Thaddeus was eager, more than eager he was extactic. This was going t be his first advanced student when it came to magic. He couldn't wait to see what the child was capable of as well see guide and offer suggestions. He had bundeled up since he had read back on Geia's magically prowress and it had focused primarily on ice magic.

Given that his class was in a dungeon like setting it could get cold very fast. he had gloves and a scarf and ear muffs...he was SET. Now he just had to wait for his student. Oh he was just so thrilled he couldn't stop pacing. He had brushed up on the elemental magic a bit practicing to make it snow and a random asortment...well...everything was dusted in a light covering of snow. Kinda like a welcome to your class sort of greeting.

Ligeia looked at the paper that gave directions to where he would be having his class before he found himself heading to the elevator, "Odd, having class in the basement." He murmured to Vorel. It wasn't that it was a bad thing it was just different from where he'd had class until now, different teacher as well but that excited him. He wanted to learn for a broad spectrum of people since that meant learning different techniques, learning in different manners, and taking it all to make himself better at what he did.

Vorel nodded in agreement as he trotted forward, moving a step quicker then Ligeia so that he could reach out and press the button that summoned the elevator with a claw before he looked over at his owl, "Its good though, you got the class you wanted." He sounded quite pleased to hear that his boy had been called by the teacher after putting in a request. The owl had been eager to have another of these classes and it was all he was talking about since getting word of it.

There was a ding as the elevator arrived and pair loaded up and headed for the basement. A short while later they were heading into the classroom that the teacher awaited them in. Ligeia looked over the man over, all bundled up... it made him that much more curious as to what they were doing today to see that. It made him feel a little under dressed as he was wearing a tank top with a little super deformed owl on it and a pair of light pants that looked as though they were made for sleeping in, "Mr Zyane? My name is Ligeia Solon and this is my partner Vorel." He said, introducing them two of them before started toward one of the interesting and comfortable looking seats, eager to begin. After he sat down Vorel did the same, plopping down in back of him to watch.

Thaddeus gave a smile his eyes widening slightly at the sight of the dragon. Truely magnificant creatures dragons, they didn't hold the same allure as some of the creatures he had attempted to summon in the past but they were pretty impressive.

"Greetings! Greeting Ligeia Solon! And to you as well Vorel!" He stated with a rather boisterous greeting as he came up to offer his hand to Geia to shake.

"I am Thaddues Zyane, I will be your magic instructor today. Please please I see your gentics helps to keeo you warm this is wonderful." He stated as he gestured to the frosty surrondings. In fact as he breathed out the air seemed to be growing chillier with every passing moment. You could see Zyane's breath now, and the temperature was dropping steadily by the second. There was a small glowing crystal on his desk it hovered in the air and it seemed to be what was controlling ther perma frost in the room.

"I read your file and I must say I am greatly impressed with your knowledge and I cannot wait to see you display your skill. Please please do an old man a kind gesture and show me what you can do?"

Ligeia gave a sound of surprise as the teacher came up to shake his hand in such an excited manner, never having had a teacher be so excited to see him before. Normally it was the reverse that was true, "Its very nice to meet you." He responded in a kind manner that was normal for him, giving a smile. He liked this man he thought to himself, his first impression having been a very good one.

While the owl noticed the cold neither he nor Vorel seemed in anyway bothered by it despite his minimal dress. He found himself flushing when he mentioned what the files on him said, "Thank you." He murmured, slightly embarrassed as he was never one for showing off. The most he ever did was to use his magic to do tricks to entertain the kids he looked after.

"Display my skill? Sure... what should I do? I have done a few things with my magic before." He said, thinking of all of the different ways he'd manipulated his magic. He held his hands up and first thing was first he called it up into his hands easily, the ice forming into shards that floated around his hands awaiting a command, "This is the first spell I was shown how to do, though it was only one shard back then but I am able to call up more now after a lot of practice."

