her out of his way. ”It’s no use you little kids, now prepare for battle!” Everyone got in their battle poses and exchanged intense glares. The leader was just about to yell something when Dash yelled something first. ”STOP!!” He said, and pounced up to the middle of the ‘battlefield.’ ”This is so wrong. Just because there are Rock Pokemon here doesn’t mean that you can just go on and banish them. Sure, they aren’t the same type, or sure, they aren’t yellow, orange, or red like all of you are. But they are still Pokemon, and they can live here if they want. If you want to hurt this Geodude, I--” Dash was cut off by his brother Iron Tailing him across the cheek with his full strength. Dash flew back and hit the wall and fell to the ground. Eve shouted. ”WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU? You said you only like electric-types yet you just hit your brother square across the face!” The Pikachu laughed. ”That may be true, but he is a traitor. Even if he was destined to be great. A traitor is still a traitor.” The large Pikachu stepped out from the crowd. ”Are we really just going to talk it out, or are we going to FIGHT like you promised us!” A Raichu, usually not found here spoke. ”Stay calm, Yaago. I hate to admit it, but this little Budew here has a valid point. We vowed to only hurt rock-types, but look what you did here? You hit your own brother. Your kin. This is not what we live for. He is a traitor, but you could’ve let him go in peace instead of attacking him full-on.” He pushed Yaago out of his way, and walked over to the Geodude. ”Get what you want here and leave. This place wasn’t meant for Rock-types, but…” The Raichu had great difficulty in saying this. ”We will leave you alone for the time being.” They both exchanged a solemn nod and all of the company followed. Even little Dash, because he had nowhere to go. His face was starting to get purple and swollen. His brother had hit him HARD. Noelle lifted him up and onto his back. He couldn’t come back with them to the guild, but he was their responsibility for the time being.

15-16F- (oo)(--)(--)(--)(--)
After a floor of silence, the whole group finally made it to their destination floor. The floor they were going to. Mr. Geodude let out a laugh. ”I was very skeptical of you two makin’ it dis far, but I gatta say you did me proud.” He nodded and put his hands on his pseudo-hip. ”Say, Mr. Geodude. Why did you want to go here?” Noelle let out a quiet sentence. ”I thouh’ I told ya before missy. This here’s my home.” He moved some curtains out of the way and there was a room there with a few pillows, a giant rock for decoration, and a frame with a picture the team just couldn’t quite make out. The Geodude raced over to it and gently picked it up. ”My family used to live here, until those Pikachurr driven them out.” He thrust the picture towards them. ”That there’s me darlin’ wife Suzane, my lil’ boy Dishnee, and his cute lil’ pet rock, Arnie.” He held the picture close. He thanked them through his facial expression, and the team decided that it was time to go home. First they shone their badge on Mr. Geodude to take him to wherever. Next they moved on to Dash. Although he had nowhere to go, the Team didn’t know what to do with him. ”I’m sorry, we can’t look after you now. You’ll just have to stay with that Geodude for now. I’m sorry. I hope we’ll see each other again.” They said. And with that, they teleported Dash first to somewhere them themselves to the guild.

"Heh, heh, you kids are pretty good."
A voice called out upon the team's arrival back to the guild.
Looking around, neither of them could tell where it came from.
"Your rewards are right there." It called and a small bag was tossed to Eve's feet.
Inside was the Stone Plate, 3000PD and a...small...Pichu...bound and gagged...Dash?!
A flash of light revealed where the voice was coming from, but the light was also a teleport so neither of the new explorers could tell who had just spoken to them.
Moments later one of the walls of the guild shook and a hole was punched through it to reveal a familiar Geodude.
"I'm ready for anoooootherr adventuuurrrrre! Wanna go?!"
Also known as 'I want to join your team!'

[Excellent first mission! o3o It was fun to read. You may have both Dash and the Geodude recruits if you wish, although normally we only give you the option of one.]

[Thank you~! :3]

Noelle and Eve were surprised when they were called to the front of the guild the morning after they had done the mission. A quiet whisper came from the still-half-asleep Eve. "Oh yeah! We didn't get anything in return! I was so choked up about that poor Geodude and his family that I didn't remember we were doing this for a reward!" She smiled. "It's sure a good thing though, don't you think, Noelle?" The basically-dead Eevee struggled to catch up. She wasn't a morning person.

They met there to find a bag-- and Mr. Geodude was there too! Noelle perked up right away and jumped on him. "Hey? How are you!" She said from atop his head. He laughed heartily for what seemed like the first time they'd met him. "A lot betta now that I am not bein' chased after no mo. I've ev'n took it upon meself to redecorate my house up on the 16th floor! All thankin's to you guys. I'm ready for another adventure anytime you ladies are. Oh yeah, and this LADY likes adventures too." He kicked the bag towards them. Noelle and Eve were a little confused but opened the bag to find Dash bound and gagged. Noelle and the Geodude laughed loudly but Eve shrieked and quickly ran over to Dash and untied him. "Hehe, don't take it to seriously, it were a joke, missy." Noelle's eye lit up when she also spotted another small bag with 3000PD in it and a Stone Plate. She eyed it and pushed it into the team bag that Eve was carrying.

The two outsider Pokemon got serious. They both wanted to join, but not as much as Dash because he was almost in tears. He did have nowhere to go after all. "Hey Dash, why don't you come with us? We did lose your your home." After Noelle said that, Dash let out a squeal of joy and skipped to stand by the team. "And Mr. Geodude, you did say about how you redecorated your home. I think you should just continue living your life and maybe start over. Or try to look for your family. Also, I'm sure you have a lot of adult stuff to do instead of staying with these young'ns." They all laughed and Geodude responded as if he totally understood. The team and their newly added member went back to wherever they had been sleeping to sleep some more.

.::Stark & Rem & Geisha::.

