The starlight glittered over the snow, making it look like glittery fluff. The sky was clear and starry, though the moon's halo suggested more snow to come. To be honest, a holiday gathering at this time, in the dark, was probably not wise. But, that didn't stop them. Darcy sat, perched near the small bonfire that had been built, trying in vain to warm her hands. Sometimes, the little orange-haired girl could swear she hated winter; it was much to cold, and her tiny hands never warmed up once they became cold. How bothersome. She served herself a cup of hot chocolate, glancing over to make sure the others were doing as they were supposed to before the guests got here. She glanced at the closed box that sat beside her.....those would best be passed out after they'd had their fun.
Aaron was silently counting to himself as he laid out the sleds and inner tubes. After all, why let perfectly good snow hills go to waste? He had some small shovels set out, a couple flags, and sand-castle making equipment. Snow was not meant for structured activities; it was meant for kids to be creative. So, he would set out the materials and let the kids come up with whatever they wished. He went over to check the soup he had cooking over one corner of the fire, stirring it a couple times. Burnt soup wouldn't taste very good, now would it? He checked to make sure there was enough cups, bowls, and silverware for the night before taking a seat by the nice warm fire.
There was a loud "WHEE!" as a blur of rainbow and purple came from one of the higher hills, missing the orange haired twins and their orange fire by a hair's width as it flew down the slope. It flipped, sending both inner tube and laughing teen flying into the snow. Jaella started to get up, then collapsed back into a fit of giggles. Oh, that was so much fun! She couldn't wait to do it again! She ignored the disapproving look she got from Darcy as she stood up, brushing the snow off herself and picking the tube back up. Snow clung to her hair, despite the shakes of her head made in attempts to shake the crystals loose. Stubborn little buggers.

Ivy walked around the town with Eve, wriggling in her dark red snow suit, the little girl was happy and asking her mother about the things she saw. Ivy grinned as Eve asked about the pines. "Those trees are called pine trees and they seem to thrive during the winter", Ivy explained while walking to the event that she had heard about happening.

The best stuff happened at night! Or so Iggy felt anyways, the little will-o-the wisp child tramping through the freshly fallen snow and up the hill with glee. he was small still, just a toddler and thus his weight allowed him to not sink too deep into the cold white drifts. Blue eyes focused firmly in the top of a hill and the little bonfire on it Iggy continued to trudge forward, only a few soul lights surrounding him tonight. The blonde boy didn't know if the others had gone becuase.. well sometimes they just left or becuase of the cold. Either way he wasn't alone just yet and there would always be more, others.
A little out of breath he merely waved at the pair by the fire when he finally got close enough to them.
Blaice followed a bit further behind, having a harder time making it up the hill. She'd gotten used to the night time outings and the weirdness that was the people who'd given her Iggy, now it was just a fight against nature. Had it not been so cold and the air devoid of thermals she'd have just flown up to the top, as it was the seraph walked her way up taking in the sight of the various activities that had been set up. She wondered which if any of them Iggy would enjoy, knowing her little one he could just as easily make up his own type of fun.

Howl was unhappily bundled in his warmest clothes. He was stuck in a puffy red coat, a red knitted hat, red and white gloves, thick black pants and red snow boots. Ugh. This was humiliating. Why had his father insisted he wear this? How could he court girls when he was dressed like this? Ugh. Honestly, parents knew nothing of fashion. He did like the sight of snow, however. It was beautiful. The moonlight hit it just right, so it looked like tiny glittering diamonds. He supposed, while he was dressed like this, he could play in it. But first, he had some business to take care of. He headed towards Darcy, and gave her a bright smile.
"Hello, I don't believe we've met," he said politely. "My name is Howl. You outshine by far the diamonds that is the snow in this light. May I ask your name?" Hey, at least he was trying. He rather thought he'd fail, with his clothing the way it is. "I mean that you are beautiful," he added. If only he had remembered the last time he'd met Darcy.
Zee was watching with vague interest. He remembered the anger Howl had felt towards the orange haired girl. He silently hoped something would distract him from her soon.

