Good God, man, you're asking me to ban Lanzer. eek (Well, just a little housecleaning and some advertising would suffice, but if you ask me to ban Lanzer, I'll find a way to do it. Just give me an excuse.)
You know what we ought to do? PM the current 48 members of the guild to notify them that there will be a member culling. Those who don't want to be removed must follow a specific criterion - posting in a "omg don banz0rz m3" thread or something - or be removed in two weeks.
Also, thread removal. RPs will be given amnesty if the thread owner and at least two other individuals can post back to the thread requesting that it not be deleted. OOC threads would obviously need to have relevant or guild-wide sentimental value to make the cut. We need to start moving good-but-dead threads to a subforum to clean out the main page.
Hell, why don't we have subforums for each individual branch of the formerly-separate "official" guilds (ASDF, GPD, the future resurrected GA, etc.)? Or something. Do some advertising to get new blood so as to make all that space worthwhile. How much are subforums? God knows I don't give a crap about avi clothes; I'm more than happy to dump all my cash into guild development.

Lots of replies. eek ...Remember that mecha building system that I was working on waaay back? It's finished, but it's nothing like what I had given you guys a preview of before. It now exists as an RP aid / conflict resolution system. If it will help, and if there is a promise of this guild pushing to revive itself, then I will gladly offer the system. Please do PM me. I am a very busy person lately, and will need some form of poking in one way or another sweatdrop ...and oh yeah, not a mod anymore, stepped down a while back, mainly due to the afforementioned busy-ness.

The GPD is currently under command by Tacitus/Torment/Mindblaze Dominon.
Also, I'd like to make a suggestion. If this topic is to live again, maybe we should find new guilds to call "official", if we even want guilds at all. The GPD, I'm certain, would gladly be a part of this government.
However, maybe we should have a senate structure for the Guilds? Each of the Roleplay guilds represented by someone, if they want representation. You could find the better looking guilds and have them be the trail blazers.
Just brainstorming. Don't mind me. razz

You mean actual GGN guilds? As opposed to the formerly separate pre-GGN guilds which were collected under this guild's umbrella? (Forgive me, but it's late and I'm low on electrolytes. sweatdrop ) Assuming so, then that'd be great. It'd take a lot more activity than the GG can currently muster, though, methinks.
Thing is, the "official" tag meant a lot more before L0cke and his bozos started up their moronic Gaia NPC plotlines. Yeah, we knew it was coming eventually, but we damn well ran a better Gaia then than they do now. As it stands, with the GGN system, all guilds are pretty much equal as far as acceptability goes. When we were all just threads swarming in a forum sea, guilds rubbed shoulders with each other - there was a sense of community which arose simply from having threads on the same page. Characters jumped from thread to thread, from guild to guild, with ease - it was like driving between tiny European nations; just a formality at the border and you're through. Now, with each guild self-contained and separate, interguild alliances are more like extradition treaties: an on-paper formality which rarely gets invoked. The GGN system gave us a lot of power as users, but at the sacrifice of some of the best of the old Gaia flair.
In other words - I kinda went meandering there - we've lost all credibility as "official" folks on Gaia. Lame-a** L0cke and his evil lackey Lanzer. *grumble*
What I was thinking with my previous post above was more like something within this GG guild itself - I think your idea is quite meritorious, Bolt, and I'm more than happy to do what I can to develop and implement it - but what other guilds would find it worth the time and effort? Also, since the whole point would really be inter-guild RP interaction (even if only a senate-resolution sort of thing, like CSPAN or whatnot), it would be a lot more difficult under the GGN system to work out - it would pretty much require, in its ultimate extension, that members of any one "official" guild who wanted to take place in events or threads in any other "official" guild, here or elsewhere, would have to hold memberships in all involved guilds. That's a lot of administration.
Of course, I'm probably operating off a faulty interpretation of your post, too. sweatdrop