It was an odd sound combination that made its through the facility of the Lightning Factory. First was the clacking of sharp claws on the concrete, second, an odd buzzing noise, as of an insect hovering. And the third sound, a sort-of windy sound, like a faint breeze. A trio of Pokemon emerged from the rubbish round about the building. First in line was an Absol, followed closely by a hovering Nincada and Mismagius. The trio looked into the depths of the facility. Loud smashing and roars could be heard, accompanied by screams of fear and pain. The trio of Team Blacksteppe looked on impassively. One of them suddenly spoke up after a serious smashing sound occurred from the buildings.

“Lovely vista, don’t you think?” said Stark, voice dripping with sarcasm. “We should get a summer home here.”

Geisha giggled at this statement, but Rem was unimpressed. “Honestly, sir? This is a serious situation. There could be injured Pokemon down there.”

Stark rolled his eyes. “Sarcasm, Rem- give it a try every once in while.”

“Okay, you two,” said the Mismagius, drifting between the two “combatants.” “We’re here to do a job- we can bicker between ourselves when we get paid. Until then, there are people to save.” And with that, she drifted toward the facility, leaving her partners standing dumbly in her wake.

“Where did you find her again?” asked Rem, smiling slightly.

Stark huffed. “I didn’t. She found me.” He sighed melodramatically. “Come on, she’s right. There’s a job that needs doing here.” He jogged to keep up with the Mismagius. Rem buzzed in place for a moment, then shrugged and followed his teammates.

--

Stark looked at the junction carefully. On the one hand, there was the left path. On the other… well, you get the point. In the distance, beyond the wall ahead of them, was the sound of the Metagross’ rampage. Stark glared at each passage in turn, as though demanding of them which way was fastest. Rem and Geisha stood behind him, cautiously trying to decide which way to best advise him. Finally, Rem crept up alongside Stark, clearing his throat.

"Sir, have you—"

"Shut up! Dammit, I almost had it, that time…"

Rem buzzed sheepishly. "Well, you see, we are in a bit of a hurry—"

“I know, Rem. That’s why I’m trying to decide. Arceus…”

Both stood staring at the passage for a few more seconds, until Geisha floated between them, bowing slightly as she passed.

“Allow me, Mr. Dravin,” she said, floating toward the left passage. “If you will go through the right-side passage, we can more easily discern the way to the target. I will find you once I have determined where this passage leads.” And with another bow, she was off.

Stark and Rem stood there dumbly for a moment, then Rem cleared his throat again.

"That does seem to be a better so—"

“Shut. Up.” Stark stomped toward the right-side passage, with Rem following tentatively behind.

"She was only trying—"

“Don’t care,” came the terse reply.

Rem’s eyes narrowed slightly in frustration. "We were just trying to advise—"

Stark whirled. "You can take your damn advice and—"

Suddenly, a piercing scream pierced the air. The two spun in the direction of the scream. It came from...

“Geisha!” shouted Rem, flying toward the direction of the scream. Stark dashed forward alongside him, following the winding passage toward Geisha. Stark’s mind was whirling.

Please be okay… Please, Arceus, be okay. The two ran through another doorway into what looked like a large warehouse. The roof had caved in long ago, leaving the building open to the elements. But that wasn’t the important part. What mattered were the Jolteon and the Elekid carrying an unconscious Geisha on their backs.

“Geisha!” called Rem, causing the two Pokemon to turn toward them in shock. The two looked to each other, and then took off running behind a mass of twisted metal.

“Stop!!” shouted Stark, chasing after the two Pokemon. He ran over toward the pile of metal, thinking to run over it and cut the two off. However, as soon as he touched it, a shock of electricity blasted him away. He flew away, his fur smoking slightly as he flew.

“Stark!!” called Rem, hurrying over to his Captain as he landed heavily on the ground. Suddenly, there was a loud cackling from the top of the metal heap. Stark, shaking his head to try and wake himself up, directed his gaze toward the laughter. Three Pokemon stood at the top of the structure; a strange Luxray with an amber gem set in his forehead, flanked by two Luxio. The Luxray was the source of the laughter, still cackling as he leapt deftly down the pile. He was still laughing lightly as he landed a few yards from Stark and Rem.

“Aye, didja see that?” he shouted in a thick Scottish accent. “Flew ‘bout ten meters at least! Shoulda seen the look on yer face, boyo! Ah, puts a song in me ‘art, it does!”

Stark shook his head. He must have landed harder than he thought. He stood shakily.

“Who… are you?” he asked, cringing as his head throbbed again. The Luxray laughed again.

“Yeh want tae know me name, do ye? Cannae say I blames yeh, boyo. Unfortunately, I en’t got time fer names righ’ now. I gotta go check on the lad what’s wandered into me territory; make sure he’s done what he’s told.”

His words were followed by yet another crash- this time closer than before. The Luxray chuckled.

“Sounds like he’s bein’ a good lad,” he said, laughing.

Stark looked incredulously at the Luxray. “That Metagross… that was your fault?”

The Luxray cackled. “Aye! He’s been such a help ta me, as well. Causin’ such a fuss like he ‘as. Keepin’ folk away from me grounds. I hardly need ta look outside anymore!” The Luxray exploded into insane laughter, joined by the Luxio on his left. The other Luxio merely smiled shyly.

Stark glared at the Luxray. “Then what was the point of taking Geisha hostage? Where is she?”

The Luxray blinked. “Cannae say I know what yeh’re yappin’ aboot. Wasn’t me what took yeh’re bonnie lass, boyo. Ain’t in me nature ta mix business wit’ pleasure.” That started him cackling again.

Rem rolled his eyes, then started to move. "Well, it’s been… an experience meeting you, but if you don’t mind, we have something to be doing. We’re under orders to subdue the Metagross you’ve imprisoned here, so, if you would kindly—"

He stopped as he turned to find the Luxray in his face. He gaped openly, looking quickly at the pile of metal, then at the Luxray again, just in time to meet a hind leg to the face. Rem bounced a couple times, landing painfully at Stark’s feet. Stark looked up, but the Luxray was gone inexplicably again. He took a step forward, then flinched as he felt a powerful shock. He stumbled to his knees as the cackling started up in front of him. There was a crack as the Luxray materialized fully in front of the two. Stark looked up painfully.

