He thought he was doing well thus far, the few students he had taught had either limited skill or knowledge in the feild of magic thus it made it a bit easier to teach. Of course tehre were also students who had already dipped their fingers into the deep and divine pool of magic. Those were the trickier ones to teach. Trying to sift out what the student already knew to what he could improve upon...
A lot of theory it seems had been taught to the students...which in itself wasn't a bad thing. Theory was perhaps the best foundation when learning magic. The problem was more so the methods being taught. If students were never given a chance to actually test out magic then how could they learn it properly?
Of course Thaddeus was a very practical man, a man of books and knowledge. He was sitting in his great red velvet chair that looked more like a throne than any chair; reading. He never disuaded students from learning. Often wanting them to take control and forge ahead themselves. Well his new student was going to be interesting. He had read over her file noticing she was perhaps more better suited for melee than magic. But perhaps enhancement would be the best route for her. ALl he had to do was wait now.

If there was one thing about Tyven that would help her in any discipline, it was that she was both passionate and focused. Raven Millner, of course, had expressed a desire to 'turn' Tyven to the world of magic, for her precision and dedication, something rare among the experimental children being produced by the corporation.
So here she was, exploring her expanding interests. At heart, Tyven was an intellectual, one who worked hard to control her body in an effort to reach a higher level of existance.
One slim hand tugging the cuff of her dress-shirt, Tyven straightened the garment before using her knuckles to rap on the frame of the open door. Loud, short. Waiting only a moment, she stepped inside politely, inclining her head toward the instructor.
"Good morning, Mr. Zyane. Thank you for meeting with me."

Thaddeus looked up as his student entered his humble abode of a classroom he closed his book with a snap and then stood up. The swirl of his cape as it straightened to drap at his legs.
"Yes yes. Good Morning M'lady!" He replied tucking the book that was in his hand under his arm was he gave the lady a large smile.
"Welcome to your magic lesson miss. If you would take a seat on one of the pillows we can begin." He made a sweeping gesture at the large silk pillows on the floor.
"Tell me miss, for even though I am aware of the magic you have been trained in previously what exactly do you know? What magics have you dallied in? What do you prefer?"

Pausing briefly just inside the doorway, Tyven's tongue flicked out as she glanced down and away from the instructor, not wanting to draw attention to her actions. A tingle ran over her skin at the heavy scent-taste of magic and she felt her pupils dilate as she stepped further into the room. Now that she'd decided it was safe to stay, her movements were strong and confident, her toned body carrying her toward the seating area as she folded her long limbs and regarded the magic teacher, voice soft.
"I do not dally." That was a fact of her life, though the way she phrased it was unclear. Tyven rarely did anything one could consider 'dallying' or 'frivolous'. "I must confess that most of my pursuits have been in the physical and mental arts, rather than the magical. I have scrict control over my body and emotions, yet I wield no magic. Professor Millner tells me I do, however, have strong potential."
A clean slate.

Thaddeus looked to his student who seemed ...far too old in her actions and mentality. It was easy to see by the way she acted and spoke even in her gaze that she didn't take anything lightly; a very serious youth. A shame, he thought to himself, she had the rest of her life to dedicate to such things she should be out enjoying herself.
Still he didn't voice his thoughts as it wasn't his place to lecture his students on how they should be living their lives. Alas he was just an old man missing his youth he supposed.
"Beg my pardon miss, " He apologized, "Let me rephrase myself, so you have not stepped into the world of magic, and tested out your prowress against the unkown?" He gave a bit of a tease before he took his book and went to place it on his desk.
"It sounds like you have quite the skill when it comes to focus and dedication," He noted as he nodded his head and though that was a excellent triat to have for learning magic..one also needed creativity and a open mind.
"Let us get straight to the point then Lass. The type of magic you wish to learn, did you want it to help enhance what you already know? Perhaps learn something completely different? Expand your horizons as they say?"

Tyven was, at heart, frightened of her passion and strengths, and therefore had worked extremely hard to always be in control. Her interest in magic was something she hesitated to pursue, due to it's very nature. She was, indeed, far too old. Tilting her head slightly at Thaddeus' equally odd manner of speaking, Tyven considered his comments for a long, silent moment before choosing her words.
"I am unsure, Mr. Zyane. I am completely new to the discipline and unclear about what it will take from me in return for the skills it will give me." Tyven was under no illusions that magic cost nothing, as some were. After all, physical combat certainly cost, though she was willing to pay that price for control. Tyven was, luckily, no robot, and also had no limitations in her mind on what one could be trained to do.
"I would like to explore, with your guidance, what suits me."

Thaddeus gazed at the young female before giving her a simple nod of the head, his expression seemingly keen for a older gentlemen like himself. A clean slate was something he positively adored.
"Magic is a tricky skill to learn, for not only does it require focus and dedication it also requires an open mind, free to allow yourself to shape and mold." He explained as he brought his hand up with little effort as the gesture seemed like a very familar one to him, he summoned his own magical skill. The black like smokey substances that writhed like a living essece around his fingers seemed very...menacing, even violent. But there was nothing but cool and calm concentration on his face in fact he looked as if doing this was child's play.
"Magic, is very much something that you need to be able to work with and mold. Tell me lass, have you ever tried a potters life? Molding things with your hands out of the sheer mud of the earth?" He inquired before he used his second hand to seem to grasp parts of the magic bound to his other hand, "Magic is similar to what a potter does, they shape and create and mold, it takes a lot of skill and concentration, but also creativity. If your control is too tight..." He explained as his magic seemed to be taking on a form much like a small figure he then wrapped his hand tightly into a fist smothering it out of existance. "Then much like a pot being made on a potter's wheel...you will destroy the very thing you were striving to create." He dusted his hands off as if there was some sort of residue left on his fingers,
"First we should strive to figure out the type of magic you are more closely associated with." He explained, "We shall try summoning your magic into being much like I did mine. How does that sound to you?"