Zyane watched him summon the ice shards and gave a crow of pleasure.
"Excellent! Just excellent, wow you have summoned quite a few!" He noted finding it all rather amazing work he didn't want to mimic or copy him but he felt the desire to summon his own ice as he loved comparing techniques.

"It comes rather fluidly to you then? Like breathing air?" He inquired with an arched eyebrow. "You seem the type to be magically intune. I am impressed Mr. Solon, quite impressed." He stated nodding his head, "Now since you know quite a bit of magic I will let you direc this class. What is it you wish to do? What do you want to learn?" He inquired after a moment.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 07, 2009 10:47 am

Ligeia gave a nod of his head, "Yes, it is just like you say." He agreed, he seemed to be able to call up the ice as well as manipulate its shape into any number of forms now and do it easily. It had taken years of practice to get to this point though. He started to flush at the compliments he got from the teacher and the fact that he was repeatedly saying he was impressed. So embarrassing...

"Ahh... Let me direct the class?" He seemed a little uncertain, that was a new one on him he thought. He tilted his head to the side, "I can't said for sure but... I... have been thinking, that I don't know exactly what I am capable of, you know? I just... I am a little nervous about trying to push myself to the limits on my own." He looked down to the shards that were whirling slowly around his hands and he brought his hands together so the ice would gather into one crystalline ball, "I was thinking it would be best to do so with a teacher present."

It helped that if he were in D-Corp when he did it if he pushed to hard at least there would be a doctor nearby.

Oh Thadduess couldn't help but give a grin. Yes he definantely liked this student, trying to see where he could go and pusht he limits and boundries! He could really enjoy classes with him.

"WELL, since you put it that way how about I direct it a teeny tiny bit." He stated offering a smidge with his fingers to indicate just how little he was going to butt in.

"Pushing your limits is one thing...you cuold per say see just how many ice shards you can summon, OR we can take that skill and change it into something else...hmmm? " He offered, as he summoned his own ice shard, though only five of them and then using the air around it helpt to move them around he could split them and shape them by using the cold air to cut into the ice. HE made a small icele man who was now poised on the palm of his hand.
"A neat trick though not very useful." HE chuckeled.

He gave a nod, glad that the teacher meant to help in the direction that the were going to go in. He watched, fascinated, as the man created a little man out of the ice and couldn't help but to laugh, "Nice." He murmured, "Its actually very useful for entertaining little ones. I babysit a lot and they love stuff like that."

He moved his hands to close them around the sphere in his hands, changing its shape again to turn it into a rose blossom in his hands to show the teacher. He then seemed to be debating as he starred into the flower, "I can change the shape into a few things, the shards, a flower, into a staff as well as I had a few classes on using a staff for a weapon though... I am not all that good when it comes to that sort of thing." He admitted, magic was where his heart lay as well as all of his talent much to the disappointment of his brother.

The idea of seeing how many shards he could summon though, that was interesting.

Thaddues allowed the little ice man to dance, it danced by breaking the joints and then freezing again. It was a nifty but tricky show since it manipulated not only the ice by the warmth in the immediate places like the leg joints. He allowed it to jump off his shoulder and then blossom ice like snowflake wings as it circeled around Geia before finally just exploding into a million tiny snow flakes.

"This class is entirely up to you. I am here to guide and offer suggestions. As to fighting..pfft...who needs to fight when you can rid yourself of your opponent before they get near?"
PostPosted: Mon Dec 07, 2009 11:27 am

This man was far different from the other magic teachers that he'd worked with he thought to himself as he watched the little ice man as he danced about only to explode into a puff of snow flakes that fell down around them in a pretty manner. He watched before giving a giggle, feeling as delighted as a child over being able to see such a display.

He looked back to the teacher before giving a nod, "I would like to try what you suggested, to see how many shards that I can call." It meant imbuing each with a small amount of his power to be able to keep them all under his control, the more he made the more power was being tapped into, and the more could call would help to show how deep his power reserves went.

