Zac was studying the results of his last plan, it had worked better than most, the notecards marginally helpful, water solubility exceptionally effective.
Targets, not AS effective but they were at least bickering and had 'postured' at each other like angry roosters for some time, and continued to do so in the halls.
While it had not been the -desired- result he was hoping, against hope he could continue to fuel their little war. Maybe the girlfriend could be dragged into this, he tapped his chin thoughtfully and leaned back in the chair.
Where -had- Dem gotten off to, should he have been worried? Come to think of it...when had he gone?
He glanced around the room and like he might be somewhere he'd just missed, it wouldn't surprise him to see him hiding under the bed with glow sticks so they would work better.

While hiding under the bed (or in the closet!) for a mini glowstick rave would have been something the blonde would do without a second thought, neither hiding place contained one Demy Wright. In fact, the room had been rather devoid of the hyperactive schoolboy for the majority of the day.
Until now, that is.
When Z had returned to his studies, the door slooooowly creeped open and in tip-toed the missing Demy himself. With an almost manic grin spread across his face, the boy snuck closer and close to his unsuspecting prey.
And when he was right behind the other boy, he whipped something silver and shiny around Z's neck and fastened it with a CLICK.

he reached for the flash of silver that had flashed in front of his face.
"Dem?!" he said startled "What are you..."
Whatthehell!?
Chain!?

"Hey Z!"
And then the world was SPINNING as Demy snagged the chair Z was sitting on and quickly turning the shorter boy to look at him.
"I gotcha a present!"
Here he reached out and poked a small silver padlock, locking together a piece of chain that was -just- tight enough around Z's neck to prevent removal by pulling it over his head.
"It's even engraved!"
Oh yes, he was rather proud of that half a heart he had engraved into the little padlock.

"Um..." he said hesitantly fingering it.
there had to be a trick to get this thing off...right?
"its, awesome!, but I don't think I can ever get it -off-?" he glanced up and then back at it.
Was that a broken heart? What the...ohgod. The 'date'... dear god was this some kind of engagement padlock?!

Grinning more. Grinning proudly. Oh yes Z, this was totally like an engage---no wait, no it wasn't! This was more along the lines of those best friends forever necklaces where each person kept one half.
Though if that was the case....
"This opens it!"
Demy poked at a similar chain around his neck, though instead of big padlock, his had a teensy tiny one, and a key.
"Key opens yours...but uh, I don't have the key to mine anymore. That's okay! I don't want to remove it anyway."

"...ah" he said with dawning comprehension, and tilted his head. "Why is mine bigger?" he said suspicious of a hight joke, after all if he was wearing a 'dem' long and Dem was wearing a 'z' lock.
Not that he'd take -offense- to that, nope. Not at all. Mostly.

"Because I just needed a tiny lock to hold my chain together, the key is the important part of mine! It opens -your- padlock, which is the important part of your necklace! Get it man? Pretty neat huh??"
He was practically dancing in joy. CLEARLY this was an awesome development in their relationship right? It wasn't the typical necklaces that formed a heart, but it still got the point across. Or so -he- thought at least. The whole Z being unable to take off the necklace without Demy's key was a cute touch.

"Oh.." he said though he didn't -quite- get it.
It was, almost cute except that he'd have to steal Dem's necklace if he EVER wanted his off, or find a BOLT cutter, but he honestly didn't want one near his neck. Ever.
"Thank you?" He blinked... "its um...did you make this ...star-heart bit yourself?"
he twisted it to try and look.
Well, at least it wasn't utterly out of place with what he preferred to -wear-... but he wasn't looking forward to explaining it to his MOTHER should she show up.
Then again when was -that-.

And stealing Demy's necklace would mean...well stealing Demy himself, because without his own key there was no way he could take off his necklace either. That key was SO lost by now too. Poor Z.
"I called in a favor!"
Which wasn't surprising. The blonde had enough people in his phone's contact list to do just about anything.
"And you're welcome man, I'm glad you like it!"
By now Demy had plopped on the floor beside Z's chair, still happily grinning at the other.

I have just been locked into a length of chain by my room-mate. And the only way to get it off is to invade his personal space so closely it would be not only offensive, it would be beyond 'snuggling'... he's as good as lost both keys.
Thought Z staring down at the lock.
"...so, what brought this on?" he asked, morbidly curious about what he'd been roped into. God he had to learn to have better spacial awareness when he was working. ((like that was going to happen))

"Well I WAS just gonna do one of those friends forever kinda necklaces, you know, the heart shaped ones? And each person takes a half? But man that wasn't...I dunno...us? So I racked my brain and came up with something ten times cooler!"
Grinning still he gestured between both Z's necklace and his own. It was starting to reek of a mad man's plan, but he really WAS proud of it!
"Lock seemed to go with your outfit, and key let me get a neat star-shaped key, so it worked out! ...Right Z?"
For a moment he looked genuinely worried.
"You...really do like it, right?"
Now he was biting on his lip, those acid green eyes boring up into the other's soul. Cmoooon man, he had to like it! It was a totally awesome gift afterall!

What was he supposed to say? thank you for padlocking my neck???
Could have been worse... way worse. Could have been barbed wire.
...oh god he was doing that Eye thing again that made him feel all squirmy.

The gaze of soul-boring doom quickly ended, and Demy was up on his feet and moving around the dormroom again.
"Glad you like it Z-man! So....whatcha up to?"
He did an about face in the middle of the room, tilting his head slightly as he eyed the other. Plans again huh? Always plans with the Z-man.

"Mm... actually mostly reviewing how the last one went, the cards, seemed to work really well?" He let the end of it turn into a question for confirmation.
I mean it didn't work out quite like I hoped but their fighting, just not -fists-."
He said and trailed off expecting to look up to an utterly glazed expression.