“You… you can… teleport?”

“Aye! Me da was an Espeon, ‘ee was,” he said, tapping the gem on his forehead. “Funny stuff, eh? I migh’ even have royal blood in me!” He punctuated this remark with a swift kick to Stark’s head, sending him tumbling. He felt another shock as one of the Luxios sent a Thundershock at him and Rem. He cried out, trying to stand, but he was shaking too badly. The two Pokemon that had kidnapped Geisha emerged from behind the pile.

“We took care of that Mismagius like you asked, Mr. Faust,” said the Jolteon.

Stark growled. “You… said… you didn’t—"

He cut off as the Luxray- Faust- stomped on his head. “I said I it wasn't me what took 'er. I got no int'rest in the lass. But me guard dog out there gets a wee bit lonely sometimes. I thought ‘ee might need a friend.” He cackled as he hit Stark with an electrified tackle, sending him sprawling once again. Rem tried to get up, but was pounced on by the Elekid, pinning him down. Stark growled as the Luxray, along with the Jolteon and one of the Luxios approached him. He cringed as he was blasted with multiple shocks, one from each Pokemon, cycling around. Rem struggled against the Elekid’s grip, but to no avail.

The shocks came faster now, almost blasting into him with a staccato rhythm. The trio laughed in exhilaration as they tortured Stark. Suddenly, the Luxio that had hung back started to speak.

“Uh… guys?” the Luxio said in a clear, feminine voice. Stark felt confusion through the fugue of pain. It’s a girl?

Faust turned, obviously not pleased with being interrupted. The Luxio stuttered for a moment, then spoke up again.

“I, uh… I think they get the message now. You can let them go now… right?”

Faust chuckled. “Ah, I think not, lassie. I think they’re still a wee bit too lippy to let go withou’ a proper warning,” he cackled, kicking Stark in the stomach, unaware of Stark's eyes slowly paling. Faust and the other two Pokemon started shocking Stark and Rem, prolonging their bursts to get the maximum amount of pain out of it.

The Luxio flinched at each shock, as though she was the one being struck, then started up again. “Really, guys, they’ve had enough. We could get in trouble...”

Faust and the others ignored her, the shocks almost a constant surge of electricity by now. The Luxio stomped her foot, almost in tears.

"Seriously! That’s—"

“ENOUGH!!” shouted Stark, feeling a sudden rush of psychic power through his body. He gathered his strength, then released it, blasting the three Pokemon through the air like rag dolls. The Jolteon struck a metal girder, then flopped to the ground lifelessly. The male Luxio bounced five times before slamming painfully into a wall. The female Luxio yelped, then hid behind the metal pile. Faust was recovering several yards away, getting groggily to his feet.

Stark didn’t let him. He picked up the Luxray, then flung him into a wall, stunning him for a moment. Next, he conjured up a fist of energy, aiming it at the stunned Elekid on Rem’s back. The Elekid flew away with a girlish shriek, and Rem was able to stagger to his feet. Stark winced slightly as a familiar voice started up in his mind.

Are you nuts or somethin’? Tryin’ to get us both killed, are ya? Next time ya need help, just ask for it! Don’t wait ‘till yer half dead for me to save yer sorry arse!

Stark sighed as Boros went on, then glanced at where Faust had fell. He was gone, as Stark had suspected, but where--?

Suddenly, there was a loud slam at the wall next to them. Then another. And another. Stark edged next to Rem, who had already sank into a battle-ready stance. The loud slams kept coming, and Stark started to feel a little apprehensive. What was causing that noise? Suddenly, the noises ceased, and a shadow appeared at the base of the wall. Geisha emerged from the shadow, looking a little bedraggled. She looked at Stark and Rem, perhaps a little incredulously.

“What are you two doing just standing there? Run!”

Stark and Rem were puzzled. “Ah, I’m sorry,” said Rem. “…Run?”

“RUN!!” she shouted, but her words were drowned out in a massive smash as the Metagross came crashing through the wall. Riding atop it, cackling insanely, was Faust.

“Now, this is more like it! Ride on, Sparky! Take them all out!” He punctuated this with a massive shock on the Metagross for good measure, drawing a loud metallic shriek from the Pokemon. Faust laughed and teleported away, his cackling sounding from the open roof. The trio turned, spotting Faust atop a metal girder.

“Listen ta me now, children! If yeh survive this beastie, keep it in yer minds- yeh haven’t seen the last o’ Wallace Faust!!” And with that, he teleported away, the ghost of his laugh still hanging in the air.

Stark and the others didn’t waste time wondering about where. The Metagross tucked in its legs and charged at the trio at psychotic speeds. Stark and Rem just barely managed to get out of the way. Geisha started to blast the Pokemon with Shadow Balls. The thing shrieked as each shadow struck him and exploded. It turned, staring at Geisha with eyes aglow. She flinched suddenly, making sounds as though she was choking on something. The Extrasensory finished, and Geisha drifted to the ground, twitching limply.

Rem tried to concentrate on the Metagross with Mind Reader, but to no avail. Each time he got close, the Metagross’ thoughts would change drastically- there was no way to focus on just one thought. Rem shook his head, releasing the Mind Reader, then flying in with a Metal Claw. He never made it, unfortunately. The Metagross lifted its arm with blinding speed, batting Rem away. Which, unfortunately, left Stark alone again. Stark backed away hesitantly, assessing the situation. The Metagross cut off his view of Geisha, and Rem was still trying to struggle to his feet from that last blow. Stark looked to his bag- the Explorer’s Badge was still in there. He could get them home, at the cost of the mission- but what was some dumb mission next to their lives?

