Finally, it was time for the weekend- and shopping!
About damn time! The weekend hadn't come soon enough. Five days, she had to wait. Complete and utter torture, that's was it was. If she had her way, she would have already gone shopping and have been done with it a long long time ago! ... But her teachers had been hellishly persistent in keeping her for detention. "Tch!" She muttered in annoyance as she reflected back on the events. . Infamous for her pranks (and ditching records) Varete had become quite a novelty among the teachers of Meadow-view. Barely a day at school, and already she had been causing trouble.
But it wasn't her fault, certainly. The teacher should have never left her door open! Incidentally, the ferret had followed her to class. (From there on out, it was the ferret's fault. After all, she wasn't responsible for any actions besides her own.) The ferret had sneaked in and stole the lady's garter stockings. The class had found it a hilarity, to discover their battleax of a teacher indulging in such (an obviously luxurious and pleasurable) garment. It was really too bad that her only mistake was in saving the ferret from the old lady's rampage- and receiveing ******** detention for it.
And she had been forced to stay there. Everyday, FOR A WEEK. Sadly, she would have ditched if the teacher hadn't been so persistent in hunting her down! No doubt, her teacher would have found an excuse for her to serve punishment over the weekend. But that wasn't about to happen, if she had anything to say about it...
And trust her, she had said more then a few things. A star seed here, money there, jewelry somewhere.. ♪ But that wasn't important.
The point here was to shop. Shopping was a vitally important aspect of life. Anyone who thought otherwise was CRAZY. Sadly, the only problem here was the time. She had arrived at the mall promptly on time of the opening- yet the store didn't think it so. The store had taken it's crazy sweet time in opening, forcing her to wait an extra 20 minutes. With a sound of impatience, she leaned against the wall with her arms crossed to her chest. She was not particularly pleased, and no doubt her face reflected it. Patience was definitely not her strong point.
(Varete is visiting the mall for shopping but it kinda deviated away from that, sorry. xDD;;)

Rea, like Varette, had arrived early that day, looking disinterested as she approached the window, noting how it was closed with a slightly dark look. The fact that they had not opened yet bothered her, their incompetence apparent to the girl. Incompetence irked her. She could feel the feeling of annoyance rise a little, starting to furrow her eyebrows, although she tried to suppress. It was still early. Perhaps it wouldn't take to long. Setting her backpack down on the concrete, she stared idly inside the windows, pondering nothing in particular.
Truth be told, she wasn't much for shopping, something that was completely blasphemous for a 'Crystal Girl.' Shopping was one of those things that could go either way for her -- with Eve there, it could be enjoyable, following her around and laughing as they tried on clothes, or pointed out things in a window display. Shopping with more than two other people was less enjoyable, and often unpleasant, as she tended to keep to herself in larger crowds of people, even more so if she didn't know them very well. Shopping by herself was neither exciting nor unpleasant, not a chore or a hobby -- it was something that needed to be done, and she did it as quickly and with as little stress as possible.
On that day, the eldest Marshall girl had decided it was high time she go christmas shopping, despite how the days had just recently segued into December. She was a little annoyed at herself for waiting this long -- usually she had her gifts already bought by the start of November. To be fair, she had quite a few more friends than she had last year, not the least of which being her sweet and kindhearted roommate. She was the real reason Rea was going alone to the store that day -- any other time, and Eve and she would be attached at the hip, the blonde girl 'dragging' her around happily (if you could call it that -- she went along more than willingly.) She couldn't exactly buy gifts for her if she was right there watching. Although it would be handy in knowing exactly what she wanted...
Exhaling in a silent sigh, the strawberry blonde girl shifted as she noticed another standing in front of the shop, looking impatient and unhappy -- a shame, considering how pretty she was. Her long blonde hair especially impressed her. Still, the sour expression kept her from letting her eyes settle on her for too long, afraid of invoking her wrath. Personally, she didn't blame her. She had gotten there early hoping to get out early. With how the employees were moving, it would be a wonder if they ever got out. Shifting her blue green eyes back to the girl, she tried to keep her attention to herself, trying to stay patient as they waited.