Sammi and Reiya had been thrilled to recieve another invitation from the Azoulais. "I'll hang out with Darcy," Sammi told her twin. "She looks cold. I'll warm her up, okay?" It seemed like the logical thing to do.
"I'll keep Aaron company then," Reiya muttered, after realizing there was no arguing with her sister when it came to this subject. Anyway, she wanted Darcy and Sammi to get along. Maybe if Samantha helped Darcy warm up, they would become friends? She hoped so. This was getting two fish with one worm, so to speak. She didn't want Sammi making a fool of herself by asking Aaron to another movie anytime soon.
Reiya went over to Aaron's side. "Hey Aaron," she greeted him with a smile. "Been keeping busy?"
Sammi went over to Darcy. "You seem cold," she observed, ignoring Howl. "Here." She handed Darcy a pair of mittens she'd kept in her pocket as an extra. "These'll help." She sat down next to Darcy. "If you want, I can make a fireball to keep in your hands. It won't burn you or anything."

Kaito opened his eyes slowly. A small yawn escaped the boy's mouth as he stretched. That was a nice nap. He frowned after looking around. This wasn't his bedroom and that wasn't a small trickle of breeze from a window. It was the actual wind.
Where was he?
"Oh! Not again." Kaito groaned as he dusted the snow off of his clothes. Below him snow glittered lovingly in the dark, but that didn't help the main problem. He was up in a tree.
Once again the boy had accidentally slipped through the shadows.

Adrian carried himself in the snow like a bitter old man. The King of Vampires was hunched over with his arms crossed over his thin chest, shivering. His body had a habit of taking on the temperature of his surroundings, a rarity for his kind and a nuiscance. His long, blonde hair whipped around his face, stinging his eyes depite the beanie he wore.
Deirdre rode up top. She was decked out in the finest of snow gear and had her claws dug into her dad's beanie. She didn't fear falling off like usual; her dad was really tall! He was too hunched over to prove a problem.
A blue and green blur zipped down the hill, instilling panic in the infant. "Daddy, the snowboards running away!"
"The wha- DAMN IT." Adrian sat Deirdre down hastily.
She put her hands on her hips in a huff. Daddies were so silly. He was tripping all over the place! Trudging up through the snow, she saw a funny looking shape in a tree, recognizing it as she came closer. "Brod'der, what are you doing?"

Ivy walked to the bonfire, wanting to get warm. The cold air seemed to go right through her coat. She put Eve down by the fire and went to get some soup for her daughter to eat.
Eve watched her mother walk away before getting up and crawling to the shovels. She smiled as she remembered her own toys at home and the shovel her mother had gotten her to play with in the sand box in the basement though her nanny hated to go down there.

Exile practically pranced through the snow admiring the way it sparkled as it fell, catching the moonlight just right. Small soft flakes drifted down to settle in his long black hair, sparkling like tiny diamonds before melting. He loved the winter and its weather. His mate on the other hand....
Kait trudged through the snow nearly hissing at each small cold intrusion that signified that a snowflake had settled on her skin. She hated falling snow. The cold she could handle and the snow once it had settled on the ground as well. It was just the cursed falling wet white demons that she despised. Seeing the fire she settled near it, nodding in greeting to Darcy, Aaron and Ivy. "'Ello."
Hunter nestled into his mother enjoying the walk in the cool air. He could hear the sounds of other children and he perked up looking around. He saw Eve and started to squirm trying to escape his mother's grasp. Free he wiggled away to join the girl. Picking up a shovel of his own he began to dig. "Hi."
Faeriina trotted along behind Exile, clutching her hat tight to her head. Mommy had give her a nice warm coat to replace the one Riina had made. Something about being afraid it would come apart in the wet snow. Noticing Howl and Sammi she moved closer, watching them as they spoke with Darcy.