He ripped open the bag, and was confronted with something unexpected. A royal blue orb sat in his bag- the Outrage TM he had never used. He stared at it mystified for a moment, then pulled it from his bag. He looked up as the Metagross began its charge. He closed his eyes, waiting for the impact, and was greeted instead with an ear-shattering sound. He cracked open his eye. Geisha floated behind the Metagross, pumping Shadow Ball after Shadow Ball into the Metagross’ back. She turned to Stark desperately.

“Do something!!” she shouted, yelping as she dodged out of the path of a ripple in the air. Moments later, as section of the roof exploded outward. “Do it now!!”

Stark nodded, then placed his paw on the TM. The orb slid into his paw like liquid, and suddenly, Stark was angry. Very angry. He concentrated on this fury, and azure flames began to lick up at his heels. Boros' voice sounded in his mind.

Yes… Yes… This is it. Take him down! Finish it! Stark was too caught up in his newfound power to ignore the prompt. He leapt up, now sheathed entirely in blue flame, raising his paw. The Metagross turned, shrieking, just as Stark’s paw descended into his face. An explosion of blue fire struck from the contact, accompanied by a metallic scream. The Metagross staggered backward out of the blue bonfire, drifting closer to the ground from the dizzying impact. Stark leapt for the Metagross again, bringing much of the fire with him. Both Absol and flames struck the Metagross again, slamming it to the ground. It shrieked in agony as Stark ran up to it, beating it repeatedly in the face with his fiery paw. Finally, overcome by the pain, the Metagross fell to the floor, spent.

But Stark wasn’t finished. Unbidden, almost unaware of what he was doing, he drew on Boros’ power, lifting the Metagross limply into the air. Finally, he grabbed each of the Metagross’ limbs, and began to pull. He barely heard Geisha’s shocked cries, or Rem’s weak protests. There was the sound of metal straining.

Destroy, came the call in Stark’s mind. Destroy them all. All of them. Make them suffer, like we have suffered. Destroy all evil, all darkness, forever! Dest--

No. Suddenly, Stark felt Boros release his power slightly. This one will not die today, said Boros’ voice. And with that, he was gone. Stark paused in shock as he now fully realized what he was doing. Hastily, he set down the Metagross, just as the last scraps of Boros’ power left him. He felt groggy, dizzy, from using so much energy. Geisha floated over to him in a huff.

“What are you doing? You could have killed the poor thing! It was hurt and confused by that Faust character! It didn't mean to!! What--" By and by, she realized Stark’s state of being. “Hey… are… you all right, Mr. Dravin?” She stood up straighter, realizing something. “Was it… him… again?”

Stark nodded dumbly. “But… it was different this time. It was like… he knew that the Metagross wasn’t evil; he stopped himself.”

Geisha looked confused- much as Stark felt- as Rem buzzed up alongside them.

“Well,” he said, a bit dazed, “I’m glad the mission is done, but how are we to get the brute out of here?”

"Leave that to us! Bzzt!" said a voice behind them. All three whirled to see their client, followed along by a number of Magnemites and Magnetons. In unison, all of them used Magnet Rise, lifting the Metagross up.

“We’ll make sure the Metagross is put somewhere safely away from here. Bzzt. You all should go and get some rest. Bzzt. I’ll come find you about the reward once we’re finished with him. Bzzt.” And with that, the magnet Pokemon flew away, towing their “quarry” away.

Stark chuckled. “I could go with some rest, actually,” he said, putting a paw to his forehead. He reached in his bag, pulling out the Explorer’s Badge. He pressed it, and, in a flash of light, the three were gone…

When the team teleported back to the guild, well, nothing happened. The Magnemites had to deal with the Metagross before they could handle the rewards, after all. That wasn't the first reminder of the mission, however.

"Y... You!" The female Luxio's fur bristled violently, her fangs bared. "You're that... that... That monster from back at the factory!" She took a few steps back from Stark, carefully gauging a distance between the two. "What the hell did you do to that Metagross?" Her eyes darted to the doorway, which she turned to and ran. She didn't give Stark a chance to speak. The team wouldn't be seeing her again, at least not for now.

A few days later, a Magnemite appeared at the doorway of Team Blacksteppe. A third magnet was attached to him, and for some reason he was carrying... a Beldum? "BZZZT. Greetings. Our apologies for taking so long, the Metagross gave us a great deal of trouble." With a slight click, the Magnet (and the attached Beldum) fell to the floor with a bang. "As is fitting for your assistance, we have brought you a suitable reward as well as a request. Many Magnemite were lost in his rampage and it seemed fitting to bring you one of their magnets. You may do with it as you wish." The Magnemite rotated slightly in midair to look down at the Beldum. "As I said, dealing with the Metagross took quite some time. Your attack damaged it considerably and the only way to sustain it's collective functions was to disassemble it. Unfortunately, the disassembly was only partially successful; the Beldum you see before you has been nonfunctional ever since. We Magnemite of the Lightning Factory ask that you attempt to repair it. We share a sense of camaraderie with it."

Suddenly, a voice called down from across the hall. "I think he went this way!" The Jolteon and (male) Luxio from earlier bounded down the hallway after the Magnemite. They came to a sudden halt, half-skidding half-stopping at the team's door. "We found you!" The Jolteon stopped for a moment to catch it's breath (evidently, it had been running for some time) before continuing. "We'd like to join your team." The Luxio nodded his agreement.

((Take either the male Luxio or Jolteon as a recruit.

In lieu of knowing what the ??? reward was intended to be, take the Beldum. Consider it to be a "Beldum Egg" for recruit/inventory purposes.

You take the Magnet as normal.))

.::Stark & Rem & Geisha::.

Stark looked down at the non-functional Beldum. So, this was what was left of the Metagross. He hadn't meant to hurt the thing so badly- he had just... lost control.