"I understand, sir." Tyven had learned, through trial and error, that smothering things was the fastest way to rid yourself of them. She had never been a potter, though she was learning to dance, and she had loved. Flexing long fingers at her side, her pale eyes followed his demonstrations before moving up to meet his gaze.
"I should like to try, Mr. Zyane." It would be interesting to see what she called forth. A part of her feared it to be impure, wrong, just like the rest of her.

Zyane nodded his head eagerly and then he gestured for a pillow to float over to where they were it gently landed on the ground behind Tyven.
"Perhaps then you should sit? Summoning magic can take up quite a bit of energy if you have never physically tried to do it before." He explained as he then clapped his hands together and then his large kingly chair moved so it was positioned behind him. He sat down in it a bit heavily as he was tired from standing so long. He then gazed down at Tyven realizing he had to explain to her what to do.
He leaned forward as he shut his eyes.
"I want you to close your eyes, I want you to look inside yourself..with your mental fingers reach for that power...a core inside of you. Don't be alarmed by what you find...simple take hold of it, focus it into the palm of your hands." He explained as he demonstrated easily enough by summoning his own magic again. The dark tendrils of smokey magic twisted about his fingers.

Nodding, Tyven shifted back from the crouch she'd previously been in to sit cross-legged on the pillows behind her, lavender eyes sliding shut. One deep, slow breath and she was inside herself.
Years of meditation, mixed with an avoidance of the deepest part of herself caused her to quickly enter an ambivalent state, in which she felt everyone one of her muscles, her breath slowly coming in and out. This was natural to her, routine.
But she went deeper. It was hot, and cold. Wet and dry. Wild, like her instincts. Holding her hands together, she fought the urge to pull away, and, unlike some students, had no trouble causing it to come to her. No, it WANTED her to take it, use it, acknowledge it.
She gasped as it started to overwhelm her, then remembering Thaddeus' instructions, breathed again, focusing, focusing... She could feel it, strong, throbbing, as it grew in her palms. If she just remembered to breathe, she wouldn't be scared of herself.
In truth, she was afraid to open her eyes. What would be there? Something dark and ugly?

Zyane watched her carefully a hmming sound deep in his throat as she faught against her natural abilities, what came to her hands didn't entirely surprise him though it was a bit amusing. It was brightly coloured a twist of never ending movement and colors. It never stopped moving twising about her fingers and hands like a living creature that was hyped up on caffine or sugar.
Chaos. It looked as if it contradicted everything the girl was about. Calm, focused. Chaos was everything but calm...never still ever moving and changing. Wild.
"Hmmmm you have quite the talent there." He mused with a chuckle, "though you can open your eye's lass, unless you feel you will lose control of what you have in your hands."

The muscles in Tyven's jaw tightened as she inhaled deeply once more, waiting a long moment before her eyes snapped open, locking onto the glowing mass of movements that was fighting to free itself from the confines of her palms. She eased up a bit on it, allowing it to travel a bit up her forearms, encircling and dancing.
"Fascinating." Her voice was cool, preoccupied, her eyes shifting over the magic that had come from within her own soul. It was not ugly, as she thought it would be, but... Unfocused. Strong.
"Please extrapolate." Quite the talent? What did that mean. "What is this?"

Zyane only chuckeled at her request to explain what the dancing, twisting never ceasing mass in her hands.
"That would be, If i am not mistaken, Chaos." He stated with a nod of his head, "A powerful if highly unpredictable form of magic. It is tricky to learn how to manipulate it as it isn't straight forward as other types of magic. Rather than giving it instruction you have to 'feel' the words. It works about emotion rather than words. " He explained as he reached forward the magic seemed to swirl around even more so in agitation as he chuckeled and withdrew his hand.
"This would be your magic. We can persue in learning how to weild it..or if you would prefer something more structured we can learn to use other types. There are quite a few to choose from."

"Emotions." Tyven's voice was deadened, neutral as she watched the light around her forearms, as it danced between her fingers, as if it was overjoyed to be freed. She blinked, then, as he reached out and was rejected, and felt a pang of identification with it.
It was hers. It would protect her. Her brow creased as she spoke again, still not able to look away. "Other types? Like what?" No, would not step away from this. She would not be a coward. "This is mine, isn't it? Shouldn't I use it?"

The older gentleman looked to Tyven giving her a calm if quiet look before looking away.
"It is yours by birth and right, but some things...shouldn't be used until one is ready to wield it. A prince may be born to eventually wield a sword and rule a kingdom...but he had many years of growing before that power is eventually passed down to him." He used the analogy as a comparison.
"Magic can be controlled in two methods, working with it and learning how it works, or forcing it to do your bidding. The latter is easier to work with..but the results can be disastrous if your magic overpowers you." Zyane explained leaning on his cane for support.
"There is no shame in learning how to wield other magics until you are prepared mentally and physically to control your own. The choice is yours of course."