The teacher's reassurances that fighting wasn't needed was a nice thought, a new thought since Ter seemed to think it so very important and even Chath did since he battled against even a dragon to better hone his skills... he found himself looking at Vorel, considering trying the same thing but he would try that later. For now he was working with his teacher, "So should I start to call for them one at a time? Or more at a time to begin with?" He asked of Zyane.

Zyane puttered about clapping his hands together to warm them before he nodded his head at his question.
"Yes yes please do try, I can keep count for you if you like.." He offered his smile broad on his face. Zyane was not a violent man, despite having dalied in the dark arts he only felt magic was needed to end violence. Quick and sudden. As he said why throw punches when you can immobolize your opponent faster with magic?

He went to stand beside Ligeia so he had the best view of his demonstration.
"If you need any help or suggestions let me know."
PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 9:53 am

Ligeia took a deep breath, letting his eyes close for a moment as he steadied his flow of magic before he head his hands in front of himself and drew upon the well of power that he had within him. There as a flicker of blue and white around his hands before more shards started to whirl around his hands again, a couple more popped into existence, then another single one, and a couple more after that... he was working on building them up slowly.

After a bit of time he moved them from spinning around his hands to spinning around him, making quite a gathering around his body. He gave a smiled as he looked at the shards as they gathered and he drew in a deep breath as he tried to bring forth more of them. He could feel a slight exhaustion taking him but he didn't give up. This would be where he would give up at home but not here, he was going to push himself harder, push to the limits, he wanted to know what he could do and this was the perfect place to do it since he was safe and being watched after by the teacher.

"Any suggestions are good by me." He murmured, not looking at Zyane as he was trying to keep his concentration up. It wasn't so much the fact that he had so many feeding off his power that was the problem, it was that it was hard to keep them all in order after they were added to the group.

Zyane was watching like a hawk, he found all manner of magic interesting, he watched at the owl summoned a bunch of the swirling crystals. Hmmm he was advanced, he wasn't even using words to strengthen the spell. But that also made the spell more prone to being interrupted as well.

Raising a hand he summoned the crystal that was on his desk to his hand.
"A footnote for next time perhaps lowering the temperature in the room before starting? The lower humidity would help to gather the ice faster. Less work for you." He offered though he whispered some words and the room seemed to be steadily plummeting into colder colder temperatures.

"Keep focused, don't try and spread your energy too thin."
PostPosted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 10:40 am

"Lowering the temperature? Could I do that?" He murmured, sounding curious about the idea. That would be a useful skill that was for sure. He would have to see about learning to do just that once he was done working on the spell at hand. Ligeia's eyes widened a little when his own breath started to show more and more in front of him as the room got colder, to a point where he even felt it a bit though Vorel seemed as though he didn't notice the change at all. Showed how tough his Frost really was he thought to himself before he once more focused completely on his spell casting.

He was for a moment glad that Zyane wasn't Barkhelm as the man wouldn't have been pleased knowing his mind had wandered for a moment. Not that he thought badly of the teacher, he rather liked all of the magic teachers he'd met thus far.

The owl lifted his hands up and moved to bring his energy out more, to coat the shards with it, to strengthen them which in turn made them a bit larger. He felt it a little more down, a bit like being up for a couple days straight. He wasn't ready to give up quite yet though.

The man nodded his head fingering the crystal in his hand,
"Yes yes of course you can, you see I have this object I have imbued with magic. It helps so that I can perform two forms of magic at once. It's a bit tricky to do, you could just lower the temperature around you instead. It would require a lot of focus to perform both spells at the same time. Perhaps next time we can see about learning to do that first before starting this other spell hmmm?" He offered the suggestion before he repressed a shiver.

Geia may not be effected by the cold but he sure was. He could feel his teeth start to chatter in his skull. He allowed the cyrstal to float away from him and linger hovering in the air around Geia. His gaze never wavered as he tried to warm up his hands without using magic.
