The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the reason why Kofi Kingston is getting such a big push right now is because WWE officials feel that the company needs an African-American baby face towards the top of the card. After several other talents that were selected for the spot didn't work out the way the company had hoped, the decision was made to give Kingston the big push.
It's also being reported that Jack Swagger's push has been slowed down, and possibly even halted, as WWE officials feel that he is not panning out the way the company had hoped.
As far as Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are concerned, they are getting their respective pushes right now because Sheamus is the work out partner of Triple H, and McIntyre is well liked by both Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Bryan Danielson has been told by WWE officials that he will be bypassing developmental and heading straight to the company's main roster. He is expected to debut on ECW.

That they need a black guy or not at the top of the mountain, the push remains a deserved one in my opinion. Though I think that push could easily have been given to MVP, but there should be something coming for him shortly.
I'm not too surprised they keep Swagger down though. He's not ready yet to get a monster push. After all, he's only around since a year and there is people deserving these pushes in front of him as we talk.
Funny how many people's pushes are related to HHH and HBK lately. That was a sarcasm, of course. However, I remember an interview where HHH said he was angry at the younger talent as they didn't seem to take all this seriously enough, being too busy playing Guitar hero instead of training a little more, which creates sloppy spots and weak matches. So either Trips sees in him a good worker or Sheamus was simply being smart by walking besides HHH. It works for Batista after all.
But as far as Drew's push is going, he is, indeed, a future World champion. However, that he's liked by HBK and HHH doesn't play much weight in the balance at this point as he's still a "new guy" in WWE. So they can have a change of heart at any moment concerning the man. And after all, most of the new guys were getting a good push/build-up when they started, so I wouldn't be too sure about him getting pushed high, at least for now.
Hmm... Interesting. Danielson having a bypass to get straight to ECW. Well, it's not like he needs training really, but I'm still surprised they don't try to water him down with FCW the way they do with 99.9% of the guys coming to WWE.

That's kind of offensive that they didn't give him a push ya know, because he's talented, but because he's black.

Well at least it destroys the racist-xenophobic image of the Vinnie Mac industry. But yeah, I agree with what you said, it doesn't seem to be for the right reasons. But, from what I can see, they tried that with a few and it was unsuccessful with them, which might be the reason why they went by Kofi to fill up that role.
Henry, yes, he's able to work a crowd and be an interesting factor in some storylines, but he's still the injury-prone powerhouse that is limited to 3 moves. As for MVP, I don't know why they didn't keep on pushing him as he the right balance of talent and charisma to do so. R-Truth, they were concerned about his "basic" skills, so he's down to an entertaining jobber. Cryme Tyme, it's a weird case as JTG can work well as a solo wrestler but Shad is nothing without him, despite the great mic skills they both have. But there could be Shelton or Ezekiel but one sucks at the mic and the other sucks period. So the only one left was pretty much Kofi, so saying he was only pushed because he was black might be wrong as his microphone potential is there and the talent can't be denied compared to the other afro-americans of the roster.

I've actually been lurking for a good while but considering I haven't watched WWE or TNA for two years I have no idea what is going on nor can I contribute any conversation to topics relating to the two. I have a question for you though, when and why did they rename John Cenas fireman carry?

So they call it the Attitude Adjustment. Also notice they don't call it the STFU, as they just call it the STF, damn censorship.

I guess he's just saving WWE's a** in the said interview.

If you don't get pushed because you're black, that's racism. But if you get pushed because you're black, how are we supposed to call that?

o0 Mystique 0o If you don't get pushed because you're black, that's racism. But if you get pushed because you're black, how are we supposed to call that? The point is that he should be pushed because the crowd loves him and he's talented, not just because he happens to be the only black guy they haven't tried yet and they need to balance out the skin tone spectrum of their roster.
