The best thing for intrested players can do right now is join the forums, the games not out yet but i hope to have an alpha release late december. New information is posted on the forums, and im looging my development week week

Player Kite When can we expect character sprites? the alpha will have sprites, but not the offical ones, they were already in the source im using. The beta will have a character creation, using sprites that will be in the final game. that is unless i get the sprites done before alpha, witch probslly wont happen.

i got a hint for a use of similar sprites but not quite i think the way gaia does its sprites would be a lot easier because they are almost 3-d but still in a 2-d format and the different items can be made allowing a almost unlimited character possabilites
but this is a segestion

I mean at the end. by cannonical do you mean actual characters from the games and shows available as sprites? if so the answer is no, i dont think thats fair and wed have like 100 kites or haseos there will be selected individuals who get to use cannonical sprites like mods and contest / event winners but they will not be avalible for normal users
