The striped female was a rogue, she wandered through lands far and wide. She had no designated home, no family and no one to be with. It got pretty lonely sometimes, she didn't know how to act with others very well...she learned to survive at an early age. Parentless she survived on bugs and rodents. She grew and taught herself to fish. When she met others she tried to be nice but she was so socially awkward they never stayed around long. She thought about joining a pride but none of them seemed to fit. She even heard of one with males keeping more than one female. How absurd, her mother wouldn't approve of that. She also heard they kidnapped other females and held them hostage. She thought it was repulsive and it made her want to rip out a guy's throat for it.

She watched all along the elephant grasses for any form of life, however she didn't spot anything near. She found herself a nice little climbing post and slunk her way up to laze about in it. It wasn't often you saw lions climbing things, but she was nearly an expert. Like a leopard she climbed trees to stay out of danger when she was little and it stuck so if she could cling to it, she would. with her smaller size it helped, but she was still bulky so it was still difficult. Her tail swayed in the air as she enjoyed the cool breeze and the pleasant day.

Another small lioness was nearby, even though the striped female seemed to have missed her. Rah'vyn was small and slender, and she was hiding in the grass. Moments before she hadn't been, but hearing the newcomer, she had ducked down and went still, smoky grey eyes darting around as she waited for the newcomer to appear.

Seeing it was another lion, she continued to lay in wait, to see what she'd do. Rah'vyn wasn't a fighter--not that she wouldn't fight, cause oh she would--she just preferred not to start one when it was unnecessary. Watching her climb up into the tree, the grey lioness almost laughed. It was too funny to watch.

Briseis loked about in the grasses, she thought she had heard something? She rumbled a little bit and saw something in the grasses. Her eyes widened. And like a cub she wiggled her but and pounced to the grasses. Following her nose and her memory, of where she saw it...it was someone! She smirked as she came nose to nose with another lioness. They were about the same size...she was just leaner. Bright blue eyes watched the other, she had some cool wing markings on her. She hadn't seen anyone quite like her but then again she never met too many others.

"Hello there," she smiled sweetly and sat on her haunches. "My name's Briseis...I live on my own," she blinked. "Oh, its nice to meet you," her tail twitched back and fourth behind her as she stared blankly at the other female with a big ol' grin that didn't seem to leave her maw. She was goofy, but she was also lonely and company never hurt anyone.

Rah'vyn froze. Damn. laughing had been a bad idea.

Backing up, she was getting ready to turn and dart away, but she'd misjudged the distance. Apparently she was closer to the tree than she had thought, and the other lioness had caught up with her quickly--and got right in her face. A snarl rose in her throat, and she quickly took a step or two back.

"It would be wise of you to give strangers their space."

The female face twisted into confused for a minute but then her cheery grin returned. "Whats your name?" she inquired. She was still young for a lioness. "What's space?" she looked at her blankly. "It makes no sense...I thought space was beyond the clouds, or at least thats what someone told me. It's where the shiney dots are." she grinned. "The shiney things make shapes...kinda like the clouds." She beamed. She thought she was smart, she didn't know how ignorant she sounded. She never really learned. She only absorbed information like a sponge...or in some cases one ear and out the other.

She took her gaze off the lioness and looked at the horizon. She scented wildebeast...she still hadn't been able to bring down an adult wildebeast by herself. There horns got in the way, she had gotten gouged once and luckily there was a healer nearby. Her stomach rumbled but she ignored it, it wasnt often she met others. She was going to cherish this.

Rah'vyn watched her, a sneer growing across her features the more she spoke. Was she daft? "Not that kind of space," she snapped. "Personal space. As in, don't in other people's faces, or you might get bitten." Like Rah'vyn wanted to do.

She tilted her head, "Why would you bite someone in the face, thats just silly...and not nice. Mother always said not to bite." Her face grimaced thinking about her dead mother. She flicked her tail against the grass watching the female intently. "What's yer name?" she inquired again. She was a persistant one, "You haven't mentioned it yet." Her pleasant smile softened. Briseis intentions were genuine. "You wouldn't happen to be hungry would you?"