Ah, I still say the big fella got what he deserved, being trashed by that Scotch b*****d like he did. You shoulda put 'im out of his misery. Stark rolled his eyes- Boros seemed to have forgotten that it was his idea to leave the Metagross alive. Then again, he seemed to have no memory of the incident whatsoever. Geisha floated over to the damaged Beldum, picking it up gently. She floated back to her spot. Stark bowed slightly.

"Thank you. We'll watch over the Beldum for you- see that it returns to health." The Magnemite bowed, then carried on its way.

The trio then turned to the two Pokemon, eagerly awaiting Stark's decision. He pondered for a moment, then motioned to the Luxio. He walked forward, looking a little nervous. Stark sized him up.

"What's your name?" he said suddenly, causing the Luxio to jump. He stammered slightly as he answered.

"W-William, sir. I-it's... William."

Stark nodded. "You're the one who was helping that Faust guy shock me, yeah?"

The Luxio, William, paled slightly. "Y-yeah, but it's not like you think it is, yeah? Faust, he's nuts! He kills anyone who doesn't do what he tells them, he woulda killed all of us, even Celeste, if I hadn't played along! Ya gotta believe-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, Sparky. I was just sayin'- you got quite a kick to you." He stuck a paw out. "Welcome to Team Blacksteppe, William."

The Luxio nearly fainted with joy, and ran into the room to inspect his surroundings. The Jolteon stood there sadly.

"Well, crap. I don't wanna go back to Faust, but... I got no other place to go."

"So don't go back," said Rem. "Travel around. Advertise your skills. Some team will pick you up."

The Jolteon brightened considerably. "You really think so?" he said.

"You bet!" said Geisha happily. "The Guild of Roaring Thunder would love to have someone like you on their team, I'm certain!"

The Jolteon nodded, smiling to himself. He turned and waved, and then trotted along on his way. Stark looked at the unconscious Beldum in Geisha's arms. He sighed, thinking about that female Luxio's words.

I really am a monster, he thought sadly.

Two of a kind, we are, said Boros, followed by a fit of maniacal giggling. Stark jerked his head, as though to dislodge the voice, and turned toward the room- only to run inside and kick William off of his cushion.

WANTED: Mamoswine
We don't know how he got there or what he's trying to accomplish, but he's trashing the Lightning Factory! Stop him before there are more casualties of his rampage!
Last Seen: Lightning Factory

Gouka::::: Clair

Gouka looked around as they entered the old factory and sniffed the air in hopes of finding a scent trail. Unfortunately, there were too many scents in the air to choose from. Too many conflicting smells to tell which way the culprit went or even which scent was the culprit.

Gouka growled in frustration before turning to his eyes for help. The entrance they had walked through had been, literally, blown wide open. The doors were knocked off their hinges and that was never a good sign. There were old computers strewn everywhere and several bodies were underneath the mammoth sized instruments.

How awful. How can any pokemon do such a thing?

Gouka ignored his partners question and proceeded forward. It was no time to become emotional. They needed to stop whoever was responsible for this before it happened again.

Clair followed him, trying hard to ignore the smell of death in the air. As she walked past one of the computer servers she heard a small creak from behind her.

Gouka…

I heard it. Keep moving, be on guard though.

The two continued to walk deeper into the factory. The duo stopped at a fork in the road, which caused a massive problem for the two.

We should go down the one on the left.

And why do you think that?

You mean you didn’t notice? I’m not surprised.

She smirked to herself when she saw the white Growlithe send her a glare that proposed she go on before she got burned.

Ok, look at the debris. Most of it looks as if the debris just fell from the walls; which would make sense since we are in an old factory. However, some of the debris looks like it was flattened and torn down. We are looking for a rampaging Mamoswine. He may have knocked all of this over when he ran past here.

Gouka nodded approvingly before speaking.

You do come in handy at times.

Clair frowned at him and eventually stuck her tongue after he turned to face the left path.

Arrogant jerk.

A screech caused both of them to jump and face the right path in a battle ready stance. They each were startled by the sudden burst of noise and were curious as to what made the sound. After several seconds they each shared a worried glance.
I’ll head after the Mamoswine; you go investigate. If you need help scream.

Oh, yes; because I’m so pathetic.

Gouka smirked before saying “ Of course you are.” and running down the trail that, supposedly, lead to the destructive pokemon.

Clair turned to face the lengthy hallway that was assigned to her and sighed. “ Alright, here we go.” She said as she ran toward the source of the sound.

When the hallway opened up to another room, Clair came upon a strange sight. An Elekid and a Luxio were tossing around a Pikachu while a Shinx was trying to snip the Pikachu’s tail while it was airborne. That wasn’t the strange part. The fact that the Pikachu was black and white with green eyes was the thing that made it strange. She had never seen a pokemon so far off its regular color wheel; with the exception of Gouka.

What’s the matter mutt? Getting dizzy?” One of the Luxios asked as the other laughed at the misfortune they were causing the poor creature.

Come on you guys let me go! What if that scary Mamoswine comes back?!

Then we will feed you to him! Ha ha, I’m sure it eats runts as well!

Clair glared at the two bullies and made her way into the light of the room to make her presence known. With her hands on her hips, she yelled at the three bullies. “Hey! Put him down and leave him alone!

The two Luxio turned their attention to the Larvitar; completely forgetting about the Pikachu that they had just been tossing around. This resulted in said pokemon being thrown into a pile of old filing cabinets, which was not a comfortable landing.

That was not what I meant!” Clair growled as she ran to the downed Pikachu.

Oops. My bad; he slipped from my grasp.” The larger Luxio said with a smirk.

Don’t you kids have something better to do than picking on others? Say like, trying to find shelter from the rampaging pokemon? That is a serious hazard to your health you know.

The cats were clearly not interested in Clair’s rant and, instead, were glaring at the Pikachu in her arms. She noticed this and placed the unconscious Pikachu behind her while getting into a protective stance in front of him.

Get out of the way. We gotta teach this mutt a lesson before his mother comes back and starts whining.

