Oh, what should she do today?

She could go play with one of her many siblings, maybe? Lulu had been asked many times how horrible it was, having so many siblings. Didn't she get lost in them? But the youngster had the totally opposite view - she loved having such a large family! Whilst it was true her mother and father didn't always have time for her, she had many others to go her - Grandma Sevati and Grandpa Ravi, or Grandma Azi. She loved the stories she got from her two grandmothers, both of whom were childminders and storytellers in the pride. Lulu felt special, to have such amazing grandparents! And then there was Auntie Feana...admittedly, she was a little odd. But still plenty of fun! Lulu had only played with her once, but had learned some interesting tricks. Mainly how to get around Grandma Azi.

And then there were her...cousins? Was that what they were? They were lots older than her, nearly adult already! They were Aunti Feana's children. Lulu didn't see them often, though. She didn't really want to - they were too old, and not much fun.

Small pout on her face, the cub sighed softly, looking to her left, then right. Momma and Papa were busy, they'd told her that already. And Grandma Sevati was looking after another litter - clearly they weren't as important as Lulu! Oh wait...she remembered vaguely that Grandma Sevati had her own litter. Lulu hadn't met them yet. She really, really wanted to. They were older than Lulu, but not as much as her cousins. She could only imagine the fun they'd have! But that put playing with Grandma Sevati out of the picture. What about her other Grandma!

Decision made, the youngster bounded to the right, towards the sea and her Grandmother's den. She reached it fairly quickly, bounding inside a little before holding back, merely bouncing on the spot. Momma said it was rude to enter a den uninvited, whether you knew the occupant or not. "Grandma Azi, Grandma Azi!" she called out excitedly, giggling as the noise echoed, "Lulu wants to plaaaaay!"

As Azi had left for the morning, Kaja had the den all to himself. He stretched slowly, taking in the stillness of the morning. It was so calm and peaceful -- scratch that! A little cub had called into the den for "Grandma Azi" which could only mean one thing. This was Jesenya's little cub!

He excitedly stood and went to the entrance with a smile on his features, he had wanted to meet Jesenya's bunch for some time and he'd get to meet one of the cubs today! He spotted the little brown and pink cub, how could he miss her! With her pretty colors, she stood out against the golden sand as he greeted her, "Why hello there Lulu!"

Grandma Azi was so much fun! She had amazing stories of this place where she used to live, and stories she said her mommy had told her. What would that make her mommy to Lulu? Her big-grandmother? ...Nonono, her mother had told her once...great! Great-grandma. That was it! She hoped she met her great-grandma someday. She sounded nice.

But imagine poor Lulu's surprise when instead of the familiar face of her Grandmother greeting her, it was instead some strange green lion. She vaguely remembered her mother telling her about Grandma Azi's new mate - was this him? Did that mean he was her Grandpa? Blinking, nose twitching curiously, Lulu cocked her head to the left, watching Kaja carefully, "...You're not Grandma Azi."

A soft chuckle escaped from his as Kaja shook his head. "No, I don't think I am Grandma Azi. She has gone out for a bit this morning."

He lowered his head more toward's the cub's level as he introduced himself, "Since I know you're name, you can know mine. I am Kaja," He paused to tilt his head to the side slightly, "Did you want to play with me instead?"

He confirmed the fact that he wasn't Lulu's grandmother, but she'd pretty much decided that was the case already. He had a big fluffy mane, and was green, and was bigger. No, this was definitely not Grandma Azi. Lulu's face fell, the youngster upset that her grandmother wasn't there to play ith her, and her eyes were cast down to the sand, both in sadness and embarrassment at suddenly being alone with someone she didn't know. Kaja? She glanced up, blinking her amber eyes at the lion that was no longer a stranger. They couldn't be a stranger if you knew their name, right?

"Hi Kaja," she managed, smiling brightly all of a sudden, her tail wagging across the sand. Play with him instead? Suddenly she looked a lot less sure, "Uhm...I don't know. Momma said I shouldn't play with strangers."

But she's already decided that he wasn't a stranger. Ohhh, she was confused now!

It was good to see that the cub was learning some basic survival skills, not that he didn't doubt Azi's raising skills on Jesenya afterall.

Glad to see that she smiled he spoke gently to the cub, "I am sure your mother won't mind if we play together. I know your mom really well." He tilted his head slightly, "Is there anything in particular that you'd like to play?"

