Maybe I'll finally get myself on BC so I can stop having HORRID cramps. D:
I'm scared of the PAP smear. Supposedly the doctor yelled at my friend for not having one in 4 years. I haven't had one EVER. D:

From what I understand, the benefit of a pap blows any costs out of the water. A few seconds of pain for the security of knowing you don't have cancer? I'd say it's worth it. Not all people even have pain.

I have a friend who has some uterine issues, so she has to go in a lot, and she says it's really not so bad, just kind of awkward talking to somebody with their fingers and various tools up in you. But yeah, I think the benefits of making sure you're healthy and possibly getting a helpful medication outweigh a little scratch and some forced conversation. Good luck. biggrin

I had one this summer. It doesn't actually hurt, it just feels awkward.

I'd like to know if I'm healthy and all, I'm just kinda embarrassed about it all. D: I don't want to get yelled at. D:

Just stare blankly, for an inappropriate amount of time, then ask if they'd like to look inside your v****a or not.
Paps are not that bad. I really like my doctor. She performed my mom's hysterectomy, so I trust her.

This is what happened at mine
She's a really busy doctor so it took forever to get into the office and once i actually got in she told me she was leaving for 5 minutes so i could get undressed and stuff. So then i was sitting there under the sheet waiting for her to come back and it took almost 30 minutes!! Finally she comes and yeah it kind of hurts but nothing crazy. It only takes about a minute and a half to complete anyways.

I don't really see what the big deal about pap smears are. They feel a little weird and then they are over. The only reason I don't really enjoy it is because my gyno delivered me and she's always like 'I knew you when you were tiiiiiny!'
And of course the subtext is 'I pulled you out of your mom's v****a!'

Okay, let me get this out here:
Last time I had a doctor-person look down there was my pediatrician back in like 6th grade. Male. Freaked me the ******** out and caused me to ask my mother if I could change to a female doctor.
I really HATE having people down there. D: It freaks me out and makes me seriously uncomfortable.

I had surgery on my v****a cause I got these tiny littles skin tags that popped up cause I wore too tight of pants so it rubbed up in there.
So my Dr. Woo had to first freeze it with a needle (YES A NEEDLE IN MY v****a) then he CHOPPED IT OFF WITH SCISSORS then BURNT IT with dry ice to stop the bleeding. FUN.
I think I could handle a pap smear.
I should probably get one since I never have and I'm SEXUALLY ACTIVE.

Okay I'm back from the doctor!
Didn't do a pap smear, but took a bunch of blood because it looks like I might have a "chocolate cyst" on my left ovary as a result of endometriosis. I gotta go back in a week for the results.

I think I'd actually prefer a male gyno. Ladies seem to be too buddy-buddy about it. My lady gyno at home is just too comfortable with it. All the male doctors I've had have been a lot more respectful and professional than the female doctors I've had.