Clair frowned at the Shinx. “Why are you picking on him in the first place?

That is none of your business. Now if you aren’t going to move, we will move you ourselves!” The Luxio growled as it assumed a crouching position, ready to attack Clair and the sleeping Pikachu.

Elsewhere in the factory, Gouka was sniffing a downed supply cabinet. There were tuffs of brown hair on one of the corners and Gouka was sure it would lead him to the angered pokemon. A small grind of metal caused him to still. Something was there; possibly the same thing that had made the startling noise when they had entered this hazardous building.

Leave.” A metallic voice said. A magnemite shifted from behind a desk, revealing itself to Gouka.

And why should I do that?

Leave now

Gouka sneered at the pokemon. And Clair calls me rude. He began to walk to the next room, following the clumps of hair. His departure was halted by a stream of electricity that hit the wall near his face.

Oh hell no. I know you didn’t just shoot that blue crap at me! I’m gonna beat the living day-lights out of you punk!

With that said, Gouka charged at the metal ball aiming a takedown tackle at it. His attack was dodged easily and he slammed into the hard wall behind the Magnemite. After shaking off the impact, Gouka spun around and ran, once more, at the Magnemite.

The Magnemite had been charging up its own attack and had been waiting for the right moment to strike. Now the Growlithe was frustrated and striking blind. It let loose a large blue bolt that was accompanied by a thunderous boom, straight at Gouka’s chest.

Gouka’s eyes grew wide as he was caught in a mid air leap. He had no way to dodge the attack and awaited the inevitable. The blast connected with his chest and sent him reeling back into the contact zone he had just recovered from. His tiny body left a puppy sized dent in the metal wall and his fur was smoking from the heat of the attack.

Alright, sparky. I’m refuse to stand for for your crap any longer!

With an unrestrained battle cry, Gouka let out a stream of white fire that engulfed the small metal pokemon. A metallic cry was heard over the roaring flames and Gouka chose to prolong that as long as possible. Soon he grew tired and allowed his own flame to die out.

The pokemon fell to the ground with a thud, the prongs on its magnetic sides bent from the extreme heat of the attack. It was non-responsive as Gouka came over to it and looked down on the newly defeated pokemon with distain. The pokemon’s body gave off a small hum, before it too died to a quiet nothingness.

Gouka glared down at the deceased pokemon with pure hatred in his eyes. He felt no remorse; no guilt. Only anger burned in his eyes and that anger was shown through the white hot flames that he displays in his rage. Why did he not cease his attack earlier? The Magnemite could have been beaten without the use of excess force. It could have lived, but he couldn’t have cared less.

That should teach you to screw with me.” He snarled before turning back to follow the trail of fur.

Back with Clair, things were just beginning to heat up. The Luxio had made his move and pounced at her with deadly accuracy. His body became surrounded by a light blue glow and loud cracks from his being signified that the glow was due to its electrical power.

Clair had been intimidated by the flashy show that the Luxio was performing, but her wide eyes narrowed as she smirked at the oncoming attack.

You guys aren’t that bright.” She said as she rushed toward the lion cub.

With a grunt, Clair leapt into the air and came down with a hard thud. The ground beneath them shook violently as her Earthquake attack made ripple like waves toward her assailants.

The Luxio, who was in mid stride when the move was launched, was pushed back into his Elekid partner while the smaller Shinx crashed into a pile of wires. The collision between the Elekid and the live wired Luxio caused a small burst of electricity to fire off in the room. The unfortunate Shinx in the wire bundle was caught by a stray bolt that lit up all the metal around him, especially the exposed metal in the cables.

With a startled yelp, the small cub leapt from the entangled death trap and ran out of the room with his tail between his legs; a trail of blood trickling after him.

Leon!” The Luxio cried before glaring at Clair. “You will pay for that!

Wait, Rai! Your attacks won’t work!” The Elekid tried to hold his friend back, however the cat eventually broke through his binds. “No!

Clair knew the Luxio would come after her, so she had been preparing an attack just for him. She felt rather guilty for what happened to his brother, but they deserved it for trying to hurt the Pikachu behind her. As she concentrated, two white rings appeared and began circling around her body. The solid ring broke into multiple fragments, but still kept their circular rotation.

He warned you.” She said in a matter of fact tone.

The Luxio continued to rush toward his intended target while his body began to glow a light blue once more. However, this time several wild bolts of electricity escaped his being and fired in indiscriminate directions.

Two bolts struck the Larvitar, but she stood strong; unaffected by the current coursing through her body. She smirked at the look of disbelief in his eyes.
Ground is immune to Electricity.

With that, Clair unleashed her stone edge attack; sending dozens of glowing rocks at the already stunned pokemon. She had divided the attack into two directions. One headed straight at the Luxio and the other on a course to take care of the Elekid.

The Elekid had been anticipating the fight going south. He had taken cover behind an overturned desk to hide from the attack. He stayed behind it as he felt the desk get pelted with the sharp stones.

Rai yelped loudly as the rocks pierced through his fur. Most of the attack had only given him minor scrapes and scratches. However, one rock had managed nick the outer edge of his ear, taking a very large piece of it off. Another stone, which was meant for the Elekid, reflected off of the downed desk and back at Rai. Since he was still airborne and the sharp rock had been thrown with massive force, it spun up to cut the Luxio across his left side.

As he was forced by gravity to return to earth, Luxio rolled onto his uninjured side crying in both rage and pain.

The Elekid hopped over the desk and ran to his friend’s side. “Hey! Rai! Oh man…dude let’s go. Your mom’s gonna kill us.” He said fearfully as he lifted his friend cautiously.

Clair looked at the two sympathetically. She watched them limp out of the room before turning to check on the previously unconscious Pikachu behind her.

Hey, you ok?” Clair asked as she knelt beside the pokemon.

The Pikachu groaned as he sat up holding his head. “ Uh…yeah thanks. I..I could have handled them though.

