The sun glimmered into Kaishori's yellow eyes as she stretched out under a tree. She had taken residence under it just outside the pride lands that she dreamed of making her home. It had hurt her pride when she had lost her last duel, but she knew that her opponent was skillful and professional, not needlessly injuring her. While she still sustained some minor injuries, she limped away with a worthwhile experience, and it was then that the young lioness learned of what was expected of her if she truly wished to be a part of this pride. She yawned once as she rolled over onto her stomach, kneading the ground in front of her a bit before rising. Her tail flicked back and forth, and she took in a deep breath.
Now on her paws, Kaishori stared straight out for a moment, gazing over the path she was about to take. A smile crossed her face, and her paws began to move forward in a trot. She was anxious, and her stomach churned as she drew nearer and nearer to the border of the pride lands. The scenery was very familiar, as this was the area she entered last. Flicking her ears up, she heard the faint sound of pawsteps heading towards her. Her nostrils flared, and she anticipated the lion that would come to meet her.

The border wasn't somewhere Shula usually went, but it seemed logical to visit now and then. She was supposed to be a warrior, she had to do SOME fighting! Life wasn't all about dancing! It was for this reason, that she found herself staring a the darker red lioness. It was her first time meeting a joining rogue. Her father had told her about the lioness, and that she had failed her last duel to join. Now it was Shula's turn... And her first duel.
Padding down the dune, Shula's ears were trained towards the other lion. "Hey! Are you Kaishori?" She looked around a moment, violet eyes shining. They soon returned to the other lion, watching her, waiting. Her body tensed slightly, ready in case this was the lion she sought, and the duel could begin.

Kaishori stood straight and tensed as the other lioness came into view. She was almost happy that it was a lioness instead of a lion this time, as she wouldn't feel as small standing against her. "Yes, I am." She gulped as she spoke. So word had gotten around of her. The thought made her smile, and she couldn't wait to meet those in the pride that had spread her name around.
She knew that it was time to begin. This time, though, she was unsure as to whether or not who was going to make the first move. It seemed different this time, somehow, and she spread her paws, swaying a bit as her tail drifted from side to side. She decided to wait, and see what the other lioness was going to do. Maybe waiting would work out better for her this time than it did last time.

Shula took a few breaths, watching the lioness. This was her... The lion she needed to duel... After a few deep gulps of air, she charged forward. No warning... No preparation... It was a good way to start, she figured. Shula minded to keep her claws sheathed, though, not wanting to cause BAD injury. That wouldn't be good form... And she'd seen how bloody Kosuke and her father walked away from their duels.
Sand pounding under her paws, Shula launched at the other lioness. When she felt her paws connect, she jumped away, landing some feet away. Slowly she turned back, watching, waiting, tail curling in an almost taunting way to draw attack.

Kaishori's eyes tightened as she watched the other lioness run towards her. She knew that she just had to brace herself and get through the first attack. The muscles in her legs were tenced, and she stiffened her neck, all to avoid being knocked over or sustaining and serious injury. She saw the movement, and quickly felt the blow that came with it. It left a sore spot, that was for certain, but it didn't knock her down, and that's all she could ask for. The last time she didn't take precautions about the attack of her opponent, she ended up limping away from the duel.
Her eyes followed the lioness, her yellow stripe making it seem like she was running away from her faster. It seemed like a small poof of dirt swirled around as she turned, and Kaishori loosened her joints for a moment, trying to sooth the residule pain that lasted from the swipe.
