Okay, here's my story.
I was with my band yesterday, Swords On Beaver Creek, and we were working ona a song of ours. Well, thing is, trying to make a guitar line for the song was a b***h. We're a ska band, and I don't know too many chords, I only know a lot of 5th chords, and that's not working. So, I could sue some help with some Ska-style chords I could use.
Also, I've relaized the few chords I know, I have a bit of a problem when it comes to large movement amongst my fingers. Like moving my 1st finger from E to b, and the 2nd finger from d to a, at the same time. I'd blame my dyslexia, but I think I just need more chording practice.

Major and minor barre chords. 7th chords wouldn't be out of the question either I don't think.

xp Yeah, we've got a sense of humor. But, um, when I say I don't know chords, I mean that. So, helpful as you guys are being, and I apreciate it, I don't know what open air chords, or basic chords are. I really only know power chords are called 5th chords.

try learning some barre chords. That will probably help you out with the sound you are trying to get all though I don't really know too much about ska.
