A field-trip to a carnival in the middle of winter - Shade had to wonder just what the teachers had been thinking when they'd planned it out. Not that he hadn't wanted to go, he just wished that they'd chosen a nicer time of the year. Even with his fur and jacket, he still found himself shivering a little. However, he didn't have to worry about being cold for long; running from other teenagers tended to up your inner temperature quite a bit.
Spotting a tent, the boy quickly ducked behind its flap, praying that his classmates would pass by. You'd think that after his last field-trip, he'd have stopped going on them altogether - getting lost in an unfamiliar part of town wasn't the funnest thing on his list. However, he'd always wanted to go to something like this, and he doubted that his mother would probably ever have the time to take him. So...here he was, hiding from a pack of high school students in a carnival tent. Not /EXACTLY/ how he'd envisioned it.
'I can go look around once they're gone though...' he thought, peeking outside the tent's flap. They'd give up eventually, after all.

Faolan looked up, laying a tarot card down, and arched a brow at the boy hiding at the entrance of his fortune telling booth. Good thing he'd decided to open early with the news of field trips swarming the carnival today. He'd forgone his usual costume for jeans, a shirt unbuttoned most of the way down, boots, and a heavy fur-lined jacket. He tilted his head slightly. "Are you lost or looking to be lost?"

Shade was peeking out the entrance to the tent when he heard someone behind him. Startled, he jumped and spun around, eyes slightly wide. He should've guessed that this was someone's tent! He was lucky to have not barged in on someone changing!
"I...uh..." The awkward boy blinked as he realized what the man at the table was asking. Looking to be lost? Well, he supposed that he was looking for that, in a way. "The...l-latter, actually..." He flushed and scratched the back of his head, embarrassed. "Sorry..."

Faolan smiled, holding up a hand. "Nae need t' be sorry. Seems people are always findin' their way in here fae one reason or another. Feel free t' sit an' be as lost as you want fae as long as you like." He indicated the only other chair, a plush antique sort of thing across the table from him.

Shade seemed to calm a little and he gave the man behind the table a timid smile. "Thanks..." He took a seat on the chair and glanced about for a moment, his eyes wandering particularly to the items on the table. It looked like they were for...
"Do...you do fortune telling here...?" he asked, curious despite his nervousness. He recognized the cards, though only because he thought that he'd seen them in a video game that he'd played once.

A look of surprise crossed Shade's face - for free? Was that really alright? The boy nodded after a moment, clearly interested in the man's offer. "T-That'd be awesome! Thank you!" He flushed about a moment later, embarrassed by his own enthusiasm.
