 Swiftwind was enjoying the sunny day in D'ob while traveling between the various meadows and patches of trees. He had no particular place to go and so had decided to just wander for a bit. He flew above a patch of tree getting an eagles eye view of the immediate area. Well nothing of particular interest had caught his attention so he kept going. Soon he found a small pond that he could stop and drink from. Tipping his wings he flew down to the relatively small meadow. Landing softly he tucked his wings against his body and walked to the pond. Dipping his head down he took a long drink of the cool and refreshing water. This was just what he needed. He would stay here a little while to rest before continuing. He began to wander around the meadow a bit, stopping here and there to take a bit of lush grass.

 Tanaris thought he hear hoofbeat's nearby but was far to weary to lift his head and check. He had stopped his flight from the two reya hen his wing join had started to protest the actions a bit to much for him to handle. upon landing he had found a darkened place in the shade of a tree clump alongside the meadow and lay down to rest.
Since then he'd been falling in and out of weary sleep as his body attempted to recooperate, the wounds on his legs were angry and painful but he hoped they would recover on their own after a while...though it honestly didn't matter, Tanaris didn't have the medical no how to make a difference one way or another even if they couldn't.
And anyways - he might be getting ahead of himself if those hoofbeats meant the Reya and the his blue filly had found him again - he didn't think he had it in him to rally for another fight. Best he figured..to just stay very still and very quiet.

Swfitwind stopped for a moment. He could have almost swore he saw something move in the nearby trees. Might have been a Rit he supposed, those little creatures were all over the place. So he went back to grazing but continued towards the spot where he had seen the movement just to check it out.
Taking a mouth full of grass his eyes studied the dark patch within the trees more closely. At first he could see nothing of suspicion. Then there seemed to be a hint of red in the grass. How odd, there was no red colored fruit in the area. He stepped closer. It looked like...blood. He eyes followed the small trail to the dark spot in the trees. He cautiously moved forward. It could have just been the result of a Canis hunting it prey but it was best to check this things out.
Finally his eyes landed upon the one who's blood was spilled. The grey Jala stallion lay hidden in the tree, clearly trying to hide. Swiftwind got one good look at his injuries and immediately felt his heart drop. What had happened to this poor stallion. He took a slow step forward, he didn't want to scare the Jala. "What happened to you?" He said in a soft voice, letting the other stallion know he posed no threat.

Tanaris held his breath as the hoof beats got closer, but it soon became apparent that whomever it was wasn't about to go away and he cracked an eye open with a heavy sigh just as the other stallion spoke, by the tone of his voice - and the fact he hadn't yet tried to take advantage of a wounded creature Tanaris decided this one wasn't a threat for the moment. Now...how to answer his question, typically Tanaris would come up with some witty reply to state that obviously he had been in a fight of some sort..but the grey stallion just wasn't feeling up to that at the moment and went with the easiest course of action. The truth.
"Saved a foal from a couple of Reya, got beat up in the process" He explained in a somewhat gruff voice, Tanaris wasn't typically a cranky stallion - but being wounded and vulnerable tended to make him a bit ill-tempered, he could hardly regret what had happened however - he was pretty sure the colt had managed to get away and that was the most important thing.

Swiftwind took another look at the injured stallion and thought that 'got beat up' was quite the understatement. He had to do something to help, it wasn't in his nature to leave injured creatures to fend for themselves. "You're very lucky to have gotten away." He told the Jala before glancing around the area. At least the stallion was well hidden should his attackers be looking for him.
"I'm Swiftwind." He told the other as he knelt down to closer inspect the wounds on his legs. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." The one gash was worse than the other. They would both heal but it would be some time before the stallion was back on his hooves if he just waited it out.

Tanaris had to bite back an instinctual 'gee you think so?!?' remark to the stallions comment about his luck on escaping, he's just trying to be friendly and help you out some the grey stallion reminded himself with a mental scolding. Tanaris sighed slightly - he had a right to be angry he thought...there had been a reason he'd been flying through that particular area, but he couldn't very well get to his destination now. Perhaps he would be able to heal in time, though realistically he had to admit that was probably an unattainable goal.
"Barely did" was the remark he finally gave the other stallion as he knelt down, Tanaris flicked an ear slightly but otherwise didn't react, Swiftwind as he called himself seemed perfectly sane unlike the two Reya he'd encountered who clearly had serious mental problems "Tanaris, I'd say its a pleasure to meet you..but under the circumstances.." he confessed with a slight chuckle.

He chuckled as well. Most Nequus wouldn't be so willing to joke while in such a condition but Tanaris didn't seem like an average Nequus. "Well Tanaris, you certainly have got a nasty gouge on that leg. It will heal, in time, but it will be a while." Swiftwind got back to his feet to take another look around the area. He knew of plants that grew in D'ob that could aid in the healing process. All he had to do was...ah there was one. "Stay still. I will be right back."
Trotting off into the trees Swiftwind went over to the certain tree he had been thinking off. Stripping off a large leaf he would use to hold the sap. He took a step back and dug his horn deep into the bark. Pulling it out the deep orange colored sap began to slowly ooze down the tree. Using the leaf he wiped a good amount of the stuff on the leaf before heading back to Tanaris.
He knelt down again, holding the sap coating leaf in his teeth. "I'm sorry, but this is going to hurt...a lot. But it will speed up the healing and fight off infection." He quickly placed the leaf over the deepest cut on the stallions leg and before Tanaris could move he placed a hoof on the leaf to hold it in place and force the sap into the deepest part of the wound.