Clair threw a look at him that made it obvious that she didn’t believe him. “Right…can you walk?

Yeah yeah…” He said as he stood up. He wobbled a bit, but sustained his balance after a quick second.

You should go home. I’m sure your mom is worried about you.

Why do you care?” The Pikachu glared at Clair accusingly.

Something about him, other than his unusual color, reminded her about her Captain.

She gasped. “Captain Gouka! Aw, man. He’s going to think I ran into trouble. Well…I did, but I handled it well.” She sighed as she realized she was talking to herself.

Captain…Gouka?

Yeah, he is my uptight, arrogant, partner. We are from the Guild. We’re looking for the Mamoswine.

Oh…him.” The Pikachu looked away from Clair and at the hallway entrance. “ He went that way, but-

“But” what?” Clair looked over her shoulder with a droll look.

Well, he is huge.

Yes, I’m sure he is.

And he is angry.

Clair rolled her eyes and continued to walk to the hallway. “Yep, I would imagine he is.

The Pikachu ran up behind her with a look of disbelief on his face. “ And you are going after him?!?!

Clair turned to him with a deadpanned look. “Um…yeah I am.

The Pikachu looked after the Larvitar as she walked out of the room. He shook his head before turning towards the entrance hallway and running back toward home.

Gouka walked into the next room. He was still incredibly pissed at his last encounter and it showed clearly on his face. Gouka’s mind was racing as he went to the next room. Son of a- That little metal piece of crap! How dare he talk to me like that. I refuse to be talked down to like that. Well, at least I won’t be hearing from him anytime soon.

Served him right.

Served who right?

Gouka growled at the intruder only to realize it was his Co-captain. His shoulders eased as he sighed in frustration.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sneak up on you.

Whatever. Did you find anything?

Clair walked over to her shaken captain before answering with a sigh.

Just some kids picking on another. Did you find the Mamoswine?

She took his lack of response as a “no”. She sighed as she followed after him. Something was wrong and it was bugging her that he refused to tell her.

We need to find him fast. There is no telling where he might be now.

A loud crash signaled for an alert attention from the two. It seemed to resonate through the walls and the vibrations shook even the heaviest objects.

You think that was him?

Without a doubt.

The two ran through several corridors, leaping over newly trampled debris and avoiding being crushed by cave-ins. Clair had some trouble with keeping up, but managed to stay close behind her Captain.

When the two reached the fourth room, they instantly noticed a blocked exit. It was surrounded by multiple native pokemon and they seemed to be the ones putting up the blockade.

Gouka snarled at a nearby Pichu. “What the bloody hell are you doing?!

The Pichu stared up at him with wide eyes and answered his question in a shaky voice. “ Um, the Mamoswine just went through. We…we are blo…blocking it off so it won’t come back.”

Gouka didn’t like that answer as he pushed his way past the Pichu and into the crowd.

Move! Out of my way!

Hey! What’s the big idea? We need to put this up before that pokemon comes back.” A Luxio snarled as Gouka pushed past. Gouka turned on him in a heartbeat.

You ain’t blocking nothing! Now back off or I’ll make you back off! Get out of here; all of you!

When his demand was not met, Gouka let out a roar of pure anger. As if the roar had actually injured the pokemon, they all took off; all except the female Luxio.

She glared back at Gouka before snapping at his face.

Visibly shocked at her persistence, Gouka yelped as she bit the side of his snout. He growled to himself before lunging at the lion. The two began exchanging quick bites and rolling about for dominance.

Clair looked between the two and thought of entering the fight and breaking them apart. However, she was stopped when she was given an order.

Move that crap out of the way!

She hesitantly complied and began taking down the barrier of objects.

Gouka yelped again as the Luxio nipped his shoulder. He answered back with a snap to her face and managed to only catch air. The Luxio snapped at his face and caught him on his already scarred eye, which gave her a clear advantage. Gouka howled in pain as his wound was re opened and the blood made his left eye useless.

His opponent didn’t give him time to recover as she pushed him off of her and charged her fangs with electricity. She ran at him and attempted to chomp down on his neck. Gouka had seen this and managed to duck under her attack. He used this as an advantage to use his Take Down tackle and sent her spiraling back into a pile of discarded junk.

With a fierce growl, Gouka stalked forward menacingly. The lioness glared up at him, but couldn’t get up due to exhaustion. She let out a small growl of defeat as she noticed his fangs glow white hot.

Clair noticed this as well and stepped between the two. “Stop! Enough! Jeez Gouka what’s wrong with you?! We are here to take down a Mamoswine, not kill a bystander!

Gouka’s attack dimmed as he turned on his Lt. “She attacked me first!

I don’t care who attacked who first! Act as if you cared enough about the well being of others and walk away.

Gouka glared back down at the Luxio before looking at Clair. With a scoff, he turned his back on the two and walked into the previously blocked room.

Clair sighed before turning to the Luxio. “ You owe me big time.” She said before running after he captain.

As the two entered the room, the first thing they noticed was that the entire room was covered in a thin layer of ice. The second thing they noticed was a giant brown, angry, Mamoswine that looked ready to charge at them.

That’s him I think.” Clair whispered.

Gouka growled deeply before the ice around him began to melt. “Good. I’m tired of looking for your sorry, brown, butt. Your coming with us, fatso.

The Mamoswine’s eye twitched from its irritation. “Little runt! I’ll teach you to call me fat!!!!” He yelled before charging at the albino Growlithe.

He’s an ice pokemon!

No s**t!” Gouka yelled back before blowing over the massive pokemon with his signature white Flamethrower attack.

The Mamoswine tripped from its interrupted stride and slid, face first, across the melting ice toward the duo. Both Clair and Gouka had to leap out of the way to avoiding being crushed between the wall and the large pokemon. The Mamoswine finally came to a stop after ramming into a wall of old computers and groaned as it stood back up.