Momma Jesenya wouldn't mind? Ohhh, but she thought it was Grandmomma Azi that knew Kaja! But would that mean Momma automatically knew him? ...Oh, this was all far too confusing for Lulu. She was getting her mind all muddled. But she did want to play, and Kaja wasn't a stranger. Therefore...that made sense, yeah? "How do you know Momma? I thought you knew Grandmomma Azi, not Momma!"

Lulu was a bundle of questions today, but her cubhood curiosity would likely be something she grew out of. As for which game to play, she sat herself down, a very thoughtful expression crossing her face. It might have almost been comical to Kaja, to see such a small cub seemingly thinking so hard about such a simple question. Especially when the answer she finally gave was, "...I don't know. What would you like to play, Kaja?"

At her questions he nodded, "Oh yes! I know your mommy very well. We all travelled here to this pride together, way before you were born."

With a soft chuckle he looked over the cub once more, her expression was very cute. "I am fine playing anything with you, Lulu! Do you want to go to the shore or to the tidepools or closer to the forest?"

Ohhh, he'd travelled here with her? Well, actually, if she thought things through, it made sense. She knew Momma and Grandma had travelled here together, and that Grandma and Kaja had travelled here together. So it made sense, that Momma and Kaja had travelled together, too. She suddenly felt her chest expand a little, the youngster proud of herself for figuring it out. She flashed a sweet smile at Kaja, jumping to her feet, wiggling her hind high in the air, in a playful manner.

"Uhmuhmhummmm..." she mused, trying to decide. "The tidepools!" she eventually yipped, grinning merrily. The tidepools had the pretty water, but without any of the icky seaweed you had on the shore!

As she yipped merrily, he nodded and made his way out of the den. There were quite a few around here, but there was one that was his favorite. It was slightly hidden but well worth it in the end.

He looked down at Lulu to make sure she was close, "I'll show you a very pretty one with lots of stuff in it then!"

As they traveled towards the rocky area, he made sure that she was close. The last thing he wanted was something to happen to her.

Kaja seemed to look like he knew where he was going! She bounded out after him with a bright smile, watching him with slight awe, and total trust. This was going to be fun! Kaja was like her Grandpa, right? Yeah, this was like the fun she'd have with Grandpa Ravi! And ooooh, a pretty one! She did a little hop in excitement, "Yes please, Kaja! Lulu likes pretty things!"

She knew she was very pretty, after all. Lulu followed Kaja, keeping close by, eager to see the pretty tidepool he was boasting.

With her enthusiasm, he climbed a few rocks as they had reached the rocky area. He looked back at her to make sure that she didn't have any trouble. Once that was done he paused to look around, the water was ahead of them and crashing into the rocks. This was the perfect time and he smiled.

"This way!" He motioned towards the left and after a few more rocks to climb there was a slightly small tidepool that was slowly filling with water. It was full of little, colorful fish that darted here and there. Some starfish on the side of various colors and what tidepool wouldn't be complete without the sea urchins! "Look at it. This was has the most color!"

Lulu had a little trouble climbing the rocks, but only growled if Kaja tried to help, determined to do it by herself. She wasn't a baby! She could climb rocks perfectly fine, all by herself! Scrambling over the last few, she was panting a little, but that didn't seem to matter as she raced after Kaja, to find...more rocks. Oh, and a pretty little rockpool, with all sorts of pretty colourful fish! She gasped, wide eyes completely filled with awe as she watched it in silence, almost mesemerized by the prettiness.

"Kaja, it's so pretty!" she finally gasped, shuffling forwards a little to get a closer look.

He could see Lulu's awe in her face and he was glad that he was about to share this with the cub. There weren't many chances he got to spend with cubs, so he took this chance to the fullest! He couldn't wait till later tonight to tell Azi all about his day with Lulu!

Gently, he reached into the pool and picked up a little pink starfish. He held it close to Lulu as he said, "Look, this little starfish is like you! It'll grow up to be a big and beautiful starfish just like you'll grow up to be a big and beautiful lioness."

Oh, oh, he was picking up a starfish! Didn't they sting you!? She watched partially in awe, partially in fear, backing away with a squeak as he brought it close, before creeping forwards a little at first, sniffing the starfish gently before giggling. "It's pink, like me! Pink is pretty - did you know pink is my faaaaavourite colour, Kaja?"

She blushed a little, "Thank you! I'm gonna be the prettiest, out of aaaaaaaall my siblings!"