Ivy didn't turn around as she heard others coming to the fire, but she had given up on getting her daughter some soup since the little girl wanted to play at the moment. "Evening, the falling snow bothering you?" Ivy couldn't help but notice the hissing.
Eve smiled as the boy came over, it had been a while since she last saw any children her own age. "Hi," Eve said shyly. She was new to meeting people and only vaguely remembered him from halloween. "Want to make a snow castwe?"

The little boy ran, stumbling through the cold white wet stuff Mom had called snow. Silvery eyes looked at all the people... "Hi!" he yelled out to them, grinning brightly. His looked around, his young eyes taking in all the new sights, all the new people...all the new smells. It was so overwhelming! The little guy stood there, entrance with every little detail. Like how the snow glittered. How the fire waved and danced. How another kid his age was up in a tree. Simply awe-inspiring, to him.
Marika chuckled, amused by her son. Aww, his first encounter with snow! A glance was cast at the small zurg baby in the back-pack-like carrier; poor little dear was gonna sleep through all the fun! She shook her head, then headed over to the fire where some of the other parents were sitting. "Good evenin', everybody." she greeted, grinning with a small hint of fang showing. "Whatchall up to?"

Darcy looked at Howl, trying to keep a straight face. To think, it seemed like just yesterday he was yelling at her. They just grew up so fast. She had been giggling up until this point, but it escalated into laughter. "My name is Darcy, Howl." she said, grinning. "We've met....met before." Oh, this was all to amusing. She then looked at Sammi, offering a polite smile. "No thank you; I'll be fine." she said, her laughter slowly dying down.
Darcy turned her gaze to Kait, smiling. "Hello~" she greeted, her tone polite. She then looked down to the little witchling, waving a little. "Hello there, little one." she greeted.
Aaron smiled at Reiya. "Hello, Reiya." he said, smiling. "Yeah. Same as usual. How have you been?" Reiya was talking to him? That was new.
Jaella smiled, looking at her three friends. "Oh my gosh, all of you grew!" she said, squeeing and clapping her hands together as she looked over Reiya, Howl, and Sammi. "Congrats, guys!" She grinned; everyone seemed happy. Mom was getting along with Sammi and Howl, people were coming....AWESOME!

Ivy sat near the others, but looked from the woman she spoke with to the fire. The flames were reflected in her purple eyes though she listened to her daughter to make sure the little girl didn't get hurt.

Kaito jumped as he spotted Deidre with his father. "Oooh!" With a yelp the boy came tumbling down the tree, but landed safely in a mound of snow. A few shakes later Kaito was freed from the snow.
"I dun know! What are you doin' here, sisa?" He asked before pausing. With a sniff he looked around. Was there other peoples here?
"Oh! Wows!" He blinked at his sister, "Whys so many kids here?"

Deirdre squeeled and scuttled to the side. Her wool mitts covered up her face, but even so she secretly peeped out the sides. "Brod'er otay?" She hobbled over to his side and flopped down in the snow, latching onto his arm. "I dun'no. Daddy said there was a....par...ty...Daddy?"
The infant was looking back and forth, her eyes wide with worry. They were surrounded! And back up was no where in sight. "Daddy? Daddy?!"
"Shhh, I'm right here." Adrian trudged up to his children with the snowboard under his arm. "Kaito, how did you-? You know what, never mind. Up you go, sport. You too, princess." With a bit of juggling on his part he had an infant for each arm as he joined the group. He felt awkward. And hungry, but not for the food cooking on the fire.
Dropping the board in a safe spot, he walked over to the strange mortals he'd seen before and bowed as far as he dared with the kids. "Lady Darcy, Lord Aaron, thank you for inviting us."

Feeling crowded and bit ignored by the fire Iggy eased his way out of the crowd and wandered over to where the snow castle making stuff was. Soul lights dancing aroudn him he tried to attract a little attention to himself, to use his will o the wispness to draw others too him. Flat out asking for help of friends wasn't really his sort of thing. Instead the little blonde did his own thing and began to plot out his haunted snow mansion.