Gouka wasn’t about to let it get another chance to trample them and rushed at the pokemon while surrounded by his white flame. As he came into range, he leapt and somersaulted the rest of the distance; hitting the Mamoswine right between the eyes.

As he landed from his rebound against the heavy head of the Mamoswine, Gouka swayed slightly before falling to the ground. All the fighting he had done today had really done a number on him and the new headache from the head butt wasn’t helping matters.

Clair rushed to his side. “Are you alright?” When his only response was a few grumbled words she smirked. He’d live.

She looked back up at the Mamoswine as she noticed it sway. It somehow managed to stay on it’s longer than Gouka, but it was evident that it would fall; directly on them. Clair’s eyes grew wide as she hurried to pick her Captain up and move them to a safer location.

Uh-oh. Time to go, Gouka.” She said with a strained voice as she managed to toss her Captain over her shoulder and scurry to a safe distance; and not a moment too soon.

The giant pokemon came down with a hard thud which cracked the remaining ice and rattled the lights overhead.

Phew, that could have been ugly. Hey Cap’n…Cap’n wake up.” Clair yelled as she shook her sleeping Captain.

Uh…no…that’s my bone…no…not the Beedrill nest…” Gouka snarled and twisted in his sleep which caused Clair to giggle.

Awww…he is so cute when he is sleeping.

With the fall of the Mamoswine it wasn't long before the denizens of the Lightning Factory began to filter back in, all of them heading towards where the fight had been.
Many were grateful for the team that had rid them of a menace.
Others still were quite angry. The two team members had, after all, attacked and scared off quite a few pokemon. Gouka had killed a Magnemite for no reason, although none knew it.
Either way, Clair ultimately ended up leaving with her partner. There was a fair bit of heat for the fact that they had injured civilians (a few quite severely) and it became quite clear quite fast that staying would only exacerbate the situation. If it got to a fight, Clair could hardly deal with the entire factory on her own while carrying Gouka.
Officer Magnezone came knocking at their door later that evening. "Bzzt. You are Team Armageddon, the team which dealt with the Mamoswine in the Lightning Factory, correct?" Upon receiving confirmation, the officer released a small crate he had been holding onto in front of the door.
"Thank you for your contributions to law enforcement. We hope to work with you again."
And he promptly left.
Whenever the team got around to opening the crate, they would find quite a few things inside. First and foremost was an egg with an attached letter. The egg itself was wrapped comfortably in a silky looking scarf that seemed to crackle with electricity. Maybe it was meant for the egg?
This kid doesn't have anywhere to go. Take care of him.
Another letter was inside, containing a not-so-politely worded message to "never come back".
The team also found 1,500 PD and a Magnet Rise TM strewn throughout the packing foam.

((A decent bounty overall. Not exceptional but certainly not bad. I have a few comments, though.

- The whole thing was a bit anti-climactic. You spent a very nice amount of time working through the dungeon, yet the fight itself lasted only a few paragraphs. Continuing on that, the Mamoswine had a fairly limited presence and affect on the bounty itself. Aside from some minor dialogue and the barricade as well as a bit of area flavour, he didn't really add anything to the story. Something to take home for future bounties and missions is to try and keep the goal itself heavily involved. In the end, the bounty could have been written almost exactly the same way if the Mamoswine hadn't been there at all. You want to try and make the center point indispensable if possible.
- "Gouka glared down at the deceased pokemon with pure hatred in his eyes. He felt no remorse; no guilt. Only anger burned in his eyes and that anger was shown through the white hot flames that he displays in his rage. Why did he not cease his attack earlier? The Magnemite could have been beaten without the use of excess force. It could have lived, but he couldn’t have cared less." was a bit overdone. If the language had been adjusted slightly or if it had been slimmed down, it would have been a bit better. Make sure to read over your work for things like these; they stand out a bit and I honestly couldn't help but think "this is silly."
- Try not to rely on colored font to convey whose speaking. You didn't do it often, but there were a few times (especially with enemies) where it wouldn't have been clear who was speaking without the coloration. Using the font tags can be a great literary tool within the guild, but try not to make it a habit.
- Gouka seemed to shake off the electricity pretty quickly. The part where he got blasted back into the machinery didn't have any affect later on in spite of being a serious sounding injury. He was "tired" later, but it seemed as if it was put in almost as an afterthought. Serious attacks (especially electrical ones, which screw with your nerves) should have a more immediate, obvious or specific result.))

Overall it was a good bounty and I look forward to seeing more of your work. I read basically everyone's material, so I'll probably read everything you write at some point.))

((-I apologize, I didn't read over throughly due to time restriction in RL and guildwise.
-I was told before to make it more diverse when righting to avoiding clumping things together; mainly in large paragraphs. I'm not used to posting in this format and usually write paragraphs. By being pushed out of my comfort zone I'm over correcting and not paying attention to regular mistakes.
-I agree that Gouka's actions could have been delayed more, but I was portraying it as a while later. I could have worded it differently as to avoid that confusion. He had taken damage and it was shown through most of later assaults.
-He took down the Mamoswine easily just like Clair did for the electric trio. His combination of fire and physical attack (two main weaknesses of an Ice/Ground type) were what caused the quick downfall. The majority of the bounty was trying to find the pokemon and avoiding conflict with the locals.
-I'll try to work on this better. I just need to adjust to the new writing requirements of this guild.))

Gouka was still knocked out from his bout with the Mamoswine and Clair had just sat down in her desk chair when she heard a knock on the door. She groaned as she made her way, sorely, to answer it.

After confirming their identification, Clair looked down at the crate left by the officer. With another, more stressed, groan, Clair dragged the massive package inside and shut the door. She sat on the box and looked at her tired Captain.

He was bandaged heavily and had been stiff since she placed him down on his pillow. Gouka had also stopped talking in his sleep; much to Clair dislike.

Clair stood up after taking a small rest and walked to her cot. She decided that they'd open the crate later and that it was best for both to get some sleep.