"That's my very point," she muttered. "When you meet someone, you don't know if they're nice or not." Shaking her head, she frowned at the way Briseis was staring at her. Was there something wrong with her? For gods' sake, it seemed like there was something wrong with everyone she met here.

"My name is Rah'vyn," she said, her own tail flicking, but out of annoyance on her part. "And no. I am not."

"Oh..." she blinked. Her mouth twisted, "I've met nice lions so far," she smiled. "The only person that chased me killed mother and he's dead." She admitted. It was true, he was eaten by crocodiles...it was a rather nasty scene. Her dialect was still broken, after all she only communicated every once in awhile. "Rah'vyn...pretty...but strong," she nodded. "Mother would like you. I like you." She smiled softly.

Her smile softened, "Are you hungry?" She looked back to the wieldbeast herd in the distance...it seemed like a good idea to her.

"Well, you're very lucky then," she murmured. She almost wished someone had. If she was certain she could take the other female, she might have done it.

"Ahem. Thank you." She frowned a bit, as she asked yet again if she was hungry, following her gaze. "You asked that already. And I said no."

"Oh...sorry," she laughed nervously. "Okay," she acted almost like a juvenile at some points, but she was capable of having intelligent conversations. After all she spent half her life exploring. "Do you belong anywhere? Like a pride?" She blinked as she started to walked around nervously...somewhat getting distracted by a blue beetle that almost glittered in the sunlight. She could usually never resist sparkly objects...

"Your welcome!" she replied in a chipper tone.

Rah'vyn watched her, nose wrinkling a little bit. "No, I live alone." Her eyes went to the beetle, then back to Briseis. She didn't like others, and usually others didn't like her. She didn't care though; she liked it that way.

"What about you. Do you live in a pride?"

"Nope...I don't usually get a long with others..." she replied softly. "Or they have other plans, or prides I don't like...did you know theres one where male's have mates with more than one female? Mother would have a fit about that...heard there are some pretty mean ones too...I guess you meant those strangers." She started rambling as she usually did. "I try to stay away from most just cause I know its safer and what not...but it still gets lonely, y'know?" she half smiled as her tail flicked behind her as if it were a pendulam.

"I suppose," she said. She really didn't feel the same. Being around others was usually an annoyance, more than anything. An annoyance she didn't want or enjoy.

The beetle moved and she dropped her paw on top of it, squishing it. "I suppose that is a good idea. Its better to play it safe."

Briseis watched as she squished the bug, it was more entrancing seeing as the guts were lime green she put a paw in it and started mushing it in between her paws. She nodded, "Well when you're on your own you kind of have to play it safe...there are lots of dangers out there."

"So what do you do for fun? Aside from squish bugs?" she smirked.

Her nose wrinkled as she watched the other lioness /play/ with the bug's guts. That was more than a little disgusting. it was one thing to kill the bug, another to do that.

Her eyes darted up to Briseis' face as she started to talk. Was this girl a walking contradiction? Walking up to a stranger and getting right up in their face was by no means playing it safe. It was downright dangerous, if you asked her. Stupid and dangerous.

"I do whatever I feel like doing at the time." It was true. With no pride, family or friends, Rah'vyn could do whatever she wanted, and at her
leisure.

"Sounds like me...I like climbin' and sleeping." she grinned. She was a walking contradiction, more over she was very indecisive. Her bright blue eyes watched the darker female. "Your a real talker, y'know." she smiled again trying to find something else that caught her attention. There was nothing really for a lion to do, except eat, sleep, kill s**t, sleep some more, and maybe go ransack a male but really she got quite bored. The lioness was more promiscuous than she put on.

"Want to go to the river or something?" she asked hopefully.

"I could see that," Ravyn said with an air of dispproval. Lions didn't climb trees, what was wrong with this one? Lions were proud creatures, they didn't need to hide up in the tree tops. This silly girl was daft. If she was so inclined to do such things, she would have rolled her eyes right then. Especially at the talker comment.

"Why do you want to go to the river?"