Tanaris already knew about the terrible gash in his leg - he'd been there when it happened thank you very much, though to be honest he wasn't medically minded enough to know more then it was deep and it hurt. "Yes well...I doubt I'd get far even if I didn't feel like listening" Tanaris remarked - mostly to himself considering Swiftwind had already wandered off towards...what was he doing over there anyways? a tree? How on earth was a tree going to help him out, their leaves weren't even nutritious enough to bother eating for the most part.
Tanaris didn't have long to think that fact over as Swiftwind returned rather quickly with an oozing nasty looking leaf, Tanaris didn't care if that leaf was the miracle cure to end all miracle cures there was no way he was about to eat that leaf, he opened his maw to tell Swiftwind that when the other stallion spoke first. "Oh how lovely more....BY THE MOONS!! THAT STINGS!" Tanaris shouted at Swiftwind as the stallion slapped the leaf into place and then to make matters worse went and pushed the poultice in deeper. His shout trailed off ino a string of under breath curses.

"It stings but only for a little while. I assure you it will help in the long run. A cut like that takes far too long to heal on its own." He said as he lifted his hoof from the leaf. "You will need to keep that on a bit longer. Though the stinging will stop shortly."
He laid down, not only to get into a more comfortable position but also so that he could be eye to eye with Tanaris. No point in having the other stallion waste his energy by looking up at him. "This foal that you saved. Did it make it away to safety?" He asked. Should the foal still be in danger he would need to go looking for it.

Well that was certainly a relief Tanaris thought as Swiftwind assured him that the stinging would subside quickly - and it did seem to be doing so even as they spoke, though it couldn't happen fas enough as far as Tanaris was concerned. He snorted a little as the stallion removed his hoof and lay down close by - which was also a relief since he no longer had to tip his head back to look at him while speaking.
His question as an important one and Tanaris cast his mind back to the incident, he recalled the purple colt making it back into the trees before loosing sight of him - and the fight had gone on for a lengthy while afterwards so he was certain the colt had a good head start on the two reya. But that was about all he could guarantee . "He ran into the tree's...I expect in the direction of his parents and he certainly had a good head start - I kept the Reya busy for quite a while, but I feared circling back to make sure he made it in case the Reya were following me"

"Good to hear he got away. Although I will keep my eye out for in just in case." He told Tanaris. He wouldn't ignore a foal in need of help no matter what. "So where were you headed when you ran into those Reya? If you don't mind me asking." Swiftwind thought that perhaps a little friendly conversation could keep Tanaris' mind on something other than his injuries.
He would have asked exactly why these Reya were after the foal but he didn't want to have Tanaris think about that right now. That was a question he could ask later.

Tanaris nodded his head slightly in agreement with Swiftwind - even forgetting the part here it was always worthwhile to save a foal Tanaris would have been in an even worse temper if his intervention had been been for nothing. "Might be wise...I had intended to go back and check myself when I healed, but it seems that will be longer then I thought" He remarked before furrowing his brow as Swiftwind reminded him of another dilemma in his life.
"The fruitlands" He answered honestly "I think perhaps...a mare I met a bit ago may be..well, you know" He told the other stallion with a slight quirk of his lips, to think he might have foals on the way...might be a father, and rather then being there helping see Etain through the ordeal here he would be wounded and unable to get to her. "I don't think I shall make it in time for the hatching now, I was far away when I felt the call and would have barely made it as it was, thankfully the mare...Etain has a friend I think will make sure she is healthy.."

Swiftwind raised his eyebrows. So he was on the way to the fruitlands when he risked his life to save a foal. "I'm sure that this Etain will understand when you tell her why you were late. Surely saving the life of a foal in trouble was a good reason to stop." He paused for a moment before continuing. "It's a sign you will make a good father to them."
"I'm sure this friend of hers will take good care of her in your absence. It's not like you didn't try to get there." He told Tanaris. He felt bad that the stallion wouldn't make it to his foals hatching but if he tried now he would only make his injuries worse.

Tanaris desperately hoped that the others stallions words were true - he had liked the mare Etain and while they certainly hadn't planned for foals - he wasn't opposed to the idea and in the back of his mind rather hoped that t might lead to a longer more stable relationship with Etain. "I do hope your right" He told Swiftwind " and perhaps with your nasty little leaf cure i will still be able to make it there before they leave"
this was a real worry for Tanaris - he wasn't sure how he would find Etain and the foals if they left the tree without him, he didn't know the mare well enough to know where she might take them - he knew she had family somewhere but didn't know their names or locations.

He had to chuckle at the nasty leaf comment. "Well thanks to that nasty little leaf you will be back to your hooves a lot sooner." He wondered how the mare would be without the stallion, likely upset at him not showing up, but surely she would understand when he told her the reason of his absence.
"The most important thing now is to get your strength back. Have you eaten lately?" He asked. There wasn't much grass here and poor Tanaris certainly wasn't in any condition to go looking for food.