Taking note of the chilly bite in the air, Varete pulled her jacket closer to herself. Why was it so cold? She thought to herself, annoyed with the weather conditions. "It's too damn cold for to do anything.." She mumbled to herself, as she rubbed her hands against her arms. Stupid weather, she thought to herself with vehemence. Of course, it wasn't the weather's fault that she was freezing-- but she'd prefer to think it was rather then the fact that she had grabbed a jacket much too thin to provide warmth for herself. But hey, at least she looked good. Despite the fact that she didn't feel that good at the moment.
Trying to focus on something OTHER then the cold, Varete tried to focus her concentration upon some of the other customers nearby. Unfortunately, all she saw was the usual crowd- business men walking by, old people reminiscing, women sipping their teas and coffees, and other teenage girls gossiping. Utterly disappointing.
Just as she was about lower her gaze, she met the eyes of another for a brief second before it turned away. "Eh?" Surprised, Varete shook her head in disbelief. She wasn't used to being ignored. But it wasn't as if they knew each other, so it was perfectly justifiable.. or so common sense told her.
But that wasn't how Varete felt.
In a few quick strides, she reached the girl's position. Noticing the girl's distracted manner, she sneaked up behind the girl with ease. She was tempted to yell at a BOO, but that would have been a lame-a** greeting as hell. (If she was ever caught doing that, she'd would have died on the spot) Instead, she opted for a polite greeting instead. Tapping the girl lightly on the shoulder, she gave the girl a cheerful smile.
"Having fun?" She asked, with a touch of amusement to her tone. She knew the answer-- but she just couldn't help but to ask... or tease.

It's hard to tell what Rea would have done, had Varete yelled 'boo.' In fact, it probably would depend on her mood what she would do, and at that moment, she probably would have just glared at the blonde. But who knew, it was entirely possible she could have lashed out and punched her on reflex. But in the end, it didn't really matter, because the pretty blonde decided to be benevolent, and merely tapped her on the shoulder.
'Having fun?'
As it was, Rea jumped a little anyway, so distracted with her thoughts that she not only hadn't realized that Varete had crept up behind her so stealthily, but hadn't realized she had been noticed at all. Turning to face the other girl, she gave her a mildly flat look, although it was more a scoffing at herself than anything else. "No," She replied, then, realizing that it was a rather short and rude response, continued, "I wanted to get out of here at a decent hour. But they're not even open yet."
Shoving her hands into her pockets, she eyed the girl a little more, now that she had the excuse. She really was pretty, something any girl would be envious of. But Rea was the type to more admire it, usually from afar. Politely, of course.
"Are you?"

Ah. A cold beauty, Varete observed with amusement and surprise. Obviously, the girl didn't welcome her intrusion. But it wasn't as if the girl had ignored (or punched) her either. (Although if she had, she would have been in quite for the surprise. Varete was no doll herself!)
But she wasn't about to be detered by the girl's rudeness. She was quite rude herself, so it would have been absolutely ridiculous if she couldn't handle a little attitude.
"Am I? Not particularly." She said in a wry tone, as she gestured to the store behind them. That was an absolutely idiotic question but she would allow that the question was asked out of the sake of politeness. If it were otherwise, she would be sorely disappointed.
But unlike the other girl, she wasn't one for politeness. "Christmas shopping for someone special?" She asked, with a teasing smile. A girl like her would have someone of course. (Never mind the fact that the question was totally personal. Privacy was not part of her vocabulary, she would admit proudly.)
While she waited for the other girl's answer, she kept a close eye on the store behind her. Out of the corner of her eyes, she spied the clerk unlock the store's doors. Finally. She thought to herself both irritated and relieved. "About time. Let's go in." It was more of a declaration then an invitation, a sign that she was clealy pulling the other girl into her pace.
Twirling on her heels, she disappeared into the store.

Rea made a face, expression flatting when Varete answered wryly to the same question she had asked Rea not moments before, and even more so when she asked the personal question, quirking an eyebrow and watching her in a curious manner.
"I'm Christmas shopping for a lot of special someones," she responded cryptically, smiling just a little, feeling as if she had just ranked herself higher in some quiet same they were playing. She wasn't sure what the girl was trying to pull, but it was kind of growing on her.
Bringing her eyes back to the doors behind her, she gave a relieved sigh when the clerk finally opened the doors -- short lived, as Varete spoke up again. Let's go in? The statement threw her off guard, leaving the short-haired Crystal girl standing there in the cold, while the other turned (prettily, she might add) on her heal and waltzed into the store. Varete made it sound like they were going in together. Rea gave the door where the girl had disappeared a curious look, suspicious, but followed her anyway, picking up her stuff and giving a little half-skip to catch up, shaking the snow from her boots as she stepped into the warmer store.
Inside, the place was mostly empty, with the exception of the early workers and a few scattered shoppers. And yet the mysterious conversationalist had disappeared. For a few seconds, Rea seemed to fumble a little, looking first left, then right, trying to find any trace of her. So much for having the upper hand. Varete - 2; Rea - 1
