As I read some of the posts here, and as I look around my own room, I wonder if we bibliophiles all tend to have rooms over-run with books. I know my bedroom doesn't hold a candle to Yomiko's (for sheer lack of books), but it seems that there are books everywhere. I have to move books out of the way when friends come over, just so they can have a place to sit. Here a book pile, there a book pile, everywhere a book pile. (Old crazy book-lady had a farm ...)

There's a pile by the sewing machine, a pile by my bed, a pile by my desk, a pile on my nightstand, as well as on a bookshelf in my room and on several other bookshelves in the living room. And a lot of my books are packed away as I'm getting ready to move.

Does it seem like books are taking over your living space? Do you care? Would you build a fort out of books and sit in it in bliss if only you could??

Yes, books are taking over my living space! I try to keep as many as I can on the shelves, but there are still books on just about every available surface around here. Maybe not so many piles, but there's at least one book sitting there. I only care when I can't find the book I am looking for whatever purpose.

Although I wouldn't mind building a fort out of books... whee

lol
I usually don't think of myself as having a lot of books, but then I walk into my room and see them strewn around everywhere. Stacked on my bed, my tv, my xbox, everywhere exept my bookcase smile
I have about 7 blank books that I always meen to fill with something, but I never do. And I keep buying more. sweatdrop

I have books everywhere. I'm totally like Yomiko in that regard. I guess they aren't stacked floor to ceiling, but they sure have taken over. That and my movie collection.

I have books and movies in a HUGE bookcase/cabinent that streches the length of my living room wall and goes floor to ceiling. PLUS I have four full size bookcases that are full.

None of this counts all the books I have scattered around on tables, by my bed, by my desk. On the floor.

They're everywhere. I love it.

My books tend to end up in really odd, random places, such as on my floor, on top of the couch..My parents finally bought me a bookcase..So it's not as bad anymore..And on an unrelated note, I've finally seen the ROD movie, and the first season of the series! It was awesome. Offtopicness done, now.

I only have one small bookcase in my room and it was filled up years ago. Now my books are: On the Floor, In Boxes, On my Bed, In Bags, In my Dorm Room, In other Rooms of my House, On top of the Bookcase, In a Storage Shed, Under my Desk. I can't use my dressers anymore because there are huge boxes full of books in front of them and I haven't seen my floor since I was in Elementary School because of the number of books on it and I'm in my third year of college now.

I need a bigger room/ house, and more bookcases. Then I can proceed to make a fort of the new books that take over the position of the old ones.

I have a very small bookshelf, and the poor thing's shelves are curving...So now they're like in my nightstand..on my nighstand..on my dresser..next to the bed in the guest room...random places in the closet..a book fort sounds neat...but you'd have to be careful not to take down the whole fort in trying to get a new book...

My mom is so annoyed with all my books. I keep adding more bookshelfs to my wall. I now have about five. I would have more piles on my floor, but my mom makes me put them in a crawl space.

I wish I had more books.
it's pretty moderate right now but I can't imagine having books I only read once...
so I only buy them if I know that I'll read them more than once.

Books are over running my life, but that's okay because I love 'em. I have a small room so it doesn't take much to fill it up, and even if I was knee-deep in them I wouldn't care. My sketchbooks and art supplies are half the mess. xd

all i can say is that i'm glad i have a high ceiling in my room ninja
actually i try to keep the books on their shelves when i'm not currently reading them but i often have a good two or more piles and a few scattered individual books about my floor at all times, they make good company

My desk was clean Wednesday. Since then, 8 books have landed.
I have a book case in my closet, a bookcase against two opposing walls, and a third by the door. And still, they cover the floor.
And I'm moving. Perhaps this is a chance to find a fourth bookshelf with more holding power.

I try to keep my books organized, but its getting to the point where if the books below weren't holding them up, the shelves would collapse under the weight! xd So yes, a ton of my books are everywhere. I would really love to have stacks of books throughout my house someday, but I have a feeling my mother would freak out on me if I started doing that now. Heh, them crazy mothers and their organization.
