Does anyone know what's happened to Mighty? He's just completely vanished from the games, and I've heard rumours that his creator left Sonic Team and took the copyrights for the character with him. So, does anyone here know what's happened to Mighty? IMO he's the best of the Chaotix Crew, they can't just leave him out!

I've played him in Sonic the Fighters and I know he's one of the Chaotix, but that's it. I'm sure they'll be some folk here who'll have a bit more info for you, though. DW

Well... he was in Segasonic before Chaotix, I think. Maybe that's why.

I can almost say with 100% confidense that the thing about him being copyright to someone who left is false. But yeah, he was in SegaSonic (very awesome, but strange game) before Chaotix, along with that uh.. Squirrel guy, Ray. I think he hasn't been used as much because he is too similar to Sonic. And when it came down to Sonic Heroes, choosing between Mighty and Espio for the Team Runner ended with Espio because he's a bit more unique in terms of character. Who knows, we might see him again soon, rumors also say there's a good chance Nack will be in an upcoming title too.

Definately true about Mighty being too similar to Sonic, in Chaotix he was used instead of Sonic (which explains why he is the top of all menus etc and Knuckles is second).
All he has that Sonic doesn't is the wall-jump ability, which could easily be accomedated by Espio the wall-sticking Chameleon, and noting his Triangle Jump in Heroes it seems that's what's happened. He has nothing to add to the series at all, so it's no shock that he'd be ignored when new releases come out.
Personally I'm thankful, with the 2 super Sonic hedgehogs and the metal one all breaking the sound barrier, there's no more room for clones. Personally, I'm hoping the anti-hero and the villain hedgehogs will take care of the other one for good so we can stop having so many Sonic's in the series.
I begrudgingly allow Blaze, as she's the Sonic of an alternate dimension, but Mighty has no excuse.

Anyway, I've never actually played Chaotix or Arcade, so I don't know if this is just something the Archie folks came up with--But isn't Mighty supposed to have been a strong man? It would have made more sense to make him the muscle of Team Chaotix instead of Vector in that case.

I don't know about Archie, but that was certainly the case in the Fleetway comics (it would also explain the name). If I remember correctly, Vector was more the brains in those comics, but maybe they chose to use him for greater visual effect. (they still should have used Mighty though, he's cooler and Vector's Sonic Heroes voice just went right through me!)

He appeared in the background of issue 159 of sonic the hedgehog last month, along with the rest chaotix fighting off the metal sonic army.

Oh Mighty, where are you. Was hoping to see you on Sonic Heroes.
Maybe he can turn back with that Sonic Team poll?

I made up this idea that Mighty got sent to Blaze's dimension out of nowhere. Just an idea/thought/imagination/ you know what I mean?

I suppose they ousted Mighty cuz of the accusations that he's just a recycled Sonic sprite....

I think the reason Mighty isn't around any more is that his creator retained the rights to the character, and then left SEGA.

I'll have to try looking something up - I'd be very surprised if Sega'd be that sloppy about their contracted copyrights with even a minor character.
